Chapter 22: Ronny and Courtney on empty part 1:

Chelbell2016:

Okay so I want this one up today so I can carry on with the next one after work tomorrow.

Courtney's POV:

I am sat brushing Azantyz as Dax and Will play pool I am listening to their conversation.

"8 ball corner pocket," Dax tells Will once he has finished setting up the balls. "Eyes closed."

I glance up in disbelief.

"Don't you think you should break before calling your shots?" Will asks him.

"I would," I say to the blue ranger as that sounds impossible to me.

"Watch and learn my friends," Dax tells us and I get to my feet and pat Azantyz.

"This I gotta see," I tell my furry friend who nods his head.

Dax leans over the table and closes his eyes. He takes his shot and the black ball goes into the corner pocket making me smirk and then to top it off, the white ball goes flying off of the table.

"What happened?" Dax asks as he stands straight and opens his eyes.

Will and I both speak at the same time. "You lost hotshot!"

Dax looks confused as we say this. Then a hag appears and the boys scream.

"I go next!" She groans.

"Hi Ronny!" I smirk at the boys reaction as Ronny pulls off the mask laughing her head off.

I look at the guys and laugh along as Dax is holding his cue in a threatening way and Will had even taken out his tracker.

"Happy Halloween!" Ronny says to us and I high five her. "I thought I'd go as something scary this year. It's my favorite holiday!"

"Halloween's for kids!" Will says.

"Oh come on Will," I say putting my arm around Ronny's shoulders. "It's just fun!"

"Your like a big kid anyway Courtney!" He snaps at me and I feel a lot of hurt. "So why don't you grow up! You are supposed to be the leader of this team!"

"WILL!" Ronny snaps at him.

I ignore whatever else anyone says as I walk out of the room.

"All rangers report to the command center," Mr. Hartford's voice says so I head downstairs.

I am quietly stood in a corner.

"Good you're all here," Mr. H says as the others arrive and we all walk forwards. "I think I found something!"

He picks up the torch and twists the bottom revealing a hiding spot for some sort of encased bug.

"Cool," Mack says taking it out and we all look at it, it looks like some sort of beetle trapped inside of an amber rock. "It's a beetle!"

Mr. Hartford nods at his son who pulls out his tracker and scans it. I look at the reading and say it out loud.

"It's got a pretty strong jewel signature," I tell them glad that we found this beetle.

"What kind of beetle is it?" Mack asks Rose as she takes the item.

"It's an ugly beetle," Dax says and I shake my head in humor.

"It's a Scarab beetle," Rose corrects him as she examines it. "But it's golden. I have never seen anything like it."

"I'll send it to the lab for analysis," Mr. Hartford tells us and I nod at him. "But don't wonder too far. I'm also working on a new fleet of zords for your arsenal which includes you in it Courtney! I think you're gonna like them!"

We all look excited as we exit the command center.

I am helping sentinel knight to carve pumpkins and everyone else is doing other jobs. I have ignored Will all day.

"Oh I do love Halloween," Spencer tells us and I smile at him. "The candy, the pumpkins, the smell of fall in the air."

Tyzonn, holding a pumpkin approaches Spencer as he climbs down from the ladder.

"Rose explained it to me," he says tossing the pumpkin around. "She said that you put on disguises, go door to door, begging for food. Sounds like fun!"

"Yeah," Will, who is looking bored says. "It's great, when you're a kid."

Ronny approaches him also annoyed by his attitude. "Aw come on Will. Don't be such a party pooper. Look, even the sentinel knights helping Courtney!"

"It's quite fun," Sentinel says from my side.

"Yeah and he's already wearing his costume," Will points out and I roll my eyes as sentinel knight makes a noise of confusion.

"Look," Ronny tries to get through to him. "There's nothing wrong with embracing the kid inside of you and having some fun!"

I turn away until the alarm goes off alerting us to trouble.

"Rangers we have a situation!" Mr. Hartford says over coms and I rush to my feet needing a good fight.

We race off to battle.

We arrive to see the fearcats have destroyed the city. Ty appears soon and then the rest of us join him. Sentinel knight is also their to provide back up.

"Oh it's a reunion!" Benglo says and Mig whispers something I do not hear.

"We won't let you destroy the city," Mack informs them and I nod.

"Yeah," Dax says patting sentinel on the shoulder. "We have a secret weapon now!"

"Yes!" Sentinel knight agrees.

"Sentinel knight is no match for our old friend!" Mig tells us and I wonder what they are up to.

"Come forth!" Benglo says and with a flash of flames Moltor appears.

"Moltor!" Will says.

"Whatever you're planning," I begin stepping forwards a little. "It's time to leave the city and the people alone!"

"Silly rangers," Moltor says and I do not like his tone. "The plan is already working. You're standing here aren't you?"

"Ready?" Mig asks him.

"Let's do it!" Benglo says and he raises his gun. "By the power of the giro."

"And the power of the fearcats!" Mig says also raising his weapon.

"COMBINED!" Moltor says and I am forced to raise a shield as they blast at us.

But the blast slowly eats away at my shield until it shatters and I go flying as well as the others. I groan from the impact but before I can think on it Mig and benglo grab me and Ronny and pull us to our feet. Before I can stop them they place a pair of magic dampening cuffs on my arms.

"You two are coming with us!" Mig, who has my arms say.

I look round to see the others being kept away from us by Moltor. I try to fight without my hands but its hard and without my magic, Ronny and I are in trouble.

"Remember us?" Mig says to me and Ronny who is being help by Benglo.

"How could I forget that smell?" Ronny asks.

"Or those faces?!" I growl at him.

Ronny gets Benglo off of her and moves towards Mig with me but before she gets far I get shoved away and they both attack her on top of a car. I try to break the cuffs but its not working. I smack them against the car and then have to duck as Mig jumps over me and grabs my arms again.

"GET OFF OF ME YOU FLEA INFESTED HOTEL!" I growl at him.

"RONNY, COURTNEY!" I hear Will yell and then there is a flash as Azantys appears.

"Get off you creeps!" Ronny says to them.

I see Will coming towards us one way with the sentinel sword and Azantys from the other side. But then a red color rope wraps around Azantys neck.

"AZANTYS!" I yell and turn to see Moltor holding both the rope holding my best friend... and Will with the sentinel sword.

Before I can do anything all of us disappear in a flash.

To add insult to injury I have handcuffs on and I am strapped to a tree with the other two rangers. Azantys who is growling due to the muzzle on his face, is tied to a peg not far.

"You know I am sick of loosing my magic lately," I say to the other two. "And what the heck do they want with Azantys?"

The others shrug before Will speaks. "That Halloween party's not looking so bad right now!"

I scoff as I am still angry.

"I knew you'd come around," Ronny says laughing as we struggle but get no where. "Can you untie us?"

"If I can break into high tech safes," Will begins and I sigh a little glad hes here right now. "I'm sure i can break out of this. Give me a sec!"

I turn to look at him seriously. "Got anything for magical handcuffs?"

He looks round at me and he can see I'm nervous. "I can use my drive defender when we get out of this."

I nod.

"Thanks," I reply wanting to end the feud between us.

"What do you think they want?" Will asks us.

I share a look with Ronny and she clearly thinks the same as me.

"If it's anything like last time," Ronny says. "They want our powers!"

"Let's not wait around to find out," Will says and I see Moltor put the same binding around us around the sentinel sword to stop him from going to knight form.

"What are they saying?" Ronny says to Will because he's the one with the super hearing. "Can you hear?"

I see Will lean his ear towards them and after a few seconds he seems to freeze.

"Will?!" I say panicking as I glance at a growling Azantys who would have also heard what they said. "What did they say? For crying out loud Will."

He doesn't answer he just pulls something out of his pocket that'll cut through the thing that is binding us to the tree.

"Gotta get out of here!" He says.

When Will finally broke free, and we had untied Azantys even though we couldn't get the muzzle off, we race away from moltor and the fearcats. But they soon realise we have disappeared and follow us.

But Will has still not said what the fearcats and Moltor had said.

We run through the woods and I am dying to be able to flame right now but I cannot even use my hands properly.

"WILL!" Ronny calls out to him and we stop. "Did they say they wanted our powers?"

Will doesn't say anything so I grab his shoulder and turn him towards us. "Will what did they say?"

"They said they wanted you two," he tells us and now I know why he ran. "I wasn't part of the plan. They were gonna destroy me. Come on!"

He carries on running but I turn to Ronny and we turn back around to stop Moltor and the fearcats.

"Not so fast!" Benglo tells us and we run towards them to fight.

But not long after we're restrained and Azantys is back on a magic leash. I still cannot figure out what they want with him.

We are taken to some sort of hideout with a large machine. Moltor forces Azantys over to the machine by yanking him and he attaches something to him.

The machine seems to be some sort of power drainer machine.

"Good," Moltor says after Azantys is attached to the machine even though he is fighting to get loose. "I love it when a plan comes together!"

"You'll never get away with this!" Ronny informs the fearcats who are holding us.

"You two may have escaped last time princesses," Mig begins and we glare back at him. "But you will be drained long before any of your ranger friends find you here!"

I begin to worry that he is right.

"I'll plug the sentinel sword and the white rangers mutt directly into the converter," Moltor says and I watch as one of the lava lizards places the sword on top of the controls to the machine. "They will turn to evil or be destroyed!"

"That snow leopard is stronger than you think!" I growl at him and I'm hoping Azantys can hold out.

"Looks like we're all in for a long night!" Ronny says and I nod.

Two lava lizards holding me as Mig and Benglo drag Ronny over to the machine. When her hands are stuck on it they come for me and take off my cuffs. But they are holding me so tight that I cannot move as they drag me over.

They put me on the other side of the machine.

"Initiating energy drain sequence," Moltor says turning on the machine as I try to fight off the fearcats. "Secure the prisoner!"

I try to fight it as they force my hands towards the machine.

"Prepare for a very draining day!" Benglo says

"You're making a big mistake!" I tell them as I try to fight them off but it's useless, the cuffs drained my magic slightly.

before they push me one more time and my hands are now stuck on the machine. Now both of us are in place Ronny and I feel the drain begin. I gulp as I feel my magic and energy begin to leave me.

I look over at the machine to see Azantys growling again.

"This time there'll be no mistake!" Moltor says and I can see Ronny is also panicking.

My eyes are beginning to droop and Ronny is breathing heavily. I am also worried about Azantys. He isn't fighting as much now. What if they turn him and I can't turn him back. Same with the sentinel knight.

"Yes!" Moltor says as more bars raise on the machine. "That's enough energy to run my robot! I'm going!"

He presses a button on the machine and I'm guessing it gave his zord more power. There is a flash from the machine we are plugged into.

"Out of my way!" Moltor tells Benglo who holds his hand out to stop him.

"They're not done draining!" He tells her.

Moltor attacks them both and forces them backwards.

"Complete the draining!" He says and I swallow hard as my breathing becomes shallow. "I'm taking my robot!"

"Why you..." Mig says.

But before they can do anything there is a flash and I look around to see Sentinel knight has broke out of his case and has gone to knight form. He frees Azantys from the computer and turns to us.

"Hold on Ronny and Courtney!" Sentinel knight says.

We both just smile. Azantys and sentinel make a move towards us but Mig and Benglo begin to fight them. Whatever that machine is doing to them it's not helping them fight. They are both being overpowered.

"What did you do to us?" Sentinel knight asks as they both grapple with him and Azantys.

I keep pulling at my hands begging that I get free because I just know something bad is going to happen.

Mig and Benglo kick them both into the machine and their is a flash. Azantys bows down is submission and Sentinel drops to one knee.

"Yes!" Mig says as Ronny and I gasp. "Complete the conversion!"

"You two are one of us now!" Benglo says.

I gasp as I feel my connection to Azantys disappear and I see his eyes turn dark red. He nods his head at the fearcats and then sentinel knight also looks up.

"Yes master!" He says and I share a look with Ronny.

"WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO?" I yell at the fearcats as Azantys and Sentinel leave to join Moltor in the battle.

3rd person POV:

The rangers have arrived to fight Moltor in his new robot. But then they are shocked as Azantys, in robot form and sentinel knight appear.

"New allies!" Moltor states sounding pleased. "ATTACK!"

Azantys jumps at the overdrive megazord and claws it then as he lands on the ground he turns and attacks them again.

"AZANTYS!" The rangers bellow trying to get their friend to stop. "WAKE UP! You're a friend!"

It doesn't work as some flying birds appear and after a few words they take to the air to fight them. But as they destroy them Azantys attacks again and as they do not want to destroy him they end up in the water.

Courtney's POV:

I watch as Ronny is getting worse through my own tired eyes and drained body. We can barely hold our head up anymore. I look at Azantys.

"Azantys!" I manage to work up the strength to speak hoarsely to my friend. "Help me please buddy!"

Azantys and the sentinel knight are stood, looking passive in a corner each. I have never seen Azantys look so unemotional. It's breaking my heart as he has been with me for five years.

"Help us!" Ronny says to Sentinel but neither speak.

Ronny and I fall to our knees from lack of energy. I look at Azantys one last time. "Azantys... please!"
