It wasn't as fancy as a party at Capsule Corp, but Goku thought this would be way better.
Those parties at Capsule Corp were always too crowded and noisy.
Besides, Vegan likes things quiet these days; she gave up so much to have this baby.
Even her life was at risk...
The least he could do was give her a quiet party.
Goku never threw a party before, but Eighteen was very helpful.
Eighteen baked the cake, brought the food, the decorations, and even helped decorate the house and invited the guests.
He wished that she didn't invite Bloomer, but it's the only way Trunks would come, and Vegan wanted his parents there; they'd always treated her fairly.
Eighteen even invited Videl and Hercule, hoping Gohan would talk Chi Chi into coming.
Videl and Hercule were the first to arrive, then came Roshi and oolong.
And Gohan had talked Chi Chi into bringing him and Goten by.
Chi-Chi wouldn't stay, but he can't say he was surprised.
It hurt, but... this was their reality now.
A reality that she ushered into-
No, he needed to stop that...
He shouldn't blame her or feel guilty.
She served him with divorce papers, so he was free to be with any woman who approached him.
Even Vegan.
Of all the women he could've gotten pregnant with, he's glad it was her.
He wouldn't know how to explain all this to an outsider.
'So, Goku,' asked Roshi, 'when is the baby due?'
'What?' Goku asked as he stopped eating and turned to him.
'When is the due date?'
'For what?'
'The baby...'
'There's a due date?!'
'The due date is Couple's Day.' Vegan said, annoyed.
'When did you find that out?' Asked Goku.
'Our last appointment.'
'Couple's day?' Repeated Videl. 'What's that?'
'You know, that day you humans show affection towards your mate.'
'You mean valentine's day?' Roshi choked.
'Yes, that one.'
'Speaking of couples,' asked Tien, 'are you two...?'
'Are we what?' Goku asked, confused.
'We're focusing on me surviving the pregnancy for now.' Vegan answered quickly. 'We just have to make it to the end of the pregnancy.'
'And what happens then?' Boomed a voice.
Goku felt their energies before they approached, but he didn't turn to them.
Chi-Chi would only start a fight if he tried to answer the question.
'Boys!' He said as Goten rushed over to him.
'Dad!' Goten jumped into his arms. 'I missed you!'
'I missed you too.' He said with a smile.
It hurt that Chi-Chi wasn't letting the boys come to see him.
'Err... hello, Vegan...' he said politely.
'Hello, Goten.' She said quietly.
'Uh, how are you feeling?'
'I'm fine. Thank you for asking.'
He blushed and rubbed the back of his neck.
'Is Trunks coming?'
'Bloomer mentioned something about bringing him by after work...' Eighteen muttered as she stepped closer. 'Uh, so Gohan, when do you start school?'
'Next week.' Gohan said quickly as he looked at Videl.
Videl looked away from him and turned to Goten. 'Hello, Goten.'
'Hi, Videl.' He chirped. 'How you don't come by anymore?'
'Goten-'
'I've been too busy cramming for my classes,' she said quietly, 'just when I think I've got everything figured out...'
'What's your, um... what are you going to school for?'
'Psychology and journalism.'
'Are you going to the same school as Gohan?'
'His school doesn't specialize in my majors.'
'Oh. What about Gohan?'
'Goten,' Goku said, 'what did your report card say? Did you make it to the next grade?'
'Yes!' He said excitedly. 'We had a party-'
'Goten.' Chi-Chi said quickly.
'A party?' Goku repeated. 'You had a party?'
Chi Chi folded her arms and scoffed, 'A small get-together.'
She had a party for Goten without me? He thought.
'Why wasn't I invited?'
'Because you'd bring unwanted guests.'
Goku started to respond when Vegan put her hand on his shoulder.
'When the party is over, we need to talk.'
'What about?' He asked, trying not to show anger in front of the boys.
'What else.' She said as she rubbed her stomach.
She was probably just saying that so he'd keep his temper.
If he made a scene in front of everyone, Chi-Chi keeps the boys away.
For someone labeled selfish, she cares a lot about the people around her.
He looked at Vegan and smiled; he kissed her forehead.
'Ok, sweetie.'
****
Chi Chi was furious!
'That woman is living in my house! Sleeping in my bed! With my husband!'
'Chi Chi, calm down!' Pleaded the Ox-King.
'He's parading her around-'
'Chi Chi, let's just go! I'll come to get the boys later.'
'It's like he doesn't even-'
'He's trying to do what's right.'
'What's right?!' Chi-Chi said as she turned to her father. She was in her boys' room, tidying up their room. 'Shacking up with that homewrecker-'
'She didn't wreck your home...'
She turned away from him; the remark slapped her face.
'I don't condone what Goku did, but I have talked to him about this. He saw you with someone else, and I guess he thought you didn't love him anymore.'
'Are you saying that this is my fault?'
'No, but filing for divorce is the catalyst for all of this...'
'Hercule took him to that bar!'
'Hercule took him there to make him feel better; why were you there?'
'One of my old friends told that if she wanted to meet for drinks-'
'You could have left-'
'Are you saying I'm the bad guy here?!'
'For dating someone after you file for divorce? No.'
'Then why-'
'For keeping the boys away from their father? Punishing him for doing what you were doing him first? Yes.'
'I didn't get pregnant!'
'Chi Chi, this isn't about you anymore. It's about Gohan and Goten.'
'But I love Goku, and I want him back!'
'Most likely, Goku wants the same too, but he's going to stick by Vegan for the sake of her baby.'
She wished that Vegan would just... die!
She wished Vegan would just die?!
She's never wished for someone to die before.
Not Piccolo.
Not Buu.
Not Raditz.
Not Freiza.
Not even Vegan when she crippled Goku.
Oh, she didn't like wishing things that...
But she still blamed Vegan!
'Fine... but I still hate her!'
'If you want to leave, we can.'
Chi Chi nodded slowly. 'Yes, I think we should go, but I want to talk with Goku.'
'Videl?'
Video hasn't been answering his phone calls, texts, or emails.
Gohan would settle for her making eye contact with him.
She didn't.
'Gohan.'
'How have you been?'
'Fine.'
'We should-'
'I'm not changing my mind, Gohan.'
'But-'
'I've been working towards this since I was a kid. I'm not giving up my dream.'
'I'm not asking you to.'
'Then what is it?'
'I don't want us to separate.'
She looked at him for the first time, shook her head, and laughed.
She was smiling again. He thought. That's good.
'We don't need to be together every waking moment.'
'I don't want to lose anyone else.'
'You didn't lose anyone.' She said dismissively. 'Your parents just got divorced.'
'But-'
'The circumstances of my parents' divorce are completely different from yours.'
'Not really.'
Videl scoffed and turned away.
Her smile was gone again.
'My father left my mother because she had a mental disorder, which eventually led to her putting me in danger.'
'So, you think I'm wrong for siding-'
'No, of course not. She's your mom.'
'Then, what is it?'
'Your mother decided to use divorce to make your father behave. Now, she's losing him to another woman.'
'Maybe not! I mean, my dad still loves my mom...'
'And my father still loves my mother; what's your point?'
'And there's a possibility that...'
Gohan stopped; he didn't want to think about Vegan dying...
She was the closest thing to family his father had outside of them.
When his father died, Vegan said she felt like she'd lost a child.
Dad always liked hearing Vegan talk about her and Raditz's childhood and sayain legends.
He would be devastated if Vegan died, not to mention the child she was carrying.
They didn't ask for anything of this...
'There's a possibility Vegan goes back Bloomer...'
'Isn't he marrying his ex-girlfriend? And Vegan doesn't strike me as the type of person who'd forgive infidelity.'
Gohan looked at Vegan as she and Eighteen went inside.
'She forgave my dad. And she and Bloomer have a son-'
'That doesn't equal love, Gohan.' She looked at him. 'You can't fix your parents.'
****
Yamcha didn't see why they had to stay; Trunks and Bloomer's parents were expected to be there, not them.
She wanted them to do things as a family, but not her party.
Bloomer insisted that he needed set Vegan straight about whatever she said.
Everyone was there, even Chi Chi...
Oh, she looked so miserable...
She did feel bad for her friend, but she'd been in Chi Chi's shoes.
And she was not willing to switch back; 7 long years of waiting for Vegan to screw it up.
And boy did she!
Yamcha believed that she was a fool for not fighting for him when Vegan was pregnant with Trunks.
They could have made it work; Bloomer even proclaimed it! He was even willing to forgive her for cheating on him, but she couldn't be the one responsible for a child growing up in a broken home.
And now...
Now all of her dreams were coming true! They were back together and getting married.
'There's Chi Chi.' She muttered quietly as Trunks dashed away.
'Trunks!' Bloomer barked after him. 'Trunks!'
'He's probably just going to find Goten.'
'Bloomer,' said Dr. Briefs, 'this can wait until-'
'No, I need to do this now.' He flared.
'I'm going to talk to Chi-Chi.' Yamcha said quickly.
Yamcha rushed over to Chi-Chi; she was sitting with the dad, stabbing her food.
'Hey.'
'Hello.'
'I didn't know that you were coming.'
'I wasn't.' She said as she looked at Goku. 'I just wanted to see Goku.'
'Has he spoken to you?'
'Earlier.'
'Has Vegan loosened her grasp on him?' Yamcha asked quickly. 'When she was pregnant with Trunks, we could hardly get a moment alone.'
'He stopped talking to me when Goten told him about the party we had.'
'Oh.'
'I want my life back.' Chi Chi Sobbed.
Yamcha didn't know what to say; what could she say?
She knew from experience; nothing could make her feel better.
'I'll go get you some food.'
Goten did miss his dad and didn't understand why he couldn't see him anymore.
He knew Gohan would sneak off to see him and wished Gohan would let him come along too...
But he knew Gohan was probably worried about mom finding out.
Why was mom acting like this?
She said divorced means moms and dads aren't married and don't live anymore, but they're still family.
Trunks told him it's when your parents don't love each other anymore.
She always yells at him and dates other men; maybe she doesn't love him anymore.
Goten knew that his dad and Vegan were having a baby, and he didn't like it, but...
Well, he didn't quite understand where babies came from, but Goten did learn from Videl and Gohan when they studied health in high school that drinking too much alcohol makes people do things that they wouldn't usually do.
Weirdly, he's not having a baby with his mom, but at least it wasn't some wicked witch with a poisoned apple or a house made of sweets.
He was angry about the tournament just like everyone else, but Gohan said he could move past it because anyone could have succumbed- whatever that meant- to Bobbidi.
A dark heart didn't automatically imply that said heart is evil.
He said even the purest of hearts can draw to the darkness.
Doubt can make a heart dark.
So can fear and anger.
Sadness and loneliness.
'Bobbidi used the pain in Vegan's past to tempt her.' He said quietly.
'Dad didn't fall for it.'
'Dad hasn't been through what she has. Vegan's been terrorized her whole life by a monster, and dad saved her.'
'Is that why she wants to have his baby?'
'Maybe.' Gohan replied stiffly. 'Sayains were always a small people, and she is a princess-like mom. You remember when dad first got back, grandpa always asked mom when they were having another baby. Maybe her dad was like that with her.'
'Oh. I wish mom and dad were having a baby.'
'Me, too.'
'And Vegan could die, right?'
'Right.'
'Then why is she doing it?'
'Sayains aren't afraid of dying...'
'Why does she want another baby?'
'Vegan might feel like it's a chance to start over at being a mom.'
'Why?'
'She probably thinks Trunks wasn't like her anymore.'
'He told me him that he hated her.'
'He's just angry.'
'He's trying to hurt her.'
'How do you know?'
'Fusion. We feel each other's feelings.'
'I didn't know that.'
'Dad fused with Vegan; maybe he feels what she feels.'
'Maybe...'
'Dad said that he would try to save her. Do you think he can?'
'Yeah.'
'Do you think mom should have said yes to dad asking her to take care of the baby with her?'
'Yes.'
'Why?'
'Well, dad does care about Vegan, he might even have a crush on her, but he loves mom...'
'Ok.'
'But, mom isn't there with them, and I feel if they keep living together alone...'
'They might get kissy like you and Videl.'
Gohan nodded and quickly went back to his homework.
He didn't like talking about Videl anymore...
Something else Goten didn't like...
Goten looked Vegan; she didn't look as pretty as she usually did.
She looked tired and pale, and her ki low, he could barely feel her, only felt their-
Wait... their ki?
It's two ki energies... two babies...
Did dad know?
Did Vegan know?
How can she have two babies?
One of the babies was stealing from her the other.
'What's wrong?' Marron's tiny voice asked from behind him.
'Vegan has two babies.' He said quietly as he turned to her.
'Mommy said that... but it's a secret.'
'One of them is hurting Vegan and the other baby.'
Her blue eyes widened as she looked at Vegan. 'I don't think mommy knows.
'Maybe-'
'MOMMY!' She shrieked.
'I'm going to tell my dad.'
Goku thought it would be best if he just stayed away from Chi Chi.
He didn't want to risk doing or saying anything that caused her to take the boys again.
Goten clung to him all day, never wanting to leave his side.
'Do you think mom will let us spend the night here?'
'I don't know,' he hugged him tightly, 'I just don't know... mom's different these days...'
'I wish it was how it used to be.'
'Me too... but Vegan and I are having baby, I have to take care of them.'
'But, why can't you take care of mom, too!'
'Why can't you?' Chi Chi choked as she approached them. 'I'm your wife, not her!'
'Goten.' He squatted down to his level.
'Yes?'
'If you do something, whether it's breaking something or getting someone pregnant, or,' he threw a stabbing glare at her, 'packing up and breaking the hearts of the people you claim to love-'
'Goku-'
'You have to take responsibility for it. You do understand what I'm doing, right?'
'I do.' Goten said quietly. 'I just wish we were still living together. I don't want you to forget about Gohan and me when Vegan has her babies.'
'Vegan is on having one baby.' Goku said quietly.
'No, she's got two ki levels along with her own.'
'What?' Chi Chi barked.
'Vegan is having two babies.' Goten said. 'One is stronger than the other.'
Goku paused, seeking out Vegan's ki, and found two weaker ones.
Two babies?! Vegan is having twins?!
Goku put his fingers on his forehead. 'I have to find Vegan.'
****
Yamcha scurried inside; she sensed Vegan's energy and heard Eighteen's voice.
She suppressed her energy, not wanting to deal with them.
Vegan has never been friendly, and Eighteen could be pretty vicious when she needed to.
'Vegan,' she heard Eighteen's voice say quickly as she entered the living room, 'I must insist that you tell Bloomer.'
'And I must disagree.'
'Vegan.' Eighteen called as footsteps entered the kitchen. 'Just wait a minute.'
'No, I don't want him near me.' Vegan's voice muttered quietly.
'Vegan-'
'I already feel awful; he'd make things worse for the children and me.'
'He has the right to know.'
Who were they talking about? Yamcha wondered.
'And I have the right to keep myself and my children safe. Bloomer finding out will only complicate things.'
Ha! The princess screwed up again! Yamcha thought as she hid behind the couch.
She screwed up again and didn't want Bloomer to know...
But, she mentioned her children...?
Was she talking about Trunks and her baby?
'Vegan, you might need medical assistance, and I think that doctor you have is, well, an idiot.'
'He's trying his best, besides Kakarott, and I can't afford another doctor.'
'Do you have health insurance?'
'Uh... I don't know...'
'Does Goku?'
'I doubt it, but he has a bag of Senzu beans. I've never needed any til now. It seems to hurt so bad now.'
'Maybe it's your guilty conscience.'
'I don't want to hear about him.'
'Too bad, he's here.'
'Great.'
'I think Bloomer should know-'
'He made it very clear that he wanted nothing to do with me if I chose to have this baby.'
'That'll change once the guy realizes that you're carrying his kid!'
The front door opened and closed; Yamcha stood and found Vegan sitting on the couch.
She's sitting there acting all high and mighty!
'What are you doing?' Boomed Vegan's voice.
Yamcha jumped at the sound of her voice. She then turned and glared at Vegan, who stared at her expectantly.
'You're trying to trap-'
'You aren't allowed to speak to me!' Vegan snarled. 'Even in my weaken state, I can snap your back and neck like they were twigs.'
Yamcha didn't care; she'd die happy if everyone knew what kind of person Vegan was.
'You're ruining my friend's-'
'Your friend left her husband,' Vegan sighed as she rubbed her temples, 'why does everyone insist on omitting this from their memories?'
'If you hadn't told you him that he was the father then-'
'Then, what?' Vegan replied as she rubbed her stomach. 'They would be... what? Together again? No, Chi-Chi would be at her father's trying to manipulate him into becoming her little lapdog.'
'They could've gotten back together!'
'Until he used the wrong fork at the table or until he started training again...' Vegan scoffed. 'She only left him because she thought she could manipulate him.'
'She loves him! You ruined their relationship, just like you ruined mine!'
'You slept with another man, Yamcha.' Vegan said coldly. 'You ruined your relationship, a fact that you keep omitting from your memory.'
'I'll tell Goku!'
'He already knows.' She said casually.
She could be lying.
'And even if he didn't, he'd still insist on staying by my side until the baby is born.'
That part was true; he wouldn't abandon anyone in need.
'I'll tell Chi Chi-'
'It still won't erase the fact that we shared a night.' Vegan said casually. 'She'll never be able to get over it. Every night while they're in bed, she'll wonder who's he in his head... her... or me?'
'Bloomer did.' Yamcha said triumphantly.
Vegan laughed the same way she did when she invaded Earth.
'Has he?' Vegan replied as she raised an eyebrow. 'He's a bit more insatiable than you remember. Perhaps his stamina increased a bit as well, right? He last longer-'
'I'll tell Bloomer.' Yamcha flared, not wanting to hear anymore.
'Tell him what?' Vegan replied as she smirked. 'What exactly are you going tell him? If Kakarotto isn't the father, that only leaves one other person...'
Yamcha felt her heart skip a beat, and Vegan's smirk wiped into a cruel smile.
'What exactly are you going tell him?'
'It's- Bloomer- it won't change anything!' She shrieked. 'Bloomer proposed to me!'
'If my memory serves me right, there were talks of marriage the last time.'
'You... you're not going not- you can't do this!'
'I'm not going to.'
'I'm not-'
'You just keep your mouth shut, and I'll leave you and your relationship alone. You talk, and I will personally wreck your relationship.'
'There's no- just because you're having his baby won't mean he's going to break up with me! He didn't the last time. I chose to walk away. And he came back.'
'After eight years,' she said quietly, '8 long years... do you think you can hold out for 8? That's the rest of your attractive years.'
Yamcha stared at her, then stomped out of the house.
'Vegan?!' Bloomer growled as he stormed into the house.
Vegan turned to him, staring for a bit, then turned away.
'If you're here to start a fight-'
'What did you say to my son yesterday?'
'Don't.'
'What did you say?'
'You couldn't do this over the phone?'
'What did you say?'
'Does it matter?'
'He came home upset-'
'He's quite upset these days-'
'What did say to make him angry?'
'He's angry about the tournament, his classmates, the two of us! A lot of things.'
'What about us?'
'Things that cannot be changed.'
'Like what?'
'Nothing, but him pouting like a brat definitely won't change anything.'
'He probably doesn't like you living here!'
'Well, that's going to be a problem.'
'Why?'
'I like leaving here.'
'Your son doesn't!' He growled.
'Well, where else am I supposed to go?'
'You could have stayed with Eighteen.'
'I can't impose on them anymore.' She said quietly. 'Besides, Kakarotto wants to be a part of the pregnancy. I think it's guilt over not being there for Goten.'
'You could have... came back to-'
'I don't think-'
'Think of Trunks for once!'
'What would he think if he found me one morning crying and bleeding out because of a miscarriage?'
That would be a terrifying sight for him to see, but all the more reason...
'Dad could-'
'I don't want to live in that house with you and her.'
This was the first time she's expressed any emotions about his relationship with Yamcha.
Was she refusing help for her unborn child because of petty jealousy?
The thought made him want to smile.
'Don't let you're jealous-'
'If I were jealous, she'd be dead.' She said finally. 'Besides, I think it's your upcoming nuptials he's sour about...'
He glared at her as she went into the kitchen; he sat down on the sofa.
'You had no right to tell him!'
'I thought his father told him!'
He wanted to ask about the ring; instead, he asked, 'How did you find out?'
'Does it matter?'
'Yes!'
She sighed and rubbed her temples. 'You used to talk about marrying her before; it wasn't hard to figure out.'
'Did Goku tell you?'
'What?'
'Did Goku tell you?'
'Didn't you just hear me!'
'What did you say?'
'Of course, you didn't hear me!'
'What did you say?' Asked Bloomer, rolling his eyes.
'You don't listen!'
'What did you say?'
'You never listen!'
'WHAT DID YOU SAY!' He screamed.
'Don't get angry at me because you didn't listen!'
'My God, Vegan! You always bitch at me about the same shit-'
'Because you keep doing the same shit! It's a never-ending cycle!'
'You know what, I don't give a shit!' Bloomer barked. 'Don't tell me.'
Vegan turned away, looking out the window, staring at Eighteen and Yamcha.
'Good, I'm not repeating myself.'
'Well, she and I are getting married.'
'When?'
'As soon as possible.' He said smugly.
'Tomorrow?'
'No!'
'Then you're not getting married as soon as possible.'
'We're going to get married when we're ready.'
'You could have a wedding planned by tomorrow if you wanted to.'
'We don't want to!'
'I'm sure Yamcha disagrees.'
'I want everything to be perfect!'
'You're marrying the woman you love, right?'
'Yes! I've never stopped loving her!'
Vegan glanced over at him for a second, and Bloomer thought she might say something about what he said.
But she turned back to the window in silence, watching Eighteen play with Marron, rubbing her stomach as she did.
'Then it's already is perfect...'
She portrayed no emotion; she was good at that...
'You're pretty small, doesn't Goku feed you?'
'He feeds me just fine.'
'Then why are you so small!'
'Because I'm not hungry.'
When she was pregnant with Trunks, she had an average appetite of a woman...
Whatever normal is for a sayain woman...
'What are you having?'
'Don't know.'
'Why don't you know?'
'We want to be surprised.'
That shity doctor probably doesn't know.
'When are you due?'
'Couple's day.'
'Couple's day...? You mean...?'
'Valentine's day.'
Of course, it's valentine's day! Their perfect pureblood sayain child would be born on valentine's day.
He glared at Vegan, scowling at her indifference.
How could she stand there and act she didn't care?
Maybe she doesn't care.
The thought left a bitter taste in his mouth; he needed a drink.
'Of course, it is.'
'What do you want, Bloomer?'
She sounded like she was annoyed; this, in turned annoyed Bloomer.
'To tell you I'm getting married.'
She turned to him, handing on her stomach. 'And here I thought you were here for Trunks.'
Bloomer's face heated up, and they looked away; coming to this party was a mistake.
'Vegan.' Goku's voice suddenly chirped next to him.
The sound of his voice made Bloomer want to vomit.
Goku rushed to Vegan and held by her brachium; she looked startled and confused.
'Kakarotto, what-'
'Vegan, I-' he stopped and stared at Bloomer. 'We can talk later.'
'No,' Bloomer flared, 'you have news, why don't you share with your guests!'
'Bloomer-'
He rushed outside, followed by Goku and Vegan. 'Everyone! Goku and Vegan have something important to tell us!'
Everyone looked at the happy couple with uneasiness as Vegan edged behind Goku.
'Go on!' Bloomer barked.
'Bloomer,' Yamcha said quietly, 'maybe we should go.'
'Not until the loving couple shares their joyous news.'
Goku and Vegan exchange a glance, then look at every one. 'We're having... twins.' Vegan muttered weakly.
Everyone exchanged a glance between themselves, then turned to them.
'Nice shooting, Rex.' Hiccups Roshi.
Bloomer turned to them, his eyes shooting hate at Goku.
Twins?! They were having twins?! Bloomer thought as everyone crowded around Vegan and Goku, congratulating them.
He stormed over to the punch bowl; he begrudgingly dumped some punch into a jar, praying that it was spiked.
****
Goku stared at Vegan; she stared at Trunks, who refused to meet her gaze.
This was probably not how she wanted Trunks to know...
Why did Bloomer even come?
'Kakarotto,' Vegan muttered quietly to him as they watched Bloomer guzzle down yet another helping of punch, 'after the party, we need to talk.'
'About the twins?' He said quickly.
'Yes. There are some things I need to explain...'
'Ok, but just sit.' He said, leading her to a table. 'Your ki is low.'
'I'm fine, just winded.'
He sat next to her, rubbing her hand, 'Are you ok? Do you want a senzu bean?'
'I'm fine; I just need something to nibble on.'
'Ok, ok, just... I'll be right back.'
'May I have everyone's attention, please!' Bloomer slurred as he held his punch in his hand.
'Bloomer, stop.' Chided Dr. Briefs.
'Bloomer, please.' Mrs. Briefs said quietly.
'I would like to say something to the happy couple!' Screeched a drunken Bloomer.
'Boo,' Yamcha whispered, 'don't.'
'I just want to say thank you!' He said as he raised his glass. 'By knocking her up, Goku, you've freed me from having to deal with her shit for the next ten years.'
'Still think he deserves to know?' Vegan muttered quietly as she turned to Bloomer.
'No more of her selfishness, whining, and disregard for people's feelings!'
Goku looked at Trunks; he looked like he'd rather be anywhere else...
'I think it's time to go...' said Dr. Briefs.
'My only regret is that I stayed so long and wasted the last seven years being sick to my stomach because of her! But she's your problem now! Thanks.'
Vegan put her head in her hands, Goku held her in his arms. 'It's okay, Vegan. I'll take care of you.'
'I want to go inside.'
'I thought that you wanted something to eat.' Goku said quietly as they stood. 'Are you okay?'
'No.'
'What's wrong?'
'I don't feel so good.'
There was blood on her dress and running down legs...
'EIGHTEEN!' He screamed.
Eighteen rushed over to them; everyone turned to them. 'What's wrong?! What happened?'
'I'm fine.' She said dismissively as Eighteen and Goku led her inside.
'Maybe the doctor can examine her...' Eighteen muttered as everyone rushed inside.
'I'll take her upstairs.' Goku scooped her up bridal style.
'I'm not a piece of meat,' Vegan replied sharply as she wriggled out of his arms, 'I am perfectly capable of-'
She nearly hit the ground face-first if Tien hadn't caught her.
'Vegan, you're weak...' Eighteen said quickly.
'She hasn't been eating...' Goku said.
'Vegan, when was the last time you ate something?' Asked Dr. Briefs.
'Two maybe three days ago.'
'For God's sake, Goku!' Bloomer growled. 'You're not-'
'She's not your problem anymore!' Goku barked as he sat Vegan. 'You're free now!'
He did this!
'Kiss my ass!' Bloomer barked back.
'Let's just go upstairs, Kakarotto.'

The party seemed to die after Vegan's episode; after Goku gave her a senzu bean, both he and Bloomer insisted that she lie down.
Things just got worse from there.
'Vegan, please just go upstairs.' Goku pleaded.
'No, no. I'm not tired.' She protested.
'Not tired?! Vegan, please! You're stumbling around like a drunk.' Bloomer flared, holding a cup of coffee.
'You'd know.' Goku said sharply.
'Excuse me?!' Bloomer growled as he turned to him.
'You heard-'
'Stop that!' Flared Chi Chi. 'Now's not the time for this!'
'Kakarotto...'
'Vegan,' Goku said quietly as he touched her face, 'please. Think of the children.'
'I want to stay down here.' She groaned. 'It is my party.'
'I'll throw you another party.'
Bloomer muttered something about throwing her a better party, Goku ignored him.
'I want to stay downstairs and to talk to people.'
'I'll stay upstairs and talk to you.'
'I want to talk to other people too.'
'Ok, just go upstairs, and we'll-'
'She doesn't want to talk to you! No one wants to talk to you!' Bloomer barked.
'Like she wants to talk to you!' Goku barked back, taking her by her hand and waist and leading her away. 'You've been treating her like something you wipe your feet on since the tournament; you don't let her see Trunks! Throwing a temper tantrum all because she refuses to have an abortion-'
'Because they're killing her!' Bloomer growled bitterly. 'She could die-'
'That little stunt you just pulled could have killed her! Did you think about that!' Goku boomed; his voice made the house shake.
Bloomer glared at him then glanced at Vegan; she turned away.
'When do you ever think about somebody other than yourself!'
'Are you kidding me!' Bloomer growled. 'You abandoned your family for seven years, and now you think you can destroy mine-'
'Vegan isn't your family anymore! She doesn't want you!' Goku howled. 'You're the only person who refuses to accept it! Whatever feelings she might've had for you are long gone. You ruined your own family! You are jumping into bed with Yamcha-'
Bloomer shoved him, and Goku, who let go of Vegan, punched him in the jaw—knocking Bloomer flat on his back.
'Kakarotto!' Vegan shrieked; she started to go to him when Goku grabbed her wrist. 'Kakarotto-'
They vanished.

'Kakarotto!' Vegan snarled when they appeared on Odayaka. She turned to him and slapped him sharply when she whirled around to face him. 'Have you gone mad?!'
'Yes!' His fist was still balled, trembling.
Vegan stared at the usually calm man vibrating with rage.
'Why did you bring me here?' She asked while watching him.
'Peaceful.' He said as he sat down on a nearby boulder. 'Plus, no one else knows how to get here.' Vegan looked at Goku for a moment, then sat next to him. 'The way he and Chi-Chi are acting... they act like they're the only ones hurting!'
Vegan put her hand on his shoulder but said nothing.
Goku glanced over at her; he wished he could be like Vegan. She'd always been better than him at adjusting, no matter what it was.
'How do you feel?'
'About what?'
'About all of this.'
'How do you feel?'
'How do I feel?' He repeated quietly. 'I feel like I've been abandoned. I feel like... like I don't need her. If Chi-Chi cared about me, then she would have never left me.'
'Kakarotto, you don't mean that-'
'But that's the truth! If she loved me, she'd be accepting of my shortcomings. It's the same with Bloomer! If he truly cared, he could have forced himself to move past it! Or at least told you that he didn't want to be with you!'
He looked to the pink sky; the birds were pretty.
'They don't care about us; Chi Chi's never asked me how I felt about all this! I worry about them dying all the time and no one-' he stopped and turned away to her. 'Has Bloomer ever asked how you feel about your children dying?'
'No.'
'Vegan, they don't care about us. You were right; us against them.'
'So it seems.'
'No matter what we do, they won't let us spend time with our sons. The stress could kill you and the babies, and don't- we should forget about them. Just focus on the babies until they come to their senses.'
Vegan stared at him for a bit, then slowly nodded. 'Fine. I need to tell you something. The babies... only one is yours, the other...'
'I'll take care of them... Bloomer, he's,' Goku stopped '... I'll take care of you.'
'You always do.'
'We're all we have.'
