Then, Carina widened her eyes when she thought about that. She took several steps back from Humphrey and began reflecting on her thoughts. Did she really think of that? There's no way she did.
Her eyes started to twitched. She was on the verge of tearing up, knowing that she was in Crystal's position yesterday.
Carina took multiple breaths, just in time for Humphrey to finished his drink. Humphrey let out a sigh of satisfaction. He had finally recovered from her workout, but his body is going to ache throughout the day. He hoped that wouldn't happen. Humphrey looked at her, and Carina immediately straightened herself. She formed a smile on her face while gazing upon her lover. Carina didn't want him to get worried about her or to find out how she was feeling.
Carina gazed upon the mountains and noticed the sun was cleared from the mountains. She was disappointed. Her duty was now in the way with her moment with Humphrey. She pouted before averting her eyes at Humphrey.
"Sorry Humphrey, I had to go," she said, giving him a hug and a kiss. Humphrey smiled a little and hugged her back before kissing her back. Now, Humphrey felt like this is a theme each time he hangs out with him. Duty calls, and it's in the way of their life, but he understands. They are the alphas, and they wanted to make sure this pack is stable.
"It's okay" he replied, watching her leave. He stared at her sadly, not realizing that this is the fourth time that this happened. He sighed and decided to hang out with Kate or the others when night falls.
It was nighttime, and Humphrey was walking around, trying to find his girlfriends. This was a perfect time for him to hang out. Their duties will never be in their way to spend their moments. Maybe their energy would get in the way and need to sleep, but Humphrey doesn't mind about that. He respected them and their health comes first. Humphrey doesn't know when they stopped working, but if he does; he will have a perfect time with them.
He walked around the main grounds for several minutes. So far, he didn't find anyone else other than alphas and omegas finishing up with their dinner. He wondered if the girls have eaten their dinner yet.
While he was walking, he spotted Kate who was walking her way back to the Pack Leader's den. He formed a smile and trotted his way to her.
Kate was exhausted. Her duties have changed because she had to practice for her next duty tomorrow. She never thought that this would happen, but she knows it takes a lot of responsibility to do this duty. That fits perfectly for her, but she hasn't seen Humphrey this whole day. She really wanted to see him and wondered how he was doing.
Kate was sad at the fact that she didn't give him a good morning kiss or anything in general. It felt like he actually left the pack and never came back for years. She missed him so bad that it started to carve her heart with a hot knife. Kate whined, wanting to see her omega, Humphrey.
Luckily for her, her wish was granted when she spotted the world's cutest omega on the corner of her eyes.
'Humphrey" she called his name happily. Kate missed this so much. Saying his name was such a blessing, seeing him right in front of her is a gift, and his voice is up next. She missed everything about him throughout the day and never stopped thinking about him.
"Kate" he called her back. Kate shuttered when he says her name. Yep, hearing his voice is also a blessing.
When Humphrey was closing in the distance, Kate lunged herself towards Humphrey and kissed him passionately. She missed kissing him. She broke the kiss and kissed him again, repaying him a good morning kiss and forgiveness. She knows it was late for giving him one, but it's worth fixing her mistake.
She broke the kiss and formed a wide beam as she gaze at her lover's eyes.
"Sorry that I didn't get to see you almost throughout the day" she apologized, smiling.
"I understand Kate" he started, pecking her lips. "You're just busy, and I wouldn't want to bother your work."
"But you can see me when you walk by, right?" Kate stated, grinning.
"Oh yeah. That's right. Thanks for telling me, Kate" he replied, happily. "I promise I will see you tomorrow, okay." Kate widened her grin. She was delighted to tell him he can come by anytime when he wants to. Kate knows that she was not the only one who missed him. She knows that her sisters missed him as well. Kate snuggled up to Humphrey sighed and let out a happy sigh. She wrapped her tail around his, smiling way too hard. She nuzzled his fur, taking in his scent so she remembered throughout the day and hopefully find him when she was on her duty. She wanted to track him before she moved on to her next duty.
"I really want to hang out with all of you, but I'm not sure when you guys are finished with your duty."
"Oh, well. We can always hang out at night. All of us finished our duty before dinner, so we could spend time there as well. But for now, I don't think we have time to hang out throughout the night till our bedtime."
"Why?" Humphrey was saddened by the fact that she said that.
"Well, they were dead tired and immediately went straight back home. I'm sure they are sleeping heavily." Humphrey knew they were exhausted after doing their duties. He wanted to see them, but he was too scared to see their parent's reaction though. He wanted to give each one of them a good night kiss as much as he wanted to.
It's best to leave them alone and keep their relationship a secret. Who knows if Winston and Eve are light sleepers. If Humphrey walked in, he might've gotten killed by their overprotective mother.
Kate nudged his side softly, catching his attention and giving him a beautiful smile.
"At least we still have time hanging out while we're on our way to my den. Every second counts in a relationship" she stated. It causes him to smile at her. Kate was right. Every second matters while spending time with their lover. But, something catches Humphrey when she said that.
"Are you tired?"
"A little bit." Humphrey nodded his head, and they spent their time chatting about their day. Humphrey avoids the conversation about her duty. He is pretty sure that's going to give her bad memories because of how much she misses him. At least Humphrey gets to see her smile. Her beautiful smile that he loves the most. Kate was giggling as she talked to Humphrey. He's the cure to her stress. As they were getting close to the main den, Humphrey turned his eyes at the moon. The moon was glittering in the night sky, and Humphrey thought this was a great time to howl.
"Kate, let's howl together," he said happily. Kate smiled.
"As much as I wanted to, we wouldn't want to wake up anyone else, do we?"
"Oh come on, Kate. Just howl with me, I mean. Look at the moon. I think it's a perfect time to howl together to end our day."
"Humphrey, I'm sorry. I've got things to do early in the morning." Humphrey rolled his eyes. Duty was in his way yet again, but Kate was a very responsible wolf.
"Like what?"
"Well let's see" she started, walking on the log bridge. "Tracking the caribou," she said, looking back at him. "Checking the borders, survival class for the pups-"
"Boooring" he said, cutting her off. "You so need some fun."
Kate stared at him, and Humphrey gave her a puppy cute smile. Kate smiled softly and rolled her eyes. His cuteness is too much for her to handle. She felt like her responsibility and her love for Humphrey are having a battle inside her. Kate really wanted to howl with Humphrey and hearing his beautiful mighty howl that surpasses any wolf around the world, but she can't.
"Sorry, Humphrey. But the good thing is that tomorrow is the moonlight howl. So we'll do it tomorrow, okay?"
Kate walked past him, letting her tail cruising the top of his snout. Humphrey smirked at her while she was walking. Humphrey started to let out a small howl, making Kate stopped walking.
It sends chills down her spine, causing her fur to spike up. She perked her ears as high as she can before she turned to him, looking at him lovely. The howl. The howl of love puts her in a trance. Kate can't resist hearing his howl. It's too much for her, but she loves it. She loves his howl so much that she could listen to it all day long. Humphrey howled while gazing at his girlfriend who can't help herself as she give him a lovely look until she noticed something.
"Humphreeey" She called out his name.
"Oh no please ahh" Humphrey tried to maintain his balance on the bridge, but he felled down the small cliff. Kate raised her head before flinching each time Humphrey whined in pain. She cringed, worriedly that Humphrey might hurt himself. Kate wasted no time and rushed over to his side to find Humphrey laying on a soft grassland.
"Humphrey," she says his name again.
"I'm okay" Humphrey responded quickly. Kate smirked at him before turning her head to the side while her eyes are locked onto him
"Hm, that was fun," she said seductively.
"Ahhh I was-... I meant to do that." Kate blew a kiss at him with a smile and Humphrey did the same thing. Kate beamed at him before she trotted her way up the slope to the den.
"Good night Humphrey" she shouted over the cliff.
"Good night Kate" Humphrey shouted back. The last thing Humphrey saw of her was her walking away with her tail wagging at the speed of light until she was out of his sight when she entered the den.
Humphrey sighed and laid his head back on the soft grass.
"What a great day."
Little did he know is that there is one wolf who watched the whole thing on this very night. A wolf who is known for taking his responsibility seriously than any others. He squinted his eyes on Humphrey, and he was right. Something strange is going on with him and the rest.
Well there you go. A long chapter for each of the girls with Humphrey. Isn't love great? Maaybe? I think I might update Call of the Wild or this story again, depending how busy I am next weekend. But, let me share my thoughts about Grayson. WHAT'S UP WITH HIM?! He's like an overprotective dad for the pack bruh! STOP BUDDING YOUR HEAD INTO THEIR LIVES, DAMN IT!
