Chapter 4: Gateway to the other side
Meanwhile in a hospital in Mobius City, Mobius, June 30th, 2018, 2:43 PM UTC -2...
An ambulance dashed through an empty street at 60 miles per hour. The siren was loudly going off. The street was deserted with a bunch of cars on fire and cars crashed right into light poles or even fire hydrants. The ambulance finally arrived at a hospital named the "Mobius Medical Center." The ambulance parked in front of the entrance when two men in white medical suits opened the doors in the back of the ambulance then carefully lowered a gurney out of the ambulance and rolled it into the hospital.
On the gurney was an injured citizen with cuts all over his body and ripped parts of his sports shorts and white t-shirt. His left leg was also severed below the kneecap and was rapidly bleeding into the gauze wrapped around the severed leg. The man was unconscious, but his nose and mouth were covered by an oxygen mask. Luckily, he was still alive.
Inside the hospital were employees and nurses and more injured citizens. One of the men pushing the gurney entered the hospital and said, "We managed to rescue another one."
"Although I'd say this guy had the worst luck. He's in very critical condition." Said the other guy who had a very Shamarian accent and had a darker skin tone.
A woman came up to the two and whispered, "Good job, you two." then continued to 7 other people behind her "Get this patient to the Emergency Room, stat!"
The 7 men grabbed on to the gurney and pushed it into the Emergency Room door. In the lines and lines of injured civilians, the yellow fox Tails was sitting in a chair playing a charming Sonic fan game called Sunky The Porcupine on his communicator watch. The watch displayed a small projector that displayed a screen 8.5 by 15-inch holographic screen. The hologram screen is colored blue and has a 4K resolution.
The communicator watch was on Tails' laps and he was able to move the video game characters using a blue Sega Neptune controller from that old seventh generation gaming console from 2006. It was old but it was comfortable and compatible with the watch via Bluetooth. Tails had a white gauze bandage around his forehead and around his left arm. Once in a while, he looked around at all the injured people. Seeing them with casts, dripping with blood; seeing them slowly suffer.
An employee walked up to Tails while holding a cup of water and asked "Water?"
Tails replied, "Thank you." and grabbed the water cup then took a small gulp.
A few seconds later, another ambulance arrived, and two men hopped out and entered while pushing another gurney with an injured citizen. The men continued pushing the gurney into the Emergency Room door as Tails' eyes followed the gurney and the injured citizen, with an extremely flat right leg.
Tails looked away and was shocked when he saw a group of kids being hugged by their parents and some of the kids were missing one of their limbs and completely embalmed in bandages. Tails started thinking about something when he opened up one of the compartments on the strap of his communicator watch and took out a bunch of his old dolls from years ago and then approached the disabled kids.
He handed them the dolls and told them individually "This is one of my old dolls. Since I'm too old for them, I want to give it to you. It'll be your best friend like it was with me. Enjoy it."
The injured kids thanked him and hugged the dolls. Tails walked back to his seat and sat back down. But suddenly, he and all the injured people and employees heard a loud explosion.
Tails didn't know what happened when he immediately remembered "(Sonic.)"
The yellow fox sprinted out of the hospital and looked up. He saw the smoke from another explosion on the side of a nearby skyscraper. Tails squinted and saw something incredibly small run into the smoke, jump off the building, and run on the side of a skyscraper parallel to the other one. Tails noticed something else incredibly small floating 28 stories high while following the jumping thing.
The flying thing started shooting purple energy spheres out of his hand at the other thing running on the side of the building. The energy sphere exploded but the running thing went into the smoke and came out of the other side. The small thing jumped backwards, rolled into a ball, and flew right at the floating thing and hit it in the face.
Tails turned on his communicator watch and zoomed into the small things. The watch took a zoomed-in holographic picture of the floating thing and analyzed it. The floating things looked like a hedgehog with a hoodie covering the top half of his body and head.
The watch played a robotic voice saying "Subject unknown. No existing record of the subject."
"What the..." Let out Tails as he raised an eyebrow. Tails then took another photo of the other small thing. The watch zoomed in and analyzed the picture.
Without much delay, the watch played another robotic voice saying "Subject identified as Sonic M. The Hedgehog."
Tails gasped as he heard the robotic voice. He looked up again and continued to see the fight.
The hooded hedgehog teleported in front of Sonic and punched him with his fist charging at him with a mini energy blast. Sonic blew up and fell off the building. The hooded hedgehog rolled into a ball and homed in on Sonic. The blue hedgehog got up slowly and was smoking from the explosion but wasn't fast enough to avoid the hooded hedgehog's attack. Sonic was crushed and was burst through the road into a sewage system under the street. Sonic landed in the sewage water and so did the hooded hedgehog.
The hooded hedgehog jumped out of the water and said "Aw, now look at this! My jacket is ruined! You deserve this!"
The hooded hedgehog reached out his hand and when it started glowing purple, the sewage water started rising and then flooded the entire sewage channel. Sonic was dragged by the current and couldn't control his movement. Sonic saw a pipe sticking out of a wall and grabbed on to it with both hands. The hooded hedgehog was surrounded by a bubble surrounding his whole body so he could keep himself dry. The hedgehog approached Sonic while he was struggling to keep his breath and hold on to the pipe.
"You look like you're struggling right now. How about I give you a hand?" The hooded hedgehog said to his opponent mockingly.
The hooded hedgehog reached out his hand and waited until Sonic reached out his hand but then, the hooded hedgehog's hand started glowing purple and made the pipe break off of the wall. Sonic was dragged away by the current and when Sonic reached a manhole on the ceiling, the hooded hedgehog raised the current speed and the height of the water until Sonic burst through the manhole and other nearby manholes were plucked out by the quickly rising water. The water began pouring out and flooding the streets. People nearby were alarmed and started running away while screaming and yelling. Sonic was launched 10 feet in the air after being pushed up by the rushing water then fell face-first on the asphalt. The blue hedgehog was coughing out water and was deaf from the water inside his ear. He still heard muffled screaming from civilians.
Sonic dug his pinky fingers in his ears and got the water out. He regained his hearing and finally stood up. He was about to take off his gloves to squeeze the water out when a fire hydrant slammed right into his forehead. Sonic stumbled back a few steps but was then hit by a car thrown at him.
The blue hedgehog was still standing when the car was kicked from the front then exploded. Sonic was slightly burned by the heat of the explosion and left his gloves, socks, shoes, and skin with black spots. Sonic started glowing blue and releasing blue visible gusts and breezes from his skin. He started running forward at high speed and came into the smoke of the explosion then came out the other side. He tackled a truck that was also thrown at him. Sonic started moving fast enough that time seemed to have slowed down. Sonic rolled into a ball and cut through the truck, finally coming out the other side. Sonic began moving even faster and then tackled the hooded hedgehog with his head.
Sonic started barraging the hooded hedgehog with punches and kept punching harder and faster. Sonic's fists started blowing and howling with even more blue wind. Sonic kept yelling at the hooded hedgehog and kept punching him until eventually his gloves were dyed red from his knuckles bleeding. Sonic jumped back and clenched his right fist. His right fist started glowing a very bright and solid blue and then a million gusts of wind started blowing out of his hand.
The blue blur finally dashed at an extremely fast speed, closed his eyes, and punched the hooded hedgehog in the face, hoping to blow his brains out. But when Sonic opened his eyes, he gasped and was shocked to see that his fist was grabbed by the hooded hedgehog's hand.
Sonic thought "(What the hell?! How did he catch my fist?! His hand wasn't in that position before I attacked him!)"
But the picosecond Sonic slowed down to make time flow normally again, he suddenly felt a powerful punch hit him straight in the middle of his face, breaking his nose, sending some of his teeth flying, and sending him flying then bursting through multiple buildings before being stopped by the MNN building then fell 200 feet to the ground.
Sonic landed with a thud and started coughing out blood and any teeth he still had in his mouth. He squeezed his nose and bent over by 40 degrees to prevent any blood from going down his throat. Sonic's eyes were blurry and tried to walk inside the MNN building, even with a limp leg, but then was kicked in the gut and launched 10 feet away. Sonic tried to get up but noticed the hooded hedgehog slowly walking towards him. Sonic tried to crawl on his back but was then grabbed by the throat. Sonic was gasping for air as the hooded hedgehog didn't let him have many breaths of air.
Sonic squinted and saw that the hooded hedgehog was bleeding from some of his body parts and managed to crack a smile.
"*cough* I-I see that did s-some damage to you, huh? That's a s-sight for sore eyes." Sonic said breathlessly.
The hooded hedgehog punched Sonic in the gut and yelled "Shut up!"
Sonic coughed out blood and some of that blood landed on the hooded hedgehog's hoodie, his broken goggles, and his bandana. The hooded hedgehog used his thumb to swipe away the blood from his left eye goggle and revealed a dim purple glowing light.
"Wipe that smile off your face. I'm even surprised that you can still smile after being one step away from being dead." Said the hooded hedgehog.
Sonic coughed out "It only takes less than 15 muscles to smile. And I ain't exactly going through rigor mortis. Take that."
The hooded hedgehog clenched his teeth and punched Sonic farther away. Sonic was now unable to stand due to his injuries. And the extreme exhaustion brought on by moving faster than time left him unable to even give a love tap, even less likely a punch.
The hooded hedgehog looked down at Sonic and said "Ever since I've read your story, I can see you have made many mistakes. But those are insignificant. But to me, you shouldn't have nosed around into the mystery of your little friend. It was a big mistake getting involved in that story. Because it's my business. If you poke around my business, I poke around yours. Get me?"
Sonic coughed out some more blood and managed to say breathlessly "H-How did you *cough* know about S-Shadow?"
The hooded hedgehog cracked a smile under his bandanna. "I know many things you don't, mate. But you have made a mistake poking around my business. Can't a guy get some privacy? You sure aren't the "Big hero" or the "Nicest hedgehog on the planet" I imagined you'd be after years of keeping that hate of me hidden away like a prepubescent child's porn collection. I have wanted my revenge against you ever since you trapped me in that hellhole. You disgraceful bastard!" The hooded hedgehog spouted out before starting to huff and puff after yelling.
The hooded hedgehog slowed down his breathing. Sonic was confused about what the hedgehog was talking about. He knew he had something to do with Shadow but with what? What did he mean by him knowing Sonic since some unknown amount of time ago? Did he misremember something? And what did he mean by laboratory? Did the hooded hedgehog have something to do with Eggman?
The hooded hedgehog finally calmed down and said "I may have gotten a little overboard with my ranting but that's okay. I had a lot to get out of my chest. Now that that's out of the way, this is where you get off, my friend. The best way to make a man suffer is by killing slowly and painfully. That's kind of the tactic I'm trying. Though not the way you think. And remember, tell your dear little friend I said..."Hello."'
The hooded hedgehog clenched his right hand very tightly until he opened his hand and revealed a baseball-sized ball of energy that was very dense and was releasing many purple sparks. The hooded hedgehog then threw the ball upwards and when it reached 50 feet, the ball exploded but then started spinning into a funnel pointing upward. The funnel then opened and became a large purple vortex with visible purple sparks and thick purple clouds. The vortex then slowly morphed into a spherical shape. Once the vortex manifested, the sky coincidentally turned dark grey and it started heavily raining. The dark grey clouds slightly covered the sun and lit up the sky with lightning strikes.
The simple ball of purple energy had turned into a rapidly spinning sphere of purple energy acting like a funnel-shape vortex. The inside of the vortex, when observed from where the hooded hedgehog and Sonic were; below the vortex, looked like the distorted and rapidly spinning image of a grassy plain area with a line of railroad tracks spanning for miles away, seen through a sort-of fisheye lens.
Sonic's mouth dropped when he saw the large vortex. He tried to crawl away but was grabbed by the throat again by the hooded hedgehog.
The hooded hedgehog slid down his bandanna to where he showed his hedgehog muzzle and whispered in Sonic's ear "See you on the other side."
Sonic had sweat going down his forehead and couldn't get a single breath. He felt like he was being choked.
After putting on his bandana scarf again, the hooded hedgehog hit Sonic in the forehead and knocked him unconscious. The hooded hedgehog looked up at the vortex and then threw Sonic's unconscious body into the vortex and the vortex then swallowed Sonic's body. The vortex was then closed seconds after Sonic was thrown in it. The hooded hedgehog stood there, still looking up at the sky. He then takes out a notepad from one of his jean pockets and also takes out a pencil. He flipped to a page with the title written as "Mobius Targets" and it also had two names written, one of them was crossed out. The names are "Shadow The Hedgehog" and "Sonic The Hedgehog." Shadow's name is crossed out.
The hooded hedgehog then crossed out Sonic's name and murmured "Alright. I finally got both of them."
The hedgehog puts away the notepad and pencil and was about to walk away when he heard a faraway noise from across the street. He squinted and saw that a random yellow fox was running towards him.
The hooded hedgehog was confused until he realized and whispered to himself "Tails."
The hooded hedgehog clasped both of his hands together and began focusing his energy into a ball. He unclasped his hands and revealed an egg-shaped energy ball. The energy ball wasn't lethal or gonna cause a huge explosion. But it was gonna release a flash of blindingly bright light and kick up asphalt from the road and cause a smoke cloud. It was a sort of mix between a flashbang grenade and a smoke grenade.
But he didn't notice that his notepad was very close to falling out of his right pants pocket. The hooded hedgehog threw the grenade and started the 5-second countdown as soon as it left his hand. Little did he know, the sudden movement he did to throw the energy sphere had thrown the notepad out of his right pant leg pocket. The energy grenade landed near Tails' right foot and was set off. Blinding Tails and covering him in grey smoke from the asphalt. But before the grenade exploded, Tails caught a glimpse of the hooded hedgehog. But when he regained his vision and ran away from the smoke, the hooded hedgehog had instantly disappeared.
Tails raised an eyebrow. Tails had been chasing after Sonic after picking up his signal. But Sonic is nowhere to be seen. Tails looked around the area but couldn't see Sonic. But suddenly, Tails accidentally steps on something. He looks down and sees it's a wet notepad laying on the floor, still being splashed by the heavy rain. Tails picked up the notepad and noticed how old it was. He flipped the pages quickly and noticed the pages were extremely yellowed, a result of paper ageing.
The cover of the notepad was also a bit discolored and had a small copyright date of the year 1987. Tails was confused. Why would a notepad from 1987 be laying on the floor on a rainy day? But when he opened the first pages, it had a bunch of scientific formulas that Tails noticed, when he scanned the writing with his communicator watch, were written by either a scientist or a chemical science high school student from 1988.
Tails also noticed the formulas were very outdated. Not very surprising because it was from somebody in the late 80's. But when Tails flipped to the next pages. He found a page that said, "Mobius Targets" and had Shadow's and Sonic's names written inside and were crossed out. Tails was confused until he noticed that the Mobius hit list was written months ago in 2017, the same year that Shadow disappeared.
The cross covering Shadow's name was written somewhere in November, the same month Shadow disappeared. Tails started sweating from the side of his face and then scanned Sonic's name. Tails gasped at the cross covering Sonic's name. The watch scanned the cross and calculated that the cross was written less than a few minutes ago.
The same time that the unknown hedgehog was present in that area. Tails was breathless and eventually said "S-Sonic...My god..."
Tails started squeezing the notepad until he crushed it from the sides. He had tears dripping from his eyes and landing on the ground.
Tails then looked at the sky and screamed "SOOOOOONIIIIIIIIIC!" and burst into more tears. Tails continued kneeling in the pouring rain while holding the old and worn out notepad. The rain began getting heavier, with the sound of rain drops crashing against the surface getting louder by the second. As if the sky sobbing along with Tails. What a terrible day for rain.
Meanwhile in a military camp in a secluded area in Death Valley, California, United Federations of America, 9:14 AM UTC -8...
A black attack helicopter zoomed across the large Mojave Desert and the scorching temperatures of Death Valley. But the desert wasn't as hot during the morning compared to midday and 2 PM where the sun is at its strongest. The helicopter had the G.U.N Symbol painted on both sides and had blacked out windows. There were 7 people. 2 of them were the pilot and copilot, 4 of them were soldiers; wearing black camo clothes and holding AR-15's with the G.U.N logo also painted on them, and an old man in a grey 2-piece suit with multiple badges, white gloves, grey hair, and with different colored eyes. The man was called Abraham Tower and he was the Commander of the international army, The Guardian Units of Nations. He recently flew from a meeting somewhere in Europe and Asia.
The helicopter was only a few miles from the G.U.N base.
The pilot looked back at the Commander and said "Mr. Tower, we are approaching the base."
"Good. I was already about to fall asleep with these bags under my eyes." The Commander said with a smile as he struggled to keep his eyes open.
The helicopter kept flying for miles until it came near the base. A call from the helicopter radio played.
"Detected aircraft, identify yourself."
The pilot grabbed the attached walkie-talkie and said "This is Pilot Markman, heading towards the Death Valley G.U.N Military Camp. Piloting the Chopper 47-AK. The Commander is on board."
The radio responded "Roger, Chopper Sigma-Alpha-2, you are clear to land. Permission granted."
The helicopter continued flying inside the base and then slowly lowered and finally landed on a helipad. The helicopter blades stopped spinning and the Commander, and his soldiers got off the Chopper. The Commander when he got off the helipad, soldiers looked his way and saluted him.
"Welcome back, sir!" Said all the soldiers at different times.
The Commander made a lowering hand motion and said, "Thank you."
The soldiers put their hands down and walked away. The Commander dug around his pockets and took out a small package branded "Redwood Cigars." He opened the box and took out a dark red cigar. He put it in his mouth, took out a lighter, and lit the cigar. He took a big breath and then before exhaling, he took out the cigar to blow out the smoke. He started walking to a 3-story tall building which was his office building. He went inside and walked down a hallway and arrived at the front office.
There was a lady behind the front desk and said, "Welcome back, Mr. Tower."
"Thank you, Mrs. Sanchez." The Commander said, walking past her.
He walked through another hallway and opened the door to his large office, surrounded by glass windows and the G.U.N Control Center, filled with computers, massive screens and employees. He sat down in his chair and saw that someone had already left a coffee cup on his desk. He grabbed it and took a large sip.
He thought to himself "(Ah, it's good to be home.)" and sat his legs on top of his desk.
He turned on his computer to write some reports when he heard a knock on his door, just outside the office.
He touched a button on the left side of his desk and talked into a nearby microphone "Who is it?"
The speaker that was next to the button said "Olivia Sanchez, sir."
The Commander pressed the button again and said "Alright, come in."
The door opened and then the woman with a black business suit and black heels from the front desk came into the office. After coming in, the woman closed the door behind her.
"Good morning, Sanchez. What is your business here?" Asked the Commander.
Olivia responded "Well sir, there's a visitor waiting for you in the waiting room. I think it's something very important."
The Commander spoke "Is that so...who's our visitor?"
Olivia had a drop of sweat slide down her forehead. She started to mildly bite her lip.
"Umm...It's...just an important visitor. Just an important visitor. Y-yeah." Said Olivia with a bit of a stutter.
The Commander raised an eyebrow. "I KNOW it's an important visitor, you just told me, but be specific, Sanchez. Tell me, what is his or her NAME?"
Olivia bit her lip harder. She felt like she was sweating buckets. Her hands shivered and she felt like crying.
Olivia spoke "L-Like I said, sir. It's an important visitor. N-Nothing more to say."
The Commander clenched his teeth, stood up and slammed his hands on his desk, and spoke in a condescending tone "There is more to say, Olivia. Tell me, who is this visitor?! You're making this harder than it needs to be."
Olivia started shivering harder and biting her lip harder until it started bleeding. She felt a pain in her head and gut.
"S-Sir, l-like I said, it's just an i-important visitor. I recommend you just let him in. You're making this even harder than it needs to be." Olivia said while struggling to keep her face dry from all the sweat she's dripping with her hand, already moist with sweat.
The Commander clenched his teeth and slammed his hands on his desk really hard and knocked his coffee cup off of the desk, causing it to break and spill coffee on the floor.
"OLIVIA SANCHEZ, JUST TELL ME WHO THIS DAMN VISITOR IS! I'M NOT LETTING HIM IN UNTIL YOU TELL ME WHO HE IS!" Yelled the Commander in pure anger.
Olivia started shivering faster and faster and kept sweating buckets. Her business suit was completely drenched in sweat and her lip was bleeding and her mouth was covered in blood. Olivia then stopped shivering and started quietly whimpering. The Commander huffed and puffed trying to catch his breath when he looked up at Olivia and gasped breathlessly.
Olivia's eyes were bleeding severely and so was her mouth. Her suit was mysteriously drenched in blood on her lower chest in the shape of a somehow perfect circle. Olivia stopped whimpering and then dropped to her knees. She then fell face first to the floor and wasn't moving. Her body left behind a chest-sized pool of blood. The Commander's eyes widened in fear and couldn't catch his breath. He knew that she was dead. But why?
"(What the fuck?! What happened to her?! Who the hell did this to her?!)" The Commander thought as he stared at Olivia's cadaver.
Suddenly, he heard the creak of the door opening. He looked up and saw the door opening slowly by himself. There was no one behind the door or in the hallway. Abraham walked in front of his desk and completely opened the door. He still couldn't see anyone. But something caught his eye. A hand was peeking out of the right-pointing perpendicular wall connected to the hallway. The hand was dressed in a white glove and he could also see part of a jacket sleeve.
The Commander was clueless for a few seconds until he realized what he was looking at. His eyes widened again in fear and instantly slammed the door closed. He took a few steps back and looked back at his desk. He saw a Desert Eagle sitting right next to a desk lamp. He grabbed it, cocked it, and pointed it at the door. He was breathing really quickly, to the point of hyperventilating. Both of his hands were shaking, struggling to keep his grip on the gun.
He pointed at the door for what seemed like forever. He kept his index fingers on the trigger until he heard a voice from outside say "Hello? Is anyone there? Commander?"
The Commander yelled "Leave me alone, you son of a bitch! JUST DIE, ASSHOLE!" and started shooting the door.
The bullets broke through the wooden door and the loud bangs could possibly be heard from the front office at the entrance. He continued shooting bullets until he ran out of magazines to reload, even with specially designed Desert Eagle magazines that could hold more bullets. The Commander laid his Desert Eagle on his desk and took another step back and then gripped the front side of his desk with both hands. He still shivered in fear and was starting to sweat buckets, his suit starting to get stained from all the sweat.
The Commander murmured under his breath "Please be dead, please be dead, hope you're already in hell, you bastard...Please be dead..."
But when he was about to sit back down, he was startled by the sound of thunder and lightning from outside.
He raised an eyebrow and thought "(Huh, that's weird. Usually in Death Valley, it rains less than 2 inches a year in the desert wasteland. Sounds like a downpour out there. The rain's so loud, I can still hear the water beating down on the ceiling even in my soundproof office. Not to mention, the thunder and lightning.)"
But when he was about to sit in his chair again, he stopped when he saw the windows surrounding his office be covered from the outside by sheets of metal. The whole windows were covered by sheets of metal. He was confused as he never touched the button under his desk that lowers the metal sheets. He kneeled and pressed the button but to his confusion, the button didn't work. He pressed it faster and faster until he started mashing on it. But it didn't work. Suddenly, the button electrocuted him, and the button broke off of his desk.
The Commander squeezed his hand, trying to calm the pain. Mr. Tower stood up and looked around his office. He walked to the door and opened it slightly. He didn't see anyone outside. He then completely opened the door and still didn't see anybody. Nobody was behind the wall. The Commander was too nervous to check so he closed the door and started walking back to his desk. But the second he turned around, he jumped and gave out a scared but still deep-voiced yelp.
Commander Tower saw a hedgehog with goggles, blue jeans, a brown jacket, and a face bandanna just sitting on his chair, putting his feet on top of the desk. The Commander immediately grabbed the Desert Eagle and pointed it at the hedgehog.
"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE?! WHY DON'T YOU EVER LEAVE ME ALONE, YOU BASTARD?!" The Commander screamed at the top of his lungs.
The hooded hedgehog put his hands up in the air jokingly and said "Whoa, hold on there, Abraham Lincoln. I thought we were buddies. We struck a deal a couple months ago, we still keep in touch, today I come visit you, and this is the greeting I get? You're a bad friend, you know that?"
The hedgehog looked over the desk and saw the corpse of Olivia Sanchez. "Oof, that sure does look bad. I'll be a pain in the ass to clean that up, huh?"
The Commander kept pointing the gun at the hooded hedgehog and stuttered "S-Shut up, I'll make sure you end up with a skull full of bullets! I never wanted you here in the first place. You mess with my top soldier, and I mess with you! You understand?!"
"Ok, ok, let's just all calm down. Please, drop the gun. We all know you don't have any more bullets or magazines. It's like pointing a sword at me but it's a cut-off sword that only has the hilt. It's useless. Just calm down before I make you collapse, Twin Tower." The hedgehog spoke in a joking manner.
The Commander finally lowered his gun and dropped it on the floor. He clenched his fists and clenched his teeth as well.
"What do you want, you monster?" Asked the Commander.
The hooded hedgehog started looking off somewhere and started thinking.
He asked himself quietly "What was I gonna ask him? Oh yeah, that's what!"
The hooded hedgehog walked up to the Commander and held out his hand.
"I want to thank you for that interview you did about a certain someone's disappearance almost...um...oh yeah, 7 months ago. You kept your promise. You might not be the best friend in the world or the nicest, but you certainly keep your word. Your word is your bond. That's something that I love about you." Said the hooded hedgehog to the Commander with a goofy smile. The Commander suddenly grabbed the hedgehog's hand, twisted his arm behind his body and slammed him to the wall. The Commander used his other hand to hold the hedgehog's head on the wall.
"DON'T THANK ME FOR THAT, YOU DEMON! YOU MADE ME LIE TO THE WHOLE WORLD, LIE ABOUT MY BEST SOLDIER, THE ONLY TRUE FRIEND I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE! ALL SO YOU CAN ERASE THE EVIDENCE OF YOUR CRIMES AGAINST THIS WORLD! ALL SO YOU COULD GET OFF SCOT-FREE AND NOT GET CHASED AFTER BY THE LAW! WHAT KIND OF A HEARTLESS DEMON ARE YOU?!" The Commander yelled at the top of his lungs and with heavy tears rolling down his eyes.
The hooded hedgehog sighed and said "You, sir, are sounding very pathetic right now. And those tears of yours also make you look pathetic. You still haven't let go of that, huh? It was my duty to dispose of him, he posed a threat to my cause. My master's cause. I don't break promises like that. Again, my word is my bond. It happened a long time ago, so what? All of this is for a good reason. You just don't understand that! And I'm too busy to even explain it to you thoroughly because you're probably gonna keep interrupting me to whine. Just calm down. You did something for me, and I am thankful. I owe you a big one, brother!"
The Commander growled in anger at the hedgehog. He raised his hand to punch the hooded hedgehog when the hedgehog swung his right leg and kicked The Commander's knee. The Commander stumbled over and was punched in the face multiple times then stumbled backwards after being hit in the face by the hedgehog's kneecap. The Commander fell on his desk and fell on the floor. The Commander was grabbed by the collar and lifted up a few inches.
The hooded hedgehog started screaming in a much deeper voice "You have no idea who you're messing with! I'm unstoppable, unpredictable, invincible! And with how much evidence I've managed to erase of myself, I could say I'm invisible to the world! Don't mess with me, or I'll make sure the world doesn't have their precious international army anymore! You got that, old man?!"
Abraham nodded slowly while shivering in fear.
The hooded hedgehog smiled and said in his somewhat high-pitched voice again "Good choice, friend. Well, I'll be making my leave. I've got some important business to attend to now. So don't expect me to visit as often." Then stood up and walked towards the door and approached the light switch next to the door.
"I love this little trick." Said the hooded hedgehog before he turned off the lights and everything went pitch black. The Commander didn't move since he knew he could trip on anything. But instantly, the lights went back on and the windows were uncovered by the metal sheets. The hooded hedgehog had just disappeared while the lights were off. He also noticed that any furniture that was knocked over or broken during the scuffle had been repaired and put back in their spots. It looked like nothing happened to them at all. He was confused until he heard groaning coming from the floor. It was Olivia's corpse which suddenly was moving again. The Commander was quiet. Olivia stood up and was clutching her head.
"*groan* Wha...What happened? What...What am I doing in the Commander's office?" Groaned Olivia as she regained consciousness.
The Commander was shocked to see her completely clean. There weren't any blood stains on her clothes. Olivia noticed the Commander staring at her and jumped at the sight of him.
"Whoa, Commander! Umm...I can explain...Aw, forget it. I can't explain. Sir, what am I doing in your office?" Olivia asked while looking around.
The Commander remained silent until he asked "Wait, weren't you..."
"Was I what? What happened while I was out?" Olivia said confused at the Commander's question.
"Well, I...It's just...When you...Uhhh...Oh, forget it. It's nothing." Stuttered the Commander.
Olivia ignored the question and just walked back to the front desk. The Commander was confused but was glad she was alive again. The Commander walked to his desk and sat down on it. He turned on the radio to listen to some music to calm down. When suddenly, a news report played.
The news reporter said "Good afternoon. Breaking News, Sonic The Hedgehog, the recently college-graduated, 27-year-old, leader of the powerful army The Freedom Fighters and international hero, has disappeared. He is obviously best known for being Earth's protector against the mad scientist, Dr Ivo Robotnik. Also known as Eggman. Sonic is also well known for establishing "The Freedom Fighters" in 2004, when he was just 13 years old. An international agency of heroes that protect the world from evil. The cause of Sonic's disappearance is currently unknown as well as his current whereabouts, but eyewitnesses say he was involved in a large-scale fight that resulted in many city blocks being left completely demolished.
"Destroyed cars blocked off intersections and roads. Office buildings, including the Mobius National News building, were evacuated. It first started when a large portion of the city center was destroyed by an unknown energy blast launched from an unknown source. It is unlikely it was from a terrorist attack, utilizing a satellite. And it's questionable if Dr. Robotnik was responsible for the attack. But whatever it was, it managed to leave almost half the city in shambles and totaling a not-exactly-record-breaking number of 1000 casualties, and many more injuries. When the broadcast ended, The Commander clenched his hands and hit his desk with his right hand. He then put his hands over his eyes and started quietly crying. He pulled on his hair and continued sobbing. Abraham felt miserable and felt like everything was his fault. The world was destined to be put into chaos now that its greatest heroes were now gone. First Shadow, then Sonic. The Commander felt just as miserable as Tails.
Now that Sonic is gone thanks to the hooded hedgehog's mysterious powers, the fate of Mobius and the world is left unknown. G.U.N lost its best soldier 7 months ago and the world just lost its greatest hero. What happened to Sonic and Shadow? What will eventually happen to the world now that it's even more defenseless? Will the world and Mobius fall into chaos?
