On his second day as a superhero, Shaun realized something about Bitzer's job he never thought about before: most of the 'so exciting' task of guarding others and being ready to jump into action, actually consisted on waiting for something to happen in the first place.

There was a reason why their sheepdog was always with a magazine or taking a nap when the only task left was watching over the sheep. Waiting was the most boring thing in the world, and in a job like this there was no option but to train one's focus so it could multitask.

Shaun still had to learn that. He got excited with the day full of action that was yesterday and had put his superhero suit on as soon as the sheep hesitantly scattered over the field. So far, Super Sheep's day had consisted of sitting over a branch of a tree, hidden between the leaves and observing nothing happening at all.

A good thing on one hand, since his family wasn't being bothered, but bad on the other because he was booored.

Finally to save him from that torture, from the corner of his eye Shaun noticed movement: a fuzzy yellow figure leaning over the gate underneath the tree.

He grinned, then stood up on the branch without a second thought.

Today Bitzer wasn't having the best of days, precisely. Trying to remain watchful while busy with tasks was something difficult alone, but now that he was informed of how the pigs had been on the hunt of victims for their pranks lately, and without him noticing at all? The extra effort that task required now certainly wasn't a path of roses.

Bitzer sighed. Well, all the got was a break for now, so at least he could rela-

He yelped at the sight of a sheep in red clothing suddenly handing upside down beside him. Between the scare and the leaves softly falling around him, Bitzer managed to recognize the sheep in a cape bleating a greeting . It was the superhero guy from yesterday!

Who, for some reason, had been hiding in a tree in their farm.

The weirdness didn't end there as the guy casually did a stunt from the tree to end sitting on the fence, only to just...start talking to Bitzer. A small talk out if the blue, without a drop of the usual hesitation of not knowing what to talk about with a stranger.

Bitzer didn't notice himself staring in utter confusion until the guy turned his head to him. The hero suddenly seemed to realize his odd approach as he widened his eyes and looked away. If Bitzer tilted his head a little, he could see the guy was grimacing as well.

The dog arched a brow. Again, it was weird, but Bitzer didn't want to make whatever this was awkward either, so he...slowly answered the guy's question. Not as confident as him, not with much idea of what to talk about, but it was something.

The hero's smile radiated relief.

They talked about anything that came to mind(the farm, yesterday's events, why the hero was there exactly). Bitzer still couldn't say he wasn't confused about the guy, dropping out of nowhere and being so talkative and friendly and...relaxed sitting with him of all people. Sheep weren't usually so trusty with strangers.

Kinda ironic, considering dogs were the ones said to trust anyone who showed kindness right away, and here was unable to not be wary with the guy. Super superheroes were cool, more so the idea of one visiting their farm, but Bitzer was worried.

The guy didn't seem to be there to do any harm, he had helped them a lot in just one day actually. It was just...having someone as talented as a superhero, able to do the job of guardian better and more striking than him, was sudden. Bitzer didn't know how to feel.

And on top of all, he just couldn't quite place why hero looked so familiar to him. The mask covering most of the guy's face wasn't of help certainly.

Bitzer's nose twitched. And was he wearing perfume?

Weird. So weird.

Despite all that, Bitzer found himself feeling not that awkward around the hero after a while. He couldn't explain it, but the guy had this...aura, it was easy to talk to him.

For that reason Bitzer decided to get some information from him, because he couldn't have someone so mysterious around the place without knowing who he was. Bitzer started with the simplest of question: Where was Super Sheep from?

Couldn't be from his own farm of course, Bitzer would know.

The hero tensed, hummed uncomfortable while looking away. He returned his gaze and bleated another question as his answer — Where did he think he was from?

Ah, so a game of guess it was? Bitzer liked those.

The dog put a paw under his chin. Where could a mysterious sheep in a red cape come from?

Narrowing his eyes for further concentration, he snapped his fingers as soon as an old conversation with the flock came to mind. Bitzer grabbed his checklist lying on the grass and searched between the pages, quickly finding the little map of the zone he had in case of emergencies. There was one spot circled in red, which was from the new neighbor farm that moved near them not long ago.

If Bitzer wasn't mistaken, they were rich(their pure-breed sheepdog really acted like they were at least), that seemed like a perfect background for a superhero to arise!

Whuffing, Bitzer showed the hero the map, then pointed far away where, if one squinted, a building could be seen — From there perhaps?

The sheep in red stayed quiet, not because that was right as Bitzer interpreted by that reaction, but because without meaning to, he had given the guy the perfect cover. The sheepdog didn't notice the mischievous grin of the sheep as he was too focused celebrating the smile victory on his mind.

Suddenly, Bitzer's smile at having guessed fell from his face when the hero got up, hooves falling hard on the grass. He looked at him straight to the eye, and the sheepdog gulped at thinking he might upsetted him by prying so much.

The hero bleated, hooves behind his back as he nodded — Perhaps he was from there...

He got closer to the dog. A normal distance for someone about to tell a secret to his best friend, but too close for a stranger like him. In a nervous motion, Bitzer held his checklist in between them so it would act as a shelf. His back coming in contact with the fence allowed no escape.

Then the hero, close like that, relaxed expression not changing at all as it settled on the sheep on the field, lifted a hoof to whisper at the dog — But they couldn't be spreading that information just like that. He was a hero with a secret identity, after all.

He looked back at Bitzer, who probably looked sweaty as ever before, and bleated again — Could he trust Bitzer to keep this between them?

The sheep in red put a finger over his mouth in a shush motion, then extended his other hoof for a pinky promise. His gaze, relaxed and with so much confidence on the dog like that...the wink just felt like the final blow and Bitzer couldn't help it, he blushed.

At feeling his mouth unable to mutter any words, the sheepdog barely nodded, lifted the checklist to hide the blush that had appeared. He reached out with his free pinky to complete the promise and get that circus over with. He really wanted earth to swallow him right now.

The hero from his part, seemed curious about why Bitzer was so nervous. Just as he was about to try look behind the checklist, Bitzer's dear watch rang to indicate his break was over. The dog chuckled, a little too loud and forced to be seen as normal, as he gave steps backs while muttering an attempt of an excuse.

Then, in a familiar situation, Bitzer ran away from there, leaving the hero behind to oly arch a brow at that.

Before Shaun could wonder what that even was about, the desperate cuckling from the henhouse served as a call for Super Shaun to go back in action.

Fellas is it gay to tease your best friend like usual but forget you're acting as another person, so the guy thinks you're flirting with him-
