Prologue
Our story begins in Pallet Town, a small town on the edge of the Kanto Region, one of many regions that makes up an incredible place. A place where everyone has a dream that fills their heart, a journey they must take, a destiny to fulfill. As close as one's imagination exists a magical place where wondrous creatures with incredible powers help make dreams come true. It's the world of Pokemon! People can capture Pokemon to be more than just pets. Human trainers and their Pokemon compete against one another in amazing contests of skill and strategy. The best Trainers one day become Pokemon Masters. That's a dream that burns brightly for many, but none more so than Ash Ketchum.
Speaking of whom, Ash was currently in his bedroom at his home, sleeping, when a woman with red hair came in.
"Ash, how are you still asleep?! Wake up! We're going to be late!" the woman said. This is Delia, Ash's mom.
Ash stirred slowly before he grabbed his alarm clock and saw the time. He then shot wide awake.
"MOM, WHY DIDN'T YOU WAKE ME UP?!" Ash shouted as he fell down from the bed, Pikachu looking down at him.
"I tried, but you wouldn't move!" Delia said as Ash grabbed his jacket and his trusty hat.
"Come on, Pikachu!" Ash said as Pikachu hopped down and followed him down the stairs.
Later, at Professor Oak's laboratory, the professor had just finished a seminar about the motivation to always do one's best not just on Pokemon journeys, but also in the Pokemon League. Ash took in every word of it. He was now motivated to go on another journey, but he didn't know where to. He had gone from League to League and now was just taking it easy for a good long while at home. However, once he saw a poster on the town posterboard, he knew just what to do.
Back at the Ketchum house, Delia was cooking lunch when Ash suddenly came rushing in, "Mom! Check this out!" he said as he showed her the poster. It was a poster for a Mother and Child Pokemon League. To enter, a mother and child team had to go around Kanto and collect seven special badges.
"Sounds interesting." Delia said.
"I saw this poster and I thought it would be a great way for us to spend time together, especially during travels! So, what do you think?" Ash asked.
Delia thought about it for a few minutes before she smiled and said, "Okay. We'll set out tomorrow!"
"Awesome!" Ash said.
The next morning, Ash and Delia had their things all packed and were ready to go. The last thing they did was lock the front door.
"Well, here we go!" Ash said as he and Delia set out on the road.
"I can hardly wait to see what kinds of adventures we have out here!" Delia said.
However, little did any of them know, they were being watched by three figures in the bushes.
"Well, it seems the twerp is bringing his mommy." said a red-haired woman.
"Well, it doesn't matter. We'll still get that Pikachu!" said a blue-haired guy.
"That's right!" said a cat-like Pokemon.
