On the third day of another guardian arriving to the farm, Bitzer unexpectedly found the chance of doing the saving that time around.

To sum it up, the flock had gotten particularly excited with the superhero saving them that evening, and when they got excited...they could be quite intense. Any thoughts on how unfair it was to see someone who did the same job as him get more attention quickly left Bitzer's brain as, like a group of paparazzi, the flock begun to chase the hero around with notepads and cameras on their hooves.

Seeing a sheep so distressed was enough to convince the dog to step in. Bitzer opened the storage room for the guy to hide when he turned a corner, then gave false directions to the flock to mislead them.

Once the door was closed behind them, the hero left his back fall on the wood as a tired yet relieved sigh left him. The sheepdog could only whuff out an apology for his sheep's behaviour before returning to the task of looking around the room.

As he searched, from the corner of his eye he saw the sheep -Super Sheep, as the others called him-sitting over a box on the floor, waving a hoof and bleating amused like a hidden meaning was behind his words— It was fine, it was the kind of thing any superhero had to deal with.

Bitzer's ear lifted in interest. In part because that bleaty chuckle sounded familiar, but mostly because, despite the thing from yesterday(which Bitzer insisted to himself he just had interpreted it wrong), it was still easy to talk to the masked sheep.

As the dog knelt down to dig his paws inside a box, he found himself keeping a casual conversation with the stranger once again — Oh, he went through this often?

Super sheep's answer quickly jumped from a 'No', to a 'Yes', to an incoherent babble that ended in him not really answering anything. For someone who acted so cool and smooth in the battlefield, the guy was pretty silly one you knew him.

Bitzer didn't notice himself smiling until the sheep spoke again, answering with yet another question as he gestured at Bitzer— Well, wasn't he a sheepdog? He must know how often these things happened!

Bitz put the box aside at not having found what he was looking for. He shook his head slightly, shrugging in an attempt to hide the discomfort in his tone— Not really. He...

Bitzer got up, gesturing at himself with a whuff and then at Super Sheep to compare— He wasn't a masked sheep that fell from the sky to save them precisely.

Just a simple sheepdog, who could only do simple sheepdog things.

It had been three days since that mysterious hero arrived and Bitzer only managed to catch the pigs in the act once, and it wasn't like those hooligans respected his authority nor his orders either. It was obvious everyone cheered at the superhero's presence because he actually could save the day.

Silence fell for a moment. The look Super Sheep suddenly gave him, concerned and filled with pity, made Bitzer realize he had said too much.

Before the dog could tell him to just forget about it, the hero got up, walked over him and started bleating eagerly— What?! But the farm expert there was him! Any task, any animal in danger, any problem as minimum as it was, their sheepdog was always ready to be there to help!

Bitzer could only blink as the guy grabbed him by the shoulders in a moment of eagerness. And if it wasn't embarrassing enough, Super Sheep just kept on complimenting him.

The hero's tone got softer then, his grip getting lighter, and the look in his eyes and smile suddenly looked...sincere— The sheep adored him. He did so much for them. No other dog could be their sheepdog but him.

It took another moment of silence for the sheep to notice the dog's bewilderment face, and as consequence, realize how close he had gotten to an stranger. He was quick to draw back his hooves and cough awkwardly, seeming nervous about not knowing where to go from there.

Deciding to finish his speech in what he considered a less overly-friendly note, Super Sheep softly patted Bitzer's arm with a wink and a grin— He was er- he was sure Bitzer was great.

The dog internally slapped himself to react at once. He found himself chuckling flattered, scratching the back of his neck and looking away in a gesture he hoped would make his blush less noticeable. All he could mutter was an attempt at a thank you. Did the guy really think all of those things with barely three days of knowing him?

Wait...

Bitzer looked back at Super sheep, brow arched and a finger pointing at himself as he whuffed— He...never gave him his name?

For a split second, the sheep smile's tuned nervous. He looked tense as he quickly pointed outside to indicate someone outside had given him that information. Not an out of that world reason, so Bitzer didn't get why his tail started wagging at the idea of the hero asking for his name.

As a thankful change of subject, Super sheep looked over at the box the dog had just been digging into a moment ago and bleated curiously— Was he looking for something?

Bitzer nodded and reached for the checklist over the work table. He showed the hero the list of chores, one of them still left to tick off: clearing the farm from any fallen leaves there.

At Super Sheep's blinks, Bitzer shrugged. He just couldn't find the tool he needed for it.

The dog turned around, once again looking over the dusty table where the silhouette of the leaf blower showed it had been there not long ago. A paw went under his chin as he frowned thoughtful. Really, who would steal a thing like that?

Behind him, Bitzer didn't notice the way the sheep grimaced as his hoof reached the orange gadget attached to his back.

After a moment, Super Sheep bleated to call his attention. Bitzer turned his head to the sight of the hero taking off his leaf blower(his source of powers), giving it a quick spin for show before presenting it to the dog as if it was a mighty sword.

Bitzer gasped— But- could he really?

At the hero's graceful nod, the dog reached for the object carefully, almost afraid of it. Having the source of a superhero's power in his paws truly was a once in a time honor. He didn't notice the sheep holding his laughter at the silliness of it all.

Suddenly, Bitzer knitted his brows together, paw going to touch the brand logo printed on the side of the gadget. The hero tilted his head, butBitzer simply waved his paw to indicate it was nothing.

Both went outside after making sure no crazy fanatics were in the hunt. Bitzer tried to turn on the leaf blower like one was supposed to. When it didn't work right away, the dog arched a brow. Well that was weird, it was almost as if-

Just to give it a lucky shot, Bitzer tried to turn it on again, this time holding the cord in place for a few seconds like, they had discovered, worked with their own failed model.

When that actually worked, Bitzer could only blink. It couldn't be...the same, could it? Them having the same model and color just had to be a coincidence. It all had to be a coincidence. All the clues would imply it was stolen otherwise.

Over the door frame where he was leaning, observing his friend, Shaun was too distracted to notice the dog's stare. He was thinking, about Bitzer, about that wagging tail showing he had managed to lift his friend's mood after their chat. The sheep didn't mean for Bitzer to feel sad just because a superhero was there, so of course, he had poured his heart into all he had said, thing he wouldn't usually do as just Shaun.

Despite the sincerity of it all, a mischievous part of him couldn't help but make him smile amused, but mostly fondly, at the fact that after all that time, compliments could always bring Bitzer back to his happy puppy self.

Though noticing the change in Bitzer's demanor from tense to shy, Shaun remained unware of how that simple look had made Bitzer temporary forget about any bad suspicious against him.

Actually, it had done the complete opposite.

That night, not long after the hero left, Bitzer had continued his search for the lost leaf blower around the barn, willing to try finding it to cease his suspicions.

It couldn't be, it really couldn't be that a hero so nice and honorable and friendly just went around stealing things. Yeah, the carrot he had seen on the first day was a proof against that idea but- but-

Bitzer didn't like how his brain was trying to ignore the facts.

The racket had been enough for the flock tucking into bed to wonder what was with him. Shaun, his best friend and right-hand in so many occasions, stepped in to tiredly gesture towards the storage room.

Bitzer blinked at seeing the leaf blower perfectly placed on the table, as if it had never left its place. His confused gaze returned to Shaun. How did he know what Bitzer was looking for?

A mere shrug was the only answer the dog could get before his friend buried his body into the nearest mattress. Despite his good mood in the mornings lately, Shaun didn't seem to have any energy by the end of the day. An odd thing, considering the farm had been shenanigans-free the whole week.

To top it all, if it wasn't for the light turning off for the day, he could've sworn he saw the tiniest tint of red on Shaun's eyelids.

Bitzer shook his head. First the hero, now his friend. He was definitely seeing things.

Sorry this turned a little 'dialogue' heavy in some parts. I try my best to keep eveything in charades and such like in the show but...eh, if the official sts books cheated a little on that then so can I

Also a curious fact: I originally planned to make Bitzer be more upset about the whole someone else stealing his job and getting more attention thing, but as I was editing I remembered that ACTUALLY happened in canon, and our doggo was more sad than anything :'c so ye this ended going thru the hurt/comfort trope instead lol
