Catch that fire
District:12 Nation of Panem formally the United States
Katniss and Peetra returned home after winning the 74th Hunger games and it wasn't long before Gordon Freeman showed up also. He came to congratulate her and her sister in winning it. He found the games completely disgusting that kids have to kill each other to the death.
"Get job you two" said Gordon
"Thanks Mr. Freeman and I see you survived as well" said Katniss
"I survived more hells than you can imagine," said Gordon "Although I find the games to be disgusting."
"You may not like it" said Peeta "But it is how we survive and our district does not end up like district 13, they rebelled however they were killed."
"Seems you inspired people to catch that fire" said Gordon "The both of you."
It wasn't long before Peeta and Katniss take him to their family home and of course their parents are there. They were happy to see them alive and meet Gordon Freeman a mystery man who wandered into the games at his own free will. So they had a meal together.
In the background military aircraft is heard in which they look outside to see troops have landed nearby their place. Then they stopped and stepping out of a military vehicle that made Katniss growl.
Gordon had seen the man from a hologram and kind of looks like that traitor Dr. Breen. People out one who it is and its the president of Panem President snow.
He smiled and walked up to the door of the Everdeen place, it looked filthy, but he will tolerate it for now and Katniss's mother allows him inside and he motioned his guards to wait outside. They won't be doing anything to him.
"I had dinner already" said Snow "And I will only be brief in what I have to say. And you Mr. Freeman, you shouldn't involve in matters that are not your concern"
"Coming from a tyrant like you" said Gordon "It is my concern"
'Tyrant, don't insult my intelligence" said Snow "I gave you a warning to leave, I only came in peace"
"So what's stopping me from putting a bullet in your brain" said Gordon
"Nuclear weapons" chuckled Snow "If anything happens to me, this district will pay the price."
Gordon could tell there is a sinister undertone in his voice and so Snow turned his attention to Katniss Everdeen. Using this time Gordon used the omni-tool to patch into all broadcasts and to show this exchange.
Snow explains that her actions in the Games have inspired rebellions. He orders her to use the upcoming "victory tour" to convince people that her actions were out of love for Peeta, not defiance against the Capitol otherwise
Unknown to the people inside the Everdeen home, people all over Panem is watching this. Snow goes on to explain. Katniss's loved ones and the whole District will be destroyed, "just like District 13". He makes Katniss promise that the two will not lie to each other, which she agrees to or was about to.
"Mr. President" said one Solider who barged in "Everyone is watching live to what you just said."
"What, how" gasped Snow
"The signal is coming from that man" said soldiers
"Oh you have just doomd this district" said Snow "Third deaths will be on you, get me out of here...now"
Snow stormed out and boarded the military aircraft and the people threw things at them, the air crafts have taken into the air and are heading back to the Capitol.
"We don't have weapons to defend ourselves against nuclear weapons" said Katniss "You have doomed us all"
"I have a plan" said Gordon
Meanwhile on route to the Capitol, Snow is unhappy at being exposed like this, but he had a trump card the Capitols advanced weapons and he was planning on destroying district 12 anyway.
"I want two of our weapons activated and launched right now, district 12 will pay for it's defiance" said Snow
"Yes sir" said the captain who carried out the order.
From two missile silos at the Capitol the weapons were lunched and flew above the sky and headed to district 12 at high speeds.
District 12
The people of this district their impending doom is coming and there is nothing they can do, but embrace death. Some tried to run and others tried to hide, where can they go, what they can do?
Katniss and her family were not scared, at least with their deaths will inspire the people from other districts to rise up. She noticed Gordon is rather calm and wondered what is he planning.
The two missiles are getting close, but then they turn around in which they have new target coordinates. Puzzled at seeing the weapons turn around like that over their district. Katniss looked at Gordon the man is doing something with a strange object upon his arm.
"What did you just do'" she asked
"Sending it right back" said Gordon
On route to the Capitol
President Snow will make an announcement that the live footage they saw is completely faked by people who want to destroy the great Nation of Panem, district 12 is just a small sacrifice to make and it will set an example for the other districts to accept his authority.
"Sir" said the captain "The missiles, they're, they're"
"Was district 12 destroyed" said Snow
"No sir" said the captain "They're heading to the Capitol"
"What?" Yelled Snow "shut them down before..."
"It's too late" yelled the Captain
They could only watch in horror to what happened next.
