Meeting Of Dangerous Minds.
Things in the world was getting more tense as the rumors of a second Omnic Crisis being on the Horizon was getting more and more believable. Talon was pulling the strings from the shadows, planing to make sure the war they desire comes to pass. But, they knew they had to step carefully. They were walking on thin ice, and one misstep would make them fall through. Right now, Swain and Doomfist were on their way to a meet someone... Someone who was very dangerous, but could be a viable ally in the upcoming conflict. Swain himself has been laying low during these so called, peaceful times, but as tensions grew he was slowly making sure the rest of Talon knew he wasn't gone. But first thing first, they needed to meet with their hopefully new ally to discuss what they could accomplish together. However, one of them was not to keen on working with this man.
"You are sure of this? This man is a snake" Doomfist said, while being no stranger to working with dangerous people, he had heard very unpleasant rumors about the man they had come to meet.
"I am well aware of who and what he is. But he knows the criminal underworld better than even we do. If we can convince him of our cause, his help could prove invaluable to us" Swain answered, Doomsfit still didn't like this, but followed Swain in to a room where there was a table. Two people were already waiting for them.
One was a tall and thin middle-aged man with pale skin, combed black hair with gray streaks, a right blue eye, and heavy scarring on the left side of his face. His most notable trait was his left eye, which lacked an eyelid and appeared to be heavily discolored, with an orange iris and black sclera. He was also wearing a red and black three-piece suit. Despite his seemingly frail appearance, he had a very dangerous aura around him, and one look at him made it very clear you should watch what you say and do, or else something really bad will happen.
Behind him was a muscular brown skinned middle-aged woman with black hair and grey eyes. She wears a common brown colored clothing with some additional copper elements and accessories. She is also wearing a red poncho on top of her regular clothing. Her clothing was covering her left arm, meaning something was hidden under it. Doomfist studied her for a moment, she looked like someone who's experienced a lot of hardships in her life, which has forged her in to a dangerous woman. He could respect that, since he too was forged by hardships and conflict. With any luck he will see what she could do with his own eyes
"Ah, Swain. I am pleased you could make it. It's an pleasure to finally meet some of Talon's leaders" The man said in a calm tone as he sits down on a chair.
"The pleasure is all mine. I've been looking forward to finally meeting the feared Silco" Swain said as he took a seat himself.
The man named Silco smiled "I shouldn't be surprised you know of me, Swain. It's hard to any strangers when so many knows who you are".
Silco is a very powerful drug lord and industrialist. A tyrannical and megalomaniacal individual, he had a hand in almost every major drug operations around the world, and was the overall head of the world's most powerful criminal organization. All thanks to a new drug he had been selling, which had lead to many violent fights around the world, as said drug was very dangerous and extremely addictive.
"Indeed" Swain said as he pulled out a bottle "Care for some vine?".
"To rich for my blood. I prefer simpler stuff" Silco answered as he took out a flask and took a sip before he sighs "This is Sevika, she insited on being here for safety reasons. Now then, shall we begin our discussion".
Swain pours himself some vine "We shall. But I doubt there will be much need for a discussion. I believe our cause will benefit you greatly".
"Is that so? Please go on" Silco said.
Swain sips his vine before putting his glass down "As you are already aware, Talon has great plans in motion. We are working on a way to make humanity, and by extension the world, stronger. But our plans requires resources and a lot of strong people. Your empire would be very useful to further our goals".
"If you believe so. But I doubt you would come here to demand me to fall in line. I trust you have something to offer in return for my help" Silco said, keeping his tone as calm as ever.
"We do indeed. In return for your help, we will make sure you become more powerful than even you could've imagined. Power that would allow you to topple governments and rule an entire continent. Allowing you to create your very own nation" Swain explained.
"And your plans are to start another war? I fail to see how that will benefit me or my people" Silco said, clearly not even considering the offer.
Doomfist finally spoke up "Humanity has always been tested. Through conflict and hardships, we evolved and grew stronger. But peace and the lack of conflict has weakened us, made us forget who we really are. Our goal is to remind the world was true power really is. To finally open their eyes to the real truth. Power Through Conflict".
Silco chuckled at his speech "So, you believe in survival of the fittest? That only the ones strong enough and powerful enough deserves to live? And the weak needs to be swept away? Such blind way of looking at the world. I fear neither of you know what true power is, nor who is worthy of it".
Swain narrowed his eyes "Then by all means, enlighten us".
"Power comes from control. If you lose control, you lose yourself. You become little more than a dog, fighting over trash. Power, real power, doesn't come to those who were born strongest, or fastest, or smartest. No. It comes to those who will do anything to achieve it" Silco explained.
Sensing the situation was growing more tense, Doomfist was ready to fight... until he suddenly began coughing, as did Swain, as the room began filling up with toxic gass. Silco stood up, barely effected by the gass at all.
"Hard to breath? Yes I would imagine so, from people who has spent all their life breathing fresh air. I grew up in a very toxic part of town, this was the air I had to breath every single day, and every single night. I was a rat on the street" Silco said as he walked up to the coughing Swain "But you, Swain. You are a bird, you flew over the toxic air on the ground, reaching heights no other animal could ever hope to reach. But do you know what happens when a bird loses their wings? They fall, and if they survive, they suffocate or starve. Regardless of what, a grounded bird is doomed to die, and maybe even become food for the rats".
Suddenly, Swain's hand was on Silco's throat as he lifted him up "You underestimate me. I am very aware of the toxic air on the ground".
Sevika looked ready to intervene, but Doomfist got in the way as they glared at each other. Sevika was also used to toxic air, while Doomfist was more than strong enough to resist it, at least long enough to break out, should it be necessary. Sevika revealed a metal arm, which had a blade coming out of it, but Doomfist wasn't intimidated in the slightest. He's seen a lot worse, but that doesn't mean he was underestimating her... He knew better than to take anyone lightely.
"I will let you in on a little secret, Silco. I am no mere bird, I too grew up on the toxic streets, and I had to learn how to fly from ground level. That is how I reached new heights. I endured, and I became strong" Swain explained.
Silco chuckled "It looks like I did misjudge you. However, rats can't fly out of the toxin, we had to adapt and survive. Meaning...".
He punched Swain in the face, forcing him to let him go and back away.
"You may have developed a strong resistance. But you are not immune. You can keep your offer, and spare us your threats. Your war will only bring ruin, and my people would gain nothing from it. We have our own ways of surviving, and prosper" Silco said as he began to leave.
"I urge you to reconsider, Silco. Anyone who oppose us will be crushed" Doomfist warned.
"If you are arrogant enough to try, I will be ready. Come on, Sevika, we're done here" Silco ordered as Sevika begrudgingly followed him.
"We had the advantage. We could've finished both of them" Sevika said as they left the building.
"I pick my battles more carefully than this, Sevika. This was a fight we had no chance of winning. So we need to leave before they realize it too" Silco said, knowing full well Swain and Doomfist were unbeatable together "But by the time they come for us, it will be far to late. Shimmer is almost complete, and with it's power, we will be unstoppable".
As for Swain and Doomfist, they were heading back to their base. Their failure to gain Silco's cooperation was disappointing, but Swain did not look to worried. He suspected Silco might refuse their offer, but he didn't expect the near fatal gassing. That gass would've killed an ordinary person within minutes. But Swain and Doomfist are no ordinary men, so they survived.
"Silco is smart, cunning, and holds a lot of power. I can understand why he's so feared. But now my belief of him being more of a burden than a asset has only strengthened" Doomfist admitted.
"We will deal with Silco in due time. But I would be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed. His resources could've saved us months of planing and preparations. His refusal to help is indeed a waste" Swain said.
Doomfist looked out a window "It matters little. Our plans are well on their way to completion. Even if Overwatch does indeed make a comeback, it will be far to late for them t stop us now".
"Indeed. But Overwatch would still cause complications we do not need at such a crucial part of our plans. Reaper and the rest of our assassins will continue to keep an eye out for any Overwatch activity, and deal with them before they can become a problem. Meanwhile, we will move forward as planned" Swain said.
"You sound like you have something else on your mind" Doomfist noted.
"I do indeed. Silco may have refused our offer, but that does not mean we can't recruit more people to our cause. And there is one man who's goal is very close to our own" Swain said as an image of a certain individual came on screen.
Doomfist looked at the screen "I know about him. But I am unsure if he will join us. His belief is similar to ours, but his motivations are much different".
"I am aware. But I do not believe he's unreasonable. Which is why I believe you would be the best one to convince him. He respects strength, and you are the strongest one here, by far" Swain said.
Doomfist remained silent, but a smile did spread on his lips. He has been curious of experiencing the strength of this legendary man named... Darius.
.
Just a small idea I had. Tell me what you think.
