Chapter 8: Maddie and luffy chats with the Narrator's
it was break time and some of the students was in a study lounge as luffy was sitting in a couch looking bored
raven saw it as she asked apple "hey whats with luffy is he tired?"
"hmm i dont know maybe he's hungry" apple replied as she went to luffy
"luffy whats wrong" she asked "is something bothering you"
Luffy just shook his head " bored got nothing to do"
just then Maddie pops out of nowhere and Said "why's luffy all gloomy how about we turn that frown upside down"
maddie pondered for a moment and then got a hint "wait a butter i have a wondrous idea why dont we have a talk with the Narrator's"
"Oh no" said FM narrator
"wait you mean the voice you mentioned back at the teashoppe" said luffy
"mm-hmm" maddie nods "and you can hear them which is Hat-tastic"
"Hey voices can you hear me?" luffy asked looking up at the ceiling so did maddie
"Brook don't say a word we already have maddie and we do not want another" said MN to her daughter
Ohhh i can't take it anymore this is my Chance and im going to take it HI LUFFY!"
"hahaha hi hows it going" luffy smiled
"well nothing much just here and there narrating oh my name is brook, Brook page"
"nice to meet ya brook you know i have a crew member who's name is Also brook he's a skeleton and a musician"
"what no way a skeleton"
luffy nods and said "yep"
"aww its so wondrous to see my two friends getting along" maddie said getting in the conversation
"brook we are not meant to be interacting with the characters of the story we are supposed to be narrating the story" her mom scolded
"Hexcuse me narrator why dont you put a teabag on it and let brook do this its the best way for her to make new friends dont you want that" maddie pouts
"yeah dont be stingy" luffy added
"well i suppose we could" FM admitted
"just try not to ask unnecessary questions brook" her dad said
"dont worry dad i wont, luffy whats it like bieng a pirate"
"ooh ooh i want to know too" maddie asked in interest and sat down
"well if your a pirate you can do whatever you want, you can go on adventures with your Nakama's"
"Wow that sounds so hexciting but quick question whats a nakama?'
"it means friends" luffy smiled
"well you are now my nakama" said maddie
"luffy can you tell us one of your adventures"
"ooh i know i know how about you tell us how you turn into Rubber" maddie asked while holding Luffy's cheek
"oh yeah that id like to know"
"that sounds a hexcellent idea maddie" said apple
"we got time" raven added
"oh goodie this is going to be Hat-tastic i can feel it" said maddie in delight as they all sat down to listen
"hehe ok lets see" luffy began
Fusha village - East blue
we open up on a peaceful small village at the port a pirate ship was docked and a little boy named monkey d luffy was holding a knife on top of the ships head
"Hey luffy what are you doing up there?"
"Im serious im so pissed and im going to prove it to you" luffy said at the deck of the ship a man with the strawhat just laughed
"hahaha yeah do it "he said "i dont know what your gonna do though"
"uffy then Peirce a knife in his Cheek as the crew of the ship gasps
"OUCH! IT HURTS!"
"You idiot just what do you think your doing!"
"wait a spell you actually did that" said raven intruding the stor
"Yep" Luffy replied and showing his scar
"and what happens next?" brook asked
"well"
we now find ourselves in a bar were the pirates drank and eating foods
luffy had a bandage in his cheek trying his best not to cry and said
"oh it didn't hurt at all"
"thats a lie don't do such a stupid thing like that" said the man in a strawhat next to luffy
"its not a lie!" luffy snaps
"and im not scared of getting hurt!"
"take me on your next voyage i wanna be a pirate too shanks"
"eh hahaha as if you could ever be a pirate luffy" shank teased "its a fatal flaw for a pirate to be an anchor"
luffy then got up on top of his seat "I'll be fine as long as i don't fall out of the ship!"
"and im good at fighting too!, im well trained so my punches are like pistols" luffy said whole putting his fist
"pistols huh oh really" shanks said in disbelief"
what's that mean!"
"oy luffy" the rest of the crew called out
"your such in a bad mood"
"have fun whatever your doing"
"yeah Bieng a pirate is fun!"
"the sea is broad and vast!"
"were traveling various islands!"
"and above all were Free!"
hearing that made Luffy smiled wide in admiration
"Hey guys dont teach him such silly stuff" shanks adviced
"but its true riight"
"hey captain why not take him on just one voyage" one of the crew said
"then someone trade places with him" shanks replied
"okay were done talking"
"lets have another drink"
"didn't you side with me?!" luffy shouts
"in short you're too much for that" shanks explained "I'll consider it when your 10 year's older"
"stupid shanks im not a kid!"
"now now dont get so mad" he said grabbing a juice "here have some juice"
luffy gladly accepted "thanks shanks"
"see you are a kid Ha!"
"hey thats not fair shanks!"
"luffy" said the first mate of the ship who was smoking "you gotta try to understand how the captain feels"
"first mate?"
"there's no denying that hes the captain of a pirate group, he knows how tough and dangerous being a pirate is more than anybody" he explains"dont you see its not like he wants to break your spirit"
"no i don't shanks just making fun of me"
"anchor"shanks teased while eating
"See!"
"So this shanks use to wear your strawhat?" asked apple
"it actually belonged to him but he gave it to me" luffy replied
"and what happens next luffy are close on finding out on how you became rubber?" blondie asked while recording on her mirror tablet
"that im about to tell you"
the bar doors suddenly got knocked down making everyone at the bar stop and looked at them a bunch of bandits came in one of them got in a man tan-skinned man with black hair and He wore a long red coat over a white shirt
"so these are pirates?" he said walking in"look pretty damn dumb"
"oh welcome" said makino the bar tender
"were mountain Bandits but were not here to trash up the place"
"so sell us some booze ten oughta do" he ordered "im sorry but we ran out of booze" said makino which made the bandit look unsatisfied with that
"thats odd then what are these pirates drinking water?" he asked
Raven: whats with pirates and booze?
"no they're drinking is the last of the booze" makino replied shanks then spoke up to try to ease the situation of what's going to happen
"my apologies, but it looks like we drank the whole place dry"
"sorry" shanks then got him a bottle "you can have this if you like it hasn't been open yet"
the bandit was going to grab it but he just smashed it with his fist which cause makino to gasp along with luffy
"you know there's an eight million bounties on my head, and giving me one bottle ain't gonna be enough to drink dont insult me!"
Maddie: what a big meanie!
Brook: the nerve of that guy
shanks was just calmed at that and he focused on the mess
"now the floors all wet, sorry about that makino san I'll just clean this up do you have any rag" he said picking up the broken glass
"oh no that's ok shanks I'll clean it up myself" makino insist just then the bandit got his sword and slices up the plates and food making more messes
"so you like cleaning huh? maybe this will fulfill you, waste of our time is they dont have booze let's go"
he said and the rest of his men left, luffy did not like what he just saw he was getting pissed it was now quite makino went over to shanks to help him "are you alright captain are you hurt?"
"oh im fine not a problem" shanks assured her and he snickered as the his whole crew broke out in laughter
"he got you good boss!"
"talk about lame!
hahaha!"shanks joined in and suddenly
"Why are you all laughing!!" luffy shouted as everyone gone silent
"why didn't you fight them shanks, it doesn't matter how many of they are or how strong they look your not a man if you laugh after something like that!"
"i understand how you feel luffy he just spilled me with some booze its not something to get mad over" shanks told luffy and he has a point
"Whatever!" luffy just turned away from him and his eyes traveled to an open chess and inside was a purple fruit
Maddie: its the debby fruit isn't it
luffy: its devil fruit maddie
Maddie: ohhh
*Munch*
"hehe dont eat out of frustration luffy its not good" shanks warned Luffy
"Shut up!"
shanks looked at what luffy was eating and his eye widened and got up
"Hey what are you eating!!" luffy instantly swallowed
"the chess did you eat what was in it tell me you didn't!"
"y-yeah i did" shanks then grabbed luffys shoulder and put him upside down
"spit it out every last bit of it" he said while shaking luffy
"H-hey stop it shanks what are you doing!?"
*Booing*
Luffy's leg suddenly stretches and his head
"what was that?" he asked
"luffy what you ate was the Gum-gum fruit Also known as a devil fruit your whole body will be turn to rubber!" he yelled "and it will take away your ability to swim for the rest of your life!"
"EH NO WAY!!"
"YOU DUMBASS!!"
"and that's how i turn to rubber and how i ate a devil fruit" luffy ended the story as the whole fairytale in the room whoas
"at least it didn't put you to sleep luffy" said said raven and thought of the poison apple "who knew a fruit like that exists"
"takes away your ability to swim thats worse than getting asleep" apple admits
"wait a scootle what happens next?" asked maddie
"Yeah you haven't told us how you got that straw hat" brook added
"well after that those bandits came back and making fun of shanks and his crew so i defended them" Luffy told them
"he never learns does he" maddie pouts
"yeah and then he kidnapped me" that cause the fairytale's to gasps
the bandit was holding luffy as a hostage with his foot the mayor of the town tried to reason with him in order to save luffy but he still wanna beat the crap out of Luckily shanks and his crew got there in time
"pirate? your still here" the bandit said looking at shanks
"are you cleaning up the village?"
"luffy" shanks called out "isn't your punch are like pistol's you mentioned Earlier"
"shut up!" said luffy while pinned down"i dont know what your here for, but if i were you I'd start high tailing it out of here"
he warned
"if you move one more step I'll blow your head off Coward!"
while Shanks kept moving forward a gun was pointed at him
"he said not one more step" one of his men said while pointing his gun at shanks the bandits then snickers maniacally as luffy was getting scared shanks just smiled and said to the bandit
"your risking your life on it"
"what?"
"with that pistol of yours"
"what the hell are you talking about"
"im saying this isn't a childs game" shanks respond and put his finger in the gun
*click* *BANG*
just then the bandit suddenly got shot by one of shanks crew he was fat and still eating a chicken leg
the bandit luffy makino and the mayor got shocked at the sight that made the rest of the bandit pissed off
"y-you you killed him!"
"what unfair bastards"
"unfair?" one of the crew said
"dont be naive" said the first mate "your not fighting against a saint"
"what your up against are Pirates" shanks added one of the bandits then said
"shut up we don't have any business with you"
"Listen up bandits" shanks said and got their attention "whether im splattered in alcohol or food or even spat on me i just laughed it off and forget about it"
"however" he then said in an angry tone "no matter what the reason may be, if anyone hurts my friends has to Pay!"
"shanks" luffy said in shock the bandit just laughed at that
"has to pay Huh? pirate scum Get em men!"
the bandit then charges at shanks and his first mate stepped up
"im gonna take care of all of them" he took his Gun and swung at the charging bandits and easily beat them all up
"if you want to pick a fight with us why dont you drag a warship or something" he said pointing his gun at the leader luffy was in awe "So strong"
"Hey w-wait a minute" the bandit stuttered "this kid started it all"
"your a wanted man anyway" shanks said coldly the bandit didn't know what to do now and he was about to run but he got a smoke bomb and disappeared along with luffy
"Luffy! oh no i let my guard down!" shanks said in concerned
luffy and the bandit was now on a boat in the middle of the sea
"let me go you stupid monkey i hope you die" luffy shouted
" you stupid brat your the one who's going to die, you really pissed me off"
"bye bye" he drops luffy in the water
"damn it" luffy was trying his best to float but he couldn't he was drowning
"your useless to me now brat hahaha" the bandit laugh when suddenly a giant sea monster came up behind him
"what the hell is this?!" the giant sea monster ate him whole
"someone help!!" screamed luffy struggling to have air the sea monster then dives down underwater and swam directly at Luffy he was about to eat him until out of nowhere shanks came and holds luffy close to him
"shanks"
shanks gave the sea monster a single glare and said "Get lost" and like that the monster got scared and swam away
"im in your Dept luffy" he said "makino told me everything"
luffy was crying and buried his face on shanks holding him tight
"hey dont cry your a man"
"But s-shanks your arm!"shanks left arm was cut off and it was bleeding
"luffy its just an arm i have another one, im just glad your ok"
luffy let out his cry feeling bad for his friend of loosing his arm
after the whole incident that occurs earlier luffy and shanks made it back safely Back but it was time for shanks to leave on his voyage to the vast open sea
"you're really not coming back to this village" the Mayor asked
"thats right" shanks replied "we've been here too long already, thanks for everything"
"your upset aren't you luffy" said makino to luffy
"Yeah" he said "but i wont ask you to take me along anymore cause I'll become a pirate with my own strength"
"i won't take you along even if you begged" said shanks as he stuck his tongue out
"you don't have what it takes to be a pirate"
"Yes i do!" luffy shouts "I'll gather my own crew that will beat yours and we'll find the worlds greatest treasure, and no matter what i will become the Pirate king!"
"oh your going to surpass us?" shanks said and walks up to luffy and took off his strawhat "in that case"
he puts his hat on luffy "I'll leave this hat with you, its very important to me"
luffy then cries to have such an important thing to leave
"Give it back to me someday, when you've become a great pirate"
"The end" Luffy said and the whole room seemed to enjoyed Luffy's story
"wow" said blondie "and i even got it in recording"
"this shanks sounds such a guy" said raven as apple nods in agreement
maddie gave Luffy a warm hug "poor luffy im sorry you had a rough past"
"thats the most awesome story I've ever heard so much action especially when shanks said about hurting his friends ooh" brook admire
"hehe yeah shanks an awesome pirate" luffy smiled
"so Luffy how many crews do you have besides mr zoro and sanji miss robin and chopper who else" raven asked
"well i have eight in total the others are nami our navigator usopp our sniper franky the shipwright and lastly brook"
"the musician right Luffy"
"yep and if you want to meet him he's going to ask you for your panties"
"hehe yeah wait what"
"Oh my tea and cracker's its almost time for mr jack b nimble's class" said maddie checking her pocket watch as the other Students got up and went
"okay so whats his class about?" luffy asked
"oh its about telling stories" raven replied
"i got a crew who's good at telling stories its usopp"
"I sure can't wait to meet your whole crew Luffy hey why dont you tell us another story in class" maddie offered which luffy nodded
"sure okay" he smiled
"yay yay yay" said maddie jumping up and down as they all made thier way to class
