A New Dueling Harmony
Yup, it's been a while since I did the first chapter but now, it is time to finally start the story properly but first, I liked to issue an apology to a reader named Orochi as he asked me to do a Yu-Gi-Oh Sevens story for his birthday but I couldn't find an inspiration for the story so I ditched it, sorry buddy but still, while I am a little bit late, happy birthday to you buddy.
And now, enjoy this chapter.
A new Duelist vs the Gamer
It was nighttime in New Tokyo city.
Most of the people in the city were either stargazing, looking upon the stars as they hoped to obtain an Ultimate title so that they could become popular, playing casino games or they are just strolling the streets at night in order to enjoy their surroundings.
Among these people, there was a young man, wearing a black costume with a tie and who has spiky-ish brown hair where a ahoge is located on the top of his hair, who is looking around in order to find a certain place, after a few minutes of searching, he finally found the place that he was looking for.
It was a Game Club, it looked like one of the regular clubs but instead of dancing, these people go to these clubs in order to play video games all night as they were only opened at night.
The young man, whose name is Hajime Hinata, a regular man who had no talent, decided to step forward in order to enter the club but the bouncer notice him and decide to stop him.
"Hey you! Only invited members can enter here, if you are not invited, I suggested that you leave immediately!" threatened the bouncer.
Hajime sighed, he knew that the bouncer wouldn't let him enter that easily, he decided to get something from his pocket and he took out money from it.
"And if I pay with this?"
The bouncer took the money and he starts to count it, apparently, Hajime just gave him at least 500 yen in order to bribe his way to the club, the bouncer, amused by the prospect of earning the money, decide to let Hajime enter the club.
"I think I can allow that, welcome to Dynamite Games club sir, if you want to have a full nighttime of gaming, you've come to the right place" announced the bouncer as he begins to step away in order to allow Hajime to enter the club but the young man had one question for the man.
"Actually, I'm looking for a girl named Chiaki Nanami, I've heard that she is one of your regular clients, is she here tonight?" asked Hajime.
"Ah yes, Miss Nanami is here, she is actually at the Fighting Game room, you can't miss her, when she plays, everyone is looking at her screen, she is the Ultimate Gamer after all" said the bouncer as Hajime thanks him while he enters the club.

As Hajime strolls around the club, he looked around him and he sees multiple gamers playing on different games of different genres, MMORPG, Racing games, Platform games… there was nearly every types of games that existed within the Earth but the one that he was looking was the Fighting Game room as this was the room where Chiaki is supposed to be.
After a few second of searching, he came across a large circular room where most of the people were gathered while looking at a TV screen where two players were playing Blazblue Cross Tag Battle, curious, Hajime goes towards the group of people in order to see what was going on.
When he looked over the shoulders of the crowd, he saw that one of the players was a young mauve-haired girl wearing a dark-teal gray shirt with a light pink ribbon tied to her neck as a bow, she was also wearing a one-button dark-teal gray hooded cardigan where the hood looked like a cat's head, the young girl was easily winning against her opponent, a feat that Hajime was realizing that the young girl could be none other than Chiaki.
Eventually, Chiaki manage to land an Astral Finish at her opponent allowing her to win her match which cause the audience to applaud her as they were amazed of her performance, Hajime joins the audience in praising the young girl as he admit to himself that she was indeed an excellent gamer which shows that she was worthy of her Ultimate Gamer title.
"Damn, I didn't had the chance to land an Astral Finish, the rumors were true, you are indeed good Nanami-San" praised Chiaki's opponent.
"Thanks but you did well yourself, you did manage to beat out my Ragna once" reassured the young girl.
"W-well, I guess I was lucky back there" blushed the young man as he was surprised that Chiaki compliment him.
"I don't think it was luck, it was your skills that allowed to do that, keep training and maybe, you will be able to beat me" encouraged the Ultimate Gamer towards her opponent to which he finished up happy and he went back to the audience who starts to praise and reassure him, saying that he was a good player despite the fact that he has lost.
But when Chiaki was about to ask who will be her next challenger, Hajime raise his hand as he want to speak to her.
"Excuse me ?" asked Hajime as he breaks through the crowd in order to speak to the Ultimate Gamer, some members of the audience starts to snicker with one of them discretely saying that he won't stand a chance against Chiaki "I'm sorry to interrupt you but I'm looking for Chiaki Nanami".
"That's me but who are you?" politely asked the young girl.
"I am Hajime Hinata, I was looking everywhere in town in order to meet you" said Hajime.
"Oh? You were looking for me? For what end?" asked Chiaki.
"You are the Ultimate Gamer, you've obtained the title where you were 9 years old thanks to your family who were great gamers themselves" explained Hajime.
"Well, that resume is accurate" said the Ultimate Gamer with a small smile as she was a person that didn't think highly of herself and she estimated that she everything that she has obtained, she earned it through her efforts.
"But I've also learned that you have become one of the greatest champions of the Duel Monsters game" explained Hajime as he was about to ask a favor to Chiaki "so, I was thinking, since I've just started the game myself, I wanted to know if you will be willing to help me train through a duel".

The customers then begin to laugh at the young man like if his request was a joke that was made by a brilliant humorist.
"Is he fuckin serious?" "That noobie wants to challenge the great Chiaki?" "It won't be sad"
"Listen kid" one of the clients begins to say at Hajime "I don't know if you are dreaming of grandeur or something but Chiaki there is considered as one of the greatest champions of Duel Monsters, if you duel her, she will easily win against a punk like you, so be a good little kid and get the fuck outta here".
"Yeah!" "Get lost loser!" Go back to Mama!" the other customers chimed in which starts to irk Hajime as they doubt him even though they didn't see him in action but thankfully, Chiaki came to his defense.
"No, he is right, he deserve a try, besides, maybe you will be a worthy opponent despite his newly start so, I'm interested to see his skills" said the Ultimate Gamer which shocks the other customers.
"B-b-b-but you will beat him to a pulp" protested a client but Chiaki did not back down.
"Maybe I will, maybe I won't, the most important thing is that victory doesn't matter, what truly matters is to have fun, right Hajime?" said the Ultimate Gamer.
"Sure" chimed the young man.
"Then it's settled" happily chimed Chiaki as she took her place to begin the duel, as she put herself in position, she stretch her arms to activate some sort of blue and red duel disk in order to duel.
"What is that?" asked Hajime as he didn't knew what was that thing, the audience was then starts to laugh mockingly at the young man.
"That little punk doesn't even know what a duel disk is, this is completely pitiful" mocked a client "a duel disk is what allow us to duel you idiot".
"You shouldn't laugh at him, he is a beginner at the game" defend the Ultimate Gamer "besides, if you think that he will lose easily, give him your duel disk so that he could duel".
With a smirk, the client pulls out his duel disk and throws at Hajime who catches it, strapping the disk at his arm, he activate it and put himself in position, as he is ready to duel Chiaki.
IT'S TIME TO DUEL!
Hajime vs Chiaki
(BGM: Neo vs Morpheus)
The customers then begins to get excited as the duel holograms begins to activate so that the monsters could be summoned and appear on the field.
"Well, ladies first" gallantly says Hajime.
"Thank you, Draw!" says Chiaki as she drew her sixth card "I put a monster in Face-down Defense position and I'll end my turn!"
A hologram of a card appears on the field.
"So soon? There's something not right" thought Hajime as he found suspicious that the Ultimate Gamer only summoned a monster but it was now his turn "Draw! I summon Battle Ox in Attack position! »
An humanoid ox wearing red armor and a giant axe appears on the field (A: 1700/D: 1000)
"Battle Ox, attack, Axe Attack!" ordered Hajime as Battle Ox launched itself in order to attack Chiaki Face-down monster.
Eventually, the attack made contact with the Ultimate Gamer but much to Hajime's shock, the monster countered Battle Ox's attack as a blue smoking tiger held the monster axe through its paws.
"I'm sorry Hajime but your attack has been countered" said Chiaki as her monster, Soul Tiger, had more Defense Points than Battle Ox Attack Points (A: 0/D: 2100), the tiger threw away the ox, decreasing a bit of Hajime's life points (Hajime: 3600).
"Damn, she got me!" cursed internally Hajime as he admitted, the Ultimate Gamer made a good move "alright then, I'll activate Future Fusion!"
A magic card appeared on the field, showing a drawing of a city where beams of light overflows the sky.
"When I activate the card, I have to throw Fusion materials in my Graveyard for a monster that I planned to Fusion summon in two turns, once two turns will be passed, I can Fusion summon that monster thanks to Future Fusion" explained Hajime as Chiaki begins to be amazed of the young man's strategy.
"So, you are playing a fusion deck!"
"That's right and now for Future Fusion, I'll throw five cards in my Graveyard" says Hajime as he throws five dragons monsters on his Graveyard which surprise the Ultimate Gamer and the audience.
"Five monsters? What is that nutbar has planned?" asked a woman.
"Don't worry, he won't have the time to summon that monster, Chiaki will put him at his place before he can summon it" reassured a man.
"I'll end my turn!" says Hajime.
"My turn, Draw!" says Chiaki as she draw another card before thinking what to do "if he is playing a Fusion deck, I'll have to be careful, these duelists can make any type of monsters that they want, I'll summon a monster in Face-down Defense and I'll end my turn".
Another card appeared on Chiaki's field much to the young man confusion.
"Another Face-down card? She must be up to something, thankfully, I have learned my lesson this time" thought in his mind Hajime as he draw a new card, he had a plan in mind in order to destroy all of Chiaki's monsters as he expect her another Face-down card to be another high-DEF monster "from my hand, I activate Polymerization!"
A magic card showing a fusion of two monsters is shown.
"Thanks to it, I can fuse two monsters in order to summon a Fusion monster, I use Buster Blader and The Dark - Hex-Sealed Fusion together in order to summon: Dark Paladin" says Hajime as a blue armored knight and a strange round objet who looked like a brain with multiple arms is shown to be fused together and in its place, a magician appears on the field, wearing dark blue armor and wielding a spear blade rod (A:2900/D:2400).
However, the audience is quick to react to a certain detail about the fusion.
"Hey wait, he didn't have a Dark Magician on his hand so he can't summon this monster!" objected a woman, indeed, normally, Dark Paladin an only be summoned through the fusion of Dark Magician and Buster Blader.
"Yeah, you are nothing but a cheater!" backs up a man who agrees with the woman but the Ultimate Gamer decide to step it up in order to defend Hajime.
"He got the right to do that" says Chiaki "The Dark - Hex-Sealed Fusion has the ability to substitute any DARK monsters as long as the other remaining Fusion materials are the same as the monsters substitute, nice move Hajime, I did admit that I wasn't excepting that".
"Well, when you grow in a modest family, you can't really buy all the cards that you want, so, I took everything that I could and that allows me to do these fusions even without the correct Fusion materials" explained Hajime.
"Which gives you more freedom to summon your monsters" deduced Chiaki.
"Yeah" agreed Hajime until his face suddenly drops "but still, compared to all of you, that didn't give me a talent at all or makes me a true duelist either".

Everyone were surprised of that statement, they weren't excepting Hajime to be self-decreasing himself in front of everyone, suddenly, the Ultimate Gamer decide to speak to the young man.
"Are you sure that having a talent is always the answer for everything?"
"Huh?" blurred out Hajime as he wasn't expecting that kind of question from someone like Chiaki, the young girl decide to continue to explain her reasons to Hajime.
"It won't make a difference whether you have a talent or not. Well, I mean, that isn't the end goal. Compared to us Ultimates, you have greater freedom about the entire aspects of your life. In my case, all I have are games. But you, Hajime, you can go anywhere and you can become anything so a talent is meaningless or someone like you, it's your freedom that you should cherish, remember that."
Hajime was baled by Chiaki's speech, it was strong but gentle at the same time, like if this was her mother who spoke to him.
Ever since he was a child, he wanted to have a talent so that his family could be proud of him but he has failed in every aspects of life that he has tried, that's why he turned himself into dueling, so that he could obtain a talent but maybe, now that the Ultimate Gamer had said that, maybe he can make a difference even without a talent.
He was now motivated, motivated to win the duel just to see if he could succeed even without a talent.
"Maybe you're right Chiaki, I try to succeed without a talent" says Hajime to which the young girl smiled, she was happy that she has helped Hajime in gaining more confidence to himself.
"That's the spirit Hajime" praise Chiaki.
"Now, Dark Paladin has the ability to obtain 500 Attack Points if I got Dragons monsters in my field or in my Graveyard" explained Hajime which shocks the audience as they did remember that Hajime had send five monsters in his Graveyard which gives Dark Paladin a boost of 2500 Attack Points (A: 5400) "Now Dark Paladin, attack Soul Tiger now!"
Dark Paladin launched itself to Soul Tiger and sliced it in multiple pieces, destroying it.
"Battle Ox! Attack Chiaki Face-down monster, Axe Attack!" ordered Hajime as Battle Ox attacked the Ultimate Gamer Face-down monster and it manage to destroy it.
But suddenly, a giant bug launched itself from the destroyed card and hugs Dark Paladin.
"What the?" asked Hajime when he shockingly discover that the bug had managed to destroy Dark Paladin despite the fact that he had destroyed it.
"This was Man-Bug Eater, when it is flipped, I can destroy a monster on the field and I had chosen Dark Paladin" explained Chiaki to which Hajime finally understood a thing about the Ultimate Gamer.
"I think I'm beginning to understand your deck Chiaki" says Hajime.
"Do tell".
"I was only thinking about destroying your monsters by launching my monsters into battle but you, you are using a different strategy, you bait your opponents into attacking either by countering their attacks or by using effects" explained Hajime.
"It seems you did manage to have understood my tactics Hajime, indeed, dueling is very similar to gaming, I don't have to be playing meta like everyone but instead, I would rather play a deck that counters that meta so that others won't be excepting my next move" boast the Ultimate Gamer.
"And it is working so far" says Hajime before he decide to end his turn "I'll end my turn".
"Alright then, it is my turn now" declared Chiaki as she drew a new card "and although my deck was indeed build to counter meta decks, I did have monsters that can be used for battle, just like Bistro Butcher that I summon in Attack Position".
(BGM: Wild cyclone – Yu-Gi-Oh GX)
The Bistro Butcher appeared on the field in the form of a blue demon wielding a huge kitchen knife and has a hook-like hand.
"Alright Bistro Butcher, time to slice and dice Battle Ox, Butcher Slice!" ordered the Ultimate Gamer as the demon launched at the ox and cut him with its knife, destroying and taking out a bit of Hajime's life points (Hajime: 3500) "and now, since Bistro Butcher had inflicted you a bit of damage to your life points, you have the right to draw two cards from your deck".

"That can be useful" commented Hajime as he drew two cards that Bistro Butcher allowed him to draw.
"And I'll finish my turn by setting a Face-down card" says Chiaki as a hologram of a card appeared on the field "it is your turn now Hajime, give me your best shot!"
"I shall because I now activate Future Fusion!" announced Hajime as the two turns o Future Fusion activation has been complete "now, since I have tribute five Dragons Monsters as fusion materials, I can Fusion summon my strongest monster: Five-Headed Dragon!"
(BGM: Red-Eyes theme – Yu-Gi-Oh)
Everyone begins to gasp in horror as a strong pillar of light suddenly appears on the field, blinding everyone who looked at it, eventually, the monster emerged from it but its size was impressive, its tail was like 50mts long and five heads emerged from it, each representing an element (fire, water, earth, darkness and wind), after finishing its arrival, the five heads roared leaving a strong impression on the audience (A: 5000/D: 5000).
"No way, it is the monster that everyone mentioned about?" asked a woman.
"Yeah, it is but it is impossible, it is said that there was only copy of it, where did that noob get such a powerful card?" asked a man as he was impressed by the monster's appearance.
On the other hand, Chiaki was not afraid but she was instead impressed: she has heard stories about the Five-Headed Dragon but she has never thought that she will face it in her life, her blood started to boil, she was ready to fight against that monster.
"So this is the legendary Five-Headed Dragon? I'm honored to face it in a duel" says the Ultimate Gamer.
"Yeah, I do understand you Chiaki, when I see that monster every time that I saw his duels, I was always impressed by its strength and power and the at that he has willed me this monster has made me happy even though it will be the last thing that he will do" explained Hajime.
"Oh? So you mean you've got this card from the regional champion Hanzo Hattori?" asked Chiaki.
"Yeah" says the young man as a flashback goes in his head, as he remembered how he obtained the card.

One year ago.
It was a beautiful on Neo Tokyo City.
At the Neo Tokyo Stadium, two men were facing each other in a duel or the right to enter the very first Duel Monster Worldwide Tournament, one of them was Hanzo Hattori, a black bearded man wearing a yellow gear (sees him as Hanzo Hasashi from Mortal Kombat) who had no monsters on the field while his opponent controls Mystical Sand (A: 2100) and Rock Star (A: 2200).
"That's the end of the line, Hattori, you should call it a quit, there is no way that you could beat me" taunted the man.
"Until my life points will be done to zero, I will never give up" declared Hanzo as he draw a new card "I activate Polymerization, I use five Dragons Monster that I have in my hand in order to summon: Five-Headed Dragon.
The five dragons used together to form the strongest Dragon monster, his opponent paled at it, as he was horrified of the monster.
"No way, Five-Headed Dragon? I thought it was only a legend" says Hanzo's opponent.
"As you can see, he is real" says Hanzo as he prepares to ask his monster to launch its attack "here you go, Five-Headed Dragon, it's time to send your Multi-Element Blast!"
One by one, the heads unloaded a blast of energy at the man's monsters, destroying them while Hanzo's opponent let out a horrified scream as his life points goes to zero, Hanzo is then seen raising his hands in victory, enjoying the moment of his victory that allowed him to enter the Duel Monsters Tournament.
After celebrating his victory, Hanzo goes to his room in order to get changed but suddenly, he felt a horrible pain striking his heart, causing him to stop and clutch his hand into his chest, trying to regain his breath, he suddenly hears someone talking to him.
"Hanzo Hattori?"
Surprisingly but fortunaly, his heart start to calm down following the intervention allowing Hanzo to look at the young boy who was no other than Hajime.
"Are you alright?" asked Hajime as he was worried about Hanzo's condition.
"Don't worry, it's nothing" reassured Hanzo as he didn't want to frighten the boy "you want something kid?"
"Oh yeah" says Hajime as he grab a notebook and a pen "can you give me an autograph? I am one of your biggest fan I've watched nearly every one of your duels and I know all of your strategies".
"That's great, you can teach me a bit because I keep forgetting some of my own strategies" joked Hanzo as he grab the notebook so that he could put his autograph in it, when he is finished, he gives the notebook back to the young boy but he decided to ask him a question "tell me something kid, are you a duelist?"
"Well, I am just starting but I don't think that I am a good duelist" sadly muse Hajime.
"Why are you saying that?" asked the champion.
"Well, let's just say that I try everything in order to obtain a talent but I always fail in the end, I thought becoming a duelist might earn me the Ultimate Duelist title but I don't know if I could make it" explained Hajime to which Hanzo decide to tell him something really important.
"You know, I can relate to that, I, too, tried numerous things before I became a renowned duelist, I wanted to be a doctor but I failed miserably but what you have to know is that, each time that I've tried to do something and that I ailed it, I didn't give up, I still kept hope that I will succeed something in life and this is what happens when I tried dueling, I first thought that I will failed it but when I became a professional duelist, I realized that I have defied fate" explained Hanzo before he continues his explanation "you see Hajime, fate seems to put you in something that you will make your life miserable but if you defy it and that you win, that means that you have obtained your goal in life so if dueling will allow you to have a talent, believe in it, defy fate and you will succeed in obtaining a talent and if in case, you will fail, you can try something else that will give you a talent, as long as you keep hope, nothing will stop you Hajime".
Hajime was amazed of the words that the champion had gave him, Hanzo decide to give him something to motivate him.
"And I will always support you thanks to this card" says Hanzo as he gives a card to Hajime who look at it and he widens his eyes when he sees that Hanzo has gave him his most prized card: the Five-Headed Dragon.
"Isn't this?" asked Hajime.
"It is yours now, my dragon will help you defy fate just like it did with me, thanks to it, you will get whatever you want" reassured Hanzo as Hajime looks at it again as he can't believe that he has Hanzo most precious monster.
"But the Duel Monsters Tournament, how will you?" begin to say Hajime but Hanzo interrupted him.
"I will find another way but at least, my dragon will be with you and I know that it will be in safe hands" reassured Hanzo as he pat the young boy's head which makes him pleased, he then goes to the dressing room while Hajime look one again at the card, bewildered that he has now such a powerful card.

"I soon learned that he was suffering from his heart conditions for about five years, two days after he gave me the card, he was put in the hospital as his heart had collapsed on him and" stopped Hajime as remembering about his favorite duelist death could make him cry, the audience begins to sympathize with the boy, impressed that he received the card from Hanzo Hattori but they were sad that he lost someone that he loved, Chiaki was one of them as she felt sympathy for the young man.
"I'm sorry Hajime".
"That's why I've wanted to keep believing that I could obtain a talent because he told me to defy fate, that our own history was not written in advance and that we should keep hoping that we will obtain whatever we want, that's why I will duel, to achieve that" says Hajime with determination in his eyes "still, I keep your words with me Chiaki, perhaps, dueling is meant for me and that maybe talent is not the answer, I will search it through my own dueling".
"Well said Hajime" complimented the Ultimate Gamer to which Hajime respond with a smile, she then decide to come back to the duel as the Five-Headed Dragon was standing above her "so if I recall correctly, your Five-Headed Dragon cannot be destroyed in battle right?"
"That's right, since he has the power of fire, water, earth, darkness and wind, he cannot be destroyed by these attributes, only LIGHT monsters could eliminate him in battle" says Hajime "now, I am ready to attack, Five-Headed Dragon, Multi-Element Blast!"
One by one, the heads started to prepare their blasts of energy in order to attack Bistro Butcher and took 3200 life points from the Ultimate Gamer but Chiaki was ready, she had something that it will save her.
"I do admit that the Five-Headed Dragon is indeed a dangerous monster but you have forgotten about my defense Hajime" says Chiaki.
"Wha?" first started to ask the young boy but he then realize that the Ultimate Gamer had put a Face-down card on her previous turn and that, in his excitement, he has completely forgot about the card "shit, her Face-down card!"
But it was already too late as the Five-Headed Dragon launches its attack, prompting Chiaki to activate her Face-down card.
"Trap card activate! Magic Cylinder!" says Chiaki as two cylinders appear behind her "I can use that card in case of an attack, I can redirect your attack against your life points!"
The blast hit one of the cylinders and was launched back by the other one, Hajime could only smile in the face of his own mistake, had he would have remembered the Face-down card, he wouldn't lost while he had the upper hand, the attack strikes him up front decreasing the remaining of his life points (Hajime:0).
Chiaki Wins!
Hajime finished up on the ground, a little bruised up from the attack from his own monster but he signaled up to the crowd that he was alright, the audience then starts to applaud both duelists and they were no malice from Hajime's part since the audience were amazed that he had such a powerful monster and that he had managed to summon it.
"It was a nice duel Hajime, I really enjoyed it" says Chiaki as she offers her hand to help pulling Hajime back to his feet, he took it and gets up from his position.
"Yeah, even though it was one-sided, I had a lot of fun, I just need to train some more" reassure Hajime.
"Indeed, you have a powerful deck but do know that a duel is not always on attacking your opponent, you have to outmaneuver him through strategy, if you use your smarts against him or her, you can always beat them to their own game" advised the Ultimate Gamer.
"I'll remember that, thank you Chiaki, I'll continue my training and I'll think about my future, I'll see if I need a talent or not" says the young man as he prepare himself to leave the room but Chiaki stops him as she wanted to say something to him.
"Wait, before you leave, maybe we can play a game together? Not a duel but a video game if that don't mind you at all" asked the Ultimate Gamer.
"Sure" says Hajime.
"So, what kind of game do you want to play? Puzzle? Fighting games?" asked Chiaki.
"Well, maybe a fighting game, like Tekken, I'm a little good at it although I do know that you might destroy me at it, I think that I may be of a match for you, what do you think?" asked Hajime.
"Oh! Sound good, I'm up for the challenge!" excitedly said Chiaki as she goes to a screen to load Tekken 7 on the PS4 to which Hajime joins her in order to have a good time with her but also to thank her for the duel.

Meanwhile, at the Togami Corporation headquarters.
Byakuya Togami is reading a book on his office, ever since he was a child, he was a great fan of reading especially Balzac novels sine he an relax without thinking of the outside world.

That could be interesting, to say the least, Togami can manage to obtain the card to make sure that the Togami Family would always stand above others, thinking of his next plan, a smirk starts to appear on the heir face.
"You know what Aloysius? Perhaps you are not useless to me after all; this could be our chance to rule over the game of Duel Monsters".
