A.N.: Hello faithful readers and new readers. I do sincerely apologize about the extremely long wait. All I have to say for myself is that I have been extremely down in recent years but am now in a good mind space to both write and post new chapters. I do have a couple of more chapters already written for this story so updates will be coming soon. If you have stuck with me throughout my hiatus I do appreciate it. Now on with the show.
Chapter Twenty-Four
Lovers Reunited
After Collette left the men started their trek back to the Hospital Wing and for Sirius his fiancée. The men entered the hospital wing laughing at a joke that Harry had told; one about a hag, a troll and a leprechaun who walked into a bar. Harry had gotten the joke out of Professor Dumbledore before he had died. "Not that old joke again." Tabitha Potter's voice said coming from the end of the wing. "I can't believe Albus was still working that joke into the welcoming feast. Ginny when did my nephew hear it."
"I believe it was…" Ginny began but Harry quickly silencing her before approaching and saying. "We haven't gotten to fourth year in our tale of Harry Potter. We just got into third."
"Which means I just entered the picture." Sirius said stepping around the crisp white hospital curtain giving his love a little privacy. "Hello Tabbycat." He smirked with a devil may care look in his eyes. "Why didn't you reveal yourself to me when you saw me?" After asking this the hurt was visible behind the mask that Sirius had built to protect his emotions.
Tabitha took a deep breath before saying, "By the time I knew who you were you were leaving and casting that spell to protect me and the baby. So please enlighten me when was I supposed to tell you that I was alive and that you had been shagging me for months. How would you react?" Her hormones had gotten the better of her now that they were able to surface properly again.
Sirius didn't answer her right away. He carefully thought out his answer before speaking, "Honestly I have no idea. I probably would have freaked out since I was told that you were dead but I would have been happy too; freaked but happy." Sirius ended taking the seat next to her bed. "Now Tabbycat are you prepared to marry me?" He asked taking her hand in his making use of his puppy dog eyes quite literally.
Tabitha sighed before saying, "I have been waiting for years to hear that question. Of course I'll marry you!" She popped out of the hospital bed faster than a jack-in-a-box with a tightly wound spring. Only to have to immediately lay back down due to a dizzy spell. "Well I guess that wasn't the best idea." Tabitha said laughing. "Now Paddy I want to know what went on behind the Veil."
With that said Ginny, Harry, Kingsley, and surprisingly Poppy settled around the two to hear the story. Sirius began with a put upon sigh, "Is this everyone that deserves to know?" He asked. Everyone nodded so Sirius began. "Okay. Well I went through the Veil by Bella's spell landing on my behind. I felt like I was floating for a while but I had no clue how much time had passed. Eventuly I was pulled into a clearing. I saw not only Harry but Prongs, Moony, and Lily." Sirius paused for a breath and Harry spoke up.
"That's two years after you fell and only happened five months ago. So after I released you all what happened?"
"Well I was kind of flung into a place kind of like a waiting room. I was standing there until this woman said, 'The council of the Dead will see you now, Mr. Black.' You can imagine the shock I felt as I never told her my name but the shocks didn't end there. Oh no she physically dragged me into a court room where three women were sitting just waiting for someone to come in.
