Chapter 2
April 26th could not come soon enough. Finally, we had come to the sight of the Shire. The place where the company would meet. Traveling with four young fairy women was not easy because the four of them liked flying around from time to time instead of riding the ponies that they had brought with them.
We had found Bag-end with no problems due to the blue mark that was upon the door. Father must have put it there as he had planned. But the question remained did the Hobbit that father had in mind join in on this quest or was it just a mistake?
We had of course arrived after most of the company had shown up. That was something that we weren't quite expecting.
The four fairies had no idea what to expect from the dwarves that they were about to meet. Well in that case I wasn't either because the only dwarf that I had ever known was my mother and she had long since passed away.
April 26th
The five women arrived in the shire. The darkness of night had drifted over the lands of the Shire meaning that the Hobbits were either at home about ready to eat or go to bed or they were on their way home from a hard day's work.
"This is the place?" Estrellita asked, looking around the Shire. This place reminded her so much of home so far that she most likely would not want to leave for this adventure with the dwarves.
Amaris nodded her head. "Welcome to the Shire. Come now. Bag-end is not that far away." She said with a smile. She used her wizard staff as a walking stick going up the path.
The four fairies followed behind her not wanting to lose their way to Bag-End being there for the first time.
Amaris opened the gate and walked up the path to the hobbit hole. She rang the doorbell and waited to see if someone would open the door.
The door opened revealing the hobbit that Gandalf had talked so much about to Amaris. "Can I help you?" He asked nervously.
"Amaris the Blue," Amaris said with a smile. "I believe my father is expecting us."
Bilbo's eyes went wide.
Amaris walked past Bilbo. "Come on ladies introduce yourselves." She said before she went to go and find her father.
"Calista at your service," Calista said bowing her head. Her violet-colored eyes twinkled with the knowledge that the hobbit wished that he could ask her about.
"Celinette." Celinette said.
"Dwynwen."
"At your service." The two of them said at the same time bowing to the hobbit.
"Estrellita at your service," Estrellita said bowing her head in respect towards Bilbo. If the one thing that fairy royals were taught was to show respect towards others.
The four young fairies came in. Soon enough they were removing the weapons that they carried on their small forms. They kept the fairy weapons close together to make sure that there was no mistaking of the weapons by the hobbit. They also removed the cloaks that they wore placing them with their weapons.
Amaris found her father in the dining area with twelve dwarves.
"Amaris my dear girl. I was beginning to wonder when you would show up. You're late." Gandalf said to his daughter.
Amaris shook her head. "A witch or wizard is never late. They arrive when they mean to. You of all people know that." She said as she removed her blue witch's hat from her head. She placed it next to Gandalf's grey wizard's hat. "Besides I am not as late… we are still missing someone aren't we?"
"Yes, but he'll be here."
Amaris nodded her head.
"Now I have to introduce you to the dwarves…. As well as the four fairies that you brought with you." Gandalf said with a nod of his head. He saw the four fairies come into the dining room. "Good evening ladies."
Calista smiled at Gandalf. "Gandalf wonderful to see you again."She had to admit she was quite glad to see the old wizard again.
"Ladies allow me to introduce you to Fili, Kili, Oin, GLoin, Bifur, Bofur, Bombur, Dwalin, Balin, Dori, Ori, and Nori." He said pointing to each dwarf when he said their name.
The twelve dwarves looked curiously at the five women who stood before them. They could not help, but wonder who they were and why they were here at Bilbo Baggin's home.
"Lads allow me to introduce you to my daughter Amaris the Blue."
Amaris bowed her head as she gripped onto the dark brown witch's staff that was in her hands that she hadn't gotten rid of just yet.
"And these four young ladies are fairies. Calibrate."
Calista bowed her head. She wore brown breeches, a corset that was dark blue underneath a blue tunic. Her wings were given the company which was see-through, but golden in color.
"Her sister Estrellita."
Estrellita bowed her head. She wore the same matching clothes as her elder sister wore and her wings were the same golden color.
"Celinette."
Celinette bowed her head. She wore the same breeches as Estrellita and Calista. She wore a purple corset underneath a purple tunic. Instead of gold wings, hers were silver.
"And her sister Dwynwen."
Dwynwen bowed her head. Her clothes matched her sister's clothing and her wings were also silver.
"Bless me. The tales are true then. Fairies do exist." Bofur said looking at the four-winged women in wonder.
The four fairies looked at one another before laughing.
"Yes, the tales are true," Calista said with a smile. "Very few creatures have seen us. For good reason too. But we promised to uphold our alliance with the dwarves just like our king wished us to."
Balin gave Calista a knowing look for he had seen golden-winged fairies before which were rare among them. He knew that they were of royal blood along with the rare violet-colored eyes. But he wasn't going to reveal that to the rest of the company. For he knew that the company would treat the two royals differently and that was not going to be needed on this quest.
"Now, I am sure that the ladies are hungry from their long journey to the Shire. Shall we make some room for them?" Gandalf asked with a smile.
