Here's the next chapter. In quarantine so I have a good bit of time to write. To xXBalorBabeXx I have an idea but I'm not sure if it's a good one. Gonna go ahead and write it though and if you have any changes you would like let me know. Think I will use this to set up the stuff I previewed in chapters 3 and 4.
"It's you." Nelle whispered, the pieces clicking into place and Frank smiled. "I have no idea what you're talking about. You must be losing it. You don't look well. Can I get you some water?" He asked and she just glared at him, Bobbie standing stock still behind her just watching everything play out but getting a bad feeling about this. "I don't want any water. I want you to admit what you did. You're responsible for all of it, the shirt, the phone calls, the note and the stuff at my old apartment." She said, tears falling from her eyes and Bobbie saw the moment when she went over the edge.
"I'm telling you, it wasn't me." He said and before Bobbie could tell him to leave, Nelle had pulled out a gun. "Wo. Put that down, Nelle. You don't need that." She said, dialing Carly's number. "You did it." She screamed, pointing the gun at his head and his calculating smile told her all she needed to know. "How could you? You hired them and then it wasn't enough so you had to destroy the one relationship that has ever mattered to me." "Janelle. You don't deserve her. She's only taking care of you because she feels sorry for you, and pretty soon, she's going to lock you up, just like you did to her. I hear they haven't fired the staff that was there during her stint." He said and she let out a scream, finger placed on the trigger.
Carly sighed as she glanced around the house. Sonny had left a while ago and all she could thinkab was Nelle. She felt aweful about their fight and wanted to make it right. Her phone ringing brought er out of her thoughts.
"Hey, mom. Have you seen Nelle?" "Carly, you need to get to my house, now. Frank Benson is here, and Nelle seems to think he's the one who's been setting her up. She has a gun." She said rapidly, eyes widening when she saw her finger on the triggar. "I'll be right there. Try to get the gun away from her. Don't let him manipulate her. He's going to use what she did to me as a way to get inside her head. The last thing I want to do is send her to a mental hospital." She whispered and Bobbie sighed. "Tell her I love her." She said, grabbing her keys and hurrying out the door. "I will. I'm going to keep you on the phone." She said.
"Don't you think it's interesting? You make her think she's crazy and now I've done the same to you." He said, a maniacal laugh escaping his mouth and Carly pressed harder on the gas, not believing what she was hearing. "I knew it. It was you." She screamed and Carly's heart began to race. "Don't do it, baby. Nelle hey, can you hear me?" "Carly?" "Yeah, sweetie it's me. I need you to put the gun down."
"He ruined everything. You think I'm crazy and it's his fault. He needs to pay. I'll never have any peace if he's still breatheing." She sobs, finger returning to the triggar.
"Yes, you will. I'm not going anywhere, and I believe you. How could you do it, you son of a bitch?" She snapped, and he laughed once more. "She did it to you, and just so you know, if anything happens to me I've made it to where she goes straight to Ferncliff. She'll love it there." He cackles. It was bad enough you had her raped, and now you do this?" She demands, turning in the driveway and flying out of her car. "I had to. She's going away no matter what happens to me, but don't worry." He said. "Mary Pat will take great care of her." He said and Carly nearly dropped the phone when she heard a shot.
"Mom, Nelle." Carly called franticly as she entered the house. "In here." Bobbie called back and Carly flew into the room after texting Sonny and Dianne. There, on the floor was the dead body of Frank Benson and Nelle with her eyes glazed over stood a few feet away holding a gun. "Nelle, hey. It's Carly. Can you put the gun down?" She coaxed gently, the sound of the pcpd nearing the house setting her more on edge than she already was. "Gonna be locked away now. Did a bad thing." Nelle, whispered and Carly nodded. "Yeah, you did but it'll be ok. Dante will understand and Dianne can represent you." She explained.
2 days later
"Is there nothing you can do?" Carly demanded, Nelle clinging tightly to her, violent shaking taking over her intire body. "She killed her father, and yes, I know the pcpd found everything she told us about but he has power of attorney over her." Dianne said regretfully. "He's dead!" She blerted, not understanding how that was able to work. "Can't I be her guardian or something? We could check her into Shady Brook or Freedman." Carly asked, needing to find a way out of this for her.
"You know exactly what's going to happen to her if she goes there. Mary Pat is brutal." Carly insisted loudly, causing Nelle's shaking to increase. "Shhhh. It's ok." She cooed, pressing a kiss to her head. "There's nothing I can do, Carly. "She's going to Ferncliff." Dianne said and at that moment, something truly broke in the girl in Carly's arms and she knew things would never be the same.
Carly just prayed they got her out before it was to late.
