Doing my thing, writing and advancing in life. Anyhow, now we are at chapter 30. I believe that the first iteration of this fic stopped at 29, so here's to a successful 30th chapter. I started this journey in 2014 and 8 years later, i am still at it. Seems that Pokemon passion really keeps stuff like these going. I might not be a prolific autor, but i do intend on finishing what i started with this fic. Expect more exciting, sorrowful, lovey-dovey, impactful and lore fillled chapters from yours truly.

After a grueling battle against a Giant Hurricanine named aptly Tlaloc, after the God of storms and rain, Andre and his newly evolved Iguadium and friends gained the second badge, putting them closer to their goal ever so slightly. On another plane entirely, our resident silver haired Unova native had quite the epiphany of her own, leaving her exhausted and content. However, outside of the city, a litteral calamity fell on the nearby forest, with Prototype 1 burning everything in his path. Sven and Malitzin, two unlikely allies in this turn of event are fighting the beast right now, but will their efforts be enough in staving of this reincarnation of the Bronze Age?

Chapter 30: Prototype-1 - Calamity of the Grove - Code C

Andre had put Snow on her bed back at the Pokemon center, his tired and focused self barely ignoring the rather mockerous looks the few people he met on the way. The raven haired teen had made sure that he wouldn't drop the silver haired girl as his newly evolved Iguadium carried a sleeping Shiny Vulpix in his arms. Their return completed, the two returned to the lobby where Andre returned his Pokemons and gave the Pokeballs to Nurse Joy so she could check on his Pokemon. After all, the battle against the guardian had been intense. As he returned to his room to let the nurses work in peace, he fell on his bed, watching the ceiling for a good 20 minutes, still coming down from the intense battle he just had been part off.

''Arceus damnit, if I knew that this league would be so difficult, i would have stayed a year more in training back home...This was terrifying...'' he murmured as he winced. Now that his adrenaline was back down, he felt all of the shocks from the battle come back to him...

It hurt...

Andre spent the next 15 minutes groaning in pain and discomfort. This was the price to pay for giving his all, he relativized.

Soon enough, he was called to the front to recuperate his Pokemon. Which he did with happiness.

The moment he showed up to the counter, he got tackled to the ground by his Peppit and Iguadium while the proud Shibalbat simply hovered behind him, looking at their antic in distaste. However, a keen observer would have noted how gentle her eyes looked. She was clearly happy to see him again.

''My human...i thought...I thought that i'd never see you again...'' whined the pepper bunny Pokemon as he nuzzled Andre's shirt in delight.

Andre laughed at his Pokemon's antics. ''Come on pit...I wasn't going anywhere'' he said before wincing... his sore body still reminding him of its presence. ''Easy Pit, i am still a bit sore...'' He informed his grass/fire partner who quickly jumped away, looking absolutely apologetic. The lentimas native gently patted the top of his head to signify that he had no ill will toward him.

Iguadium, upon standing up, exchanged a solid fist bump with Andre. ''That was tough, partner, but we made it. Here's to us achieving greater heights...'' said seriously before turning toward the statue, leaning on it slightly.

''Well bat breath, you reconize who'se leader now?'' He taunted the large Shibalbat.

Said Shibalbat watched him with interest. The glint in his eye told her everything she needed to know. However, she wouldn't allow the two footed iguana-crock hybrid to get too comfortable. ''Quiet child! You still have a long way to go before you impress me. That said, I suppose you do look a little more reliable now... much more than the runty Aguade you were before...'' She admitted, patting Iguadium's head so patronizingly that all the team cringed.

The water started's head was covered in tick marks... ''Why you... Only a few peeps gets to do that and you ain't one of 'em.'' He retorted in his much deeper , but still whiny voice.

The fire/Rock type snorted. ''Oh really? Like who?'' She challenged him.

The Iguadium's mind flashed many people, ranging from his trainers, his trainer's friend, the professor...and a certain golden furred fox pup. That last entry made his cheek go rosy for the quickest of seconds..before he turned away, his arm s crossed. ''Not telling!''

The gargovyle Pokemon chuckled. It seemed that despite evolving, the same ol' easily flustered Iztatl remained. She appreciated that. It would keep things interesting in the future. ''Suit yourself then, little huetzpal.'' She mentionned mockingly before turning to Andre. The two observed each other for a bit, with Andre not lowering his gaze and Eclipse being increasingly satisfied in Andre's growth.

''Good job out there. I was knocked out yet you still managed to defeat a Guardian. In my old temple, often did the priestesses and matrons speak of the strenght of those Guardian Pokemon. Defeating one this early in your journey is certainly no small feat and surely words of you will pass around the other guardians as well. Things will only get thougher from here, but I can see that it was indeed wise that I was given to you. You show promise. Lead us well, my power is yours for now.'' She explained in her click and whistly speech while pushing her nose onto Andre's now open palm.

Andre didn't completely get all of what the Shibalbat was saying, but considering her antics as well as the way she was nuzzling his palm it must have been congratulations of sort. The lentimas native smiled, as he was happy to see that he was gaining Shibalbat's respect and affection. ''I thank you Eclipse. This was really tough, but as you prolly said, we are just beginning to tap into our potential. I will make sure that I make all of you the strongest and happiest you can be!'' He promised solemnly. All of the team agreed and joined the two in a group hug.

Once separated, the group settled on their room's bed and opened the TV, after such an intense battle, lazing around wouldn't hurt anyone.

Sadly, fate did not have a tendency of letting heroes rest for long enough...

''We interrupt this Program because of a very important announcement from the Oro foundation Ranger Association and the Pueblo Leaf Grove Police. Please remain calm and orderly.'' Said the news caster of what must have been the local news channel. Now on focus was a man wearing all black, with gold outlining his uniform. He had several medals over his right shirt Poket and a red sash on the left. Next to him was a tall luchador like Donkey who was looking very no nonsense. Next to that pair, there was a woman looking not unlike the officer Jennys back in Unova. Only she was weaking a cream Poncho with a Pokemon cop pin on top, and next to her was a mean looking Cross between a fish, an hermitcrab and a gun barrel. Andre would have scanned them with his Pokedex but the grave faces they were making quickly gave him the correct impression that there was more pressing matters at hand than his curiosity. And right he was, considering what came out of their mouth a few seconds after.

''Buenas Tardes, Pueblitos. Finished the black clad Ranger Captain.

Andre hadn't understood much of the black clad captain..but when the officer Jenny started translating, the images shown on TV shifted to what they were seeing live of the field and it quite positively shook him...

.. A lot actually...

... Like enough that his whole body started shaking...As the first thing he remarked was that huge...mechanical monstrosity with an antennae on his head burning everything in sight and the terrible fire that was sourrounding them.

The second thing he realized had him litterally jump out of his bed. He was seeing a very familiar figure...actually 2 very familiar figures and their Pokemon fighting the Monster as the commentator, now explaining the live footage of the titanic battle said the following.

''It seems that currently, two person are desesperately fighting to contain the beast. One is distinctly dressed like a native warrioress and the other carries a huge backpack. I hope that the rangers and police will be able to assist them before something bad happens to them.

''What's up Andre?'' Asked a worried Peppit as Andre almost hyperventilated in front of the TV.

''Tha...THAT'S SVEN OUT THERE!'' Andre screamed before looking at his team. ''Alright guys, we getting Snow and we movin' out. That's the shit this guy put himself through when we ain't looking? How could he?'' Andre shouted angrily, the stupor long gone before he returned his Pokemon, took his things and geared up before barging out of his room toward Snow's.

''SNOW! OPEN UP, WE GOTTA MOVE!'' Andre shouted while banging the door with his fist. Looks didn't matter now. They needed to go now.

The door stayed shut. Andre tried a few more time and very nearly contemplated breaking in, cost be damned. However in a salutary flash, he remembered that he had doubles because of Sven and blessed Arceus when he opened the door with the double. However, what he found froze his blood...

There was nobody in the room...and the window was opened wide...

Snow was running, she was running with all of her might toward the forest neirbouring the city. A pognant feeling of dread was pushing her to reach the forest at all cost. It had been so weird. On one instant she was dancing among the flowers within the Pueblo's gym...that also doubled as a sanctuary, and next thing she knew, she was seeing visions of an horrible monster burning out everything in her path. She saw vision of Pokemon carbonized by the fire, she saw visions of Sven fighting the monster with a Pokemon she reconized as being a Nidoking...and she saw visions of a certain Amyaket warrioress that while she couldn't care less if she perished...was still fighting that colossus and it didn't sit well to abandon to her fate. More than anything...she felt...like the entire forest was calling for help...it was an overbearing feeling... She couldn't ignore it...so the moment she opened her eyes in fright, she returned all of her Pokemon, Vulpix included and immediately took off. She didn't know how she got the energy, nor how she managed to outspeed and dodge the few Pokemon Rangers or policeman who tried to stop her from going through them, as they were erecting a security perimeter to prevent people from going in the direction of the fire aside of the autorized personnel.

''All of you, please be safe, i'm coming...'' She murmured as she passed the gates of the city and went toward the forest.''

Back on ground Zero, the battle had been fierce. Slowly but surely, Nidoking and Ocerumi's repeated attacks were whittling the burning colossus down. It was slower than before, his fire attack slowly growing less potent and easier to dodge. Both trainers and Pokemon were exhausted however. They were running close to empty. That meant that they did not have a lot of time left to execute whatever plan Sven had whispered into Malitzin's ears... Which the latter quickly reminded him of.

''Hey dickless, any time we can execute that plan of yours? I...I don't know how long i can last.'' She admitted as her and Ocerumi dodged yet another jet of flames coming from the behemoth.

Sven grit his teeth. ''Don't tell me that you already running on empty, ain't no way Jaguar warriors are this out of shape.'' He mocked her in an attempt of spurring her on.

Maltizin showed a toothy grin, looking almost deranged. ''The fact that you can insult me at a time like this means you aren't through yet. Don't underestimate me. I can still kill you even if i wouldn't be able to move.'' She said as she ran toward the colossus herself, drawing him out before Ocerumi landed an hard kick that actually knocked the beast over.

Sven's eyes widened, taking a good of the spot that was kicked, which was the beast's knee like joints...

''Finally you are useful. Now I know how to execute the plan.'' He celebrated before the beast rose back up, non without difficulty.

Malitzin Gritted her teeth but ran toward the nuevan. ''Well, We know how to make it fall now. I suggest the plan is, I make it fall again, then you break the Antenna and it should stop moving?'' She asked, barely able to speak considering how ragged her breath was.

''Excellent deduction Partner.'' Replied a giddy Sven. Finally, they saw a way out of this.

The colossus arms then started to go up and down, but this time much more slowly, and with far more steam coming out of it. It let out a deep, mechanical roar that froze their blood.

Sven eyes widened. The beast's hide had went from white to blue... it was so hot that the ambiant air was starting to burn their skin. The very ground around the beast was melting, creating a strange mix of ground and magma around the beast...and said beast was still stoking. It was insane.

''WHAT IN THE FUCKING WORLD IS HAPPENING OVER THERE...AHCK...IT'S STOKING FAR MORE THAN HE SHOULD!'' Sven screamed in panic as even nidoking's thick hide was starting to burn from the intense heat.

Malitzin's instinct almost made her jump on yoalli and flee. This amount of Power was nothing short of Divine. For Amyakets...the divine wasn't a force to challenge. If she hadn't been able to take down the beast before this amass of power, it meant that the Gods were going to eradicate whatever they wanted and the mortals could only deal with the aftermath.

''There's nothing we can do to stop that thing. Let's get out of here before it actually burns us alive just by existing...'' She said with such calm that she actually sounded like a completely different person.

Sven looked at her like it was the first time he was seeing her. ''I beg your pardon? What did you just say?''

Malitzin did not spare him a single look. ''Did I stutter?''

Sven's choler grew rapidly. Moving his hand up to slap some sense into the Amyaket Warrior, he growled. ''Now listen here you little pussy...'' he started

''GUYS!'' A voice shouted toward them, making the both of them look in the direction of it.

''In how long will the prototype will reach maximum stoking, Cocytus?'' Asked the long haired man, a sadistic Umbreon perched on his lap and drinking in the sights.

A large man with a doctor cape replied smugly. ''In aproximatively 15 seconds sir. Be warned that once he releases that blast, the antennae on top of his head will most likely melt and we will lose all control over it. And the destruction shall be massive. Luckily, as per your demand, I have calibrated it to shoot toward the Achichiapan ravine and not toward the city.'' He explained as the man cracked a smile. ''Excellent. Now those Pesky natives will understand not to meddle in our affairs.'' He said out loud before taking out his watch.

15 seconds later, Cocytus smiled. ''Prototype - 1 - Eronze now entering critical Searing Shot release.'' He announced before looking down. Reverently, he removed his hat and prayed. He had been the head of this project and he was essentially asking his machine-Pokemon hybrid to commit industrial meltdown. ''Dios a hecho. Dios a retirado. Gloria à Dios, y a Dios solo. Proto-Eronze...Adìos'' He incanted before pressing the red button on his Pad. The program sent, the program on his pad shut down. Now, a command of destruction had been issued, and nothing could stop it. The destruction would forever change the landscape of the sorroundings area, but the city would be safe. On the better side, civilisation would now gain more place to establish themselves, which would always be a good thing. At least, that's how Cocytus coped with the actual atrocity he had just permitted.

''But I need to pass, My friend is fighting to stop that beast!'' Shouted a very angry and concerned raven haired teenager.

'' I understand that! But I cannot let you pass. It's far too dangerous for a kid like you!'' Shouted a poncho wearing policeman right back.

Andre growled with anger. He had been stuck at the police barrage closing the western exit of the city. No matter how he pleaded, they wouldn't let him pass. Worry was starting to make him go crazy because Snow had vanished and wasn't responding on her phone and Sven obviously couldn't considering what he was fighting against. It was driving him insane.

Deciding to throw caution into the wind, he grabbed a Pokeball. ''Well, if you won't let me pass, i'll force my way through you!'' He decided.

The policeman grabbed his Walkie-Talkie and called for backup. ''This is agent Mephiles speaking. We have an hostile in front of the barricade. Asking for back up''

Andre grit his teeth. Back-up wasn't good, but...right now he didn't care. Releasing Iguadium he said. ''I don't have time for this. Get out of our way or we'll punch your lights out, sir...'' he said before they launched themselves at the Policeman who responded in kind.

''Snow? What are you doing here? Where's Andre?'' Asked a stunned Sven.

Snow smiled at Sven. ''I don't know where he is. What I do know is that you're in trouble Sven...'' She replied

Sven sweatdropped at Snow's tone and words. ''N..not really the time for something like this don't you think?'' He asked sheepishly.

Snow this time didn't reply as she turned toward the blue hued beast. Somehow, at this moment, she didn't feel afraid in the slightest. She started walking toward the stoking beast without fear and somehow without any apparent discomfort. She felt invigorated, she felt alive, she felt...all powerful all of a sudden. She felt a hand on her shoulder.

''nequi yeecatzacuilia xochicuauhtla?''

Snow closed her eyes. Despite not fully comprehending the words that the voice had used. She understood the gist of it. Closing her eyes, instinctively knowing that it was okay, allowed herself to be consumed by the feeling she was experiencing. When she opened her eyes again...Snow was no more. She was something stronger, fierce. As she made three more steps forward 3 Hul-Che landed right in front of her.

Slowly turning her head toward her back, Snow's gaze met the Amyaket's warrior's.

''Are you crazy you little pale face? What do you think you can do in this situation? Can't you see that the Gods wants this place gone and that we cannot do anything about it? Do not get in the way of divine intervention lest you get yourself killed for no reason.'' She shouted angrily at the white haired teen

In front of a borderline furious Malitzin, Snow's silver irises turned Dark Red. the tips of her hair glew orange. A strange orange gown like material made of ether seemed to form around her shoulder and when she opened her mouth, a most curious phenomenon happened...

The voices coming out of her mouth were plural.

''zammoyollo tlama nahuatlahtoa choquiliztli xochicuauhtla tetlahuelill? canin amoyollapaltic?''

Malitzin froze. She had understood every single word out of Snow's mouth..but her heart refused to believe that Snow was the one saying them. ''You would interpret the cries of the forest as divine wrath...where is your courage?'' How dared she question her courage. She had fought the behemoth on behalf of her people, her culture and her Gods...how could that..filthy foreigner speak of her like that. That is the reaction she wanted to put out, but looking in Snow's crimson eyes made her falter. It was like suddenly Snow had become everything that Malitzin wanted...from power to beauty and everything in between. It certainly felt as if Snow had become a Goddess of war or something, as the Amyaket could not mutter any response nor comeback. Simply she looked down, feeling deeply ashamed.

Now sure that there wouldn't be any interuption, 'Snow' turned toward the beast who in the meantime had finished stoking and was now aiming a gigantic bluish white fireball at them. The sheer temperature of the ball made the air shimmer around them.

Sven started running toward the white haired teen. ''SNOW LOOK OUT!'' He shouted in fright

Snow didn't turn away, she simply lifted a hand toward the beast and her eyes glew.

Once again the blast was released. Sven saw the Antennae he had Planned to break melt into nothingness...the ball of flame engulfing the white haired teen , which completely vanished before the everything turned white.

''SNOOOOOOOWWW!''

In a not too distant sanctuary, a giant blue and yellow Canine woke up from his battle induced slumber. The said canine could feel that something was calling him. They needed his help. ''She'' Needed his help.

With a fearsome howl, the giant beast jumped out of his den and ran toward the place where he had been summoned. As it was his duty, he would protect everyone.
