Making A Splash!

The next day…

"Okay, so who's this a statue of anyway?" Gavin said as he walked up to the statue in front of City Hall and looked down at the plaque that was on it. "'Mayor Grover Goodway, the first mayor of Adventure Bay,'" He read. "Well, he really needs a bath," he continued as he looked back at the statue, which had some cobwebs hanging on its shoulders and hat, and multiple bird poop stains covering the hat. "Hope he gets one soon." He then walked up the front steps, pulled open one of the two reddish-brown doors, and went inside.

Inside, he saw that the walls were painted a nice yellow, and the carpet was a nice red. Several paintings and photos of Adventure Bay locations were on the walls, along with a few paintings of a chicken. Said chicken was white, with an orange beak and feet, pale gray eyes, a red wattle, and an anklet on the right ankle. A pair of light brown doors were behind a large wooden desk that had a computer on one corner, a couple green chairs in front of it, a gold nameplate that read "Mayor Goodway," and a large chair. Several potted plants were around the room.

Sitting in the chair behind the desk was a 29-year-old woman with dark-colored skin, pretty brown eyes, and long wavy hair, as well as a small beauty mark on her face. She was wearing a blue skirt, a blue blazer, a pink camisole, red high heel shoes, and golden earrings.

"Well hello! Welcome to Adventure Bay! I am Mayor Goodway," The lady said with a smile. "How may I help you?" She then got a good look at him. "Oh! You must be a new resident!"

"Hello Mayor Goodway. Yes, I am a new resident. My name is Gavin Woodring, and I was wanting to see if anyone in Adventure Bay was currently hiring," He replied.

"Let me see," Mayor Goodway said as she began typing on her computer. After typing and clicking for a few minutes, she shook her head. "I'm sorry, but no one's currently hiring."

"Oh," Gavin replied, a bit surprised to hear that. "I see. Thanks for letting me know, Mayor Goodway." He then turned around, and walked out of the building, sighing once he reached the stairs. "Well, that sucks," He said to himself. "I guess I'll go check out the rest of the town."

He then walked away from City Hall and started heading to the right. He passed by several small shops and had gotten halfway past the beach before spotting one that stood out.

Said shop sat right on the corner across from the beach, and stood one story tall. It had light yellow walls with domed windows, and green trim running around the entire top of the building, with the flat roof coming to a stop several feet above it. Sitting right above the trim in the middle was a circular sign that had the image of a bald man with tanned skin and a mustache smiling on it, along with the word's "Porter's Café" in black lettering circling around the image. A red and white canopy sat over the two front doors, while a larger one sat on the side over a large patio. Said patio had several tables and chairs on it, with pink and white striped umbrellas providing shade. A couple fruit stands sat slightly to the left of the building.

"Huh, this looks nice," he said as he walked over to the fruit stands to see what was available. As he did so, a 5 foot 8 inch tall middle-aged man walked out of the café. He had pale skin, dark brown eyes, and no hair. His mustache was dark brown and he had a "soul patch" that was dark brown as well. He was wearing a light blue shirt, a green apron, and blue jeans.

"Well hello there! I'm Mr. Porter, and the owner of this fine establishment," The man said to Gavin as he walked over to him. "I don't think I've seen you around here before."

"It's nice to meet you, Mr. Porter," Gavin replied, shaking the man's hand. "My name is Gavin Woodring, and I just moved here yesterday."

"Wonderful! I hope you grow to love Adventure Bay!" He said. "So, what's catching your eye?"

"The Granny Smiths," Gavin replied, pointing at the green apples before him. "How much for one?" He asked as he began to pull out his wallet.

He was stopped though, when Mr. Porter shook his head. "Since you just moved in, I'll give you one for free," He said as he handed an apple to Gavin, who was a bit surprised at the man's generosity.

"Um, thanks," He replied, still surprised. "I'll see you around, I guess."

He then began walking off as Mr. Porter said "See you around as well Gavin."

"Wow, I didn't expect that," Gavin said once he was a good distance away. "No other grocery owner I've met would give out a freebee to a new person in town.' He then took a bite of the apple, and hummed happily upon tasting it. 'And it's fresh! I think I'm really going to like living here.' He took another bite as he walked further on down, before spotting another interesting shop located close to the bridge.

Said shop was one story tall and a pale pink in color. Two pale pink columns that were thin and had white trim at their ends held up a round overhang sticking out above the glass front doors. A figurine of a smiling white dog sitting with a black cat and a human sat above the overhang, with a pink and purple rainbow going behind them. A large display window sat to the left of the front doors, showing various products such as shampoo, treats for various animals, and toys.

'Huh, I guess that's a beauty parlor that caters to anthros and humans,' he thought as he stared at the building for several seconds before walking past it. 'I'll check it out some other time.'

After walking around for about 15 more minutes, he came across a large park that had a big playground on it. He could see kids and anthros of various ages playing on the equipment, and smiled at the sight. 'It's so nice to see them playing together,' He thought as he watched a 5 year old boy Boxer play tag with a 6 year old white girl. 'This place is perfect for them.'

After a few minutes went by, he walked off once more, finishing off the apple and tossing it in a nearby trashcan as he went. He continued to walk for several more minutes before he came upon a large dock, with a large ship tied up at the end on one side. Said ship was a bit small, and was gray in color, with a yellow, white, and purple hull. A small grey crane sat at the back of the boat, while several portholes lined the hull. A set of gray stairs led up to the controls, while a large metal door with a big handle on it sat on either side of the control tower the stairs went up. Some weather monitoring equipment stuck up from the red roof of the tower, while an orange light hung off either side. A large exhaust pipe stuck out of the rear portion of the boat, facing the edge. A light blue railing lined the top of the hull.

"That's a pretty nice boat," Gavin said as he walked over to get a better look at the ship. As he got closer, the side door opened, and out stepped a very skinny young man who appared to be in his 30s. He had fair skin and long, light brown hair that fell below his ears and ended right above his shoulders. His eyes were bead-shaped, small, and completely black, with a pair of blue-tinted square eyeglasses with thick lenses sitting before them. He was wearing a red knit toboggan hat, a light, blue-colored polo shirt, yellow rubber overalls with suspenders and blue buttons, and dark brown boots with orange bottoms.

"Why thank you!" The man said in a know-it-all voice that also sounded friendly. "I always make sure to keep the Flounder ship-shape!"

"I can tell," Gavin replied as he looked at the ship. "There's not a sign of rust or a mess anywhere. Tell me, what's your name?"

"Cap'n Turbot!" The man replied proudly as he held a hand out to shake. "And you are?"

"Gavin. Gavin Woodring," he replied as he took the man's hand and shook it. "I just moved to town yesterday."

"Well, Gavin," Cap'n Turbot began with a smile. "Let me welcome you to Adventure Bay by giving you a ride on my boat! I can show you the many marine marvels here!"

"Um, okay," He replied, surprised by the man's offer. "Do I need to pay you?"

"Oh no!" Cap'n Turbot said with a shake of his head. "Not at all!"

"Ah," Gavin replied, a bit surprised to hear that. "Well then, shall we go?"

"Yes! Follow me!" Cap'n Turbot said with a nod, before hopping on board the Flounder, with Gavin following him.

Once he was aboard, Turbot untied the boat from the dock before running up to the controls and starting the engine. He then turned the boat around and started heading towards the bridge.

As Gavin stood at the front of the ship, staring out at the bay before them, he remembered a song he'd heard a few years ago, and began to sing it.

"There once was a ship that put to sea

The name of the ship was the Billy of Tea

The winds blew up, her bow dipped down

Blow, my bully boys, blow (huh)"

As he sang, the boat passed under the bridge, which Marble was currently going over on her skateboard, which was black with yellow trim, yellow wheels, and yellow arrows on the top middle. She was also wearing a black and yellow helmet and arm and knee pads. "Who's singing?" She said as she heard the voice and stopped in place, looking around for the source of the voice.

"Soon may the Wellerman come

To bring us sugar and tea and rum

One day, when the tonguing is done

We'll take our leave and go"

"I think it's coming from under the bridge," She said to herself as she ran over to the railing and looked down. There, she saw that Cap'n Turbot was driving his boat out to the bay, and that Gavin was on the bow, singing. "Wow. He's good," She said as she stood there, listening to him sing.

"She'd not been two weeks from shore

When down on her a right whale bore

The captain called all hands and swore

He'd take that whale in tow

Soon may the Wellerman come

To bring us sugar and tea and rum

One day, when the tonguing is done

We'll take our leave and go

Da-da, da-da-da-da

Da-da-da-da, da-da-da-da-da

Da-da, da-da-da-da

Da-da-da-da-da-da

Before the boat had hit the water

The whale's tail came up and caught her

All hands to the side, harpooned and fought her

When she dived down low (huh)

Soon may the Wellerman come

To bring us sugar and tea and rum

One day, when the tonguing is done

We'll take our leave and go

No line was cut, no whale was freed

The Captain's mind was not of greed

And he belonged to the whaleman's creed

She took that ship in tow (Huh!)

Soon may the Wellerman come

To bring us sugar and tea and rum

One day, when the tonguin' is done

We'll take our leave and go

Da-da, da-da-da-da

Da-da-da-da, da-da-da-da-da

Da-da, da-da-da-da

Da-da-da-da-da-da

For forty days, or even more

The line went slack, then tight once more

All boats were lost, there were only four

But still that whale did go (Huh!)

Soon may the Wellerman come

To bring us sugar and tea and rum

One day, when the tonguin' is done

We'll take our leave and go

As far as I've heard, the fight's still on

The line's not cut and the whale's not gone

The Wellerman makes his regular call

To encourage the Captain, crew, and all (Huh!)

Soon may the Wellerman come

To bring us sugar and tea and rum

One day, when the tonguin' is done

We'll take our leave and go

Soon may the Wellerman come

To bring us sugar and tea and rum

One day, when the tonguin' is done

We'll take our leave and go"

As he finished singing, he heard Cap'n Turbot speak up from the tower. "Bravo!" Cap'n Turbot said, clapping his hands. "Bravo! You have a great singing voice."

"Oh, um, thank you," Gavin replied, blushing a bit at the praise. "So, what can you tell me about Adventure Bay?" He said, changing the subject.

"A great many things!" Turbot said excitedly as he climbed down from the tower and walked over to him. "Adventure Bay hosts many interesting creatures. There's the giant sea slug-"

"Arf! Arf!"

"Wally!" Turbot exclaimed happily as he ran over to the edge of the boat and looked down at the water, prompting Gavin to do the same.

There, floating in the water with his head and shoulders visible, was a walrus. He was mostly brown in color, and had brown eyes, dark brown eyebrows, a light brown mustache, and two large white tusks.

"Arf! Arf!" Wally the walrus said happily in greeting upon seeing his friend.

"I'm happy to see you to," Turbot replied with a nod and grin. "Come aboard!"

Wally nodded, before diving back down into the water, revealing he had light brown spots on his back. A few seconds went by, before Wally then leaped out of the water and into the boat.

"Wally, I'd like you to meet Gavin," Turbot said, gesturing to him with an arm. "He just moved here."

"Arf!" Wally said happily in response, his mustache moving in such a way that it looked like he was smiling.

"Nice to meet you Wally," Gavin said to the smiling walrus, before turning to Capt'n Turbot. "So, do you study him at all? Or do you just hang out with him?"

"I do both," Turbot replied with a nod. "Actually, thanks for reminding me. Wally, we need to continue seeing how much you sleep." He then opened the side door he was next to, and gestured to Wally to head inside. "I've already set up a bed for you."

"Arf! Arf!" Wally said happily, clapping his fins before he went inside, with Turbot shutting the door behind him.

"Sleep well Wally!" Turbot said before turning to Gavin. "So, as I was saying,-"

*THUD! THUD!*

*CRUNCH!*

"Woah!" The two males yelled out as they felt the Flounder hit something hard before coming to a stop, knocking them off their feet.

"What happened?" Gavin asked as he and Cap'n Turbot got back to their feet.

"Oh no!" Turbot exclaimed as he looked over at the bow, worry on his face. "I was so excited to tell you about what lives in Adventure Bay, that I forgot to turn the boat off. We've run aground!"

"Wait, what?!" Gavin said with surprise as he quickly ran over to the bow and looked down. Sure enough, they had indeed run aground.

The boat was stuck on some large rocks sticking out of the water, and was sticking up at a slightly slanted angle.

"Don't worry, I can get us out of this," Turbot replied as he ran up to the controls and put the boat in reverse.

Nothing happened though, and Turbot sighed with disappointment as he turned off the engine and climbed down. "Or not," he said as he pulled out his phone. "Guess I better contact Ryder and the Paw Patrol." He then pressed a button on his phone as he walked over to Gavin.

'Huh, this should be interesting,' Gavin thought as the phone rang for several seconds, before the screen changed to show Ryder's face and shoulders. 'I'll get to see them in action.'

"Hello! Ryder here!" Ryder said with a smile, a couple grease smudges on his cheek.

"Oh, uh, hi, Ryder," Turbot replied with a small wave, looking uneasy.

"Hi Captain Turbot. What's up?" Ryder asked him.

"Well, I'm a bit embarrassed to report my boat is, haha, I'd guess you'd say, uh, stuck," Turbot replied with embarrassment as he showed Ryder the boat's condition.

"The Flounder ran aground?" Ryder asked him after a few seconds of silence.

"Heh, afraid so Ryder," Turbot replied with a nod and a sad look on his face. "I'm caught on some rocks, and the tide's going out," He continued, having noticed the water level was lowering slowly. "If I can't get free, the Flounder will end up at the bottom of the bay. Is it possibly within your Paw Patrol power to help?"

"Don't worry Captain Turbot. No job is too big, no dog is too small!" Ryder said before hanging up.

"Well, it sounds like they're on the way," Gavin said upon hearing that. "That's good."

"Yeah, it is," Turbot replied with a nod.

"So, how long do you think they'll be?" He asked him. "Fifteen minutes?"

"Eh, possibly," Turbot answered him. "Probably more like ten."

"Well, hopefully they get here before the tide's gone out too much for us to leave," Gavin replied as he looked down at the water.

"Yeah, I hope so too," Turbot said with a nod as he looked at the water as well.

"So, what else is there to do in Adventure Bay besides look at the wildlife and eat at the cafe?" he asked Cap'n Turbot, wanting to take his and the captain's minds off their current situation.

"Oh, there's lots of things!" Turbot replied with a smile. "There's the beach, Seal Island, which is where I live, Katie's Beauty Parlor, Farmer Yumi's Farm, Jake's snowboarding resort, and the Adventure Bay Museum."

"'Seal Island?'" He repeated. "What can you tell me about it?"

"Oh, well, first off, it's right over there!" Cap'n Turbot answered as he pointed off the boat, prompting Gavin to look.

The island he was pointing at was rather small, and was hill-shaped, with a rocky cliff making up about a third of it. A tall lighthouse sat at the top of the island, a large flat dirt path leading down from it, with several trees around it. It was colored white with blue stripes on it, and the portion containing the lamp was red in color. The dirt path led down to a small shack that was orange in color with a teal blue door and a turquoise roof. Next to it was a long wooden dock that went out into the water a good distance, while a large dingy-orange round object floated in the water next to it, several ropes holding it in place.

"Huh, it looks nice," Gavin said, before turning to Turbot. "Why is it called 'Seal Island?'"

"Oh, that's because every once in a while a group of seals will come and stay for a few days," Cap'n Turbot replied with a large smile. "They usually come in late summer."

"I see," Gavin said with a nod. "And how long have you lived on the island?"

"Oh, for about 12 years," Cap'n Turbot replied.

"That's a long time," Gavin said with surprise, before they both started to hear the sound of engines and a helicopter heading towards them. This prompted them to turn towards the sounds, and Gavin gained a surprised and relieved look on his face.

"It's Ryder, Skye, and Zuma!" he said happily as the two members of the Paw Patrol headed towards them.

Zuma was now wearing an orange wetsuit that hugged her curves, with an orange helmet on her head that had the Paw Patrol symbol on it in orange. An orange set of scuba gear sat on her back, while her black bracelet sat on her wrist. She was driving what Gavin recognized as the small orange raft he'd see yesterday, but it was no longer small. Now, it was a large hovercraft, with Zuma sitting in the middle of it and two large blue fans on either side of the rear that had flashing red lights on them.

Ryder was still wearing his normal outfit, except that he had on a red and white puffed up jacket with the Paw Patrol symbol on his left breast, and he had a round red helmet on his head that had a white microphone on the left cheek, a clear visor, and a white metal patch on the front and middle of it that had the Paw Patrol symbol on it. He was driving an ATV that was primarily red and silver in color, with dark blue stripes on it, a blue seat, light blue rear wheelhouses, and the Paw Patrol symbol right below the gray handlebars and clear windshield, as well as the number "01" on it in white on several parts. The front wheels were pulled into the body, and were black with yellow trim between them and their silver rims. Keeping the front of the ATV off the water were a pair of curved blue skis that were white at the rear. In the back, one lone light blue flat ski kept the rear from falling into the water, while the rear tires were faced backwards on two thick metal arms, spinning quickly to propel the ATV forward.

Gavin couldn't get a good look at Skye as she was flying a good distance above them, but he could see that she had on a pink aviator's cap, with pink aviator goggles over her eyes. Her helicopter was, in fact, the silver and pink camper he had seen yesterday. She was sitting in the front of it, with a large clear windshield in front of her, while part of the walls surrounding the cockpit had moved back, allowing her to see on either side clearly. Two small wings stuck out one either side, with the pink propellor symbol on them. At the middle and top of the camper were two large pink exhausts and a large pink spinning propellor blade. Sticking out the rear of the helicopter was a somewhat small pink tail boom, with a small pink tail rotor at the end, while on either side of the tail boom was the pink propellor symbol with a white bone going through it, while a purple stripe extended from it towards the tail rotor. Sticking out the bottom rear of the vehicle were two large black tires with pink rims, while a small black one stuck out the middle and front of it via two pink metal rods.

Cap'n Turbot immediately began to wave his arms at them, while Gavin stared at them with intrigue. 'I must say, those are well designed craft,' He thought as they got closer and closer. 'I wonder who designed them?' He then arched an eyebrow upon seeing that Zuma and Ryder were dragging thick ropes behind them. 'And what's with the rope?'

"Ryder! Zuma! Oh! Thanks for coming to the rescue!" Turbot said when they got close enough to them.

"Yes, thank you," Gavin added with a smile.

"What happened Cap'n Turbot?" Ryder asked him.

"Well, I was so excited to tell Gavin here about the multiple marine creatures that lived here, that I forgot to watch out for the rocks," he replied with frustration as he gestured to the rocks the Flounder was stuck on. "I'm stuck!"

"Leave it to us Cap'n Turbot," Ryder replied as he and Zuma headed towards the rear of the boat, which prompted Gavin and Turbot to follow them. "Zuma and I can get you free." He then reached over to the end of his ATV and grabbed the rope he had been dragging, before tossing a looped end onto the boat, prompting Zuma to do the same. "Just attach these lines," He said, prompting Gavin to come over and help Cap'n Turbot put the lines on the rear hook of the Flounder. "All set!" The two said with a smile.

Ryder and Zuma then turned their boats around, and started pulling away till there was just a little bit of slack in the lines. "Okay Cap'n. Skye," Ryder said into his microphone. "How's it look from up there?"

Skye hummed as she flew up a bit higher, before she looked ahead, using her Aviator goggles, which could zoom in on far away things. "I don't see any rocks out towards Seal Island," She replied. "Just avoid that one big rock straight ahead, and you'll get the Flounder out, no problem!"

"Got it!" Ryder replied while giving her a thumbs up, before turning to Zuma. "Hit it Zuma!"

Zuma nodded, before she and Ryder started revving their engines, trying to pull the Flounder forward, with the lines losing all slack.

Gavin and Turbot watched as they pulled and pulled and pulled on the ship, trying to get it free.

Then, Gavin and Cap'n Turbot felt it. The ship moved a tiny bit, before stopping once more.

"The boat's still hung up!" Turbot called out to Ryder and Zuma.

"Is there anything heavy you don't need on board?" Ryder called back, making Cap'n Turbot frown as he began to think. "The boat will float higher if it's lighter."

"No, I don't think so," He said, before Gavin spoke up, having remembered something.

"Um what about Wally?" He asked him, making his eyes widen.

"Oh yeah! Wally!" He replied before he ran over to the side door and opened it. "Wally! Nap time's over!" He then turned to Ryder as Wally began to shuffle over to the edge of the boat. "I've been studying the eating and sleeping of the adult walrus," Turbot explained, while Wally propped his front flippers up on the railing. "Turns out he sleeps and eats an awful lot!"

"Arf! Arf!" Wally said in response.

"I couldn't agree more!" Turbot replied before Wally pushed himself over the railing and into the water with a loud "SPLASH!" "Bye Wally!" Turbot replied as Wally started to swim away, waving his flipper back at his friend. "Feed ya later!"

This caused the boat to visibly float just a little higher.

"Heheh! That should help," Ryder said with a chuckle, before turning to Zuma again. "Rev it up Zuma!" He repeated.

As the two drivers revved their engines up once more and began to pull on the boat, Gavin and Turbot felt the boat shudder, before it slowly started to move again.

"Keep going!" Gavin called out to them as he watched the front of the boat get closer and closer to the water's edge on the left side, while Turbot stood at the back, making sure the ropes weren't in danger of breaking. "We're almost there."

Soon, the boat was back in the water, but not before a loud metallic "SCREECH!" filled the air for a couple seconds.

"Yay! The boat's off the wocks!" Zuma said as the two came to a stop and looked back at the boat, while Gavin headed over to the right side of the boat to look at it.

"Alright!" Ryder added with a smile.

"Don't celebrate just yet!" Gavin called out as he looked at the right side of the boat. "We got another problem."

"What is it Gavin?" Turbot asked him, while Zuma and Ryder started heading their way.

"We're sinking," Gavin replied as he pointed to a large hole in the hull of the boat, which was starting to fill with water. "That sharp rock over there rubbed against the hull as it was being pulled out, and cut it like it was a can opener," He continued as he gestured to a sharp rock nearby that looked like a fang.

"You appear to be correct," Turbot replied, before his eyes widened and he started running around the ship, waving his arms around with fright. "Help! Help! Help! I'm sinking!" he screamed, which confused them all.

Gavin then grabbed Cap'n Turbot by the arm and held him in place while looking at him in the eyes. "Calm down Turbot," he said to the man. "Calm down, it's alright. Everything will be okay. I'm sure the Paw Patrol can help us out," he continued as he turned to Ryder and Zuma. "Right?"

"Of course!" Ryder said with a smile. "You can count on us!" He then reached down and grabbed a blue and gray phone that was sitting in a socket in the dashboard of the ATV. Said phone had two light blue buttons on either end, and was a touchscreen. "I'm sure Reggie has something that can help us out," He continued as he tapped on the screen.

A few seconds later, Reggie spoke through the phone. "Okay Ryder, tell me what you need."

"Something to patch a big hole in the Flounder," Ryder replied.

"I'm on it! Awooo!"

"Good," Ryder said. "Skye, go ahead and head back to the Lookout to pick up Reggie."

"Right away Ryder!" Skye replied before yipping as she started flying back towards the Lookout.

A few minutes later, the phone let out a couple beeps, before Reggie started to talk. "I found some metal we can use to patch the hole!"

"Good. Skye's already on her way. She'll fly you out here in no time!" Ryder said, before Reggie hung up.

"Well that's good," Gavin replied upon hearing that. "Hopefully they get here soon," he continued, looking at the hole, while Turbot took several deep breathes to remain calm. "We've already gone down a little."

"Don't worry. They'll be back soon," Ryder replied, before he spoke into the microphone again. "Skye, meet us at the dock on Seal Island." He then detached the ropes from his ATV, prompting Zuma to do the same, before he turned to Gavin and Turbot. "We'll be right back," He said to them, before he and Zuma headed towards Seal Island.

"Okay," Gavin said as he watched them leave, before turning his attention back to the hole, and then to Cap'n Turbot. "Cap'n, where do you keep your pump?"

"Oh, right in here," He replied as he gestured to the room Wally had been in.

"Good," Gavin said before he entered it and saw that it was a storage room of some sort. He then spotted the pump, which was white and yellow in color, and grabbed it, before noticing that Turbot had grabbed a blue and yellow snorkel and mask, as well as a pink duck ring floatie. "What the heck are you doing?"

He got his answer soon enough, when Turbot began to scream "Abandon ship!" into the snorkel before he started running around the ship, which was starting to lean forward a little.

"Drama queen," Gavin said with a shake of his head as he walked out of the room with the pump, before heading to the rear of the boat. 'I'd stop him and tell him to calm down, but I have the feeling that won't work this time,' he thought, before spotting Ryder and Zuma heading towards them.

Ryder was now wearing some scuba gear and a white, full body wetsuit that had a red zipper going down the front and a matching mask. A large thick sheet of metal sat behind him, with each of its four corners having holes in them.

"Don't worry Cap'n Turbot," Ryder said as they pulled up next to the boat. "We'll get your ship fixed." He then put in his regulator, and grabbed the piece of metal before jumping in. Zuma soon followed, putting in a white-bone shaped regulator in her mouth.

Once she was underwater, her scuba pack opened at the sides, revealing two cylinders that had fans at the bottom, helping her move faster in the water.

The two Paw Patrol members swam over to the hole in the boat's hull, and Ryder set the plate over the hole, before pulling out a small saw to cut a matching hole in the hull. He then set a large screw in the hole in the metal panel, before making the wrench offered by Zuma, and tightening the screw.

Once they were certain the screw would stay in place, they repeated the process with the other holes, before high fiving each other and then swimming up to the surface, where they found Cap/n Turbot humming a small dirge as he prepared to jump into the water, while Gavin was setting up the pump.

"We did it dude!" Zuma said to Ryder with a smile.

"We sure did, Zuma," Ryder replied, while Captain Turbot took off the mask and floatie, seeing that he wouldn't need it. He then headed over to Gavin and helped him set it up, before turning it on.

As the pump started to empty the hull of the water in it, Ryder and Zuma got onto their vehicles and started towing them over to Seal Island.

As they went, Cap'n Turbot cheered. "Ha ha! You saved the Flounder!" He said, very happy that his beloved boat was now no longer in danger of going to the bottom of the bay.

"Yes, they did," Gavin said as he watched the pump, happy hat they were no longer in danger. 'And it was surprisingly enjoyable,' He thought to himself. 'I kind of want to see them in action again.'

Soon, they reached the dock on Seal Island, and Gavin saw that Skye and Reggie were waiting for them there, with Skye's helicopter parked on some nearby grass.

Reggie was wearing a green short-sleeve top with some pockets on the chest and an orange collar, a blue belt with orange pouches on them, green shorts, green sneakers with blue laces, and a large green backpack on her back, while a green and white baseball cap sat on her head, with the Paw Patrol symbol on it in green and her bracelet on her wrist.

Sky was wearing a short-sleeve pink top that hugged her curves and had a pale pink collar, a pink belt that had several pink pouches on it, pink shorts that hugged her curves, bright pink sneakers with white laces, and a large pink backpack on her back that had two bright pink oval shapes on the sides and the propellor symbol on the back.

'Wow, they look really cute,' he thought, before blinking a couple times and shaking his head. 'Woah there! Now is not the time to think like that! You can think about that later,' He continued before turning off the pump, as the last of the water had been pumped off. He then brought the pump back to the storage room, before he got off the boat with Cap'n Turbot, while Ryder and Zuma got off their vehicles.

Zuma then started shaking side to side, causing Reggie to step back a bit as she said, "Hey! Some of us are trying to not get wet here."

"Sowwy Weggie," Zuma replied, with Reggie just giving her a slightly annoyed look, letting her know that she wasn't really mad.

'Huh, so Reggie doesn't like getting wet,' Gavin thought with surprise. 'Maybe she's aquaphobic?'

"Thanks Ryder and Zuma," Turbot said to them gratefully as he walked over and shook their hands, with Zuma's tail wagging a bit, before he spotted Skye. "And Skye," He continued, shaking her hand.

"Ahem!" Reggie said, reminding him that there was another who had helped.

"Oh, right!" Turbot replied, with a chuckle, before shaking her hand. "Thanks Reggie. And thank you, Gavin," he said to him, who stared at him with surprise.

"Um, you're welcome," Gavin replied, having not expected to be thanked. "But I really didn't help that much."

"Oh, I disagree," Turbot said with a shake of his head. "You helped me lighten the Flounder, and pointed out the leak as well as get the pump, while I panicked. Without your help," he continued, gesturing to them all. "The Flounder would definitely, no, absolutely, be at the bottom of the bay."

"We're happy to have helped," Ryder replied with a smile. "And remember, whenever you're in trouble, just yelp for help!"

"Oh I will," Cap'n Turbot replied with a nod, before turning to Gavin once more. "I'm sorry that the magnificent tour of marine marvels was cut short."

"Hey, it's alright," Gavin answered him with a smile. "Things happen. You can take me on that tour some other time, after you get that temporary patch removed and the hole fixed up." He then turned to the Paw Patrol, while Cap'n Turbot nodded with understanding. "Any chance one of you can give me a ride back?"

"I can!" Zuma said with a smile. "Skye's taking Weggie back."

"Oh boy," Reggie said, not looking excited at all, while Skye chuckled.

"Good," Gavin said, before turning to Turbot. "Thanks again for the tour Cap'n Turbot! I look forward to seeing you again."

"I do too Gavin!" Cap'n Turbot replied with a smile as they shook hands. "See ya around!"

"See ya!" Gavin said as he followed Zuma over to her raft, before getting on after her.

"Hold on!" Zuma said as she revved her engine, before they started driving back to the mainland, prompting him to wrap his arms around her and press himself against her as they went, not wanting to fall off. As he hugged her, he made sure to keep his hands away from her chest or crotch, not wanting to be a pervert.

'Man does this go fast!' He thought as the wind whistled in his ears. 'Really fast!'

Soon, they arrived at the mainland, and she drove her raft up onto the small beach before stopping.

"Thanks Zuma," he said as he slowly got out of her vehicle.

"You'we welcome Gavin," Zuma replied with a smile, before she and Ryder started to drive back towards the Lookout. "See ya!"

"Later Zuma!" he called out, before his stomach growled, prompting him to look at his watch, where he saw that it was lunchtime.

"Huh, lunchtime already?" He said with surprise. "Well, I guess it's true what they say. Time flies by when you're having fun." He then started to walk back home, his stomach growling with hunger.

Later…

"Man these smell really good!" He said as he grilled some burgers on the grill, a blue apron tied around his waist. "I'll probably have some for dinner tonight too."

As he flipped them over, he heard Marble speak up behind him. "Um, excuse me Gavin."

"Yes Marble?" he asked as he turned around, and saw that Marble and Marsha were standing nearby, hungry looks on their faces. "Oh, hey Marsha," he said to the Dalmatian. "What brings you here?"

"Well, um," Marble began, before her and Marsha's stomachs growled with hunger, making them blush with embarrassment.

"I see," He said with a smirk. "You want some burgers?"

"Yes please!" Marble asked. "We all do!" This momentarily confused him, he spotted the other members of the Paw Patrol heading his way, making him chuckle.

"Well then, I better make some more," He replied as he reached over to the large bowl of burger meat he had brought out with him, before he started making more patties. "Go ahead and have a seat. The first ones are almost ready!"

"Yay!" Marble said happily as she and Marsha sat at a picnic table, with Marsha nearly falling off the end, but Marble grabbed her by the arm and stopped her.

"So, how many you want Marble?" he asked her. "One? Two? Four?"

"Five please!" Marble asked.

"'Five?'" He said with surprise, before chuckling. "Alright then," he continued as he finished making patties and ran inside, before soon returning with paper plates, plastic cups, and a large bottle of lemonade. "Here. You can drink this," He said as he set the items on the table, before he ran over to the grill and flipped the patties again, before taking them off and putting them on a plate.

"Thank you!" Marble replied as he put more patties on the grill, before he brought over the plate that had the cooked patties on it over to them.

He then turned his attention back to the grill, while the other members of the Paw Patrol arrived.

"Mmmmmm! This is so good!" Marble said with a smile as she bit into the burger she had just made. "You're a good cook Gavin!"

"Aw, thanks Marble," Gavin said, blushing a bit. "I try."

"Yeah, these are really good!" Marsha said as she ate her own burger. 'I'd like another one please."

"Well, help yourself," Gavin replied as he gestured to the plate of cooked patties. "There's enough for everyone."

As he continued to cook and the rest of the Paw Patrol started to eat, he thought to himself, 'Man, it's been a fun day, and it's not even my second day here! I wonder what else will happen while I'm here?'

Oh, he had no idea what was instore for him while he lived in Adventure Bay.

Well, this was an interesting chapter!

Can't wait to write more!

"Wellerman" is owned by Nathan Evans. Not me.

It's going to take me a long time to write chapters for this story. 1. Because there are so many. And 2, because I'm watching the episodes and changing them as I see fit, as well as writing original episodes.
