Summary/Disclaimer: Time for another chapter of The Lioness and the Wolf. Enjoy the 900-Word chapter. I don't own AGK, Takahiro, Square Enix and a few others do.
(Unknown Location)
"Anyway, let's go over the plan," Jace said while letting out a sigh. He leaned on the tree while Leone checked over her Tengu. Her appearance hadn't changed much, not as she seemed to notice.
"We board one of the ships, beach it. Then sneak aboard the Admiral's flagship in the meantime." Leone stated while Jace nodded and let out a hum. "Should I point out that nothing is stopping us? I mean, we could just try and board his flagship right away." Leone pointed out while Jace hummed and rolled his eyes.
"If we do that?" Jace questioned while patting his chest where his Tengu sat. "Then we have several hundred soldiers all over us. The distraction is supposed to cause him to divert soldiers. We can't rip through the rest through them like tissue paper. They have lots of guns, we do not have guns." Jace stated while cracking his neck.
"Then you just want to kill one guy and leave?" Leone questioned as Jace hummed and yawned. "Then what's going to happen to the rest of the soldiers?" Leone asked before Jace walked next to Leone.
"Those ships have gunpowder aboard," Jace said and ran his fingers over his arms. "I plan on setting some off and sinking that fleet to the bottom of the ocean," Jace stated and looked to the ground.
"Ah, so we're going to blow everything the hell up," Leone responded as Jace nodded while letting out a hum.
"Once we sink a good portion of the fleet?" Jace questioned before he looked at one of the three sail ships turned towards them. "We're going home," Jace stated before activating his Tengu and taking a few steps back.
"You might want to hop on," Jace stated as Leone slowly walked towards him. "Relax, I can swim all the time in this form," Jace said before Leone slowly climbed onto his back.
"Don't make me regret doing this." Leone said, a twinge of terror within her voice. It reminded Jace that Leone was part cat now.
Jace swore if the girl tried to claw him for swimming in a river that commonly had been traversed? He was going to flip his lid or such.
Jace sighed and shed his coat and his boots. He wanted to reach the ship as quickly as possible. Jace leaped into the water which made him shudder at how cold the water was.
Leone clung to his back tighter as Jace rolled his eyes. He took deep strokes through the waters. Jace wanted to reach to slip aboard it. They'd kill the soldiers aboard that crew it. Jace knew for a fact that they'd try and kill them.
"Climb aboard," Jace said before digging his claws into the hull of the ship. Jace knew for a fact that this wouldn't be the first time Leone got scared.
Still? He had the assignment to do. Jace was going to get his mission down. Jace slowly climbed up, hand by hand. He knew this wouldn't be much of a stealth mission.
Jace hummed and reached up towards the edge of the ship. His hands slowly left holes in the wood of the hull.
"I hate this so damn much," Jace muttered to himself while pulling himself up slowly. "Leone, you there?" Jace questioned his partner. He looked down to see Leone clinging to the hull and looking up at him. Jace hummed and nodded before gesturing upward.
Leone dug her claws into the wood and slowly climbed up. She was far better than him at climbing.
'Then again? Cats are far better at climbing than dogs.' Jace thought to himself while he cracked his neck. Jace watched as she climbed next to him.
"What, seasick?" Jace whispered which caused Leone to swing at him. Jace chuckled only for her to glare at him.
Leone was going to give him hell when it came down to it. Jace sighed and looked around. He wanted to make sure he didn't leave anything out.
"We need to get up there and onto the deck." Jace pointed out to Leone who nodded. She began to scale the hull the way a giant feline would a tree. Jace had to keep himself from rolling his eyes.
"Ok, just climb that way, I guess," Jace muttered to himself while slowly climbing up again. He had to reach a position where he could attack the soldiers.
If they got spotted? It ruined the entire plan, and they'd end up slaughtered. Jace didn't enjoy the idea of being fed to a Danger Beast or such within the ocean. It did not bode well for him to consider it.
Jace finally pulled himself up and onto the deck of the ship. He quickly took cover behind a canon.
Jace looked around for Leone and hummed. He'd need her help to set up the ship to be beached.
Author Notes
Phew. Another chapter is done! I want to point out the fact that Jace and Leon are going to have issues fighting together. They will also have trouble making plans due to their different styles. The next chapter will end up being in a week and will show Jace and Leone fighting the crew and setting up the plan. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
