Summary/Disclaimer: Time for another chapter of The Lioness and the Wolf. Enjoy the 900-Word chapter. I don't own AGK, Takahiro, Square Enix and a few others do.
(Imperial Warship)
Leone continued to battle through the Imperial Soldiers. She elbowed one hard enough to crush his skull. Leone hummed which made Jace hum and crack his neck.
"Hey," Jace said before smashing one of the soldiers onto the deck. He flipped over the soldier and nodded at Leone.
"Sup, Jace?" Leone questioned before one of the soldiers fired at her. "How is the ship?" Leone questioned which made Jace hum.
Jace couldn't say anything, but he did smash one of the soldiers into the deck once more. He backflipped into the air and landed next to Leone.
Leone looked at Jace as the duo circled.
"If I set something off?" Jace asked Leone. "Then we'd get killed. I have a few bombs in my pocket. We need to get off the deck." Jace stated and flexed his hands with amusement.
Jace hummed and rolled his hands and looked around. Leone had killed a few more soldiers on the deck. Jace was surprised that none of them had decided to desert the ship.
He'd be impressed if they weren't members of the former empire. Jace knew many of these soldiers were monsters. Only a few were unaffected by the Empire's corruption.
"So, do we have a backup plan?" Leone questioned Jace who pursed his lips. "You didn't think this ahead that much, did you?" Leone asked Jace who glared at his partner.
If he told the truth? Jace didn't entirely have a plan for getting this far. His plan was simply to detonate the ship and take the Admiral out. Getting into a drag-out fight with the rest of the crew? That wasn't part of his plan.
Plus, Jace knew they simply couldn't kill off dozens of soldiers. They outnumbered the duo and sooner or later one of them would get a lucky shot. This wasn't a situation they could simply fight their way out of.
"I'll think of something," Jace stated to Leone and clenched his claws. "But we aren't fighting our way out of this. There are way too many soldiers to fight by ourselves." Jace put in and sighed.
Leone looked like a canine on a leash. She wanted to fight, to rip the imperial soldiers to bits with her bare hands.
But he could see that Leone was slightly weighing her odds of fighting the soldiers off.
"Do you think you can blow this ship up in 2 or 3 minutes?" Leone questioned which made Jace raise an eyebrow at this.
"What are you planning?" Jace questioned which Leone smirked at him. This was enough to make him give pause.
Jace hummed and cracked his neck with annoyance. He knew Leone was going to do something insane or over the top,
Still? It wasn't like he couldn't talk Leone out of it. And by the time he managed to come up with a new plan? It would be far too late to do anything when it came down to it.
"What's your idea then?" Jace asked, a trace of frustration in his tone as he knew something bad would happen.
But if it was only bad for the Empire? Jace felt like he could live with that. The sooner the empire was dismantled? The sooner this war ended when it came down to it.
"I'll clear a path down to the gundeck." Leone put in as Jace hummed. "You throw one of the bombs in, we throw ourselves off the ship and get away," Leone added which made Jace say nothing.
He couldn't say anything anyway. The sooner they blew up the ship? The sooner they ended the threat at sea.
Plus, anything they did at this moment? It wasn't exactly more dangerous than standing around and waiting to get shot.
"Fine," Jace responded and rushed forward. He kicked off a soldier who was busy trying to slash him.
Jace dove into 2 more soldiers and tackled them to the ground. He turned to look around at Leone.
Leone nodded and charged into the group of soldiers who were busy trying to cut down Jace.
Jace stuck close to Leone. She was the more durable of the duo as opposed to his speed being superior to hers.
"This is a ridiculous plan," Jace muttered as quietly as possible. Jace watched Leone smirk at him which caused him to sigh.
Jace unsheathed his claws and caught the sword of one of the soldiers. Jace hummed and continued to run, pushing the soldier backward with his palm.
He gave the soldiers no more than a few looks to determine if he had to fight them or had a clear shot.
Jace blinked over his shoulder. Leone was busy knocking soldiers back and forth. She looked like a force of nature.
Jace didn't pause to look at her which helped him.
Author Notes
Phew. Another chapter is done! I want to point out Jace and Leone's friendship and such will grow slowly. The next chapter will be in 2-10 weeks and will so the end of the sea siege arc. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
