Chapter 21: One fine day.
Chelbell2016:
My goal is to have this chapter up by Tuesday the 7th. Let's see if I meet it.
Courtney's POV:
All of us besides Rose and Ty have decided to go on a picnic because it's our day off. I even brought Azantys but he is wearing a glamour that makes him look like a dog to anyone who does not know him.
"Fresh air, beautiful scenery, no monsters to fight," Will begins and I raise an eyebrow at him. "This is just one fine day!"
"Easy for you to say," Dax, who is holding a backpack that looks like we're camping for at least a year. "You're not carrying the backpack for five miles! What did you put in here Ronny?"
"Oh," Ronny begins before making a list. "Just our lunches and our swimsuits, five bottles of water, five towels, some sunscreen, a tent."
"It's okay," Mack cuts her off before she creates a monologue. "I'll take the backpack. I'm the one with super strength!"
He puts the backpack on and as we continue to move through the grass Dax, now free from a heavy burden, begins to jump around and enjoy himself. I chuckle.
"I haven't been on a picnic in ten years," Mack explains to us and I smile at him. "Dad and I used to grab a great spot by the river. We'd go swimming and toss a football around. We used to have these amazing fried-chicken lunches that Spencer made. Man they were the good days when dad had more time."
"I know what you mean," I tell him. "When I was little it was always me and my dad T. But a few years before the Dino thunder team came together he went on a load of exhibitions. I barely seen him and then he was just able to get off of an island before it exploded. I don't know what I would have done if I lost him."
"HEY GUYS!" A voice says from behind us and we turn to see Rose.
"I thought you weren't coming?" Will asks.
"I wasn't," Rose says and as she goes on it begins to dawn on us why she came. "But it seemed like such a nice day and you guys are my friends so I thought I'd join you-"
"Tyzonn!" We all say knowing he has been a little obsessed with finding out more about Rose.
"Yeah," she confirms our suspicions. "He's great and all. But he's just different. He just wanted to look at me all day."
"So you ditched him?" Will asks what we are all thinking.
"Well no I didn't," she says but when we continue to stare at her she comes clean. "Yeah I ditched him. I just need a few moments away from him."
Tyzonn suddenly appears carrying a book and is looking for Rose. "Rose. Rose. You forgot your book!"
"Thanks," Rose says with very little enthusiasm.
"Hey Ty," Will says and we all smirk knowing what his plan is. "We're all going on a picnic. Want to come?"
Rose glares at him clearly pissed.
"Yeah," Ty says clearly excited.
"Let's go," I say to them and we all move forwards again.
"What's a picnic?" Ty asks clearly confused.
"Well this one in particular is going to be a lot of fun," Will tells him.
"What is that?" Dax suddenly says and we look to see some sort of white being.
"A bear?" Mack asks.
"That's no bear I've seen," I tell him and Azantyz moans in agreement. "And I come from a magical forest."
"And I come from a magical planet," Azantys says in my head and I pat him on the head.
"It looks like Bigfoot!" Ronny says and I nod.
"Let's follow it," Dax says to us looking excited but a little nervous. "If it is big foot we could become famous!"
"We already are dude," I say to him smiling.
"Famous-er-er," he says making me laugh. "Let's follow him!"
"Sounds good to me!" Rose says and we all begin to follow him.
"Where could he have gone?" Dax asks as we head through the woods. "He ran down this road and just disappeared!"
I try to use my ninja senses but something seems wrong about this area.
"Look," Ronny says spotting some tracks and we race down after them but they are suddenly cut off.
I carry on walking and feel this weird surge.
"Did anyone else feel that?" I say but no one answers so I turn around. "Uh guys?"
My friends have disappeared. I gulp as I realize that I must have stepped through some sort of force field. The warrior goddess had warned I'd be more powerful but I didn't realize what this meant.
I am walking through the woods trying to find out what is keeping my friends out and me in this place.
"I am getting a strange case of de ja vu!" I say thinking back to other times I have been stuck without my friends. "All I need now is an injured Catastros needing my help!"
I carry on hoping to find my friends but they are no where in sight.
"Well, well, well," A voice says and I turn to see one of the fearcats. "I thought you'd be that mercurian! Guess I'll have to settle for destroying you instead!"
I smirk before pulling out my tracker. "You can try! OVERDRIVE ACCELERATE!"
I morph before pulling out my defender and racing towards Mig. I go to strike him but he grabs my sword. We grapple for control over it and when I use my powers to heat it up it burns him and he groans as he lets go.
He races forward and kicks me in the chest sending me flying and I hit a tree. I groan but then I hear a voice.
"AAA Fearcats run!" I hear someone say but then I look around as I am pulled to my feet.
"Man am I glad to see you guys!" I say to Ty and Rose who also have managed to somehow get through the force field.
"Glad you're all right!" Ty says and Mig stands in front of us.
"My lucky day!" Mig says as we prepare to fight together. "Now three rangers!"
He pulls out his guns and blasts at us but we roll across the ground and the other two morph.
"We have to finish this fast," Rose says and I glance at her before nodding. "So we can destroy the force field!"
"All right!" Ty says and we all pull out our weapons and run towards Mig.
"Game on!" Mig says as he runs to meet us.
Rose and I go to strike him but he blocks it before dodging Tyzonn. He goes to trip Rose who flips backwards and Ty and I move forwards. He kicks Ty away and I throw a fireball at him which he dodges and it hits the ground behind him. He groans as he falls but then he quickly gets back up and punches me so I drop to one knee. I feel a sudden drain in energy like going through that force field took a lot more then I knew.
I breathe heavily as Rose begins to fight Mig. I jump up to help but we are not doing well. He hits Ty across the chest and he hits the ground. I raise my hand and blast him back as we move over to Ty.
We get to our feet and begin to run forwards again. He blocks all of our moves and then Mig knocks our weapons out of our hands.
He knocks me back and as Ty grabs his weapon he is forced to raise it as Mig goes to stand on his chest.
Rose blasts him and I send fireballs that actually hit him this time. As he hits the ground we regroup with Ty who has just gotten back to his feet.
"Tyzonn we have to keep looking for the seal," Rose says holding her chest.
"Right," Tyzonn says but then he suddenly cries out as if he is in pain.
I lean forward and hold him up as he seems to get dizzy.
"Ty you okay?" I ask him glancing at Rose worried.
"What's wrong?" Rose asks him.
"It's over rangers!" Mig says appearing in front of us.
He goes to blast us but I grip both of their shoulders and flame us out of there.
We are now sat unmorphed in a field as I heal everyone's wounds. I finish Ty as Rose asks the question I was also wondering.
"Tyzonn are you all right?" She asks him even though he seems to have recovered from earlier.
"I'm fine," Ty replies and I just stare at him. "Did I mention that Though Mercurians can pass through force fields, it does weaken them?"
"Um I wasn't there but if I was and I knew that..." I began to say. "I would have stopped you."
"And no you didn't mention it to us either," Rose says and Tyzonn just smiles slightly at both of us and rose sits down in between Ty and I."Ty what's up with you lately? You've been acting really strange. You've been staring at me. And you've been asking me a billion questions about what I eat, what I like?"
"You noticed?" Ty says.
I chuckle. "I think everyone noticed."
Rose nods in agreement.
"Just trying to get close to you," Ty explains.
"You are close to me," Rose informs him but I do see where Ty is coming from. "You're my friend."
"No Rose," Ty shakes his head and I look at him but do not speak. "You don't let anyone close to you. You like to answer questions about things in books. You don't like to answer questions about yourself, and that's why I'd like to know more about you."
Rose looks uncomfortable as she replies. "I don't like talking about myself!"
"Why not?" Tyzonn and I ask at the same time.
"When I was a little girl," Rose begins and I can tell she hasn't shared this story with many people. "I never felt special. No one ever told me I was, so I made a decision to learn everything there ever was to know. Then I'd feel special!"
"Did you?" Ty asks her curiously.
Roses shoulders slump in answer. "No!"
I place my hand on her shoulder to comfort her.
"Rose, the way I see it is," Tyzonn begins and I smile at what he says to her next. "What makes us special is already there when we're born. What we accomplish is just what we do! Rose, I think you're a very special person."
I nod.
"I think you're special as well Rose," I agree with Ty's statement.
Rose smiles back sheepishly.
"Ty I think you're a very special person too," Rose informs him.
Ty laughs.
"I know," he says and then he puts his arm around me. "And of course your special Courtney!"
"Glad to know I'm included," I smirk before getting to my feet as we all laugh. "Now, how about we find the source of that force field?"
"It's a seal we're looking for," Ty reminds me and I nod as he gets up and pulls Rose to her feet.
All three of us then take off.
We find the seal and the purple color of it reminds me of Koragg's magic. Definitely dark magic.
"There it is," Tyzonn says pointing at it. "All we have to do is break one part of the seal and the force field will open!"
We go to move forwards but we are suddenly blasted back. Mig had arrived to stop us from doing exactly what we want and need to do. We all groan as we hit the ground next to each other, a mile away from where we had been stood.
As Mig jumps at us we quickly get to our feet and begin to fight. I grab him and begin to grapple with him but he kicks me backwards. I groan but quickly move forwards to hit him again. He grabs Rose's arm and bends it causing her to cry out in pain. Tyzonn retaliates by hitting his other wrist that forces his away and off of Rose.
He then pushes Rose into Ty.
"Come on!" He says to all three of us.
We all run forwards and begin to fight again. I go to sweep him but he jumps over me and I am forced to roll across the ground to avoid him stomping on me. He kicks Ty back and both Rose and I are on our own. I grab him and twist him around so Rose can hit him but it isn't helping at all as he swings me around before punching me in the ribs.
He then kicks Rose away and throws me into the woods. I stand up and flame to right behind Mig and grab him from behind and then Ty grabs his arms.
"Break the seal Rose!" Ty tells the pink ranger whose currently on the ground. "We'll handle Mig."
She gets to her feet.
"Oh no you don't!" Mig says before kicking Ty's leg and forcing him to drop to one knee, he then flips me over his shoulder.
"FIRE!" Mig says before firing on Rose who hits the ground.
"ROSE!" I yell worried for my friend.
"Rose!" Ty also yells as we fight to get to her but Mig's grip is so strong.
I pull Mig off of Ty at the same moment that he yells. "NO!"
I realize that Rose broke the seal which means that the others can now get through.
"I DID IT!" Rose yells to us.
I feel Mig's foot connect with my leg before he throws me into Rose and we both go flying. I look up just in time to see Tyzonn hit the ground and he is not moving. Mig had fired at him and the explosion had knocked him out and he is not moving.
As Rose runs over to Ty I kick Mig back and turn to back punch him. He grabs my wrist and flips me.
"TY!" I can hear Rose scream over and over again and then I see her morph. "You're going down!"
I nod at her before going into morph mode myself. "Its you and us fearcat!"
"Fine," Mig says before running at both of us.
I pull out my drive defender and Rose does to. I block his sword and then duck and move out of the way as Rose moves in for an attack. She goes to strike him twice and misses so she goes to kick him. Then she steps back and I throw three fireballs at him that hit him in the chest and he growls as he falls backwards slightly.
"You two are strong but no match for me!" Mig states.
"I'd like to test that theory!" I growl back at him wanting to get revenge for Ty.
Rose and I both clash swords with him before I turn and kick him. But he keeps coming back for more. He flips Rose who luckily lands on her feet. I drop down as he goes to kick me and go to trip him. He jumps over me and heads back over to Rose. I run at a brisk pace as I aim to stop him.
Rose kicks his leg causing him to drop to one knee. He gets back up and I jump into the air and we strike each other. I groan as I land on my back and Rose rushes over to help me back to my feet. Mig then blasts us both and sparks appear across our chests as we hit the ground over the hill.
"You know I love dirt as much as Dustin!" I growl as I grip sand off of the ground. "But this is ridiculous! And now I sound like Dustin!"
"You're done rangers!" Mig says again and I feel enough energy to raise a shield this time.
I use my shield to destroy the blast and Rose looks grateful.
"We're not done!" Rose says and we both kick off from the ground.
"WE'RE MAD!" I yell and we join Mig on the hills.
Together we blast him and its his turn to have sparks surround him.
As he rolls across the ground we touch down in front of him. We go to fight him again when a sudden shaking of the ground distracts us.
"What's that?" Rose asks but a second later her question is answered as a machine appears.
"It's about time you got here!" Mig states and I realize now we know where the other fearcat is.
The other fearcat speaks to Mig but I am barely listening as I am trying to decide the best way to defeat that thing.
"Oh no!" Rose says.
"GOOD JOB!" Mig yells to his companion. "You failed you two!"
"LET ME GET THEM MIG!" Benglo says and then he lands on the ground towering over Rose and I. "One pink and white ranger pancake coming up!"
He raises his foot and I raise my arms to raise a shield but my magic does something else. A golden glow shines and the sentinel sword appears in my hand. I use it to send the robot stumbling backwards. I smile as the other rangers appear.
"Guess again!" I say loving my connection to this sword.
Will appears on his cycle and blasts Mig, who goes flying and then rolls across the ground and gets back to his feet.
"These rangers never give up!" Mig points out and I smile.
I turn to mack. "You guys take the fearcats! Sentinel knight and I will help Tyzonn!"
I turn the dial and sentinel knight goes into his knight mode.
"Come and help me!" I say as the others take off in the megazord.
I kneel down next to Tyzonn and raise my hands to heal him. But it's not working. After a few minutes of trying Sentinel knight walks over with Norg, Flurios' lacky.
"Norg?" I question and he looks a little scared.
"I can help!" He states and I hesitate. "Your friend saved my life. You look familiar but right now. I want to help!"
I nod and he motions for me to continue healing but I am lacking in energy.
"I don't know if I can heal right now!" I point out to sentinel knight as Norg begins some sort of ritual.
"Here," he holds out his hand and I look at him confused. "Use our connection and my strength to strengthen you and help!"
I nod and take his hand before using my magic to begin heal.
"He said he could help," I hear sentinel telling the others who had destroyed the robot and joined us on the ground.
While my hand continues to glow, Norg uses his stick to spread some sort of smoke over Tyzonn's face. I really hope this works.
Ty's eyes open and he looks at Norg and I. "Thank you!"
Norg laughs before looking at Mack, then to me and back at Mack. He begins to scream.
"I know you two!" He says and I think he only remembers me because of Mack as he didn't earlier. "You're the red... red and white power rangers!"
"Yeah we're all power rangers," Mack says and I nod.
"AHHH!" Norg cries out before turning and beginning to run. "Run Norgie!"
"That's Norg," Mack explains to the others as we watch him go. "We met him when we were prisoners of Flurious."
We all help Ty to his feet and after a few words to make sure he is okay, Rose turns to him with a big smile on his face. "I ate scramble eggs on toast when I was going to college. Every day, scrambled eggs on toast!"
They both hug.
We head back to the mansion with the torch which is what the fearcats had.
"So what happened out there?" Mr. Hartford asks us as he and Spencer approach us.
"You know," Will begins and I smile back at him. "Take a walk, have a bite, fight bad guys."
Ronny comes in with the torch. "And... we brought a gift back for the both of you."
Both men look excited as Ronny passes it to Mr. H.
