The canonical characters from the "Harry Potter" books and movies belong to Joanne K. Rowling, as does the Wizarding World and all associated concepts. Ms. Rowling is utterly unaware that I or my stories exist, and is probably happier for it. This story is written to serve as nothing more than an outlet for one of my hobbies. I'm doing it because I felt like it and am not planning to realize any sort of monetary award for it.

The plot for "Harry Potter & The Search For Peace" is mine.

It was the last day of August. The month had ended too soon for Harry and Ron's liking. Presently they both were sitting in the Burrow, having just finished their dinners. Mrs Weasley had cooked a magnificent meal, consisting of everyone's favourites. While Harry and Ron had been contended with the meals cooked by Mickey, no one cooked as good as Mrs Weasley.

"Oh, you all have grown up so much," Mrs Weasley said emotionally. Her emotions could be easily explained. Hermione and Ginny were leaving for Hogwarts the next day and Charlie too was returning to Romania. Harry and Ron had already shifted to Godric's Hollow. The house was going to be empty now. It was not like she had never lived in an empty house before but Harry assumed that after Fred's death, she did not like being away from her children.

"So, what have you thought about the Quidditch team? What position will you play as?" Ron asked his sister. She had received her Hogwarts letter in the beginning of August and along with it was the badge for Quidditch Captain. Hermione was the Head Girl. It was not as if Harry had expected anything else. Hermione was the brightest witch of her age and Ginny was an excellent Quidditch player. They both deserved the positions.

"I will keep my options open. Though I prefer playing as a Chaser, finding a seeker as good as Harry is going to be difficult." Harry chuckled at the statement. Ginny had been telling him that he should come back to Hogwarts so that she could win the Quidditch Cup. It was a joke but it made Harry realise how much he was going to miss her.

That night Harry went to visit his parents' graves. He was starting his Auror training the next day and he wanted to talk to them. Their portraits in the Library didn't make him feel as good as talking to their graves did. He often wondered what his life would have been like if they had been alive. From the memories Andromeda and Professor McGonagall had left for him and the memories he had found in the box Remus had left him, he knew that he had been the centre of their world.

As he walked back to his house, a silver tabby cat came to him – Professor McGonagall wanted him to floo over. Harry hurried to the house and flooed over to Headmistress's office at Hogwarts. "Good to see you, Harry," Professor McGonagall gave him a brief smile. "You wanted to see me, Professor?" Harry asked. She nodded, "I wanted to tell you something. Take a seat."

Harry settled down in front of her. "As you know that we were short of three teachers this year – Defence, Muggle Studies and Transfiguration. Now I have found replacement for all three. Defence shall be taught by Professor Janet Hope, Muggle Studies by Professor Ethan Williams and Transfiguration by Professor Mary Macdonald." Harry stared at her. He had heard that name before in Snape's memories.

"She was a friend of your mother," Professor McGonagall continued, "They were close, nothing like you and Mr Weasley, but they were close friends. When she had learned about your parents' murder and Sirius's supposed betrayal, she had gone to America. She wanted a break from all that had happened. When she learned that you have finally defeated Lord Voldemort, she returned and now wishes to meet you."

"Meet me?" Harry's anger flared but before he could say something Professor McGonagall spoke, "I have already informed her that I shall not help her in anyway. I wanted you to know this because once Miss Granger and Miss Weasley are here, Professor Macdonald might try to contact you through them. I will have this conversation with them tomorrow."

"You should talk about this to Neville too. I have mentioned him as my family in my Auror details. He would be notified in case I get injured."
"So, I suppose Miss Weasley will be wishing to leave the school to visit you? You are a magnet to accidents."
Harry chuckled but shook his head, "We haven't mentioned Hermione or Ginny. Their names will be added next year when they can come without troubling you. Neville's letter said that as an Assistant Professor, he could leave the school by informing you."

Professor McGonagall nodded, "Once he joins as a full time Professor, he shall be the Head of Gryffindor house. At present, he will be assisting me in the duties as the Head." Harry smiled. He knew Neville would make an excellent Head of House.
