A Ripper On The Hunt.
Many already know about Reaper. Originally known as Gabriel Reyes, is a playable, he was now a mercenary who was originally a founding member of Overwatch before he defected from them and became one of the leaders of Talon's council. His identity and motives are a mystery to most, and only a few really knows the truth about him. What is known is that where he appears, death follows. But we are not here to see a reaper, we are here to see a ripper. This killer was even more mysterious than Reaper... and unlike Gabriel, this ripper was not a former hero.
At an unknown location, some armed men where unloading some boxes, full of illegal stuff. They were part of a powerful crime organisation, one that had no name, which helped making them harder to find. Their boss was a ruthless crime lord who had done many heinous acts, some of which are to horrific to even speak about. One of the thugs grunted as he put a heavy box down.
"I swear, our boss makes us unload by hand just to mess with us" He said in a tired tone.
"Watch your tongue Joel, or you will lose it" A female thug said.
"Yeah yeah I know Tess. So what's in these boxes anyway?" Joel asked.
"Guns, real state of the art. You can take out a small army with these babies" Tess answered.
Joel blinked at that "Why would he want so much fire power? Is a gang war on it's way?".
"No, no other gangs would be stupid enough to go to war with us. Even Overwatch would think twice about messing with us. The reason our boss has ordered more guns, it's because many of our cells has been taken out" Tess answered.
Joel was surprised. He knew they operated in cells, each knowing very little about the others. That way if one cell was taken down, it would't lead the heroes to any of the others, since you can't tell what you don't know. But if several cells had been taken down, then something must be up. Still what could've done it? Overwatch was forced to shut down, and any Overwatch activity had been deemed illegal. Not to mention Overwatch was the only true threat to the organisation, and they were gone now.
"You think Overwatch is back? Or are some of their old members just vigilantes now?" Joel asked.
Tess shook her head, she looked around for a bit before she spoke "I don't know the details, but I do know that non of the cells that were taken down had any survivors. Whoever took them down left no one alive to tell anyone what happened. And it happened fast, one moment, our boss was talking to the cell leader and the next moment, everything was silent. I've never seen the boss so scared before and he refuses to give any details on what happened. All he wants if for us to get better weapons and kill whoever has been attacking us".
"That sounds really creepy" Joel admitted.
Tess nodded in agreement "Which is why we need to kill whoever is responsible before-".
Before Tess could finish her sentence, the lights went out, startling the two thugs who looked around in confusion. The lights had been a little rough to maintain lately, but they recently installed a new power generator who just required minor maintenance to keep the lights on. Tess gave Joel a disapproving look, since it was his turn to make sure the generator was working properly tonight.
"Joel, didn't you already check the generator tonight?" Tess asked.
"I did! Sure it was tricky but I am sure I got it running perfectly" Joel said defensively.
"Knowing you, you must've missed some important details. Come on, let's get it back on" Tess said in annoyance as she walked of.
"I swear, it was working fine!" Joel insisted as he followed her.
As they headed towards the generator, fog began to appear... and it was growing thicker by each passing moment. Tess paid it no mind, but Joel was getting worried. Fog didn't normally appear so quickly, and it wasn't long before it became hard to see and Joel was starting to lose track of Tess. He suddenly stopped when he noticed something move in the corner of his eyes.
"Did you see that Tess... Tess? Did you hear me?" Joel asked but noticed Tess was gone "Tess? This isn't funny Tess! If this is your way of teaching me a lesson it's really dumb!".
He got no answer, so he raised his weapon and looked around. He couldn't see or hear anything, and this damn fog wasn't helping. But he could feel that something wasn't right and sometimes the fog to shift like someone was moving through it. Joel knew he wasn't alone, but every time he called out, no one answered. He then felt like someone was behind him... and that was the last thing he ever felt.
Back with Tess, she too had noticed that she was alone, something that annoyed her "This isn't the time for you stupid games Joel. Get back out here now!" She got no answer "Joel, I swear if you jump out to scare me again, I will kick you down and stomp on your balls!".
Again, she got no answer. Growling in annoyance, Tess began to search for her idiotic friend. She was definitely going to give him a ball stomp for this. But as she kept looking, not only couldn't she find Joel... she couldn't find any of the other guards. Now she was more confused than angry, and the fog was really annoying. She looked until she saw someone that looked like Joel. She was both relived and mad that she finally found him.
"There you are. Ok Asshole, it's time for a good kick to your-" Tess spoke as she walked up to Joel and pulled on his shoulder... only when he turned around, he was dead and hanging from a hook that had been stabbed through the back of his head and out of his mouth, making Tess step back in shock "What the hell!?".
The fog cleared a little and Tess' eyes became wide with terror as she saw all the other guards... all of them having been killed in several different ways. Some of them even worse than the method used to kill Joel. Tess fought back the urge to vomit as she took out her radio and was about to report to her boss... but before she could speak, a hand grabbed her neck and tossed her against a box. Tess looked up and saw a tall man, hidden by the fog, looking down at her with glowing eyes. He then took something out... it looked like a list.
He read it for a bit before he finally spoke "You're not on my list yet, keep it that way..." He was about to leave but then stopped "Oh, wait, my bad, I wrote it on the back".
Tess' screams echoed through the area. This alerted the guards near the main building. All of them quickly readied their weapon. They saw someone approach, and it looked like Tess. The guards looked confused why she would scream before suddenly showing up here.
"Tess? What the hell is going on? Why did you-" The guard was cut of when Tess' body fell to the ground... and she was bleeding through her eyes and mouth "Holy shit!".
He looked up again and saw the glowing eyes. He screams as he and his fellow guards quickly fired at the mysterious figure... only for him to vanish in a cloud of fog. The thugs looked around in fear. Where did that guy go? What had he done to their colleagues? Many questions flew through their heads as they desperately tried to figure out where the man vanished to.
"Non of you are on my list... but you work for the man I am after. And you can't name all the fishes in the lake. So you will all just have to die and be forgotten" The man's voice echoed from the fog.
Before the thugs could react, one of them was stabbed through the neck from behind. The other thugs quickly began firing, but the man vanished again. He then suddenly appeared again, and sliced open another's thug's chest before vanishing again before the others could shoot him. A thug looked around in panic before a hook entered his neck and he was pulled up like a struggling fish. The last two guards stood back to back as they looked around in full panic mode. What kind of monster were they dealing with here? They didn't have time to figure it out before the man appeared above them, and the last thing that was heard were their screams.
The commotion outside did not go unnoticed as the thugs inside had already been ordered to cover the front door, and to shoot anyone that comes through, no matter who it was. The door opened just a little... and fog began to flow inside. The thugs got nervous but kept their aim at the door... but they where looking at the wrong place... the man was not in front of them... he was in the middle of them. Something they did not notice until it was to late.
The crime lord was watching the whole thing on his monitor... and all he saw was his loyal followers dropping like dead fish left and right. Finally, once the last thug was dead... the camera managed to catch who the attacker was... he was wearing dark suit with some armor plating... and a black bag like mask that looked like something a serial killer from a horror movie would wear. The man looked right in to the camera... before he vanished.
The crime lord quickly grabbed his gun, ready for anything... then his room began filling up with fog. He then heard something and quickly fired a shot, but only managed to hit his lamp. He felt something but before he could react, he was struck in the back of the head, knocking him out. Later when he woke up, he felt himself being dragged across the ground, he tried to move but his hands and legs were tied.
"What the hell! What are you doing!?" He demanded.
The man did not answer at first but stopped when they reached the water, he then turned around and lifted the crime lord by his collar "You are near the top of my list. I never bothered to write down you name, since you don't deserve to be remembered".
"You can't do this to me! I have powerful friends! They will make your life a living hell!" The crime lord shouted.
"Hell? I've been to hell. And now I bring hell to those bastards who deserves it. But unlike me, you will not make it back" The Man said as he dragged the crime lord towards a crate.
"No stop! Please, I'll give you anything you want!" The crime lord screamed in panic.
"What I want, is for you to be washed away forever" The man said before throwing the crime lord in to the crate.
"Who the hell are you!?" The crime lord shouts.
"I left my name behind a long time ago. Call me...: Pyke" The man said before slamming the crate shut and locking it.
He then kicked the crate in to the water, the crime lord's screams could be heard before they vanished below the dark depths along with the crime lord himself. Pyke watched him sink, knowing he would die a slow and horrifying death once he hits the bottom. Slowly suffocating inside his metal coffin. He then pulled put his list and crossed of the crime lord.
"Another one of the list. But still more to go" Pyke said before he continued his hunt.
No one was safe... for as long as they were on Pyke's list.
.
There you go. I was going to use Project Pyke for this. But the newly released PsyOps skins were so badass, and Pyke's PsyOps skin was perfect for the type of story I wanted to make for him. And noticed how I didn't give him a bio to explain how he is different from his canon counterparts? Well I did that on purpose, to create some mystery around him.
