Summary/Disclaimer: Time for another chapter of The Lioness and the Wolf. Enjoy the 900-Word chapter. I don't own AGK, Takahiro, Square Enix and a few others do.
(Imperial Warship)
Jace and Leone shared a look. The admiral hadn't shown up… And Jace wasn't eager to attack people with rifles pointed at his skull.
"These aren't people I think we can take," Jace stated to Leone as both of them straightened up. "We need to fight them in a better way." Jace put in while he sighed. He cracked his fingers before looking at the soldiers.
Jace sighed and looked at the soldiers. They were probably not the best when it came down to it.
Jace did know they didn't have to be when it came down to shooting them. Jace hummed and rolled his eyes while Leone prepared to fight the soldiers.
"Leone…" Jace put in while he unlaced his claws and growled. "Can you keep them busy so I can sabotage the ship?" Jace questioned Leone who looked at all the soldiers.
Leone smiled at this while Jace hummed.
"Well?" Jace questioned with some hesitation. He wanted to strike and leave. There were far more than enough soldiers to kill them. "All the speed and strength in the world can't match gunfire," Jace stated and sprung forward.
The soldiers opened fire as Jace flipped into the air. He nailed one of them in the head with a punch that snapped the soldier's neck. He vanished over the railing.
Leone rolled her eyes before charging the reloading soldiers with a massive smile gracing her lips.
The soldiers rushed to meet her. Leone welcomed them claws first.
(With Jace)
Jace started to smash holes into the hole. He went after the gunpowder below the deck.
"If I destroy that?" Jace questioned himself with amusement. "Then it will rip the ship apart. Just like I wanted to." Jace stated and continued to scale around the hull.
He knew for a fact that he had a better chance of wiping out the ship… Then it's men. Jace needed a victory against the forces against the Imperial forces.
"Then all I have to deal with is escaping," Jace muttered to himself with annoyance.
Jace sighed and rolled his eyes at his folly. If they could escape the blast radius? Then they'd be fine.
"I never was good at thinking every step through to the last," Jace stated and punched a hole into the hull. He slowly started to climb into the hull.
Jace smashed in more of the hull, sending it splintering into the water below. Part of him wondered if others would ever find the remains of this fleet.
If anyone would find it? They'd discover nothing more than shattered remains and dead soldiers. He wanted to question his tactics.
"Still?" Jace questioned himself before swinging himself into the ship. "If I rip into the ship? Then we can end this." Jace added while the sound of gunshots.
Jace wondered if Leone was faring better against the emperor's men. Then again? She was an assassin who ended up not even being known to the empire. That meant something at the very least.
"I hope she doesn't get herself killed," Jace muttered to himself and started to look around. He sniffed the air before pushing aside a cannon.
He could smell more bombs. Jace just needed to know where each was so he could set one-off.
"Part of me wonders if the Admiral is still as arrogant as before," Jace said before rolling his eyes at his statement.
It was quite clear to him that the admiral was not learning from before…. Then again? The resistance never put much stock into the war on the waves. Jace remembered how many secret passages had been set up to circumvent the Imperial Army and their troops.
"I do question why he was set up as the naval commander." Jace put in as he lifted a crate. He shook it slowly before more gunfire interrupted him.
"If that girl gets herself killed?" Jace asked himself while looking around. "Then I'm going to have a heartache," Jace muttered to himself with clear annoyance in his voice.
The round of gunfire was interrupted by shouts of pain and weapons being swung. Jace looked up at the boards over his head.
"Damn it," Jace muttered to himself with a roll of his eyes before smashing the crate on the ground. Jace looked at the grenades which rolled on the ground.
He smiled and leaned down to grab one of the objects. Jace hummed and picked up one of the grenades.
"Now how the hell are I'm going to end up trying to contact her?" Jace questioned himself and sighed before rubbing his temples.
He contemplated just throwing the explosive down and blowing most of the ship to hell. Jace sighed and questioned his thoughts.
"Oh, this is going to be a long day," Jace stated to himself and cracked his fingers.
Jace hummed and weighed his options at the moment.
