Chapter 13: Meeshell comes out of her Shell
in the schools castleteria Maddie was showing Ashlyn briar and Luffy her Hat
"ooh im gonna Knock everyone's slippers off at the talent show next chapter day" maddie said then pulled a large tray of teacups from her hat, luffy of course was amazed
"whoa" he said
"Uh huh" said Ashlyn looking up
"neat" briar then looks at someone "hey here comes that new girl Meeshell, i heard she's shy" they look at a girl with pink hair with whitish-pink highlights in it, and wears a sea like dress she was looking rather shy while holding her tray of foods
"we should invite her over to come sit with us"
"hey Meeshell" Ashlyn called out as she made her way towards the four
"its nice to meet you" she said shyly
"im maddie and this is luffy" maddie introduced luffy and he smiled
"oi oi why look so shy" luffy then got two forks and puts in his mouth making a funny face "there's nothing to be shy about yosh yosh" the girls broke out in laughter at Luffy's little performance
meeshell almost couldn't help herself when her eyes traveled at someone who was looking at her
he has the physique of a swimmer near-shoulder-length, straight, somewhat greasy black hair that sometimes falls over his left eye. His eyes are a murky, dull shade of green. Four long, black tentacles sprout from his back he was giving meeshell a cold look
"u-um i h-have to go now" without an explanation meeshell took off leaving the four with a clueless look
"but I haven't shown her my magic trick" maddie's large tray of teacups fell and made a mess "whoopsie"
"why did she just leave like that?" luffy questions
"well i did say she's shy luffy" briar reminded
luffy then turns and looked at the same person meeshell looked "hey who's that guy?"
briar maddie Ashlyn all looked at the same time as briar said
"thats Otto sea witch, Son of the sea witch he came just a few weeks ago"
"he's always dark and gloomy no one would ever after wants to talk to him ive tried before" said maddie and looked at otto who was eating all alone not even one smile appear on his face
luffy looks at otto with a suspicious look on his face he did not like the looks of him not one little bit
"come on we better clean this up" said Ashlyn
luffy thought of something to get away "um i think i heard zoro calling me gotta go" like that luffy disappeared leaving briar Ashlyn and maddie
"how did he?" briar asked
"*giggles* that's luffy for you he's so Madly Hat-tastic" maddie said before they began to clean up
luffy was now alone in the hallways strolling since his crew were busy doing something else they didn't have time zoro was with darling, sanji was with ginger in kitchen making sweets and healthy foods for the students, chopper was with baba yaga conjuring some magic and even learning new medicine for his study
as for robin she was at the library reading tons of books, the evil stepsister's didn't mind at all although when they hissed at a student who can't keep quiet Robin's got em covered
luffy kept walking and then heard something in the schools indoor pool room he went to check on it and saw meeshell and Otto but something was up he overheard their conversation
"why must you keep rejecting our faith meeshell"
"im very sorry otto ive already told you i just can't"
"and why's that?"
"because"
"yes? tell me"
"its because your just not my type" she said and the room was quite the next thing otto could say was
"What?" that felt like a kick in the face for him
"WHAAAT!?" he clenched his fist in anger the tentacles in his back began to appear
"Why you, you trampled my feelings for a long time now if im not your type then who is huh!?"
meeshell was too scared to even answer
luffy wasn't just going to stand there watching any longer
"Fine, if you won't accept my feelings then I'll make sure no one will" he said as one of his tentacles ready to Strangle her "Have it your-"
"Hey!!" the two looked at the source walking up was luffy and he was not happy
"and who are you?" questions Otto with a raised eyebrow
"Im Monkey D Luffy and im a pirate"
"a pirate?" otto snickered "they let pirates like you go to this school what were they thinking"
"i dont give a damn if they even let me here or not, and dont like the way you were talking to her"
"That's none of your business, besides a someone like you wouldn't get it meeshell will soon be mine in time"
"she already said she's not interested Why dont you Just beat it" that only made otto angry he used his tentacle to try to grab luffy but he instantly disappeared
"what the!?"
luffy reappears next to him and sending him a punch in the face otto closed his eyes but nothing happened he slowly Opens them a fist only an inch away from his face meeshell was shocked at what she just saw
"im gonna ask you one more time Beat it"
otto sweat dropped at that he just scoffs and walks away
"this isn't over" he said before going outside
"hey you alright" Luffy asked meeshell as she just swam a little bit back
"its ok meeshell im not going to hurt ya" this time luffy said with a smile and with that meeshell could trust him
"t-thank you luffy for helping me" she said shyly not even looking at him
"shishishi no problem just glad i could help, by the way what are you doing in the water?"
"oh well as you can see luffy im actually" meeshell raised her fin showing it to luffy his mouth was drop to the ground
"your a mermaid!??"
"yes i am" she smiled sweetly
"WOW hey i have a question can you mermaids poop"
"um yes but through the vents on our tail" she answered even though that was an unnecessary question to ask
"oh ok, you know me and my crew were supposed to set sail to fishman Island to visit the mermaids but we got stuck here"

"oh i see I'm sorry that happened to you luffy"
"eh its fine hey i have a fishman friend i met him two years ago"

"i got him out of there, after we got out we went to save my brother in a war but in the end he died"
"oh I'm so sorry luffy" meeshell said
"its ok" luffy smiled "i got through it cause i still have something thats very important to me"

"anyway what about you" luffy asked while sitting next to her "why'd you ran away before"
"well its because this is my first time in dry land, and my legs turns back into my fin when i touch water and i im just not confident making new friends when im on land" she replied with a sad look
"well how about you and i be Friends" luffy asked as the mermaid blinked
"r-really luffy" meeshell asked in disbelief as luffy chuckles
"of course i like making new friends" luffy smiled
"thank you luffy"
"no prob so what do you do besides just swimming" luffy asked
"i can sing but only when no ones around"
"well no ones here but us maybe you can sing me one, its okay to be shy sometimes you just gotta be brave"
"um well i do have one my mother always sing it to me before i sleep"
"ooh i wanna hear it" luffy then lays down meeshell giggles at that

meeshell finished as luffy clapped and gave a little whistle
"that was amazing!" he said with star's in his eyes meeshell giggles even taking a bow
until they hear gasps they turned around and saw Maddie Ashlyn and Briar with their mouths dropped
"Meeshell is a mermaid" said Ashlyn
"Oh hey and sorry i ran away before" meeshell said swimming up to them
"i told you how could anybody not like my hat" said maddie fixing her hat
"Hi luffy i didn't know you were here" said briar which luffy smiled
"meeshell your voice is so Fairest" Ashlyn praises "you should totally sing at the talent show"
"Infront of everybody, on legs, i-i can't do it" meeshell said
"what're you talking about of course you can" luffy supported "you did sang for me just now"
"but that was different luffy" she said shyly
"everyone would flip their crown if they heard you sing" said briar but meeshell just wast sure about that
"im sorry, but I can't do it if im not in water"
just then maddie got an idea "ooh ooh i just got an idea but were going to need a lot of water and a really big cup"
at first no one knew what maddie was thinking but they still got her what she needed
after that luffy asked zoro and sanji for help as soon as luffy mentioned meeshell and told them that she was a mermaid sanji instantly nosebleeded like crazy chopper of course stood by his side and told him to control his nose bleeding it must be since he's been at new kama island for two years as sanji recovered he suddenly got mad at luffy cause he wasn't the one who met her first
soon every student was at the charmitorium for the talent show meeshell still was afraid of singing in public Luffy was there to motivate her
"your up next meeshell" maddie told her behind the curtain then got back in the stage and she was getting stage fright
"oh I can't do this luffy im shaking"
"hey its gonna be alright, remember you just gotta be brave if you want to sing then just sing" luffy smiled "besides if anyone messes with you I'll take care of it"
"thank you luffy, and I'll do my best" she then got inside a big cup full of water and some coral inside her legs turned to fin
behind the curtains Maddie gave the announcement
"and now damsel's and gentlemen a fairy special singing performance i now present to you Meeshell Mermaid"
everyone gave a round of applause as the curtain lit up showing meeshell in her mermaid form everyone was in awe as meeshell took and deeo breath and started to sing

meeshell finished the last lyric of the song as the crowd cheered behind the curtains luffy gave meeshell a whistle sanji couldn't help but stand up and cheer for her along with chopper as for zoro he just napped at his seat
meeshell waved at the crowd maddie came up at the big cup and then said
"damsel's and gentlemen prepare to be spellbound and behold the biggest tea ever after" maddie then puts two tea bag slowly spreading tea liquid
"You know what this might take a while, how about an encore from meeshell while we wait" maddie suggested
meeshell was about to do so until something grabbed a hold of her covering her mouth earnings gasps from the crowd it was otto
"hahaha quite the performance meeshell, but i told you before if you won't accept my feelings i will make sure no one will"
meeshell tried getting herself free but it was too tight as she began to cry
"Put her down now Otto!" briar demanded standing up along with Ashlynn
"you leave her alone"
"Ha! sorry but no she has rejected me for the last time" he grinned

otto turned around and when he did he felt a hard Punch in his face making him let go of meeshell and knocking him out
everyone saw it and it was Luffy as he cracks his knuckles "geez that guy again sure hope I didn't kill him" luffy turned his attention to meeshell and helped her up
sanji and chopper came up to the stage in concern
"meeshell chan are you okay" sanji asked worried
"i might have to check her up" said chopper
meeshell then hugged luffy while crying
"L-luffy! i was so scared waaah!"
sanji was getting jealous at luffy as he got on the floor while banging with his
"Damn you luffy if only id kicked that jerk first" luffy just chuckled
"shishishi"
everyone was relief meeshell was saved Ashlyn and briar went over to check on they're friend
as for otto he was escorted to the Headmaster's office by Zoro things are not looking good for him
