Welcome back, everyone. I attempted to make this longer, yet I could not think of a way to make the climax a tad bit longer. Enjoy and review.
Sunrise
Cat, Evabon and Labinnac all moved out of the way of the Giant's great foot before it could have down upon them. A second time did Grune attack the Colossus and yet again did the blast of energy do nothing. Had the living statue been capable of facial expressions, it likely would have taken on a most annoyed expression.
Before Grune could so much as fire a third blast, the Colossus kicked the Sabretooth, sending him flying across the river. Then turning its attention to Gard and Davaak, the Giant knelt and brought down a fist.
Faster than the arrow from the bow did the Evabon and the Labinnac run, the fist of the Statue coming down upon the ground like a boulder hurled from a catapult. They had to get away from this mad giant, but where could they go that would no endanger others? It wanted the Soul Stone and there was no doubt it would pursue anyone who had taken it.
And then, everything changed. With the rising of the sun, the Colossus grew ceased pursuing, straightened and to the astonishment of both Evabon and Labinnac, the Giant began to crumble to pieces, falling back like an individual who had been struck in the chest by an arrow, until finally the limbs, body and head and various pieces were all strewn about the landscape.
Tightening his grip upon the handle of his axe, Gard held up his other hand and stared at the Soul Stone, just as Davaak did. One of the most powerful things on Third Earth and even some living statue had wanted to keep it, but why? Perhaps that was something they were never to know.
Sighing, Gard looked Davaak in the eye and said: "Well, we have the Soul Stone⦠Now where is Bengali?"
