Here's the next chapter. I'll be going into Nelle's past a little more, but there will be nothing graphic when discussing the abuse. I am enjoying writing little Nelle though and I think this will be a good way to help her heal so she may stay in her little space for a while if everyone is alright with that. I think she needs to know real love and in a way, have a simblance of a normal childhood or at least have Carly show her how it was supposed to be. Also, sorry I am reposting this. For some reason, it didn't save what I had typed so I had to write the ending again. I use the ffn app.

Carly was awakened by a blood curdling scream and before she knew what she was doing, she was out of bed and across the hall, ready to comfort Nelle. Entering the room, she saw the girl tossing and turning in the sheets, sweat soaking the girl's clothes. "Nelle, sweetie. I need you to wake up." She cooed, running her hand through the sweat soaked hair.

"You should've listened to me." Frank growled and Nelle whimpered as he took off his belt. "Daddy, no. Pwease. No belt. I be good. I pwomise." She pleated but he just shook his head and brought the belt down across her back and Nelle let out another scream. "I told you to shut up. You know you only get food when I say." He bellowed as he continued delivering the lashes to her back. As he continued beating her, Nelle just wished it could be over.

Where was Carly. Why wasn't she helping her? "Ly Ly. Pwease help." "Nelle, baby. I need you to wake up. Frank isn't here. It's me, Carly." She whispered and Nelle immediately sat up, tears pouring from her eyes.

"Hey. It's Carly. You're safe now." She whispered as the girl shifted closer and crawled into her lap. "D-daddy had a belt. I was bad, but I not mean to." "I know, baby. It was just a bad dream though, and I'm sure you weren't bad. Even if you were, he should have never beat you like that." "I just wan food. I hungy." She explained and Carly took a steadying breath before continuing. "Listen to me. You will always have food when you're with me, and you're completely safe here." She comforted, beginning to rock her slowly. "I be good, pwease. Don go." She shrieked. "Shhh, I'm not going anywhere. Let's get you changed and you can sleep with me. Would you like that?" "Uh-huh. I sweep wif you." She whispered, her eyes beginning to close.

The next time Carly awoke, it was to the sunlight streaming through the window. Looking beside her, she smiled at the sight. Nelle was wrapped up in the blankets, blonde hair wild and spread across her pillow as she slept peacefully, one arm under her pillow and her other hand clutching Carly's t-shirt. . "My sweet girl." She whispered, remembering last nights events. "C-carly?" Nelle said sleepily as she sat up. "Hey, baby. Did you sleep ok?" "Yeah, I did, since I was with you." She responded. "Do you remember how you ended up in here?"

"Nightmare." She answered quietly. "Yeah, sweetie. It was a pretty bad one." Carly agreed. "Don't want to be his anymore." She explained and Carly gathered her close, pressing a kiss to the messy hair. "You're not. You're not his or anyone elses. Do you understand that?" She asked and Nelle nodded. "I have to go into work at some point. Do you want to come with me or stay here?" "I may stay here, but do I have my car?" "Yeah, baby. It's in the driveway."

"Ok. Why don't I meet you at Kelly's for lunch or I'll come to the hotel. I need to check in with Anne this morning." "Do you have an appointment?" "No. She left me a note before she left last night and wanted to hear about my first night being back home, so I figured I would go by gh." "Are you sure? I can come with you." "I'm sure. I need to start getting back on my feet." The girl said with a smile and Carly hugged her tightly. "I'm so proud of you. I hope you know that." "I do. Thank you." She whispered.

"Nelle, what a surprise." Anne said when Nelle entered her office. "Hello, Dr. Garcia." She said softly. "Are you alright?" "I just wanted to let you know it is great to be home. I only had one nightmare last night." She explained. "What was it about?" "My dad was beating me with a belt. I wanted food, and he had a rule where I was only aloud to eat when he said I could. I spent the rest of the night in Carly's room." She explained. "She also helped me take a bath. My dad, he would, ehm, do things to me while I was in there." She finally revealed and her therapist did her best to remain professional. She was absolutely sickened by the abuse the girl had endured. "How did Carly help you?" "She washed my hair, but she stayed by the tub. She didn't get in with me." The girl remarked and her therapists eyebrows rose in surprise. "Nelle. Did you think she would?" "Um, no. I was scared because of what my father did." "I understand that, but do you understand she would never do that?" Dr. Garcia questioned and Nelle nodded.

"It's hard." "I understand that. He abused you for years and fed you lies about Carly. It's understandable why you-"

"Why I had her locked in a mental hospital? No, it isn't." She suddenly bellowed, tears filling her eyes as she began to pace and her hands balled into fists as she attempted not to spiral into a form of harmful stimming. "Nelle, can you calm down? I promise everything is ok." "No it isn't." She screamed, a fist coming up and beginning to hit her head repeatedly. "Nelle. I need you to stop hitting. Clap your hands or flap them instead." Anne instructed but the girl just continued to hit while screaming about how she had Carly taken away.

"What in the world is going on in here?" Bobbie suddenly asked, having appeared in Dr. Garcia's office upon hearing all the noise. "Meltdown." Anne whispered and Bobbie immediately jumped into action, taking Nelle's wrists in both of her hands like she'd seen Carly do before. "Hey. Shhh. It's ok. Everything's ok." "No it isn't. I got your daughter locked up." She bellowed again, attempting to hit once more and this time Bobbie came around behind her, gently restraining her in a basket hold.

"Nelle. Can you listen to me?" "Can you listen to me?" She repeats and then nods, now just rocking rhythmicly against Bobbie's chest and both women sigh in relief as she slowly released her arms. "I can't argue with you on the fact you've done some horrible things, but Carly loves you and no matter what you did, you were abused. No one deserves that. Do you understand?"

"I do." She whispered. She just hoped she could believe what was said to her. Right now, she wasn't sure.
