When Katie put the final touches on her hair in the mirror, she couldn't contain her smile or excitement. It had been so long since she'd had a night to herself, let alone a night out with Hannah, but that had to change.

Whether it was because she couldn't find a babysitter for Willow or on that particular night she would be with Asher, who had always either some sort of academic thing or a hockey game. When she was free, Hannah was always busy with her sons Jace and Landon as well or had other plans with Brandon, but tonight was their night together.

Katie was going out with Hannah like they were in college again. There would be dancing and drinking and definitely a few impulsive decisions made tonight, but this time she would be able to come home to her handsome husband and two beautiful children. There would be no possibility for heartbreak nor would she have to make out with a random stranger to get laid.

She ran her fingers through her dark curls, feeling invigorated by the new darker color she'd dyed it at the salon today. She hadn't had this color since she was in college, mostly because she'd wanted to go more natural when she married Ned, but that had continued when they found out about Charlie.

Katie had never truly felt like her past self after she lost him and nearly her life, but more than ten years had passed since that dark time and a lot of healing had taken place. It was still hard to cope some days, and their fertility struggles didn't help with that at all.

Not only that but the car accident had once again shown her that life was truly unpredictable. They lost yet another child, but it showed her that she needed to stop putting so much blame on herself for everything that happened with Charlie. She hadn't even realized how much of a weight that was on her shoulders.

When she felt Ned's arms wrap around her waist, she was brought out of her clouded thoughts, and he began to press kisses to her neck. He had just gotten home for his break in between his shifts today when she had started getting ready, so she was excited for his reaction to her new hair color and when he hadn't said anything at first, she thought he hadn't noticed.

Was it really not that big of a deal?

However, he proved that statement false quickly. His left hand slowly slid through her curls as he smiled at her through the bathroom mirror.

"You really went all out at the salon today… I like it," he said, leaning against the counter with his arms crossed. "You haven't gone this dark since before we got married, are you trying to tell me something?"

She laughed and then leaned in to kiss him, but stopped just short of actually doing so. "Is there something I should be telling you?" She teased him, their lips had not touched until he pulled her in the rest of the way.

Katie looked good. She knew that. Her make-up was simple and she wore her tighter pair of jeans in the back of her drawers with an old pair of black heels and a silver shirt that clung to her figure. She even wore a matching sheer bra and pair of panties, but Ned didn't need to know about that until she got home later.

"You better have fun tonight," he laughed, winking at her as their lips parted.

"I always have fun, Ned. I'm a lightweight, remember?" She said, pulling on his arm and then looking over her shoulder at him. "Are you sure that everything will be fine?"

"Yes, Katie... will you stop worrying so much? I am working the night shift, Asher is hanging with Brandon and the boys while Willow is with your parents." He reassured her, kissing her cheek. "You look so beautiful." He pulled her out into the hallway and down the stairs to the foyer. "Go have fun. You deserve it."

"I will," she went and grabbed her jacket, kissing him once she pulled it on and returned. She pulled back and smiled at him, pulling her hair out of the jacket and fixing it quickly. "I love you."

"I love you too. Don't forget to call me once you're done." He kissed her once more and then she made toward the door as Hannah honked loudly and obnoxiously from her car on the curb outside. "I'll come to pick you up from the bar since I'm only going in to help out as an extra set of hands for some overtime hours." He followed her to the doorway, waving as Hannah rolled the passenger window of her minivan down.

"Hey, Ned! Katie! Get in!" Hannah giggled and pushed the passenger door open. "I've missed you so much..."

Katie pulled the door closed behind her and set her purse on the ground. "Hi, I've missed you too," she said and hugged Hannah. "Let's get our drink on."

"Your hair looks fab by the way," Hannah told her as she put her van into the drive.

When Katie and Hannah walked into the third bar of their girl's night out, her best friend had a bit of sway in her step. She couldn't deny that she was a bit drunk either but definitely hadn't drunk as much as Hannah had.

"I'm having so much fun," Hannah smiled as they both slid onto a stool at the bar. "I've missed being with you like this. It's been so long."

"Having kids will do that to you," she laughed, feeling the heat of her face as the bartender made his way over.

"What can I get for you, two lovely ladies?" The bartender asked, leaning toward them. "What kind of night are you out looking for?"

"We would like to start a tab under the last name Carson, and let's start with… four shots of tequila please," Hannah announced to him, grinning to her friend eagerly as she slid her card over to the bartender.

"Tequila shots? This is going to be like my going away party when I moved in with Ned," Katie's head fell back as she laughed hard and then the shot glasses were placed in front of them quickly. "Ugh Han… I don't know if this is a good idea after how much we've already had tonight..."

"We have no limits because Ned is picking you up and I parked my van in front of your mom's shop, so if she tows me I'll have some words with her. You don't have to worry about anything tonight, okay?" Hannah tried to reason with her and downed both of hers quickly, not even grimacing. The newest radio hit song came on and she danced over to her, smiling at her. "Ooh, come one, let's go dance."

She sighed and did the first shot to please Hannah, who ran off as she grabbed her second one. "I'll be right out there," she reassured her and looked up at the black-haired bartender. "Can I get a Redbull to wash this down?"

He nodded and grabbed a can from a nearby fridge under the counter, sliding it over to her. He proceeded to grab two glasses and fill them with some ice and water before placing them in front of their stools. "You don't look like the women I'd usually see around here," the man said, opening the Redbull for her as she did her second shot.

She grabbed the can with a grimace and washed the taste of the tequila away with a big gulp. "Yeah, we don't get out much together since we had kids," she said, still feeling the tequila burn and thought God, how long had it been since she'd done one of these? Had it been that long? "Believe it or not, I used to go out every weekend before I had kids... well, I better go find my friend before she hurts herself. Can we get another round of shots? Same thing."

"Nice choice," the man nodded.

Katie giggled at him. He was so handsome, he made her blush, almost as much as Ned would've. That was definitely the alcohol though. She slipped through the crowd and found Hannah, dancing with her. She could feel the beat underneath her skin as they bounced like they were clubbing in the city again.

Hannah grabbed her shoulders as she tried to yell over the music, "We have to do this more often!" The blonde leaned into her best friend, hugging her as they stopped dancing. "I feel like I never see you anymore."

"Oh Han," she said, kissing her cheek. "I feel like it's been forever too. We need to do things more often. I know how hectic things can get, but I promise I will try harder."

"Me too," Hanah said and pulled her back to the bar. The shots waiting there was a surprise and her friend giggled. "More shots? Katie Clancy, you're back and better than ever."

"Drinking shots of tequila definitely reminds me of the time when I still was Katie Clancy," she said as they both grabbed their shot glasses and clinked them together, downing them both before hugging again.

Thinking back to her anxiety to go out earlier, to live a little, made her laugh. She hadn't had this much fun in ages. The most fun she usually had was getting a weekend alone with Ned if her parents felt like taking the kids to the cabin or when they would babysit so she and Ned could go on an antique run for Melinda.

"We definitely need to start doing this regularly," she smiled and pulled back. "Wanna dance again?"

The blonde grinned and pulled her onto the dance floor. Katie let loose, dancing with Hannah like there was nothing to worry about. Her body moved to the music that was booming through the bar. Her hair sliced through the air with each sudden movement. Hannah moved in close to her, avoiding the grasp of a random guy. She knew it was later than she was usually out since the crowd had thinned down to ten or people on the dance floor and a few people lingering at the bar.

"We should get out of here soon," Katie yelled over the music.

"And go somewhere else?" Hannah asked, dancing still.

"We should go home," she said, shaking her head. "I don't want to get too drunk Hannah. I have to pick up Willow from mom's in the morning."

"Ugh let loose Katie! That was the entire point of going out together tonight. Your mom would understand if you came by a little late and you know it." Hannah giggled and pulled her back to the bar. "More alcohol for this one. I'm going to dance now and you better be drunker than when I left when I'm back."

Katie laughed and sat down, drinking another shot and sliding it back to the bartender. She knew she'd regret this in the morning, but right now, it wasn't that bad of a decision. She guessed Hannah was right. She probably did need to let loose. All of the stress of trying to have a third baby with Ned was a lot with work and their two kids.

"Hey," she looked at the bartender. "Can you do me a favor?"

"What's up?" The bartender asked as he wiped some of the bar down. "Want another round of shots?"

"We're not gonna do another shot for a while, but I'll take a vodka cranberry. What I wanted to ask you was if you'd call my husband around the bar close. I might be a little too drunk by then to do it myself." She quickly wrote down Ned's phone number onto a piece of paper along with the station number. "His name is Ned and if he doesn't answer the first number, you might have to try the second one because he's working. I'm Katie, by the way."

"That's not a problem. It's nice to meet you," the bartender said, sliding her drink over to her. "I'm Matt, by the way."

"Nice to meet you," she said, sipping on her drink.

Ned was at his desk, legs propped up, squeezing a mini stress basketball in his hands as Scott brought him a coffee. They'd been sitting here tossing the ball back and forth since midnight when they got their last call from a little old lady who couldn't get her cat inside and he had that very experience with chasing Stitches one too many times and was able to get him and earn a nice kiss on the cheek.

"What are you doing here Ned?" LeTrai asked, walking out from his office. "In trouble with Katie?"

"I have nothing better to do while Katie is out with her best friend. The kids are being babysat and I have nothing to do so I thought I'd lend an extra pair of hands for some overtime." Ned yawned and tossed the ball to Scott. "Scott here is actually working until six."

"I know. I scheduled him," LeTrai said, chuckling. "I'm going on a food run. Wanna come with since you're just taking up space?"

"Sure," he said standing up. "If my phone rings Scott, answer it. Call LeTrai if it's important. Want anything?"

"Sure thing. I'll take a burger and fries and a coke," Scott replied as he turned back to his paperwork.

LeTrai nodded and they left, just as Ned's phone rang and Scott watched them drive off. He grabbed the phone and answered it, but it was an unknown number.

"Hello?" Scott said.

"Hey, your wife asked me to call you. She's pretty hammered and the bar close is in ten minutes." A man said, loud music blaring the background. "She's over here at Moe's off Main."

"Oh, alright," Scott replied, itching his neck. He didn't have the chance to say he wasn't Ned before whoever had called hung up. He grabbed his own phone then, and keys to the squad car as he dialed LeTrai's phone. "Hey, tell Ned that Katie called and I'll bring her back to the station for him. So don't take forever."

"Sounds like a plan," Letrai said. "Have fun with Katie. Ned said she can be… eccentric."

"Oh, knock it off. I'll be fine," Scott chuckled and hung up on his way out of the precinct.

He made his way over to Moe's quickly, watching a few others pile out of the bar laughing as he parked the squad car in front. Scott got out of the car and came in just behind another man, who walked over to the blonde woman who was lost in a fit of giggling beside Katie.

"Need a ride, girls?" The man asked them both as he kissed said blonde's cheek. "You can pull Ash on your lap in the back."

"Isn't she pretty Brandon?" The blonde giggled, smiling at Katie.

"Not as pretty as you," the man, who Scott assumed was Brandon, winked at her and she kissed him as he swung her over his shoulder. "She wasn't too crazy?"

"Nothing I couldn't handle, Brando," Katie hiccuped and drank her water glass. "And I think Ned's coming."

"No, I've got her," Scott called out, stepping toward them all as Katie jumped up and wrapped her arms around him. "Hey, Katie. How's it going?"

"Scotty! My man!" She giggled, patting his chest. "Hannah! This is Scott, the one who is in love with Mackenzie. Wait... where's Ned?"

"He went on a food run with Cap, and so I came to bring you to the station. He'll meet us there." Scott explained, looping his arm around her to support her. "So this is the infamous Hannah. Nice to meet you."

"I'm too drunk for socialization," Hannah muttered, shaking his hand lightly as Brandon went toward the door. "It's nice to see your pretty face though. Tell Mack hello for me."

"Will do," Scott chuckled and smiled at Katie who was swaying next to him. "Ready? Where's your purse?"

"Mhmm," she hummed and stepped back from Scott, grabbing her purse and Scott's hand, almost falling, but letting him pick her up. "Thank you. I've my purse, but where's Ned again?"

He laughed, realizing Katie must've forgotten by now as he walked out of the bar's door. He watched her unlock her phone and read a text from her mom but tucked it back into her purse after trying to look at it too long. At least she was smart enough to do that.

"He's on his way back to the station and asked me to pick you up," he replied softly, setting her in Ned's truck and going to the driver's side. "Remember? That's where we're going."

"Kind of," she whispered as he started the truck and drove down the street. "My head is all blah."

"Must be fun," he laughed, looking over at her as he drove. "I've had nights like that too. Did you do something with your hair?"

"I did, thank you! My hair used to look like this back when I was first dating Ned," she told him, laughing at herself. "Tonight was really fun. I was singing and dancing with no worries... with Hannah, it can feel like we were twenty all over again. Especially when we were dancing on the bar and she did a body shot from my belly button."

"Wow. If only I could've seen that," he said and parked on the side of the station where the squad cars were usually parked. "Okay. We're here. I'm going to lay you down in the drunk tank because there really isn't a better place for you. Are you good?"

She had let her eyes fall closed by the time they had pulled up and waved him off as he grabbed the keys and hopped out, taking that as a yes. He quickly unlocked the side door and ran back to pick her up, closing the passenger door and walking around the car and into the station. He brought her quickly into the empty cell and laid her down on the bench, placing her purse next to her.

"Mackenzie loves you," she smiled up at him. "You love her too?"

"I love her so much Katie," he replied as his phone rang, grabbing the smartphone and pressing it to his ear. "Hey, you... I was just talking about you."

"How's the station?" Mackenzie asked as he went to help Katie get her shoes off.

"I'm helping Katie take her heels off," he said, placing her shoes on the floor. "She's sobering up in the drunk tank."

Mackenzie started laughing. "My sister got arrested?"

"No, no, Katie wasn't arrested." He said and it was at that moment Katie looked around and saw she was in a cell.

"Wait, was I arrested?" She asked, trying to sit up and then looking around again to make sure she was still in the cell. "My dad is gonna kill me."

"You weren't arrested Katie there just isn't anywhere for you to lie down and I don't know how long Ned is gonna be." He said, showing her to the open door. "The door isn't locked."

She used her advantage of distracting Scott to grab his phone from him. "Hello, Mackenzie. It's your big sister.

"How drunk are you?" Mackenzie was still laughing.

"I think your boyfriend arrested me because I don't know where Ned is…" She whispered, rolling her eyes.

Scott grabbed the phone and he laughed. "Sorry about that. Your sister is a handful." He explained, grabbing her again.

"I know how she can be," Mackenzie said, her giggle intriguing him. "And for dealing with her I will reward you... I can't wait for you to get home."

"I can't wait either," he blushed, reminded about how excited he was to get off work. "I love you. I'll be home in like an hour tops."

"I love you too," Mackenzie purred. "I'll be waiting."

"I like that too. Goodbye love," he groaned and reluctantly hung up, stuffing his phone in his pocket and turning back to a drunken Katie. She had resumed lying on her back on the bench "Okay, next shoe." He said, leaning down and pulling on the strap and tossing the shoe off where he had the other. "I'm going to get you some water and an Advil. Remember, you weren't arrested."

She nodded and sat up as he went toward the break room, trying to be as quick as he could. Just as he filled a plastic cup with some water and grabbed the Advil from his top desk drawer, he heard a crash and raced back toward the cell.

Thankfully, it was only that Katie had spilled her purse and she was now trying to pick everything back up quickly. He set the water down and stuffed the Advil in his pocket before going to help her. Once everything was back into her bag, he handed her the water.

"Here, just stay sitting on the floor. Ned should be here soon," he told her, giving her two Advil.

"Thank you, Scott," she whispered, taking a sip of water. "Even if you arrested me."

Scott laughed this time. "I didn't arrest you," he repeated himself for the third time to her with a sigh as he heard Ned's laugh and the scoff of his shoes.

"Well… well... Well… look what the cat dragged in." Ned's arms were crossed as he kicked the cell door open. "In here O'Neil? My wife isn't a criminal."

"She wanted to lie down," he tried to defend himself but could tell his partner was only joking. "I thought she would be best contained in here."

Ned shook his head, then bent down to grab Katie's purse and help her up. "You ready to go home, honey?"

"Yes," she yawned, leaning on him. "Scotty arrested me. Don't let my parents know."

His partner burst out laughing and he joined. "Your secret is safe with us," Ned told her, pressing a kiss to her forehead as he scooped her up into his arms with a practiced ease Scott didn't have. "Thanks for taking care of her for me."

"It's not a problem. We're practically family," he told him on his way out of the precinct. "See you in the afternoon for patrol."

Ned's natural, internal alarm clock was what first stirred him awake, but it's the feel of soft lips dancing up and down his sternum, a velvety tongue swirling around his nipples before tracing a long, damp trail down to his belly button that actually woke him up.

"Katie?" He grunted out sleepily, lifting his head from the pillow in time to see her brown eyes locked on his mischievously.

"Hey," his wife said innocently, as though it's the most normal thing in the world for her to be crouching over him at this time, nipping at the skin over his hip bones.

"What are you—what time is it?" He said, seeking out the clock before his eyes rolled back in his head when her fingers curled around his stiff morning erection. "Oh... hey. How are you feeling?"

"I'm fine. I've been hydrating, but it's early," she responded, her finger tracing up the base of his cock and all the way up to the very tip. "Someone was poking into my back… like he does every morning..."

A gasp escaped from the back of his throat and he stared down at her again when she paused ever-briefly before repeating the action slowly, methodically, blissfully. He groaned loudly as her hand moved a little faster, stinging just slightly against the dry skin of his erection.

She shook her head. "Just lay back, okay?" she murmured, "You take care of everyone all the time. You take care of me all the time. Let me take care of you. Just this once?" A second later, her hot mouth enveloped him.

"Christ, Katie…that feels…" He gasped, fisting her hair.

His hips thrust upward in time with her mouth pushing downwards and soon they had a delicious rhythm built up that's made him feel delirious. It's the sort of pleasure he had only had his wife to give him—maybe because Katie knew so much about him. Maybe… it was because they were married and with a smile, she'd give him anything he wanted. He would do the exact same when she smiled at him.

"Oh God," he cried again.

Her nose was pressed all the way up against the patch of hair under his navel, and he could feel her throat contracting and constricting against him. His hands certainly didn't mean to yank her hair as hard as he did, but it felt so impossibly, deliriously good that he couldn't stand the idea that it'll end, and if she kept that up, she'd absolutely finish him.

She took the hint and pulled back; her hand doing most of the work as she pumped long, smooth strokes up and down him. He must've grunted out her name a thousand different ways, enunciating different letters each time.

Her hand was a soft, but an all-too pleasant one. Her tongue lapped at him every so often, either flat and smooth across the underside or quick and teasing against him, but it was her lithe, graceful fingers that had finished him off.

He panted and his body relaxed as he felt the first burst of his orgasm shoot against his stomach. He cried out her name as she milked him of the last bit of pleasure. "My god, Katie..." His eyes finally opened and sought out her face, wanting to kiss her. To do everything in his power to make her feel as good he did right now. "I love you."

"You come just like anyone else, you know," she whispered quietly, her hand still gliding against him absentmindedly. "But I love the way you say my name when you do…"

"That was incredible," he said, reaching out towards her, aching to return the favor. He could feel his cock softening against her palm, but not entirely. In fact, he swore he felt it twitch as though it's coming back to life for her.

She must've noticed. Her lips pulled upwards and she laughed. "You still have a hard-on," she bit her lip.

"Not completely, but you are still playing with me," he pointed out, hissing when her hand squeezed him gently.

"Can I do it to you again?" she asked, looking up at him with a slight pout. "Please?"

"Katie, I don't think I can…" He stammered, but still felt himself twitch again in her hand at the idea.

"Oh, just let me try," she said before she closed her lips around him again. "And this time... I'll even add a little more fun."

He groaned and pulled on her hair, enough to get her eyes to his. "I want a kiss first," he smiled and she crawled up to him, kissing his skin and sucking on his neck before finally kissing his lips, his tongue peeking inside her mouth just as she pulled away.

"I'll let you come inside me," she whispered to him, pulling back from his lips just enough to look into his eyes before he said anything. "I'm ovulating…"

She watched as his pupils dilated with lust, his lips claiming her a moment later as he pinned her underneath him. That was when he knew she was a goner and that she wasn't going anywhere anytime soon.
