…No Hard Feelings…
I breathe a sigh of relief as I walk into my room with Elizabeth at my heels. My hand is still red from slapping Blaise and run it under cold water to see if that helps which it doesn't. I groan and flop onto my bed. Elizabeth whines and paces next to my bed. I roll to the side and hold my hand out. She pads over and I pet her. "Why are boys so irritating?" I ask. "What boy made you so upset?" mum asks from the doorway, and I jump. "No one." I mumble looking away. "Sure! Do you want to help me unpack some of the new ingredients we just got in?" she asks. I nod and hop out of bed.
"There at the restaurant so change and meet me at the car in 20." She gives me a side hug before going to change. I take a quick shower and am at the car in 15. I jump in the car and dad comes out with Elizabeth. Mum comes down with a box and puts it in the trunk. It doesn't take long to reach the restaurant but when we get there, I note some of the staff are bringing boxes in. Mum takes me into the kitchen while dad takes Elizabeth to the vet. There's a giant monkfish in the corner right next to a crate of puffer fish. I wash my hands diligently while mum opens the box.
She pulls out an apron and a set of professional knives. "Come check out your gift." She smiles. I gape in shock and hurry over being careful not to run into anyone. I take in the knife set my fingers hovering inches above each one. "Is Cassie helping us with the shipment?" one of the chefs asks pulling out his mezzaluna. Mum nods. "Can I take notes to send to Mere?" I ask. "Better yet you can send her the trial dishes with the notes." Mum smirks. I take in every word the chefs say when they go through each item.
We go over the meats and seafood first. My first lessons are in alligator, elk, ostrich, bison, Kobe beef, python, puffer fish, tarantulas, frog legs, monkfish, skate, and sea lampreys. It takes a while for my taste buds to get used to each one, but my favorite is surprisingly the bison. They let me choose the next box. I walk around them trying to discern what each box contains with just my sense of smell. I choose the box with Casu martzu, hakarl, snake wine, and limburger cheese. I'm partial to the snake wine but mum quickly takes my glass. The last box contains fruit.
Ackee, durian, buddha's hand, wood apple, jackfruit, ice cream bean, pineberries, rambutan, witch finger grapes, and horned melon. I am sent with dad's right-hand chef and sous chef to start making trial dishes. we quickly find out that I have mastered butchering animals, so they task me with butchering and prepping the vegetables, fruits, and herbs. In an hour we have over 85 trial dishes for the rest of the staff to taste. Dad returns and talks on the side with the other two to check my progress. I stare at the ingredients thinking with one hand on my hip and a finger tapping my lips.
"What's eating you?" one of the servers asks. "I was wondering which bones would pair with which for a bone broth using the snake wine." I murmur. I chop the bones I've chosen and put them in a large pot with some snake wine, water, and salt. While that's going, I experiment with the fruit. I like the pineberries, but I love the ice crem bean. The notes for Meredith are complete so I get a large food sample box from the supply closet and count how many rows I have to work with. I count 125 so that's how many dishes I have to make, and I have to make enough for our friends to try some too. When I'm done, I clap my hands together.
There's everything from amuse bouchées to mini desserts. I add pictures of the ingredients included to really freak them out then include pictures of me next to the monkfish and skate. Mum and dad have ordered the staff too vote on their favorites so the recipe can be altered for public consumption. I sneak some ice cream beans when mum's not looking. She frowns as she turns around to me stuffing my face. "They're really delicious." I try to act ashamed, but they're divine especially with the witch finger grapes. Dad pries my hands from the box. The bone broth is done so I try a sip and mix it with some leftover rice from an earlier dish.
I shriek loudly and hold the spoon out for dad to try. after one bite he moves me out of the way and starts inhaling the rice and broth. "Mum!" I complain. Mum hurries over and dad holds the spoon out. I explain what I did at dad's nudge and mum's eyes go wide. This is so delicious!" she gasps. Everyone digs in despite the full day of trying the foods then experimenting with them. thankfully I used the biggest pot I could find. There's enough for everyone to get a fourth bowl. "We have to serve this. Especially in the winter." The sous chef smiles and pats his stomach making everyone laugh.
Once everything is cleaned up and put away, we pick Elizabeth up from the vet and head home. Mere's owl Lilith waits at the window with a letter from her. I scribble a quick reply while mum and dad fasten the gift box to the owl. I secure the response and Lilith takes off a bit awkward at first but soon she's flying no problems. I keep the window open watching until I can no longer see her. I close the window with a sigh.
I'm prepping the ingredients when dad's right hand chef approaches. "Hey Cassie! Are you ok? You seem a bit down." she frowns. "I'm fine. something irritating just keeps popping into my mind." I give my head a gentle shake. She waves her hands in a 'tell me more' motion. "This evil snake bastard at school keeps kissing me." I grumble. Her mouth drops open and I nod. "Stole my first kiss and I was so upset I stayed in my room for two months. The teachers sent a few upperclassmen in to physically drag me out 'to rejoin society' and all that jazz." I scoff.
I reduce the various seafood into paste with my rage as my power source. "The worst part is everyone who knows keep saying that I like him just as much as he likes me which is complete and utter bullshit!" I huff. She stares at me obviously fighting the smile tugging at her lips. "What do they say?" she winks. "Things like 'How was the kiss?', 'Did you kiss him back?', and 'Is he a good kisser?'. It's really frustrating. He even tried to kiss me before I left for the holidays just because we were under mistletoe." I pout. "Did you kiss him?" she nudges me. "Of course not. I slapped him so hard you could see my handprint from over 200 meters away." I state proudly.
"Cassie! Aren't you afraid of getting in trouble?" she gasps. I shrug indifferently. "The first time he kissed me, the time he stole my first kiss, I kneed him in the groin and kicked him several times. Not to mention, mum and dad sent me some ingredients which included citrus vodka, sake, and rice wine. I gave I to the kitchen staff to put in the food for dinner. I got detention but the staff raved about the meal for weeks." I give her a thumbs up. She walks away laughing and I go back to work feeling like a weight's been lifted.
After the lunch rush I help mum and her pâtissiers with the fresh baked goods. Mum gives me free reign to experiment, so I do a recipe I've been bending over backwards to try. I work on a mashed fruit sauce with snake wine. When the timer dings, I take the cake out of the oven and let it cool on the rack. Dad sneaks over and I shoo him back to his station. I hum to myself as I work. One of the regulars that sits at the bar where you can see into the kitchen sniffs the air appreciatively and I chuckle quietly. I take the cooled cake out of the mold and place it just into her line of sight. I get down at eye level and give the cake a gentle boop with my fingertip.
It jiggles and she stares open mouthed. "Mum! The jiggly cheesecake is done." I call straightening up. I dust it with a powdered sugar mixture that has edible gold and glitter in it giving the cake a snowy and sparkly finish. The customer points the cake out to the server. The server walks in with a smile. "There's an order for that cake Cassie." She giggles then her eyes widen. I cut a slice and add the mashed fruit sauce with a mint leaf. The cheesecake jiggles on the plate and in the light, it looks like it's dancing. She takes it cautiously to the customer while mum and dad try a slice too.
To say the customers like the cake would be an understatement. We get several orders for the cake for Christmas day and nearly twice as many for work end of the year parties. I make sure to make another cake for the staff to try after work. Some of the servers are getting tired during the dinner rush so I whip up some white chocolate and peppermint mochas for them to drink. With the pick me up and the jiggly cheesecake the happy atmosphere triples until the entire restaurant is a glow with a warm family feeling. Dad takes a break from cooking and goes into the dining area uncovering the grand piano.
He plays soft background music that relaxes even the fussiest child. Every customer leaves with a bright smile on their face. After the last customer leaves, I fix the staff some rice and broth and then give them a big piece of jiggly cheesecake. "Where'd you pick this recipe up at Cassie?" the sous chef asks taking a sip of coffee. "When we visited Japan. I think I want to try to make all the different sweets and treats from every country." I smile.
I wrap up the jiggly cheesecake and sauce, so it won't get damaged on the trip to school. Elizabeth whines at my feet and I give her bone to gnaw on. "I'll be back in a few months Elizabeth." I promise. "Maybe try not to get anymore detentions this term, use the food we send you to experiment on your classmates, or upset your teachers. If I receive one more complaint letter from your teachers, I won't let you use your new knife set for a year." Mum crosses her arms and frowns in total seriousness. I shiver and nod.
I trek carefully up to the castle. Meredith squeals delightedly when she sees me. I hold my hand out to show I'm carrying sensitive items. She gasps and hurries inside waiting inside the Great Hall like an excited puppy. Astoria and Luna sigh in disbelief. "Isn't she older than you technically?" Astoria asks. "Yep, you can't tell by her actions, but she's a whole two hours older." I roll my eyes. We hurry inside laughing and place the goody box on the table. Fleur, Marietta, and Cho wander over sniffing the air appreciatively. I finally spot who I'm looking for.
I wave professor McGonagall over. "I wanted to apologize for my actions last term, so I baked the staff a cheesecake." I smile and take the lid off the box. The cheesecake jiggles all the way up to the staff table and doesn't stop until a minute after it's sets down. I motion for them to add the sauce. Mere tugs at my shirt and I unbox the second cheesecake and cut my friends a slice with sauce. Mere pokes her slice repeatedly until I scold her. "It's scrummy!" she mumbles around a mouthful of cake. I shake my head with a small smile and take a seat. "How'd you like the trial dishes?" I wonder. Ginny goes still and the other three freeze.
"What? What happened?" I feel a chill. "Well, you know that snake bastard you were going on and on about last term. Well, let's just say he was really curious, and I let him try some too and may have answered some questions he had about you." Mere chuckles nervously. I force a smile. "You'd better be lucky mum told me not to cause trouble this term or I'd whip your sorry tail right here and now." I laugh. Mere scoots down the table with her cake. I pull out my thermal of rice and broth and eat some to warm up. Fleur takes a bite and ends up eating with me.
She flags down her headmistress and they begin talking excitedly in French. The headmistress goes up to the staff table where she talks animatedly with Dumbledore. Flitwick joins in and I turn upon feeling an all too familiar stare. Blaise is staring at me with hungry eyes, and I look down glaring at the table. "Just how much did you tell that bastard, Mere?" I growl through gritted teeth. She laughs and scoots further away. Cho and Marietta smirk and Fleur gives a sad shake of her head. "Do tell your sister what you told him! She'll only get madder the longer you stall." Ginny giggles. I place a saran wrapped parcel in front of each of them.
"I'm going to unpack since no one wants to tell me the truth." I pout. Meredith opens her mouth, but I unwrap her parcel and shove it in her mouth. Her eyes widen in shock but then she munches quietly away on the new treat, a cotton candy ice cream burrito. I slide out of my winter jacket as I climb the stairs. I roll my head from side to side trying to relieve some stress. "If you need some stress relief I can help." Blaise's voice comes from behind. I sigh heavily and keep walking.
"That slap really hurt you know. It took three days for the handprint to go away." He continues. He's nearly caught up with me. "Your sister told me the most interesting things about you while you were gone. You're much more intriguing and wilder than I originally thought." Blaise wraps an arm around me and whispers in my ear. I squirm and groan. I don't need to turn around and look at him to know he's smiling; I can hear it in his voice.
"Did you miss me? I get the feeling you were thinking about me a lot over the break." He twirls a strand of my hair around a finger. "Would you lay off of me!" I grumble trying to push him back, but his hold is too strong. He spins me around and backs me against the wall effectively pinning me. "I missed you baby bird." He whispers softly his lips brushing mine. He tilts my face and kisses me. his hands cup my face keeping me from turning away. Something nags at the back of my consciousness. I wrap my arms around him and kiss him back.
He smirks and deepens the kiss. We break apart panting heavily. "So, you did miss me." he smirks. "I hate your fucking guts you bastard." I growl. "That's not what that kiss just said. You missed me so much it pained you to be away from me." he chuckles. I slap his hands away. "I didn't miss you, don't miss you, will never miss you. I just went momentarily insane." I scoff. "Well, then please. Go insane often. That kiss was worth following you. Almost as divine as that dinner you set up last term with the citrus vodka." His lips find mine again.
I can tell he's let his guard down. I bring my knee up to his groin and hit it repeatedly. "Stop it." I repeat with every hit. He curls up on the ground in pain. I wipe my mouth the back of my hand and storm off. I feel better by dinner mostly because Blaise isn't in attendance. Astoria makes her way over when her sister whispers something in her ear. "So, I saw Blaise follow you earlier. What happened there?" she asks taking a roll off my plate. "I kneed him in the groin 95 times and punched him 345 in the stomach for kissing me." I reply nonchalantly taking a sip of my cocoa. Astoria drops the roll she'd just grabbed from the passing basket and gapes. "He had the nerve to say I missed him when I didn't. Then he kissed me. I made him think I gave in then I hit him where it hurts when he let his guard down." I smile proudly.
Our friends cover their mouths in shock while Fleur laughs. Astoria picks the fallen roll up from the table and walks dazedly back to her own table to deliver the news. I hum softly and dance in my seat while I eat. "Are you that happy about it?" Marietta asks. "How would you feel if some random guy you don't even know kept tracking you down all over school just to pin you to the wall and kiss you senseless. It's fucking irritating. I'd rather be kissed senseless by someone I'm dating or in love with, you know?" I huff. "I love your sister's rationale." Fleur laughs.
Mere puts her head on the table. "You shouldn't just hit him like that Cass!" she groans. "And he shouldn't have acted the way he did either." I shrug. Mere tsks and turns back to her dinner. I don't see any sign of Blaise for the next two weeks. To say I'm happy is the understatement of the century. I skip along down the corridor with a bright smile on my face. I hum a little tune as I skip through the halls. I round the corner and bump into someone landing on the floor.
I groan and shake my head. Whoever I bumped into holds out a hand and helps me to my feet. I gasp and jump back defensively when my eyes meet his. Blaise stands there smirking. "Hey there baby bird." He smiles. I walk backwards the way I came, and he takes a single step forward wrapping an arm around my waist. He leans in close, and I flinch. "Snape said you're to meet him in his classroom and I have to escort you. Please don't make my job harder by running away." He growls. It's the first time I've heard him growl and it sends a shiver down my spine.
I stare blankly at him. Something in my mind clicks and I push him up against the wall. I press my lips urgently to his. My actions shock us both, but he doesn't let me go. Instead, he wraps his arms around me pulling me closer, so close I can feel his heartbeat. I put my head on his chest trying to catch my breath. "What was that baby bird?" Blaise pants running his hands up and down my back comfortingly. I have no words.
He waits until I've calmed down. My hands are fisted in his shirt, and I release my hold. "Cassidy." Blaise lifts my chin so I'm looking at him. It's the first time he's ever called me by my name. I pull him down by his collar and kiss him softly. "I don't know." I whisper. Our lips brush ever so slightly, and I jump into his arms kissing him again. "We have to go." He manages between fevered kisses. I groan and he chuckles putting me down. I frown as he leads me down the hall. "Can we at least be friendly?" Blaise asks as we near Snape's classroom. I stop walking and look at him in confusion.
"I'm sorry for taking your first kiss and all the other kisses, but I really do you like you, Cassie! I want us to be together. I want you to be mine and only mine. Can we be a little friendly?" he pleads. I smile and shake my head walking towards the classroom. "I'll take that as a yes." He smiles and I roll my eyes. Snape is pacing the room when we walk in while Theodore and Draco clean up the supply closet. "I've talked with Flitwick, Dumbledore, and Madame Maxine. They want your assistance with the second task." Snape snaps when he sees me.
I tilt my head in confusion. "The herbal mixture you used to help your friends sleep and the rice and broth Fleur's been raving about. Write the ingredients down for both." He snaps impatiently. I take a quill and parchment out and start writing. I hand it over and what little color Snape has floods from his face. "Oh, I forgot snake wine." I take the list and scribble it down too. Snape takes the list and goes to inform the headmaster but orders me to use what's available for now.
I go to the supply closet and get two vials and sit at an empty desk scraping the leaves. Snape comes back flocked by several staff including the heads of each school. "The house elves are going to get the ingredients you need." Dumbledore speaks before Snape can. I nod and pick my bag up off the floor. I pull out my spice rack and start mixing the right spices. "Is it to be detectable or not?" I ask. The teachers look confused, but Dumbledore holds up two fingers.
I nod and take out my mezzaluna. Blaise's eyebrows shoot up in shock. I work away until the spices are extremely fine then paste like. I wave Theo over and he walks over hesitantly. I hand him a taste testing spoon with a green paste. He places the spoon in his mouth and falls to the ground knocked out. He starts snoring and I smile. The house elves show up with the other necessary ingredients and I take my new knife set out and get busy. "Miss Evans, what else do you have in your bag?" McGonagall asks as I examine the snake wine and add half the bottle.
Since everything has to simmer, I rummage through my bag pulling out another spice rack that I just had made, my cookbooks, a few unmarked cloudy bottles, and the like. Blaise wanders over and exams a cloudy yellow bottle with a frown. "This is alcohol baby bird!" he tsks. "And the alcohol cooks out leaving the flavor behind." I grumble trying to get the bottle. I stuff some ice cream beans in his mouth to shut him up. "Ah es, the house elves told me you gave them citrus vodka, rice wine, sake, bourbon, and moonshine." Dumbledore chuckles. I nod. "Just a little bit to be added to the food." I smile.
One of the house elves is watching carefully and I bend down to whisper in her ear. She smiles and disappears. I grab the largest cauldron I can find. I drag Blaise and Draco over just as the house elf returns with a large box of ostrich eggs. "Crack the eggs and cook them until they're a soft scramble." I speak slowly for Draco's sake since he just exudes 'I've never done chores a day in my life' energy. He glares at the box and gets to work. "No shells and try not to make a mess or damage the eggs." I call over my shoulder. Someone's moved Theo off the floor, and I suppose I should've stopped hopping and walking over him.
The sleep concoction is done first, and I shove it into Draco's mouth since he won't shut up and he's out like a light. Several teachers sigh in relief. The rice is done, and I go to check on the eggs. They're perfection. I wave Snape over since he looks like he could use a pick me up. I grab a fresh tasting spoon and scoop some eggs onto it and add a few drops of snake wine. He grimaces and raises the spoon to his mouth. His color returns within the first bite and he looks refreshed.
I mix the snake wine into the eggs then add it to the rice. Blaise hovers hungrily near the pot and I have to smack his hands away several times. The timer for the broth goes off and I ladle the rice and eggs into a bowl then ladle the broth on top and hand it to Karkaroff. He spoons a bit into his mouth and closes his eyes. The other teachers wait expectantly for his review. I ladle portions out for the staff and a pouting Blaise. Karkaroff places his spoon on the desk and starts drinking the food from the bowl. The rest of the staff needs no urging to begin inhaling the food. I hand a small bowl to the house elf and ask her to take the medium sized pots down to the kitchen for the rest of the elves to eat.
Her eyes water and she thanks me profusely before disappearing. I spy Astoria at the door and wave her inside. I hand her my bowl and she eats so fast I have to warn her to slow down. I put my spices and things up. McGonagall tells me they'll clean up and I forcibly drag Astoria out while Blaise picks the other two up with his wand. I head up to my dorm before either of them can open their mouths to talk. My mind's going a mile a minute still from earlier. I put my things down and lie down until dinner.
The afternoon before the second task I whip up a batch of the knockout lemon berry tarts with the help of the house elves and making a giant batch of rice and broth for the elves to heat up after the second task. The elves bustle around getting dinner ready and I get ready to leave. I slip them a big bag of ice cream beans to share before I leave. Blaise waits for me just down the hall. He smiles as I get closer. "There she is." he gasps. I roll my eyes. "Oh, please. You followed me down here, didn't you?" I scoff. It's his turn to roll his eyes. I walk into his arms and put my head on his chest.
"Have you thought about what I said?" he mumbles. I ignore him and listen to his heartbeat. Blaise sighs and unwraps my arms and starts to walk away. I panic and grab him by his belt loop pulling him back and kissing him. "That's not an answer baby bird." He mumbles. I jump into his arms kissing him with an urgency and passion I have never shown before. "That's my answer." I mumble against his lips. "I like that answer." He smirks. "A little friendly. You're not in the clear yet mister." I jump down and walk up to the entrance hall.
Blaise wraps his arm around me. "Oh, come on baby bird. You're torturing the both of us by dragging this out." He complains. I shrug him off of me and give him a gentle nudge back the way we came. "No hard feelings!" I smirk running up the stairs. I catch a glimpse of Blaise groaning and rubbing his face as I round the corner. Blaise still hasn't recovered by dinner and Draco sends Astoria my way. "Draco wants to know why your boyfriend is moping." Astoria sighs. I laugh and have a hard time calming down at the look of disbelief on her face.
"He's not my boyfriend. We just decided to be a little friendlier. He's going to have to work a whole lot harder than he is to make up for what he's done." I laugh. Astoria starts to laugh too and Mere tsks at both of us. "What would mother say!" she tuts. I put a finger to my lips and look up at the ceiling. "He brought it up so he shouldn't be complaining." I try. Astoria walks back to her table trying not to laugh. "That's not what I meant Cassie!" Mere whines. Blaise starts hitting his head on the table as Astoria starts talking. Ginny waves me over.
I sit on her lap with an innocent smile. "Yes, my darling little red!" I fight a laugh as Blaise covers his ears. "I thought you were supposed to be behaving this term." she frowns. "I am. He just didn't think before he spoke, and now he's punishing himself. For someone in the top ten of his class he has some real airhead moments." I giggle as Astoria bursts out laughing. Ginny shakes her head. "Oh, your poor parents. What's the punishment for misbehaving?" she wonders. When I tell her, she starts laughing too. I frown this time. "You know, it's hard being perfect. Being perfect sucks." I pout playfully.
I sense someone staring and turn to see Harry looking rather confused, especially for him. "Is there something I can help you with young sir?" I ask. Ron does a spit take when he hears me call Harry young sir. "Nothing, you just looked a bit familiar." He mumbles. I gasp and do a double take. I shake Mere's shoulders until she comes over too. "I told you he looked familiar. You were at the zoo a few years ago with your family and set that giant snake on your cousin!" I gasp excitedly. Harry goes red.
"Whoa, you guys were there?" Ron gapes. I nod. "You look like even more of a troublemaker now then you used to. Probably from a lack of Quidditch." Mere diagnoses and goes to sit next to Seamus. Harry looks absolutely lost. "Oh, my bad. I didn't introduce myself. Hi, I'm Cassidy Evans Potter, Ginny's friend." I hold out my hand. Harry takes my hand as the table goes quiet. "What'd you say your last name was again?" Hermione pipes up. "Evans Potter." Mere repeats for me. "Most professors just refer to us as the Evans' though." I laugh.
"Is your mother's name Evans' or…" Harry trails off. "Oh, no, no, no. Our parents' last name is Jameson, you know like the whiskey. We were adopted." Mere shrugs sneaking food off of Seamus' plate. Ginny stares at me in confusion. "I didn't know that was your last name." she mutters. "You were too nervous at the sorting to pay attention." I fight back a smile.
Ginny blushes and pushes me lightly off her lap. "In all seriousness though our parents died in an explosion when we were little. One of their friends took us from the wreckage before we could get hurt and dropped us off at the orphanage. He never left his name though which is a bit weird." I shrug nonchalantly. Ginny frowns and I poke her face until she's smiling. "Is there something weird about our last name?" I give an exaggerated gasp. "No, no, nothing at all." Harry chuckles. I tilt my head thinking.
"Are you sure? Or did you want to wait a while for your thoughts to catch up with your train of thought?" I tap my head. Harry blushes under the weight of my words meaning. "I can give you the name of our parents' restaurant if you and yours want to stop by. Me and Mere can cook up something really crazy and weird for that cousin of yours." I chuckle evilly. "What do you mean by crazy and weird?" Hermione squints at me. "Ackee and bison, tarantulas and puffer fish, hakarl and frog legs, or casu martzu and python." I offer. "Oh, Meredith gave me some of that casu martzu to try! What was it? It was really good." Fred chimes in.
I cover my smile with both hands. "Live maggot infested cheese brought to you by Italy and France." I smile. Fred goes pale and clutches his throat. "Didn't you warn him first Mere?!" I tsk. She shrugs. "He was teasing me. I had to get him back. He should have sensed something but no. He just thought it had something crunchy inside." she smirks. Fred gags and tears from the hall with his free hand clutched to his stomach. George is laughing to hard and falls off the bench and onto the floor. the entire table erupts into laughter.
I wipe the tears of mirth streaming down my face away. My stomach hurts from laughing so hard. Fred stumbles back in near the end of dinner. "I'd like to apologize on my sister's behalf." I manage. I hand him a small bag of ice cream beans. He takes it cautiously and Ginny gapes. She holds out her hand eagerly shocking Fred. "They taste just like ice cream. Cassie put them in the cotton candy ice cream burritos she made us." Ginny is now bouncing up and down in her seat. Fred drops a few into her eager hands then pops one into his mouth.
Fred hands a piece to George and Lee who try it without the slightest hesitation. Fred tucks the bag away but not before popping a final piece in his mouth. "All is forgiven." He mumbles. I clap my hands delightedly. Mere frowns but Seamus whispers something in her ear and she puts her head down. After dinner everyone heads up to bed still laughing but curious about tomorrow. I hear footsteps behind me and stop walking. "Yes?" I ask without tuning around.
Blaise put his head on my shoulder pouting. "Did you have to tell Astoria?" he grumbles. "She said Draco asked so why don't you go ask the ferret?" I smile. Blaise stands up straight one eyebrow raised at the slight venom in my tone. "What's with that bite in your tone baby bird?" he whispers walking me towards the wall. My breath catches when I see the look in his eyes. "I don't know. I got a bit agitated, but I'm perfectly calm right now." I laugh. Blaise leans close cupping my face. I close my eyes waiting for the kiss but nothing.
Our lips graze and my heart starts going crazy. "Just kidding. We've got an action-packed day tomorrow and you should get some rest since your so easily agitated. No hard feelings though baby bird." He chuckles and hurries down the stairs. I stand there in shock then the frustration hits hard.
