-Jack's pov
I could hear the banging of flesh against the concrete as I came closer and closer to the parking lot, I stopped once I came close enough to get a clear view without attracting Baki's attention.
Baki was being thrown around from the floor to the ceiling and the walls as everything was getting covered in his blood, it looked like he was fighting a fearsome battle but he was the only one there.
'So he at the level where he can only affect his own body by making cuts and bruises appear but not manifest his opponent to the naked eye' I thought as I continued to watch Baki's rehearsal, the only reason I was surprised was because the announcer managed to know what was happening in the manga so I thought he was able to manifest them but apparently he is still not there yet.
But it was probably due to the announcer's experience from watching hundreds of matches making it so he can know what the invisible opponent is doing from Baki's movements and body language.
But watch him fight the phantom I frowned
I still can't figure out how he is doing it.
I'm familiar with shadow boxing but this goes beyond that I would have to go against my own commonsense to be ably to do something like this or be really damn high on some mushrooms so my logical mind wouldn't get in the way.
Then again that makes sense even yujiro didn't believe it at first when Strydum told him about the giant mantis and Retsu never heard of it being done on this level and considering the hard-on he has for his 4000 years of history chances are it hasn't been done before.
That only leaves me with one explanation for how he is managing to do it the demon brain, Baki's own unique Hanma trait the source of his genius
Now that I think about every full-blooded Hanma seems to have some kind of unique trait or ability.
Yuuichirou had impossible wide shoulders and his aura was so terrible that it even made pickle cower the same pickle that faced yujiro just fine.
Yujiro seems to have a ridiculously strong body even more so than his father and he can see the internals of people around him allowing him to tell if they have any injuries or illnesses.
And Baki seems to have the demon brain which I believe is the most useful out of all of them since it was one of the factors that allowed Baki to get as strong as he is so fast.
With the only problem is that his body can't seem to keep up with his will as it shows in his play date with yujiro his body gave out under the constant stress from the fight but he was still able to create a phantom of himself to hit yujiro.
If his fight with yujiro was delayed a couple of years then chances are Baki could have given him a proper fight instead of them just playing around.
I turned my attention back to Baki who seems to be done with his rehearsal.
'Looks like I will need to figure out things to be able to use this kind of shadow boxing effectively but that will have to wait for now' I thought as I turned around and went back to the waiting room so I could watch the actual fight between Baki and Retsu.
I Watched as Baki and Retsu fought and I couldn't help but agree with Baki that it was just like the rehearsal.
Retsu just took off his shoes and started and started kicking Baki's ass and every single one of his moves was in the rehearsal
While none of it surprised me it was still amazing to see with my own eyes just how accurate Baki's prediction of the fight was.
As the fight ended with Baki twisting Retsu's neck I thought back to how to mimic his shadow boxing but suddenly an idea struck me lucid dreaming.
The idea came from nightmare on elm Street if can create a similar effect to how freddy krueger kills his victims in that movie I can just dream about fighting anyone I want kind of like a mindscape.
From there I can gradually switch from being fully asleep to half and then I can just do it by simple interning meditation that will let me train any place at any time.
And if I can switch meditation with sleep I couldn't help but get a massive grin on my face at the thought of doubling my training time.
"...sir...SIR" I was snapped out of my daydreaming by one of the handlers calling me as I turned to look at him "yes?" I asked him as I noticed his legs were shaking "t...th..th the match".
"Oh yeah thanks," I said as I stood up and went off to change my clothes hoping that I didn't scare the poor guy too badly with my grin 'note to self don't daydream in public you might give someone a heart attack'
