Chapter 4: Losing It & A Surprise.
Somewhere in the countryside of Fiore, we see Team Natsu (with an exception of Lucy, Wendy Carla that is) are travelling by a wagon cart that is being pulled by a giant grey and white warthog like creature in which causes the fire dragon slayer to fall ill as always while lying face down on the seat of the cart. Happy was fanning him with the flyer that they chose from the request board for their job that is in a small town called Cielo Olivastro that is located in the south of the nation.
"Man, it really does suck to be a dragon slayer." Gray said with his arms folded.
"Yep. I always hope that there is somewhat a cure for it so that his kind doesn't have to go through this every single time." Erza said with her eyes closed.
"His kind?"
"Didn't you forget Gajeel, Sting, Rogue, Laxus, Cobra and Wendy?"
"But Cobra's still in prison you know. Along with the rest of the Oracion Seis."
"I know. But still, I wonder if there are any places that has that cure."
"Maybe the old man from Mao Shan might have one."
"If he does, then why didn't Porlyusica ask him about it. So that he and the others don't have to suffer this no more."
"Couldn't agree more."
"Are... We... There... Yet...?" Natsu asked while he's still lying on the seat, feeling completely blueish.
"You can pull this off Natsu, just hang in there." Happy said while still fanning him with the flyer.
"How... Long... We... Have... Left...?"
"We only have 2 minutes left to get to the town."
"Oh... Damn... It!"
"Oh boy. Let's just hope he doesn't barf in here or else?" Gray said.
"Luckily. This wagon's got some emergency supplies underneath these seats." Erza said.
"Now that's good news."
"Say. *Examines Gray sternly* Do you really have to strip at this hour?"
"*Looks down* AHH!"
Once they've got to the small town, they wagon stopped and the wizard team got off while Natsu still feels nauseous but was relieved about it. The four then gaze around the small town where they all got stares from the residents who did indeed recognised them as the members of the famous guild in Magnolia due to their marks on them.
"Hey. Aren't they from Fairy Tail." the male resident whispered to his friend.
"Yes they sure are, I've also saw that their lighting magic friend defeated one of the Ten Wizard Saints during the Grand Magic Games." the male resident 2 repiled. "And also that pink haired dude defeated The Twin Dragon Slayers of Sabertooth all by himself."
"Wow. I can't believe it, Fairy Tail! Here in Cielo Olivastro. That woman with the armor looks so amazing. My favorite thing about her is when she took on 100 monsters all by herself, ooh I need to get her autograph." the female resident said.
"Now, now, they're here for a very important job. You can do that once their finished." the female resident 2 said.
The entire residents then started to talk about the team along with the famous guild. Not wanting to listen even more, Team Natsu kept on walking until they've reached to the town hall in which is guarded. Once they've shown the guards the flyer and the guild marks, they were led to the office where they've meet a person who appears to be in his late 60s with short sky blue silked hair with a goatee to go with who happens to be the mayor of this town. He was wearing a white dress shirt, a grey tie, a grey waistcoat, grey pants and a pair of white and grey tic tac shoes. He scanned each of the team one by one.
"So you must be the team from Fairy Tail yet I've heard about." the mayor said. "I'm Marius Saturnini, the mayor of this beautiful town."
"It is a pleasure to meet you Mr. Saturnini." the armoured mage bowing to the mayor. "I'm Erza Scarlet, these three here are Natsu Dragneel, Gray Fullbuster and Happy."
The fire dragon slayer, the ice mage and the exceed bowed to the mayor after the introduction.
"Ooh that's an interesting team you guys pulled off together." Mr Saturnini said.
"Yes it sure is. We also have three more members in this team too." Erza said.
"I see. Where are these other three?"
"They had to stay at the guild to take care of this young man who me and the girls found has suffered from these horrific injuries."
"Really? That's is absolutely shocking to hear from. How is this young man doing?"
"He's fine but still unconscious at the moment."
"That's good to hear. Reminds me when me and my team of four travelled to this small strange and yet creepy island called Motu O Puao to complete this challenge that never been complete by anyone nor even a since it existed from the beginning."
"Do you mean the gigantic door that leads you to this mysterious labyrinth where it contains about 20 levels with difficulties but nobody gotten through 12 as that's the hardest one right?" Natsu asked.
"Yes that's the one, many group of mages risk their lives getting past it but some are killed while others forfeited by pulling a gold string attached to their arm and stuff." Mr Saturnini explained.
"Wow. That seems to be something I would do."
"If I were you, I wouldn't even go there. You've heard about before, right?"
"Okay guys, now let's get back to the job we're focusing on." Erza said.
They all agreed as they went back to sticking with the job request that Team Natsu accepts to do.
Later...
The Fairy Tail team were sitting on the brown couch while the mayor was sitting on the armchair. While he was explaining the disastrous events that occurred in the town. He was telling about these small parasitic insects that comes at night and started sucking the whole town's fresh and ripe fruits that they've spent alot of time, growing them to market their products.
"And there you go, that's the reason why I had to send this flyer to your guild." the mayor said. "These monsters need to be stopped once and for all."
"Don'y worry. We'll get rid of these fruit sucking libellule parassites even if it kills us." Erza said. "Alright team. Let's go!"
"ALRIGHT! I'm already fired up!" Natsu said.
"Me also but all iced up for this." Gray said. "Looking forward to destroying their queen along with their nest."
"Aye." Happy said. "And then will get some delicious fish they have here."
"Okay boys. Let's go off then shall we." Erza ordered as the team got up from the couch and then make an exit.
"I really, really hope they've pulled this off." Mr. Saturini thought. "As I've heard their guild is really reckless and implusive from their past requests."
Back at Magnolia...
Inside the Fairy Tail guild hall, the members still continues on what they're doing as usual. Mirajane was doing all the cleaning while Kinana was bringing food and drink to each and everyone of them. Cana was sitting at the bar counter downing her mug of beer in which is her 22nd time to consume it. While she finished, she hold the mug up and waved it at the takeover barmaid who was still cleaning the counter.
"Yo Mira! Fetch me some more of that good stuff!" Cana said.
"You're really sure up for some more." Mirajane smiled as she refilled another and gave the full mug back to her.
"Oh yeah I'm always been up for it and will remain til the day I perish."
"*Giggles* While your soul gets up there, you will down the fountain of all types of alcohol for eternity as you were dreaming all about it while you were passed out."
"Hey! What did I say about watching me sleeping while I was having a wonderful dream?"
"Hehe! Sorry, I just thought it was cute."
Cana blushes at that statement as she resumes her compulsive drinking. Mirajane then later went back to what she do usually.
"Hey Kinana! Need more of that fried chicken with the special sauce!" Droy said.
"Coming right up!" the purple haired waitress responded.
"Seriously dude. When you gonna go on a diet?" Jet asked.
"What did I told you before Levy and her team came back from Tenrou Island?" Droy said.
"You're still thinking that you're physically fit by making me look at your flabby arms. Well you're not, you look like you're about to explode in a second."
"Shut up! I was just depressed alright, what should I do? Forget about that so called island invading dragon incident?!"
"NO! Just eat less and work out, that's what you need!"
Levy shook her head while her teammates continue to go at it with each other. She decided not to get involved this time around as she went back reading her book.
"It's been a while since Natsu, Erza, Gray and Happy left this morning for a request." Pantherlily said.
"Beats me. Lucy, Wendy and Carla chose to remain here as they are in an infirmary room taking care of that weirdo." Gajeel then starts eating a big bowl of screws.
"Weirdo? How can you call him that if he is still unconscious since yesterday noon?"
"Because I like to call any stranger whatever I like, plus I'm not really that sure if we can trust him once he gets out of that slumber."
"Come on now, he just got viciously hurt yesterday, there is no possible way he can do that."
"Or else?"
"Or else what?"
"You'll see, you all see."
Juvia was behind the pillars, feeling completely down due to missing her bright and shining armour who went on a mission with his team.
"Please make sure my special man and my good friends makes it out there alive." the water mage said to herself.
But then all of a sudden the doors burst opened, causing everyone to turn their attention towards it. They see Team Natsu got back from their job but they don't look too happy about it, Gray was the first to stumble upon the guild in which made Juvia feel super gleeful as 'her' man came back. Then comes Natsu, then his exceed friend Happy and last but not least... Erza.
"I hope you're happy for what you have done!" Gray shouted angrily. "Because of you, it cost us 15,000,000j that we were supposed to be rewarded with."
"What are you're talking about 'what I've done'?! You're the one that froze that stupid queen in the first place!" Natsu shouted back.
"If only you had listen to what I said and not use your Iron Fist Of The Fire Dragon!"
"Oh! Would you like me to give you one instead huh?! Ice Pop!"
"Then give it to me then! Mr. Pants-On-Fire!"
While they were about to start to go round one in a big fight, Erza pushed them to the ground and making both of them land on their buttocks.
"That enough, we all should be ashamed for what happened! Because of it, we're now officially banned from ever stepping foot on that town until further notice!" the armoured mage said.
"Don't you mean that we're banned from getting job requests from that town?" Happy corrected.
With that said, Natsu and Gray gave each other a 'hmph' and walked away from each other seperately. Erza then went to take a seat to the bar counter where the Fairy Tail master was sitting at drinking some liquor.
"So it ended in a total failure I see?" Makarov said.
"Yes. Mr. Saturnini the mayor of the town said he won't make any contact to this guild until further notice." Erza said.
"At least you stopped that queen from reproducing more of her offspring. That's what really matters."
"True but still. There will always be another job requests that we all hope it would be easier than done."
"Indeed my child. Just keep on trying hard, that's what being a wizard is all about. Failure can encourage self-development, keep that in your mind."
"It will always be in our minds."
In the infirmary room...
Lucy was taking a seat on one of the beds reading a book as she feels bored, Wendy was staring outside of the window and Carla was folding her arms while having a think with her eyes close.
"Hey Lucy." Wendy broke the silence.
"Yes Wendy?" Lucy repiled.
"I was thinking, do you think we should've gone with Natsu and the others in the first place?"
"Well... somebody has to stay here and do 'this job' thankfully you and Carla decided to stay with me but I get the feeling that they will be alright."
"It's because we're worried that something might go completely wrong in here as..."
"Such as?"
"*Points at the teen*. That when this guy wakes up and might be a threat to this guild."
"Oh hush there child. There is no way he will do that." Carla said. "Besides, we all don't know his background yet and how'd he ended up almost drowning in the lake."
"I know but I just get the feeling something is way off with this person. I mean if you take a closer look, I don't think he's just like us." Wendy rubbed her arm nervously.
"What do you mean you don't think he's just like us?"
"Well... It just I can't..."
"Hmm...?"
"I can't or don't sense any magic coming from him."
"That is what comes to your mind huh? I always really thought you were being too paranoid when you thought crane flies were giant mosquitoes."
"You promised that you won't bring that up again!"
"I'm really sorry. But at least we're not out of the room."
"But what if 'he' hears that? He might pretend that he's still sleeping."
"Okay that's it child, I think you need some fresh air and some soda to wash you all down."
"But what about Lucy? I don't wanna leave her here with that guy."
"She's got her celestial spirits with her, she will be fine."
With that said, Carla dragged Wendy out of the infirmary room to calm her down a bit, leaving Lucy all by herself with the unconscious black haired teen. Once she finished reading her book, she placed it onto the counter and decided to pick another but then her eyes went on focusing on the youngster who is still lying on the bed. She then started walking up to him by standing on the right of the bed in which she then took a seat on the bed next to him and start gazing at the teen's features.
"Hmm... Well I get the feeling Wendy would be right. I don't sense any magic in him at all too but seeing him like this makes him even more hands-"
All of the sudden the door burst open, revealing a super pissed off fire dragon slayer and his blue exceed partner in which caused her to jump up from the bed in order to avoid being caught from paying attention to the black haired teen.
"Blame it on me they say! Oh I'll show that stripper who the biggest blame on!" the fire dragon slayer yelled.
"Natsu! What did I say about using the doors?!" Lucy asked with an irritated look as she approach him.
"Do I care about the damn door?! NO!"
"You know, you're gonna give this poor guy a heart attack if you continue coming in like that."
"Then why don't you take him to Fairy Hills instead of here, so that he doesn't have to be here!"
"And how am I supposed to do that? And you know Fairy Hills is an all female place."
"Well duh what do you expect, al least it's more peaceful than over here!"
"Natsu. You have to calm down okay. Just don't go completely overboard this time around." Happy said.
"Oh so you too Happy?" Natsu turned to his exceed friend. "You know what, I think it's better if you go without instead!"
"What?! I didn't do all the attacking, all I did was to watch you, Gray and Erza to finish the job but your impulsiveness had to ruin it as you three were this close to finish the job!"
"Like you're the one to talk! You should've helped out in the first place!"
"No. I asked if I can help but you said 'Stay out of it Happy and I obeyed'. You should've let me help you."
"BITE ME!"
"QUIET!" Lucy shouted as the two turned to face her. "Look! I understand how much the jewels ment for you but if you yes Natsu haven't gone overboard then it would have been a huge success, now all that money is gone. You still have another job request to do!"
"And then what Lucy?!" Natsu said. "How about if you took that job instead of us. We wouldn't have been in this mess."
"Why thank you! I should've done instead of you and this time, I won't take you with me nor Gray and Erza!"
"Oh I would to see you do that and in a mean time, don't bother asking me how it go!"
"No I won't, I'll just go and talk to someone else about it and you'll see whether you like it or not!"
"If you two and your flying talking pet there like to raise your voices at each other in the volume, take it outside." the mysterious voice said in a pretty annoyed tone.
"So sorry there sir. We will go and take our business while you stay here resting up." Lucy responded as the three were about to leave, they've stopped and looked at each other in surprised and then all eyes have fallen onto the person who spoke. Revealing to be an awoken raven haired teen who really seem to have an annoyed look on his face while he slowly got on to a sitting positon.
It looks like the raven haired visitor had been awoken from his long slumber as you all were hoping for.
