A Secret Pop Star Hero.
Being a hero often comes with fame. But not all heroes becomes famous because of heroic acts. In some cases, people don't even know the famous person is a hero. And that brings us to Ahri, a Kpop star. She started out as a simple teenage pop star, but Ahri worked hard to become more than just that. As he fame grew, she decided she needed to change her style, or else her fans might tire of her.
So she tossed aside her girly and young look to reveal her new self: a high fashion, elegant, and stunning 24 year old celebrity. Ahri's sleek new look attracts top fashion designers, all eager to design new outfits for her... But she always turns down the ones who wants her to wear revealing clothing, since she want to be famous for her talents and personality, not for her sex appeal. During fashion week, Ahri graces runways around the world in finale gowns. She is the face of FOXY cosmetics and launched her own fragrance, Charmed last year. When she isn't practicing for her next concert or training in self defense classes, Ahri enjoys shopping, drinking tea with friends, and testing out new beauty products. Which she admits, not all products are good for her. And as for her ears? Some believe they are real, and some think they are fake. Ahri never bothered revealing the truth about them.
Ahri yawns as she entered her apartment after another concert, they could be exhausting sometimes, but worth it in the end. She was getting ready for her night routine, a nice hot bath, reading some magazines, maybe have a little snack, and then sleep until after noon. She soon exited her bathroom wearing a lose robe, and nothing else. She hummed one of her songs until she noticed something on her computer, turns out it was a small alarm that the Gwishin, a faction of omnics that have emerged from an omnium in the East China Sea, were now back. Which was strange, since they were beaten back not that long ago.
Ahri sat down on her chair in front of her screen and noticed a certain someone was already on her way to stop them, making Ahri smile "Hello sis, out playing super hero again?".
The one fighting the Omnics were non other than, Hana Song. A former professional gamer who now uses her skills to pilot a state-of-the-art mech in defense of her homeland. She is a very competitive individual, and coupled with her pro-gamer skills, this makes her an extremely effective mech pilot. Never backing down, Hana always plays to win. While she projects a carefree, irreverent attitude, Hana is burdened by the emotional cost of defending her homeland, and the facade the South Korean media projects on her.
While the country may see Hana as a hero, Ahri sees someone else. She sees her little sister. This is a rather unknown knowledge since neither Ahri or Hana likes talking about their personal lives during interviews. But yes, two of the most famous people in Korea were indeed sisters. Growing up, Ahri and Hana's relationship was decent, but they weren't super close due to them having completely different goals in life. Ahri wanted to be a music star and Hana wanted to be a pro-gamer. Different life goals that would ultimately make the sisters go down different paths. But despite that, Ahri enjoyed keeping an eye on Hana when she could. Which is why she had some connections that allowed her to eves drop on Hana's missions.
"Oh little sister, you sure love shooting things" Ahri mused to herself as put her feet up on her desk as she watched her sister at work "There goes one... and there goes one. At this rate she should be done in... wait they are splitting up? Well that's going to make the job take longer".
Ahri kept on watching the battle, she even removed her feet from her desk to look closer as the battle was starting to turn against Hana... she was struggling, and without back up she might not be able to defeat them. Ahri's eyes became wide when she saw Hana jump out of her mech and shoot it's core, causing it to explode, destroying the Gwishin, but also sending Hana crashing in to the water. Falling in to water at such height and speed would be like falling against solid bricks.
"Hana!" Ahri stood up, knocking over her chair as she did. She then threw of her robe before rushing to get dressed in the only thing she could put on quickly. Her Pop star outfit.
Ahri rushed outside where she jumped on the motorcycle she bought last week and speeds of towards where Hana's battle took place. Different goals or not, Ahri was not about to let Hana drown in the dark waters and she refused to sit by and let the rescue team handle it. Sure, logically they had the better chance of finding and saving Hana than Ahri did. But Ahri wasn't much of a believer in logic. She must have broken a every speed limit before she finally reached the water. She got of her bike and rushed the rest of the way so she could begin her search.
But before she could, something climbed out of the water. Humanoid Gwishin, something that hadn't been seen before, since the Gwishin normally relied on large battle units. They had adapted, they used the sky troops as a distraction to allow their ground force could sneak in right from underneath their noses. Ahri backed up a step as the machines approached her with their arm blades ready. She had seen them, which makes her a threat.
"Get out of my way!" Ahri growled as she suddenly revealed something about her outfit.
It posses the ability to make small constructs of solid light, now people can wonder how light can be solid, but that's the magic of technology for you. She used it to activate her nine tails, something she used to make herself look fancy during her concerts. But while it may look like nothing but special effects. Truth is, if she hits anyone with it, then it will hurt, a lot. In a way, one could say they are weaponized force fields, while also using some technology of the shields used by the German Crusaders.
"You will not keep me from my sister! Damn machines!" Ahri shouts as she suddenly raised her hand and fired of a blast that hit a robot right in the face, showing how hard solid light can be.
The Gwishin charged at her and she got ready to fight them. Ahri sends the first Gwishin slamming into a crate on their left with heir tails, before she executes a capoeira-style meia lua de compasso kick as she hits the second Gwishin before turning one of her tails sharp and slices it in half at the waist. Using the momentum to spin in the air, she decapitates a third Gwishin while slashing the fourth and fifth androids once she lands back onto the ground.
Yeah Ahri's outfit was more than just for show. She made sure it was designed in a way that she could use it to defend herself since everyone knows celebrities always has some people that wants to hurt them. And Ahri decided to practice Capoeira, since she is a dancer as well as an singer, so the fighting style suited her well. As shown when she dodged under a Gwishin's blade, only to flip and dance around it, using her tails to lift it up and throwing it in to another Gwishin. This caused the rest to switch to Gatling guns and fired at Ahri.
She used her tails to block the bullets, but one of her tails where overheated and broke, forcing Ahri to take cover. She then looked up to see a crate hanging right above the firing Gwishin. Being care to avoid being shot, Ahri sent a blast that hit the line holding the crate up, causing it to fall and crush the Gwishin under it.
Making sure it was all of them, Ahri rushed over to the water and looked around. The battle was short, but still wasted precious seconds. She then noticed something floating in the water... no, not something, Someone. She gasped as she realized who it was. And with no hesitation, Ahri dives in to the water and began swimming quickly towards the person.
"Hana!" Ahri called out as she reached her unconscious sister and quickly grabbed her "Hold on sis! Big sister is here, I got you!".
Ahri proceeded to pull Hana towards the shoreline. Pulling Hana out of the water, Ahri noticed she wasn't breathing. Panicking, Ahri had to think of something quickly. And she had no other choice but to give her mouth to mouth. She began to blow in to Hana's mouth. She did it several times until Hana finally began coughing up water and finally began to breath again. She was alive.
"Thank goodness... I made it in time" Ahri said in relief as she rubbed Hana's cheek "I got you sis".
"Hey over there!" Came a voice, and Ahri knew it must be Hana's co workers.
Several medics ran up and checked on Hana, but Ahri was nowhere to be seen. As The medics began to carry Hana away, Ahri was revealed to be hiding behind a crate. She was relived knowing that her sister would be safe now.
Not long after the attacks, the news were on as a Reporter spoke "The city is still in shock after the recent surprise attack. Incredibly, thanks to D. Va, no one was injured. She stopped the Gwishin single-handedly and authorities confirm she emerged without a scratch. And remains of new Gwishin was located near the docks, meaning DVa even stopped another sneak attack. She's currently enjoying some time off to celebrate her victory. In other news...".
Ahri turned of the TV with an annoyed sigh "If you call almost drowning and suffering broken bones as not a scratch. I swear one day I am going to walk in to that news room and punch those lying-" Ahri was cut of when she noticed someone was trying to contact her on her computer. She was confused as only a hand full of people knew how to contact her like that, but regardless she answered "Hello?".
"Hello sis!" Hana said as she appeared on the screen, wearing casts on her arm and leg "Nice robe, but you should try wearing more if you are going to chat with people like this".
Ahri had a slight blush but smiled "Whatever you say sis. Glad to see you are doing better. But dosen't most people with broken bones normally try to rest?".
Hana giggled a little "Sis, neither of us are like most people".
Ahri chuckled "No, we are not. So what do I owe the pleasure of speaking to you after so long?".
"Because I feel like a hero deserves some praise" Hana answered.
"Don't you get enough praise from your fans?" Ahri asked.
"I meant you, Ahri. I know it was you who saved me from dying out there. I could hear your voice when you saved my life. And I know you handled those Gwishin troops on the ground. They would've slipped right passed us if not for you. And now, thanks to you, they are upgrading the sensors to detect hidden enemies" Hana said.
"I was only there to save you, those machines just happened to be in my way. If not for your dangerous stunt, I wouldn't even have been there" Ahri said, not sure she deserves praise for an accidental act of heroism.
"What matters is that you were there, Ahri. I don't care if everyone else sees you as just a pop star. To me, you are a hero. You are my hero" Hana said with a warm smile.
A tear ran down Ahri's face as she smiled back "Thank you Hana. I love you, little sister".
"I love you too, big sister... could we meet up at your place later? I feel like we have some catching up to do" Hana said.
"Of course, I will send over an invitation to you that will allow you to visit me" Ahri said, more than happy to let her sister come over.
Hana smiled "Thank you sis. See you soon".
Hana ended the chat, and Ahri smiled to herself. So her little sister sees her as her hero now? Well, Ahri can certainly get used to that. Maybe being a hero wasn't to bad after all.
.
I wasn't planing on making this chapter today, but thanks to the release of the new League of Legends cinematic, which was amazing by the way. I just had to write this. And yes, Ahri and Hana are sisters in this story, and Ahri has her KDA look. I was considering giving her the Arcane look, but figured it would be more interesting if the two sisters went down separate paths.
.
Tell me what you think.
