''My angel of night...'' Goliath kneels before the remains of his lost love. Stone... all but pieces of crumbling stone. He cries to the moon, the stars before his stone eyes.

And I stood there, watching. I did nothing but being a witness of human nature's dark cries.

Even Goliath's people, the folks he protected... feared him somehow, even knowing a lot of his. Statue by day, Gargoyle by night. He felt love, hatred, anger, but knew when it was time to feel these things, not all the same time. It's hard to not feel a thing at time, when the whole world seems to be falling apart, crushing your being. Now... Is that why I was brought here, Xehanort? Why I was summoned to the dark ages of human history?

Tell me! No more secrets to hide! I'm done with your cryptic words!

''Shhh!... Be quiet. Chill out, kid'' said a voice coming from the darkness. I know this voice, and who he is ''Why do we speak this way? Well, because telling the whole lot of history would be, eh.. boring?'' it was Demyx, one of the members of Organization XIII, candidate for being a Xehanort host. As it seems, he truly is.

''Demyx!''

''Yup. The one, and only. Xehanort too!'' he said, with a guitar Keyblade summoned in hand.

''I don't want to battle you. I'm done with fighting'' I really am.

''You gave up? Pfft. You didn't even tried.''

''I never give up. I just feel these battles are... useless.''

''You feel this way because you haven't experienced the heat of a true battle, baby!'' he may be right. Sora has been fighting instead of me, while I trained and trained with Aqua. I'm not even ready to fight yet, but this world forces me too. No... I must resist battling this way.

''Tell me... why?''

''Tell you what?''

''You know. Why? Why do you insist? I'm tired. Of waiting. For the truth that never arrives.''

''Truth is only half-a-quarter explanation of the view you call by reality'' Demyx said, as he rushed over me, almost cutting me in a half with its Keyblade. I avoided him at the nick of time. And again ''You're speaking with the wrong man, kid.''

''A man? You gave up humanity soon as you've became Xehanort.''

''Yep'' and I almost got my ankle sprained. My keyblade backs and forth his own. Demyx is strong, but I feel it's only half the power.

''You're not alone. I know, you from Organization XIII, have each other.''

''No more'' he said, with a serious face ''They've tried to become Xehanort. Everyone died, except for me.''

''Nobody can die. You're lying.''

''Maybe I am.''

''Where are we?'' we dance on the darkness, our Keyblades creating sparkles of light.

''Not in the same place as you've been.''

''Where are we!'' I said, demanding a clear answer from Demyx

''How can I tell? Eh, we are moving throught time, so do you want me to count the numbers?

''Tell the truth, and I'll spare your throat'' I said, still on defensive stance.

''Whoa! You're quite... something. Yeah, maybe one day you can be up to my standards.''

''Your standards? I refuse them!'' last time I tried to take one of them down, I failed. Had to call for Sora's power to win. This time, I'll resist, no need of Sora.

''You don't know what you're talking about.''

''And why are we fighting?''

''Because they made us do that.''

''They?'' I've always felt an external force controlling my actions.

''Yeah, fate, misunderstanding, circumstance... call it whatever way you want'' could it be?...

''Do you mean... Xehanort?''

''Nah. But you're close.''

Yes, there's a bit of Xehanort in everyone, it's what we call by Id. You see, kids have an uncontrollabe desire for achieving what they can't. Being a toy, or their parent's attention all time, they need to learn, or better, forced to control themselves. I know what you feel for Sora. You want to be like him, no, be him on its entirety. You hate your existence so much you want another to take place of your pitiful being. Accept Xehanort, and you'll be fine. You'll always be a kid, have anything you want... I can't have. No, I can't. I am who I am. I might feel lost without Sora, but I don't want to be him. I am already myself, have a name... Kairi. He always liked this name.

''Enough!'' someone else said. I didn't knew who it was. By the time I took notice, Demyx was gone. Was he really there at first place? I don't know. All I know is that a strange figure came in, out the dark.

''W-who are you?'' I asked. He didn't replied. Only with a crossbow, which made it throught my heart! ARGH... you fuck!... oh, why. Why did I said it?... I never swore in my life... my life... I feel to the ground, took a better look to its face. He looked like... like... ''...S-S-Sora?''

''Yes. And no. I am Yozora, the Night Sky.''

After so many years, he is alive. Cold as stone.

''Close your eyes, and listen, kiddo. Everything is connected. Even if it doesn't make any sense. Ya heard me!... everything... connected'' those were Demyx's last words. And Yozora stared at me, as if he knew me...

''Strelitzia... I'll be waiting for you on the other side.''

''...Finally, you woke up'' said a blurred figure, soon as I began to open my eyes ''I was worried sick. I thought... Oh, I refuse to touch a lady, even if it means to listen to her heart. Are you okay?''

''Yes'' I said to him, whoever he is. I open my eyes, letting light come inside, and I see a talking rat. A very skinny one, wearing a hat and hanging a spear on its back. He seems worried ''Where I am?''

''I found you laying outside. Are you okay?''

''I am okay'' even without knowing where I am. Reality, as it seems. I open the window, and its raining. Everything looks so gray, so lifeless, yet I see children playing outside this house ''Excuse me, but who are you? You haven't told me your name

''Oh! Sorry... I even forget the basic of commands'' he said, brushing his hair with a smirk ''My name is Fratley. Fratley Irontail.''

''Please to meet you. Kairi'' so I and Fratley waved hands. Hand and claw.

''And I am Peter Parker'' said a man crawling on the ceiling like a spider ''At least, a piece of his. Benjamin Reilly, to be honest. We'll talk later, okay? See you in the kitchen with the Priest'' he crawled to the door, without walking on same floor as I am standing.

''Okay... So, Fratley Irontail, isn't it?''

''Or just Fratley. See, I used to be a Sir, but well... who cares?

''I care.''

''How so? You don't even know me.''

''And you don't know me, but still, took care of me.''

''Oh, did I?'' what a weird guy. Maybe he's just shy ''Thanks. I mean, would I let you be laying on that street? Kids and charriages can be pretty mean, you , even if I don't know you, I might say, uh... you look pretty.

''Thanks.''

''No! I don't... I don't mean pretty. Well, I'm j-just saying...'' Fratley's gray face became red ''Any problem calling you by beautiful?

''I see no problem. That's very kind of you.''

''Right. You see, I like ladies with long hair. That's why I had to mention-''

''Long... hair?'' I gasped. I don't remember having... oh. So I looked to a mirror near the bed I layed before, and- ''Wait!... when did I? My hair!

''I know it's soaked. It always rains at Burmecia, and still outsiders complain about it for ages.

''Burmecia?''

''Yes. The Kingdom of Burmecia, that's where we are. Home. Could you believe this house, like many others, was raised from the ruins?''

''What happened?'' I stared to the mirror, while Fratley stared at the open window. The room suddenly became colder, like a candle passed out.

''War. It's what happens. You think you can change it, but you really can't. When I was young... who am I fooling? I am still young, I can do the change while I can. It's just that I can't... We're humans, after all. Am I an human enough?''

''What do you mean?'' he went from goofy to serious, all of sudden. It's what they call by tonal shift, but this sudden...

''I mean... uh, sorry. I have my own problems, Kairi. You shouldn't worry much.''

''You can tell me about your problems, Fratley. Sometimes, you can't just keep something to yourself'' so I said. Fratley raised from his crestfallen position, so did his ears.

''Well, let's begin with you. What brought you here?'' I wonder.

''I wasn't supposed to be here, was I?'' then I looked to the window again.

From a darkness... to another. A whole Kingdom engulfed into darkness.

''You must be hungry'' Fratley said, as the room was filled of my stomach cries ''Let's go to the kitchen, like Ben said.''

''Yes'' so I went downstairs. Something in Fratley's walk... he walked these stairs up and down a hundred times. Despite the weariness of his face and clothes, he sheds of a lavender scent. At the kitchen, I met this Benjamin I've seen crawling at the ceiling before, eating some bread, sitting near a black man wearing a purple outfit. The Priest Ben briefly mentioned. I thought it was Xehanort, but it wasn't. Fratley and Ben and that Priest by the name of Enrico Pucci talked to each other, as if they were longtime friends. And I, well... I stood quiet. I don't even know what I'm supposed to do, if I really am doing something.

Oh, come on, Kairi. Surely you did something. With the Keyblade or not. So I take a piece of break. Ouch! Too hard for my teeth. And the cookies are wet, yuck.I don't mean to say any of this is bad. I really don't want to say anything to Fratley. He seems tired, bothered by its own problems. One more won't help him out. So I listen. The coffee is alright. Listen, Kairi and you might find something to work out.

''... Judas Traveller, that bitch, sent me here with a portal'' said Ben, drinking a cup ''Sorry if bitch is too much for you, Father Pucci.''

''It's fine, my brother'' said Pucci, eating cherries from a twig without using its hands

''Well, I miss NY. At least it ain't rainy all the time. Nothing against the rain, you see, but a bit of sun is fine for the skin. Don't you think, Mr. Irontail?''

''I do'' said Fratley, looking down on his dish ''Maybe that's why I wanted to leave Burmecia years ago. To feel something new.''

''Every young man demands of the new'' Pucci said, as he began reading the bible after finishing the meal.

''Heard anything about Freya?'' Ben asked to Fratley. They didn't even perceived that I'm here, other than a few quick looks. Specially coming from Pucci.

''Freya? No, I didn't. She left a week ago. Knowing where she is would be fine. I don't mean to interrupt her quest, in any way. Like, she has her own goals and dreams. Giving up of these for an only man's will.''

''The man she loved, you mean.''

''Loved. I don't know what she found on me that wasn't in the rest.''

''Maybe she likes skinny guys.''

''Maybe'' so Fratley looked at me ''Isn't that funny, Kairi? Oh... who knows what Freya saw on me.''

''You're kind'' I said.

''Am I? I mean, I just do things to feel better for myself.''

''It's because you worry enough about the another.''

''Does I?''

''Yes, you do'' It's like I am talking to a doll, but I don't want to be mean.

''Well, people are attracted to each other by many ways. Do you believe in gravity?'' Pucci asked, facing my direction. I didn't knew what to say ''You may agree or not, but I do believe we are all attracted to each other by a force. I call it gravity. Yes, same that made the apple fell out the tree, same that makes waterfalls not rise to the skies... Gravity is the answer.''

''The answer to what?''

''For a life filled of so many questions... what are your questions?'' I don't know, but there's something deep in Pucci's voice. When he said those words, Ben raised from the table, so did Fratley.

''I need to find a cure for my celular degeneration'' Benjamin said, to which he stared at its own cracking skin in fear, but confident of having what's needed for turning the tides.

''And I, like the scarecrow, needs a brain. Only a brain can host memories, which I've lost together of autumn's wind and its dried leaves'' Fratley said, all sensitive. An old wound exposed, but he felt free like the tears running down his face.

''What about you, Kairi? Which answer do you have?'' I don't know, Pucci. There's so many questions, few answers. But like I said before, something about keeping it inside... No, it's been so long since I keep it inside.

''I need to find Sora. Yes, I do. Why? Because he doesn't know if I still exist. That very doubt must come to an end.''

For a moment, I think I've only said these things because my hair grew up, and because I look older with long hair. I am more than a hair. I am myself. Yet, I can't ignore what I feel for Sora. I miss him so much, and that might sound selfish at times. The child within speaks at these times. But when you love the child, she speaks not by herself, but the another. You offer her a warm hug not because she asked, but because you feel better knowing someone feels better.
