CHAPTER 12: MONSTERS UNLEASHED

After the sun had set in the world of the dinosaurs,a brightly lit full moon hung in the sky as silence fell upon the land while its inhabitants headed off to sleep. The mountain that Marie and her kind had once lived under had finally managed to bring its rampage to an end,as all that remained of its eruption was a thin line of smoke that slowly danced around in the air. The air-polluting ash had also managed to settle down,with all that remained of it being an almost snow-like powder that lay on the mounds of debris and hardened lava. Once again an almost pin drop silence filled the air until something had happened under the debris.

*CRACK*

A large paw with razor sharp claws at its end suddenly burst out of the ground with tremendous force and was accompanied by the sound of thunder. This was quickly followed by the rest of the creature's body bursting out of the ground like Saurus Rock and the light of the moon revealed who it was.

Maul like his daughter that had awakened before him was covered with bruises,cuts and ash from all over his body as he let out a painful yet triumphant roar,he survived the event that nearly threatened to wipe out what remained of his species and put his plan of conquest to an end,but it didn't.

Maul was so busy writhing in pain from his injuries that he almost didn't notice that he was now above his underground prison as he looked up at the moon with a deer in the headlights look on his face. After years and years of living in a world of darkness,he was finally free and he had a plan to continue. His attention would then be drawn to behind and around him as the rest of the Fire Breathers steadily started to awake,their bodies also being covered in cuts and bruises.

Crystal and Maul's mother were among these two as the former asked in a groggy voice while she helped up her mother in law "Are you okay Granny?" to which the old one replied with a snarky tone "Eh these old bones have survived worse. Looks like we're finally out,and all it took was that mountain having a little fit to make it happen."

"The white circle,it's been so long since I've seen any of this." remarked Crystal in awe stricken glee as she glanced up to the night sky before the rest of the herd started murmuring amongst themselves,they also couldn't believe that they were finally free of the underground life.

"I don't see Marie anywhere. Do you think she made it out?" wondered Granny when she noticed that Marie wasn't present to which Crystal optimistically replied "I told her to find the Great Valley and that she'd be safe there. Assuming she's made it,she must be waiting for us."

"The Great Valley huh? Maybe now I can check out the place without worrying about it burning down." chuckled Granny only for Crystal to whisper with worry as she glanced over at her husband looking down at the dirt "I wouldn't be so sure." Maul couldn't even bring himself to worry about the whereabouts of his daughter,it didn't matter to him anymore because now he had the perfect opportunity to finish what he started as a faint smile began to form on his face,and then it morphed into a quiet chuckle,then it got louder and louder with every passing second before it turned into a terrifying and malicious cackle.

The once chattering and ecstatic herd was now completely silent as their attention turned to their now howling leader. Excitement over their newfound freedom had now turned into fear because they knew what they would have to do and they knew they would have to follow their leader to the ends of the Earth if they had to,all under the risk of death if they defied him.

This was the last straw for Crystal because she now saw that nothing was gonna stop Maul from attempting to get his revenge as she frantically whispered to Granny "Come on we gotta go. We need to warn the valley!" to which the elder instantly agreed "You got it sister!" before the two of them quietly snuck away into the night sky.

"FINALLY!" cried out Maul with complete and utter glee as he turned around to face his subjects with a razor sharp grin "I HAVE WAITED LIFETIMES FOR THIS DAY! OUR PRISON IS NO MORE AND THE GREAT VALLEY LIES WITHIN OUR GRASP! WE WILL SHOW OURSELVES TO THE WORLD AND THEY WILL FEAR US LIKE THIEVES IN THE NIGHT AND DIE KNOWING WE HAVE TAKEN THEIR PRECIOUS VALLEY FROM THEM! THERE SHALL BE A GREAT FIRE ON THAT DAY,SUCH THAT HAS NEVER BURNED OR WILL BURN AGAIN! BIG WATER WILL BOIL,SAURUS ROCK WILL CRUMBLE AND THEIR SKIES WILL BLEED! THE AGE OF THE FIRE BREATHERS BEGINS NOW AND ALL OF EXISTENCE SHALL BE MINE!!!!!!!!!"

A large pillar of fire burst out of Maul's mouth as it pierced the sky like a thunderbolt accompanied by the sound of thunder,and the terrified herd fearfully bowed to their leader.

I might have already announced this but Maul is voiced by Jeremy Irons.

Crystal is voiced by Gal Gadot.

Marie is voiced by Hayden Panettiere.

Granny is voiced by Wanda Sykes
