ARIZONA'S POV

I closed and locked the door behind me as I entered my office. Things between Eliza and I had become heated during class, and to ensure nobody became suspicious, I had left the classroom before Eliza even had the opportunity to look up from her bag. What had got into me?I told Eliza that I didn't want to overstep but then have been initiating sexual situations between us uncontrollably. Eliza had a power over me that I needed to stop underestimating because sexting my student in class was absolutely crossing the line.

As I sat at my desk, I couldn't help but feel guilty about leaving without saying anything to her, but we were both flustered and I felt it best nobody saw us talking. I had only intended on teasing her, but the second Eliza started talking about all the things she wanted to do, wanting to do between my legs under my desk, I lost all self control.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door, my heart immediately quickening. Is it Eliza? Does she want to continue what we started? No, no. I can't think like that, we can't hook up in my office, that was one moment of madness and will not be happening again. But what if she kisses me, pushes me onto the desk and spreads my legs, kneels between them. No. No I had to stop.

"Who is it?" I called out, my voice decibels higher than normal.

"It's Teddy," I heard her reply on the other side of the door, relief washing over me as I got up to open the door. "Since when do you lock your door?" Teddy questioned, walking through and taking a seat.

"Oh, Stark keeps inviting himself in so I've started locking it," I lie, taking a seat behind my desk.

Teddy nodded in understanding, sliding her jacket off her shoulders and getting comfortable in the chair. "I need to talk to you."

I felt my heart start to pound. Does she know?

"I need to ask you something, and I want you to think about your answer first because I know your first instinct is going to be to say no," Teddy said pointedly, crossing one leg over the other.

She knows.

"So I know that you're not dating anyone," Teddy continued. I started to play with my fingers, unable to hold her eye contact, worried I would give myself away. "I met someone on an app, I know, don't judge me. We have been talking for a week, and tomorrow we have a date planned and since I was so nervous we decided to make it a double date.."

I then caught on. "No. No way."

"Arizona please, I told you to finish listening before you said no!"

"Teddy I am not going on a double date with you and some straight guy who is bringing along his straight guy friend-"

"-it's a woman," Teddy interrupted, leaving me open-mouthed. "I have been talking to a woman. It came out of nowhere, there was an immediate connection and she knows I've never been with a woman before so she suggested a double date to help with my comfort levels."

I was still stunned. Teddy had never mentioned being into women, and it had only been 4 months since Henry had passed.

"Please say something, you're making me nervous."

Reaching across my desk, I held her hand in my own. "You are ready to start dating again?" I asked quietly, hoping not to offend.

She contemplated the question for a moment. "Originally I wasn't looking for dating. I wanted to have a conversation with someone who didn't talk to me expecting me to break down any second. But when I started talking to her, there was a spark, and I can't pass up the opportunity to see if there is something more here."

If only you knew how much I could relate.

I sat, staring down at my desk, wondering what to say back to her. I was happy for her, a little shocked, but happy.

"And I know you're not seeing anyone at the moment, so I was hoping you wouldn't mind coming with me," Teddy finished.

There was a moment of silence before I could find the right words. "I love you Teds, it's really exciting that you're forming a new connection and I of course support you 100%, but I'm not sure a double date is going to make this more comfortable."

Teddy looked at me, disappointed. "It would make me feel more comfortable."

I did not know what to do. I want to be there for my friend, but I don't want to upset Eliza. Going out on dates with other people definitely wasn't a part of their agreement, even if this one was a special circumstance.

"Are you seeing someone?" Teddy asked.

Ugh. What am I supposed to say?

"Arizona," Teddy probed. "The only reason I could think my easy-going, casual dating friend wouldn't support me on a double date is if she was seeing someone else."

Contemplating my options for a moment; if I tell Teddy I'm seeing someone, she would want to know who it was and ask to meet them. If I say I'll go on the double date, I can talk to Eliza about it this evening and explain the situation, maybe she would be understanding.

"Okay I'll come with you, but this is just a casual thing right? The other woman knows we are just there to support?"

Teddy did a little dance, which was very cute. "Yes, casual, no pressure. You're the best!"

I'm not sure Eliza is going to think so.

ELIZA'S POV

As I packed up my bag, I was in disbelief as to what had just happened. By the time Arizona had called time on the class my underwear was soaked through, my eyes must've burnt holes in her clothes the way I had been looking at her. I grabbed my jacket off the back of the chair and looked up to give the blonde a cheeky wink before leaving when I saw an empty desk and no sign of her anywhere. That's unusual, we normally always have a moment at the end of class.

Just as I was wondering if I should head to her office in an attempt to find her, I felt my phone vibrating and saw Maggie's name, disappointed it wasn't Arizona.

"What's up?" I answered bluntly.

"Hey what's got your panties in a twist?"

"Ugh nothing, just got a headache," I replied as I exited the classroom, still wondering if I should head to Arizona's office.

"Gross, here I was just checking you're still coming over, I'm not sure I want this negative energy around me right now," Maggie chuckled.

"Oh yeah? Well who's going to bring you your assortment of fruits if not me?"

She was silent on the other end of the phone. "Mistakes were made, I admit it..."

I laughed. "Mhm, that's what I thought. I've just finished class so I'll go to the shop and then head straight over."

"You're the best, love you," Maggie said, making kissing noises through the phone before hanging up.

I decided against attempting to find Arizona and instead sent her a quick text.

E: Hoping I didn't turn you into a puddle Professor Robbins. Shall I still head over to yours later?

I chuckled to myself, sliding my phone into my pocket, happy with my message.

The grocery store was only 5 minutes from Maggie's, so once I grabbed all the requested items it take long to get there.

"My angel!" Maggie bowed down as I entered through the door.

"You seem to be feeling much better than this morning!" I replied as I emptied most of the items into the fridge. "No Amelia?"

Maggie smirked at me, grabbing the punnet of cherries before I could fridge them, "She went to Link's last night."

"She did not!" I slammed the fridge door shut, shocked.

"After you left she called him apparently," Maggie said as she took the waters I was holding from my hands. We sat down on the couch together, putting our feet up on the coffee table as we shared the cherries. "Speaking of which, where did you go last night?" Maggie looked at me, eyebrow raised.

"I told you I got too drunk and headed home."

"Hmmm, not what your 'find a friend' told me," Maggie said sheepishly. I went silent, not sure what to say. Maggie turned her body towards me. "Something you need to tell me?"

"Not really," I replied.

Maggie started to laugh. "She can't be that bad, who did you go home with?" I couldn't look her in the eye. "Eliza?"

"Ugh fine, it was April okay!" I sighed, getting up to remove my jacket and seating myself on the opposite couch.

Maggie eyed me up suspiciously, biting into a cherry. "April lives on campus, you were over by Henley Park."

"Ummm yeah, yeah I know, we went back to one of her friend's places."

"Which friend?" Maggie questioned, taking another bite of a cherry.

"Jackson," I replied, immediately realising it was too quick of an answer.

Maggie placed the cherries on the coffee table and perched on the edge of the couch, her attention fully on me. "Why don't I believe you?" I shrugged, grabbing the cherries from the table. "Why is my gut telling me that Professor Robbins lives by Henley Park?"

The question took me off guard, choking slightly on the cherry I had just popped into my mouth. Maggie quickly got up to help me as I started to cough, patting my back to stop me from choking.

"Why would I know where Professor Robbins lives? What would she have anything to do with this?" I asked with a fake chuckle.

Maggie slouched back on the opposite couch, grabbing her water and taking a sip, her eyes never leaving mine. I shifted uncomfortably in my seat, pretending to be more interested in a mark on the coffee table than anything else.

"Eliza, are you sleeping with her?" Maggie asked pointedly.

I started to laugh again but quickly stopped at the look on her face.

"No Maggie, why would you think that?"

"Call it best friend intuition. Because if you are sleeping with her, I'm not judging, she's hot, but if you were, I'd rather you were honest with me." I sat dumbfounded, at a loss of what to say. "Eliza, have you slept with her?"

"No," Eliza replied.

"Well then-"

"But I kissed her," I interrupted, immediately regretting it.

Maggie slapped her thighs, laughing. "I knew it! I fucking knew it! I told Amelia, when you said you would be at your apartment the other day you were with her right?!"

I nodded and Maggie continued to laugh.

"You cannot tell Amelia, nobody else can know about this Maggie!"

Maggie came over to sit next to me, grabbing both of my hands. "Of course I won't say anything, but Eliza, what are you doing?"

"I don't know, it kind of happened out of nowhere. But we're not having sex whilst she's my teacher, we don't want to-"

"-break the rules? Babe I think that damage has already been done." We sat in silence for a moment, both of us drinking our water, not sure what to say next. "So is she your girlfriend?"

"No, we haven't even talked about that yet, we have literally only kissed once."

"Last night?"

"No, yesterday in her office."

"Her office? Eliza!" I regretted sharing that piece of information. "What are you doing? You could get her fired! What if you got kicked out of school two months before graduation?"

I got up from the couch and walked over to the kitchen, feeling claustrophobic from Maggie's questions.

"We're being careful," I spoke quietly. "I know it's crazy, but Maggie I really like her."

"I can tell, but-"

"-I know. I know you care about me Maggie, but you also have to trust me," I interrupt. I grab some chocolate from the cupboard and move back over to the couches.

"I can't believe you're fucking Professor Robbins!" Maggie exclaims.

"Maggie I am not sleeping with her!" I reply, opening the chocolate and lifting a piece to my lips.

"Yet!" Maggie laughs, stealing my chocolate before I manage to take a bite.
