Happy POV

Fish fish fish...

"Oiii Happy! Have Salamander and Bunny girl returned yet?" Gajeel said.

"Natsu... Lushiiiii" I said sniffling, "the forgot me on their sticky mission..." I cried.

"Sticky mission?" Levy said shooting me a questioning. Look.

"Yeah, Natsu was all excited because he was going on a sticky mission with Lushi. Something about the moon and honey, he told me to give Charla a fish while he was gone. He's been gone for too long and Charla said no to my fish again. Natsu said she wouldn't do that!"

"You mean honeymoon Happy. They should be returning soon. It's only been 2 weeks and we saw them 3 days ago. Lucy isn't able to travel yet. She was badly wounded"

sniff sniff* "Lushi is hurt?" I said crying more.

"Wendy is with her she will be alright" Lisanna said from the bar. "You can stay with me Happy if you want"

"Aye sir!" I said flying into Lisanna.

I hope Lucy is okay... I don't want her hurt and she's ugly when she cries.

"So, Happy, how is Natsu lately? Has he started seeing anyone?" Lisanna asked as we walked down the snow covered street.

"He's sees people all he time" I replied.

"What?"

"Why are you surprised? He has eyes Lisanna, why wouldn't he see people?, OH my god! Is he blind?" I said horrified.

"He isn't blind Happy, what I mean is, does he have a girlfriend? "

"Uhhhhh well-" Lucy...maybe

"Let me rephrase, does he have someone special like how Gajeel is with Levy?" She asked.

"Well, Lucy I would guess. I knowLucy loves him but he is too dumb to understand ?" I asked.

"Well at one time I loved Natsu..."

"Fufufu" I chuckled, "I know. He has Lucy now though." I said stern.

"Calm down Happy, I'm not after Natsu, I was just wondering if he every tried to pursue anyone." She saidsighing.

"No, why would he? He already has Lushi" i stated again, taking a Large bit of my Fish. I wonder when he'll tell her he loves her.

No one POV

Sometime that evening...

Ring ring ring

"Hello?" Happy said answering the lacrima device, Lucy gave him when they left.

"Hey bud," a familiar voice said picking up the call. Lisanna had already had already gone to bed so He decided to sneak into her living room to take the call.

"Natsu...How is she?" He asked the sniffles starting.

Looking at the phone he saw his friends face, he frowned then answered, "She's okay. She is sleeping at the moment. So did Charla accept your fish?"

"No you liar! You said she would! And How long are you and Lucy going to stay gone anyway? You've abandoned me for some sticky mission and I'm alone and Lucy is hurt! What happened too her? And why is it dark?" Happy asked as his emotions were running away with him.

"Not too much longer, we haven't been able to find the Soul Render. He's due an ass whopping from all of us for what he did to Lucy. The others are here with us although I think it might be best for Lucy to come back given he current state." Natsu said looking over at her.

She was healing, they were all supposed to go looking for the render today but she collapsed after walking the beach for twenty minutes.

"Happy, can I ask you something?" Natsu said.

"Aye sir! You can ask me anything" Happy said putting a fish in his mouth.

"How do you know if you love someone like husband and wife? Or like Nakama? I kissed Lucy the other day and-"

"Oooooo you liiikkkeeeee each other!" Happy said grinning.

"Happy I'm serious, she hasn't mentioned it since then, did I do it wrong?" Natsu said.

"Probably," another voice said.

"Lisanna... hey did we wake you?" Happy asked Still chowing down.

"It's fine, what did you say to her Natsu," she asked her hand over her pounding heart.

"Well I didn't really say much, I just leaned forward and kissed her then told her we're husband and wife isn't that want they do. She told me that we were in a mission and aren't really husband and wife. I told her that it didn't matter I just wanted too." he said grinning.

"Baaakaaa" they both replied in unison.

"Nani?" He said puzzled.

"You didn't tell her you love her... you just kissed then used the excuse that sounded like it was because of the mission. Natsu how are you so dense? Did Igneel not teach you anything?" Lisanna said face palming.

"Natsu... Lushi has loved you for a long time. All those times I said you like each other was a hint big dummy" Happy said.

"Oiii I'm not a dummy Happy! I just learned that there is a different kind of love that isn't Nakama and guild. That's what I feel for her. Why does it matter how I say it? Well always be together anyway" he said slightly annoyed.

"Because Natsu, one of the greatest joys about new love, is the desire to confess it to the world and the person you care for. Don't you want her to know how your heart burns for her? Don't you want the world to know she is yours?" Lisanna said tearing up.

Flash back

"Natsuuuuuuu! I love you!" Lisanna yelled at the top of her lungs.

"Haiiiiiiii" Natsu yelled back. The two children holding were running around a strange egg. They had found and decided to raise it like a family.

"It takes Love Natsu. Come on! We have to make the egg so happy the baby inside wants to come out!" She said to little Natsu.

"Make him happy?" Natsu said puzzled.

"Hai! We have to yell our love for one another as the baby will feel the love. Love should always be confessed. That's where it take some of its happiest forms!" She said gripping her hand firmly around his.

"Oh okay. Operation! Happy! Let's make this egg happy with love! I love you little egg! come out!" Natsu said.

"Even after all this time Natsu, you still don't get it." Lisanna said, "you need to tell her what's in your heart. Lucy I would imagine is confused by the kiss, afraid that it doesn't mean to you what it does to her, panicked your partnership and friendship might be ruined because of her feelings. You have to tell her your side. She has been patient long enough Natsu".

"Another Operation Happy huh?" He chuckled.

"What operation? I haven't been on any operations? what's he talking about Lisanna?" Happy said confused.

"Nothing Happy, let's go to sleep. He has some plans to make." Lisanna said then walked out of the picture.

"Ahh, good night Happy and thanks to you both. I get it now." He said with a grin, "Moetekita..."

Hanging up he walked back into the dark room where Lucy was still sleeping. Sliding under the covers he scooted closer to her. "I love you... " he whispered pulling her close. Sighing she scooted her self back into his chest as his arm pulled her into him more. The scent of vanilla filling his nose. He too sighed in content and then drifted into sleep.

The next morning Erza has called everyone to me in one of the common rooms at the resort. Wendy walked in first carrying a large box of donuts. Placing them on the table she went and grabbed some plates for one of the cabinets. Juvia wasn't too far behind. She too walked in with something.

"Is that coffee?" Wendy asked.

"Yeah Juvia thought it'd be nice to go with your donuts." She said.

"Definitely!" Wendy said excitedly.

"Juvia knows Gray-sama would like sugar In his coffee I'll get get some," she said turning and walking out the door, only to bump into her a cold hard figure. "Excuse me-" she said.

"Morning." Gray said looking down at her. His cheeks shown a slight pink to them.

"Gray-sama! "Juvia said jumping into his arms.

"Juvia... let go!" He said pulling away from her, but she was already wrapped around him. Someone cleared their throat snapping them out of it.

"Excuse me." Jellal said looking at the two of them. He smirked slightly as they separated. Walking past he walked straight up to Erza. Giving her a small kiss on the cheek, "morning", he said with a low voice. Chills erupted on her skin.

"Mo-mo-moring..." Erza said steam flowing from her ears and her face went red. Leaning in Jellal whispered, "I don't think it's just the male anatomy that makes you defenseless. I'm starting to believe it's me... I did enjoy our time last night though" he finished, pulling away he went over to the table to help Wendy set up. Leaving Erza in a state of disarray.

"Told you... " Gray said leaning over to Natsu as he Lucy walked in.

"Strange... but I like it" Natsu said, "do you want something to eat Lucy?"

"I'm starving actually, I can get-" Lucy said stepping forward as her leg gave out. Even with Wendy's healing the torn muscle being repaired it still was weaker. She fell forward.

"I got you," Gray said catching her.

"Gray-sama... Juvia will take Lucy to her seat." Juvia said quickly separating Gray from Lucy and walking her to a chair at the table.

"You tell her yet?" Gray said quietly enough he knew his friend could hear with his dragon hearing.

"No, she was asleep the first time. You tell Juvia?" Natsu said back.

"Nope, I don't plan too. Not until I'm strong enough to protect her." Gray said.

"Sounds lonely" Natsu said walking forward, "put some damn clothes on you ugly faced fuck"

"Oiii you wanna go flame brain?" Gray said putting his fist in to his palm.

"Natsu! Don't fight" Lucy said.

"Hai haiiii wifeeeee, I'll grab you some food" he chuckled watching her face turn pink.

"Natsu sure seems loving," Juvia said to Lucy.

"He's just taking this mission way too serious." Lucy replied sighing.

"I think Natsu-San loves Lucy-San" Wendy said walking over to the two girls.

"What? Love? Hahaha" Lucy starting laughing, and hard. "He doesn't know what romantic love is Wendy." Lucy said wiping her eyes.

"I think Wendy is right Lucy." Juvia said. "You didn't see him during those days we were looking for you. He was in a panic like I've never seen before."

"Hai, the day we found you, before we had your location Natsu went erratic thinking what if you had been taken off the island. He threatened to burn it all down. He wanted to evacuate the island and search for you in flames. He said 'even if I have to burn everything to ash, I will find her'. When we finally had your coordinates Jellal gave specific instructions not to engage whoever had you. But I knew that would anyway. I enchanted him so he could bust into the compound. I know we had instructions not to but I know Natsu-San. You're everything to him he wouldn't wait for everyone else".

"Everything?" Lucy said dazed.

"Here you go! Coffee and 2 glazed donuts. I wasn't sure if you wanted filled ones so I brought a jam filled one too. I can get you-"

"Arigatou, Natsu" Lucy said standing to hug him, but her left leg gave again. She fell forward as two arms wrapped around her to steady her.

"Anything" he said, placing forehead to hers as he helped her sit back down.

Numerous eyes watched the two as faces turned pink from the cute display. Clearing his throat, Jellal spoke, "The wannabe render gave us some information. We believe the real render is here on the island. We removed one of his splices, however, the other two I have Melody and the rest of my guild handling. In a coordinated offensive strike we can take them all out and then move on to the render himself. Natsu, you and Lucy are to search the south of the island. There was a fortress there."

"I don't think Lucy is able-" Erza started. Jellal leaned over and whispered, "you think he'll separate from her?"

"Fair enough" Erza replied quickly.

"Okay!" Natsu said slamming his fists together, "Wendy should come too, Lucy still isn't 100%"

"I'm fine Natsu"

"Wendy is to go with Juvia and Gray, they'll be heading back to Fairytail to help handle the splice in the council. He happens to use ice magic." Jellal said.

"Hmm, then Lucy should go back to the guild. She'd be safest there.." Natsu said his eyes closed like he's really concentrating.

"What.." they all said in unison.

"Well she'd be safest with me but in her current condition...I think it is what is best," he said opening his eyes. "Yosh! Lucy will return with Gray and Juvia."

"Excuse me! Don't make my decisions for me. I'm not going anywhere I'm staying with you Natsu. I want to get that bastard just as much as anyone else...he.. he let.. I am coming!" Lucy said standing and slamming her fists on the table. There was panic in her eyes and her breathing went erratic. She wobbled for a moment but Natsu caught her she fell he sat down holding her in his lap and looked at her taking one thumb to wipe the tears that started to fall from her brown eyes.

"Let's give them a minute," Erza said motioning everyone out the room.

Once they left Lucy stared back up at Natsu, "don't send me away..." she pleaded. "I won't let you fight alone...I deserve to be there.. I need to be there."

"I know. You have all the right to want to put this guy down.. what he did to you, is unforgivable but you can't stay standing Lucy, how would you fight? How could I fight knowing you could be taken.. again.. Besides, I won't be alone, I have Erza and Jellal" he replied looking in her eyes his toothy grin showing. Brushing some stray hairs from her face, she looked up at him again as tears falling freely. "I'd feel better if I went with you, I can help, I have my spirits. I can walk, Wendy said one more session on my leg should do the trick. Then I can-"

"Lucy, it's safest for you to go back to the guild. Levy must be worried sick, master can watch over you with Cana and Guildarts. You won't be alone. You WILL be safe." He said sighing heavily as he closed his eyes placing his forehead to hers and breathed in deep. The familiar vanilla scent that he had come to cherish made its way into his nose. It comforted him. To be honest he didn't want to be separated from her either, he could protect her. He knew that, but for once Natsu wanted to use his head and make the choice that was best for her. He loved her. Her safety was all that mattered.

"I feel safest with you..." Lucy leaned forward, wrapping her arms around him and nuzzling into his neck.

"I know" he said rubbing her back.

"We will let Wendy try again and if there is improvement you can stay, if you are still unable to walk, you will go back. No discussion if Wendy says no." He said.

"Fine..." she agreed reluctant.

"Wendy!" Natsu said loud, "take Lucy to our room and work on her leg some more. Report back when you've finished. If she can walk and you think she will be alright, she can stay.. with me" he said looking back to Lucy grinning slightly. "I don't want to send you away. I do this because.. well because..."

"Okay! Lucy go with Wendy. Gray, Juvia prepare to leave. Once Wendy is done with Lucy you all will depart for Magnolia. Natsu wait for Lucy while Jellal and I will head south. Remember the render is ruthless. Do not engage without us present." Erza ordered.

"Hai hai... 7th master" Natsu said chuckling knowing she hates that.

"Natsu... hurry up. We need to get this done, every minute the Soul Render has is more danger added for us. If he has time to prepare I don't know what he will do." Jellal said. "Let's go Erza. Stay with me."

"Always" she said following him out.

Lucy POV

"Lucy, I don't think it's wise for you to stay..." Wendy said. She had just finished working on My leg and although I could walk I still was wobbly and unable to maintain my balance.

"I won't leave him Wendy... I won't leave him here." Lucy said. "Look what the guy did to me and he was only a splice. I can help Natsu, I know it."

"I'm sorry, I agree with Natsu-San on this... I will return shortly and we will leave with Gray and Juvia." Wendy said looking at me sad.

Fine...

"Open, Gate of the Twins, Gemini"

Ding dong!

"Copy me, and go with Wendy..." I ordered.

DING DONG!

"This isn't wise Lucy..." Loki said.

"I didn't call you Loki" I said, "I won't leave him here."

"He has Erza and Jellal. He will be fine"

"I don't feel like that will be the case. I almost lost him once. I won't do it again. I WILL be going with them. Please just help me Loki." I begged.

"Fine...I will help you hide." Loki said frowning.

"Thank you" I said.

The following day, Wendy, Juvia, and Gray all boarded the ship back for Magnolia. I had stayed in our room with Natsu until it was just about dawn. Swapping places with Gemini. Natsu had seen the Gemini version of myself get on the boat, and go with Wendy, Gray and Juvia. Now all I had to do was wait until the boat was gone to close Gemini's gate. Hiding wasn't going to be easy especially since Natsu could smell me a mile away. I'd have to wait until the precise moment to show myself while he was fighting to help. However... its risky enough thinking he might know I'm still here now. I don't know how Gemini fooled Wendy seeing as they do not smell like me but regardless it worked and for now I'll just wait.

"She's gone then?" Natsu asked looking at Erza.

"Yes, Wendy confirmed, her leg was only slightly better, you made the right choice Natsu." Erza said, "her fighting would have put her in more danger and you as well".

"Did you tell her how you feel?" Jellal asked, "before she left that is?"

"No, I'm still trying to put it in to words. I know what I feel with her is more than just Nakama, partners, and guildmates. Honestly.. she fees like she is mine. I don't know how to explain it exactly. Igneel mentioned it growing up. I guess part of their dragon seed cause some tendencies to form. Dragons mate for life, while we don't have the mating urge or seasons, we still can feel a strong connection with one person. I used to think he was just making that up, but I don't know. She feels like.. home," he sighed, "What am I saying. Let's go. I've got some Render ass to kick."

Tears swelled in my eyes.. he loves me...

"Open Gate of the Maiden! Virgo!"

"Yes hime, is it time for punishment?" Virgo asked.

"Help me follow them." I asked. Virgo picked me up and we sprinted into the woods. After hours of following I had to release Virgo and go on foot. I needed to conserve what magic I had. "Gemini. Virgo. Close". I said, "That should have been long enough, although I'm sure they will notice immediately."

Ring Ring Ring!

"Hello?" A voice said in the distance.

"She... WHAT?! Gemini?" I heard Erza say.

Natsu's face dropped.

"Natsu she is still on the island..." Jellal said.

"You two go ahead. I will look for Luc- Wait..." he smelled the air.

He knowns I'm here.

"He is here...I can smell him." Natsu said in a growl.

Suddenly I felt Tentacles at my ankles... "Well well.. Hello lovely Lucy.." the same voice that gave me chills in the cellar was now right in my ear. His hot breath crawling over me creating goose pimples as it slowly crept across the surface of my cheek. I flung my arm out to strike him.

"Lucy is here too.. I can smell her" Natsu said horrified. "Fire Dragon ROAR!" he shouted, burning the forestry between revealing me and the true render. "Let her go... or did the last time I said not to touch what was mine not sink in.."

Last time?...

"You know.. I thought you were truly married, then when I let Jirmia have her.. he determined she hadn't been taken. Boy that sparked a fire in him then. He really wanted to fuck her into next week. But seeing as I am a kind man, I decided to make him earn it. I'm kind right Lulu-chan? You always said that when we were kids " the man said as his tentacles slowly snaked up my legs and locked around my thighs.
