Ok. So here we go. We get to the 2 months Nelle is in Ferncliff and away from Carly. Warning she will not have an easy time, at all and this is where she stops speaking. One more chapter after this one and then she finally sees Carly so it'll happen in the next chapter. Messed up a little bit with the timeline so I'll have her mute for only one month vs three. Also she's only there for two months so sorry about that. Ended up following the show as much as I could so in the next chapter is when she stops talking. I'll also be going back and updating chapter 3 to fit this.
Nelle's eyes widened in terror as she was lead into Ferncliff. "Carly, please get me out of here."
"Janelle, I see you're up early." A stern looking nurse said the next morning as she entered Nelle's room. "I'm an early riser." "I can see that." She responded. "I didn't get your name."
"Oh, dear. My name is Mary Pat and I'm the supervising nurse here. It's nice to meet you, Janelle." "It's Nelle." She whispered but this did not phase Mary Pat. "It says here your legal name is Janelle." She said, totally disregarding Nelle's comment.
"Yeah but no one calls me that." She said. "Oh, am I a no one?" "Um no. T-that's not what I meant." Nelle whispered.
"Janelle, I have some rules to go over with you. You must respect all staff and patients at all time and go along with treatment." She said as Rupert entered the room with a tray.
"I don't understand. There must be some mistake." "Is that so?" Mary Pat questioned, clearly unimpressed with Nelle questioning her authority and she visibly winced but continued. "Yes. I'm not on any medication. I was taking fluoxetine for anxiety but that was only when needed." She explained, heart beginning to pick up speed with unease.
"Your intake orders say you need to be on lithium, risperidone, lorazepam and sertraline."
"What? Lithium is a mood stabilizer and what the hell is sertraline?"
"Language." Mary Pat rep-remanded as if Nelle was a child before continuing.
"It's an antipsychotic." "I don't need an antipsychotic." She disagreed.
"You aren't going to give me any trouble, are you?" "No. I-I'll take the pills. I was just surprised." She said softly. "Lift up your tung." Mary Pat demanded.
"I thought so. Did you really think you could hide them? So much for being an all star." She said before motioning to an orderly at her side. "Rupert?" She said and knowing what to do he suddenly restrained Nelle, making her begin to panic.
"Open up." Mary Pat demanded as she held Nelle's nose.
When she complied she poured the pills into her mouth. "Swallow." "It's better with water and cooperation." She said as Nelle coughed and choked as she swallowed the medication. "Rupert, watch her." She snapped before leaving the room and Nelle slowly lowered herself onto the bed as the burly man glared at her.
"I-I knew you'd come." Nelle whispered, clearly in a drug induced stupor as Kevin entered the room. "Were you expecting someone else?" "N-no. I thought I saw something but I don't know." "Are you alright?
How much medication do they have you on?" He questioned, alarm bells going off immediately upon seeing her. "I don't know. They say I'm on an antipsychotic." She slurred, Carly suddenly appearing in her vision beside Kevin. "Carly." She whispered and he glanced from her to the spot she was focused on and frowned. "Carly isn't here." He said gently. It's Kevin." He continued, taking her hand.
"Carly." She whispered once more and his frown deepened.
"What about her?" "Want Carly. Miss her." She mumbled, a tear falling from her eye. "I know you do. I'm going to be
here for you though and I'm gonna do my best to help you." He vowed. "C-can you get me out of here?" She begged. I don't know how long I can last in here."
"I'll do what I can." "Can you tell them no on the antipsychotic?" "Absolutely. Someone definitely went overboard." He insisted before leaving the room.
1 month later
Nelle knew she was in trouble. The fact she was now in a padded room not helping matters. "Carly. Please get me out of here." She whispered before the door opened. "You had to bring reinforcements?" She questioned when Mary Pat entered the room with Rupert. "You're agitated, Janelle. Dr. Lazarus has per-scribed a sedative." She explained and Nelle's eyes got as wide as saucers.
"Dr. Who?" She asked. Lazarus." Mary Pat responded and Nelle knew this definitely wasn't good.
"No. My dr is Kevin Collins." She said and Mary Pat shook her head. "I'm afraid you haven't heard he's away for a few days. You've been assigned to Dr. Lazarus."
" "I've never even seen him so how can he treat me?" She questioned, not entirely sure she wanted to know.
"I walked him through your history." She said before motioning to Rupert.
"Hold her tight. She's gonna need a full dose." She said and at his touch she immediately began whimpering, a flashback of her rape coming out of no where. "Want Carly." She pleated. "Oh, Janelle. You can't see Caroline." She said as Nelle began to struggle.
"It's easier if you don't fight, Janelle. You should know by now your treatment isn't up to you." Mary pat said before the needle was injected into her skin.
Dianne entered Ferncliff and walked directly up to Mary Pat. "I want to see my client." She said, showing her a signed court order from a judge. "I don't think that's a good idea." She said and Dianne gave her a look.
"Nurse Mary Pat, is it? Well Nurse Mary Pat, if you care to keep your job you'll let me see my client, now." "Alright. You have 5 minutes, but I doubt you'll need all of them."
Entering the room, Dianne stared in horror at Nelle who was in a straight jacket and a padded cell. "Nelle? Nelle, honey. It's Dianne. Can you hear me?
Carly sent me." She said softly, not sure if the girl even heard her she'd been so heavily medicated. "Carly? Where's Carly? Is she here?" She whimpered, just wanting to see the only person who made her feel safe. "No, sweetie. She can't come, but I've came to check on you. Now this is very important, Nelle. Listen to me." She said urgently but in the softest voice she could manage. "Do you know what drugs they're giving you?"
"I-I don't do drugs. Drugs are bad." She slurred and Dianne frowned in concern.
"Of course they are." She agreed. "The dr and nurses, do you know what they are prescribing you?" "Where's Carly?" She questioned. "You have to tell her to get me out. "I-I want Carly. T-they restrain me." She cried as Mary Pat reentered the room.
"5 minutes are up." She said and Dianne sighed before exiting the room. "How was your visit with your lawyer?" "Who?" Nelle slurred.
"Oh, dear. Was it that taxing? Good thing I have something to help you manage." "N-no. I don't want it." She whimpered. "Doctors orders, Janelle."
"Leave me alone." "Now you're upset. "I knew I shouldn't have let that woman in here but some people just don't listen." She explained.
"You started out that way, but you learned. Slowly but surely you learned. Open up." She said with a smirk as the girl complied. "Tung up. Good. No tricks. You'll have no trouble sleeping tonight." "No more pills." Nelle mumbled.
"Oh, Janelle. The doctors at ferncliff decide treatment not the patients." "When can I see Kevin?" "Oh, Dr. Collins. He's away but you're in very good hands with Dr Lazarus.
He has something very special planned for you and when he's finished you'll be a totally new woman."
