The End of the Wizengamot?
Dear readers, it is my sworn duty to bring you the truth, even when it may overturn your very worldview.
Today's story certainly fills this category.
First, a brief history lesson for those of us who were not alive then...
The wizarding world was once ruled by royalty. A long line of Kings and Queens ruled, from the house of Emrys. (For more see pages 3-5)
The last ruling King, Merlin himself, had a son, Taliesin, who was killed before he could take up his father's place as King.
Now as Taliesin (See page 4) was the last of his line, there was no one left to rule our fair populace. And so the Wizengamot was formed. And it was written in the declaration of government that in the event of Lady Magic herself declaring a new heir to the House of Emrys, that Witch or Wizard would take up rule and reign of the kingdom.
Dear readers, a press release was handed directly to me from the Minister of Magic's office first thing this morning. It reads thus.
The office of the Minister of Magic, Eugenia Jenkins, would like to announce Miss Myrrdin Lyrica Burke Emrys, Lady of the House of Emrys, and Magic's chosen Queen of the Wizarding World.
Lady Emrys would like to greet her new subjects and assure them that she has teams working around the clock to answer any questions and ensure that this transference of government goes as smoothly as possible. Any questions should be referred to the Department of Wizard Resources at the Ministery of Magic.
Who is this new Queen? Why are we just hearing of a possible Heir?
We have these questions and more, and I promise to find the answers.
