…The Snake Meets the Family…

It takes me less than an hour to complete my summer homework. I hop down the stairs and slide into the kitchen. Mum and dad are just finishing breakfast. "Done already?!" dad gasps. I nod and search the fridge for some juice but don't see the one I want. I pull out the juicer and grab my basket and gardening boots. "Do you guys want some juice?" I ask shoving my feet into my boots. "Yes!" they smile. I smile and head out to the mini orchard. I pick some apples for the restaurant along with some oranges. Then I pick a few gallons of strawberries and lemons.

Meredith is finally awake, and she helps me wash the fruit. I make everyone starfruit and strawberry juice. It's going to be hot today and I dress accordingly. Mere is helping dad this week and I'm helping mum. I unload the fresh produce from our garden, which slowly turning into a mini farm, with Vanessa's help. Over the last few days, I've been noticing her flirting and spending more time with John, dad's sous chef. I hoist a bag of flour over my shoulder. I send her a knowing wink as I pass by causing her to do a double take.

I tie my apron and wash my hands diligently. "What was that little missy?!" Vanessa demands quietly as I start my prep work. "I don't know what you're talking about Ness." I smile innocently. "Oh, don't mind her Ness. She's just upset her boyfriend hasn't contacted her yet." Mere smirks as she passes making me blush. "I don't give a rat's ass if he contacts me." I huff. Vanessa and Mere start laughing, and my blush gets worse. "You two aren't even working in desserts so why are you over here?!" I pout. They walk away laughing and I return to my task.

Mum comes over to let me know that aunt Petunia called, and they'll be coming over around lunch. I nod and start cooking the fruit for the summer pies. The smell of fruit and brown butter is intoxicating. I's then that I realize that it's been a while since one of our regulars has come by. I smile and start humming. I place the pies in the display and make my way back to the kitchen to experiment. Mum takes a break to look over my work. According to the research I've done and the trial and error at home I should finally get it right.

I take the cakes out of the oven and let them cool. The door chimes as people begin to come in. I trim up the lemon and poppy seed cakes and give them a soak with the lemon, raspberry, and vodka syrup. Once that's done, I frost them with raspberry buttercream and decorate it with candied raspberries and lemons. I hurry to finish decorating the rest of the cakes and pies and take them to their designated display shelves. I smile at the regulars that have just come in. I smile when I see aunt Petunia and let mum know the Dursley's are here with Harry in tow.

I rush outside to meet them and open the door for them. Dad nods from the piano and Mere comes out of the kitchen. I walk them over to a booth and give them menus. We only take a seat after they have their drinks and are comfortable. We order dragonfruit tea with berries. Harry seems intent on reading the menu, so I give him a gentle nudge.

Uncle Vernon starts the conversation and I note a small smile growing on Harry's face as Meredith tells them about our travels. The appetizers come out before she can get to the crazier things thankfully. "Harry told us you're both dating. Are they nice?" aunt Petunia asks. I down my drink instead of answering. To my immense relief Mere starts to tell them all about explosion boy. Harry gives me a nudge. I nudge him back slightly confused. Harry nudges me again and this time nods out the window. I turn and gasp.

"Excuse me for a moment. It's one of our regulars and she hasn't been in for a while." I slowly get up. I go outside and the woman wraps me in a hug. "It's been too long! I was wondering when you were going to stop by." I smile. "Oh, I'm sorry. This one's been dragging me up and down the entire country looking for something." She points behind her. Blaise stands there looking at our interaction in shock. I wave politely then lead my regular, his aunt, inside 'accidentally' closing the door before he can follow. I make sure she's well taken care of at her usual spot at the counter with a view into the kitchen.

Blaise stumbles in and I frown. "I'm meeting some family, but I hope you two have a nice meal." I smile. I turn to leave, and Blaise grabs my hand. "Are you really not going to say anything baby bird?" he whispers. "My family is waiting." I point over to the table and wave signaling I'll be back in a minute. "Oh, you should try some of the new desserts I made. I was inspired by someone really irritating at school." I turn to my regular and nod at the display cases. I slide Blaise's hand off mine and put a menu in it that one of the waiters hands me. I pat his shoulder and return to my family.

Mum and dad have joined the table now and everyone is watching me. "Is that him?" Dudley asks. I start to dig into my lobster ravioli. "Yes, that's her boyfriend." Mere smirks. I shrug. "You could say that." I mumble. "Either way, I win the bet Harry." Mere dances in her seat. "You two did not bet on how long it would take him to find!" I gasp. "I'm sorry what in the devil is going on here?!" uncle Vernon asks. "My boyfriend, that idiot over there, normally finds me with no problem whatsoever. This time it took him almost a month. Our dear Meredith and our normally slow thinking Harry made a bet on how long it would take him to find me." I huff.

Aunt Petunia giggles then bursts out laughing. We all stare at her in shock. "I'm sorry! It's just for a moment you sounded just like Lily. I heard you had a bit of a temper that got the best of you and so did she." Aunt Petunia smiles. I sit there in shock. "So that's where you got your temper from." Dad smiles. "I don't have a temper. I just shut down." I say sassily and toss my hair over my shoulder. This makes everyone laugh. We enjoy the rest of our meal and mum and dad ask them to come visit the house in a few days. They agree and mum and dad even offer to let Harry stay for a few days which surprises them.

"Oh, don't worry. We grow most of the things you ate today so we'll probably put him to work." I smirk getting up to get everyone dessert. I get everyone a slice of the summer pie and a slice of the lemon poppy seed cake with grapefruit tea to wash it down. I place the plates on the table. Blaise keeps sneaking looks at me and I use my hair as a shield. "How long have you two been dating?" aunt Petunia suddenly asks looking at Blaise. "A few months. He's a nice guy I guess." I mutter. "Ah, even though you like him your extremely stubborn. You get that from your father. You should try being a little nicer. Go on. He really looks like he wants to talk to you." She smiles.

I look over my shoulder and Blaise is fidgeting so much that his aunt keeps shooting him worried looks. I frown and look at mum and she nods for me to go. I get up with a sigh and lean onto the counter looking at Blaise who hasn't realized I'm in front of him yet. "Hello darling. Looking for someone." I smile. He jumps and his aunt shakes her head. "I should reintroduce myself. Hi, I'm Blaise's girlfriend." I hold out my hand to his aunt. She drops her fork and stares at me in shock. "Baby bird! I haven't told my family I'm dating anyone yet. I wanted to find you first." Blaise complains regaining composure.

"Aww, that's not my fault. Mere just told my family. I just wanted to say hi." I pout. His aunt finally takes my hand. "So, the irritating guy is Blaise?" she manages. I nod. "He normally is very good at finding me, but not this time. I told you that if you found out yourself it would be more entertaining, but I didn't expect you'd take one of our regulars up and down the country. I am so sorry for his behavior." I turn to his aunt. She looks back and forth trying to figure something out. "Is the girl you were complaining about in your letter. The one you admitted you were in love with, and she didn't say it back right away?" she gasps.

I straighten up, put my hands on my hips, raise my eyebrows, and suck my teeth. "So, you complained about me before you told your family that we've been dating since February. Did you tell them everything? Did you tell them how clingy you get from time to time? Did you tell them how I had to repeatedly stop you from decking Draco? Did you tell them how you stole my first kiss and tracked me down repeatedly just to kiss me in between classes?" I stare at him. He looks down but I place a finger under his chin forcing him to look back up.

"I didn't know there was anything to complain about. I told you I loved you too before I got off the train. you know how stubborn I am." I smile and tilt my head. "I'm sorry. My nephew did what?!" his aunt seems taken aback. I quickly give her the run down of first term then second term carefully leaving out what happened after the third task. "You better be lucky she forgave you or I'd whip your sorry tail right here and now." Blaise's aunt frowns at him. I grab her some of the summer pie and she tilts her head in confusion. "He doesn't get any pie." I answer before she can ask.

Blaise frowns and opens his mouth t object. "You mister get to meet my family. Don't worry they don't bite." I smirk and guide him over to the table. I give a short introduction and then nudge Blaise towards my seat. I stand behind him and hug him. "You'll do fine. Just some light questioning." I whisper in his ear. I go to the kitchen to get the snake wine custard. By the time I get dad and uncle Vernon are staring blankly at Blaise. Harry looks on the verge of laughing and Dudley focuses on the frozen treat in my hands. "Snake wine custard and no you don't get any Blaise." I smirk as he pouts.

Dudley eyes the custard but tries a bite. "It's really good." Mere mumbles. I shoot her a smile while draping myself over Blaise. "Why don't I get anything?" Blaise mumbles. "Because you took so long to find me." I whisper. "That's hardly fair." He frowns. "Do you really want to start a 'what's fair discussion' right now?" I smirk. Dad clears his throat. "So, you go to school with Harry and the girls. How do you like school?" dad asks. "Oh, it's fine. Top ten in my class. Fairly good track record." He fidgets and I roll my eyes then laugh. Mum turns to me confused.

"The way he said it. That would make Harry the only one that's not top of his class at this table." I giggle. Harry shoots me a look. "It's true though. I mean it's not really a bad thing it's just trouble finds you so easily it's a wonder that you're able to get your schoolwork done." I smile. Harry bites his lip and shakes his head. "Ah, I remember you guys telling us about that. Apparently, the girls saw you guys a few years ago at the zoo." Mum snaps her fingers.

"You were there that day?" aunt Petunia gasps. We nod and I pull a picture off the counter and show it to them. Dad timed it really well just as the snake slid past us and in the background are Harry, aunt Petunia, and uncle Vernon. We chat for a while until they have to go home, and Blaise and his aunt leave soon after. Once the restaurant closes for the night dad turns to me arms folded. "You better treat him right. If you start to shutdown, you tell him don't hit him." dad orders. I groan and look away. "I'm serious Cassidy! You need to be completely honest with him. He really cares about you!" dad leans into my line of sight. "Ok, I'll try!" I groan and lean away.

I wake early in the morning and stumble into the kitchen. Dad is the only one awake and I make my way over and hug him. "Morning Cassie." He chuckles. I grumble and he pats the top of my head. He's about to go pick some fresh fruits and vegetables for brunch. I hurry up to my room and change before joining him outside. Mum joins us an hour later and I wipe the sweat from my brow as the sun climbs higher into the bright blue sky. I start wishing for a breeze but to no avail.

Meredith and I spent all last night cleaning a guest room for Harry to stay in. When dad is satisfied with the amount of produce, we've picked I run straight to the shower. I pick a simple floral skirt and matching top and slip into a pair of flats. I put my hair into a braided ponytail and rush downstairs when I hear aunt Petunia's voice. I give her a hug and mum leads her into the sunroom for tea. Dad takes uncle Vernon to his study while Mere, Dudley, and I take Harry's things up to his new room for the week. Once Harry is situated, we go to the sunroom where dad has finished setting up brunch.

The food is good to say the least and Elizabeth is on her best behavior. Mere takes Elizabeth outside to play and Dudley joins them. I take Harry upstairs and give him a tour. I take him out to the garden and orchard too. "I have a question. Back in the Hospital Wing when you were assessing everyone, and you gave me some advice how did you sense all of that?" Harry asks as I pick some fresh strawberries. I hand him a few. "You've seen my parents, you've seen where they work, where I work. It's just like you on your broom. Some things just come naturally to people. Meredith and I have been very in tune to the sensitivities of others for as long as we can remember. In fact, I used to get these really bad nightmares where I'd see a flash of green light and Mere would always comfort me." I confess.

"If you don't mind what else do you remember about the dream?" Harry asks. I tell him everything. A doo being blow in, cold and cackling laughter, a woman pleading, green light, Mere crying, footsteps moving away from us, another explosion of light, a voice I now know to be Harry crying, and a man bursting in and picking our mother up and then taking us away. I stare up at the sky when I'm done. "You remember a bit more than I do for being younger." Harry sighs. I shake my head sadly. "When I say the nightmares got bad, I mean it. I saw his face. He approached our crib and peered inside before going to yours. I-i… sometimes in the middle of the night I'd wake up screaming because of it. Mum and dad sent me to therapy for a bit. Seeing and shielding Mere from all those accidents and deaths didn't help in the slightest. I started going for runs to clear my head. It may sound a bit funny, but I thought if I ran fast enough, I could clear my head enough to think straight and rationalize my way through my fears. It kind of worked." I laugh humorlessly.

"I get those dreams too. The flashes of green light. Only now Cedric is there." Harry lays back on the grass. I listen as he tells me about what happened that night. "Mum and dad say hello and…" Harry trails off a small smile on his lips. I nudge him. "They wanted me to pass a message on to you and Meredith. One not to give your parents a hard time. Two don't give your boyfriends a hard time. Three don't give me a hard time because I'm new to this. Last but not least, four they love you and they're very proud of how far you two have come." He smiles. It takes me a minute to realize I'm crying. Harry wipes my tears away and I take a deep breath.

Teaching Harry how to pick certain fruits and vegetables is easy since he's been trained at the Weasley's. We even make him work as a waiter which he takes to very quickly. I may have whispered to him to treat it like Quidditch practice. My favorite day is when Seamus visits. He's shocked to Harry but when Mere who's working desserts comes out with a four tier cake his attention is split. "Meredith's boyfriend has arrived!" I smirk. Mere blushes and dips back into the kitchen slapping my arm. I rub my arm and pout.

Karma has a gift for me the next day. I'm picking apples and lemons when I hear footsteps. The restaurant isn't that busy, so mum tasked me and Mere to come up with new dishes. Harry is catching up on his homework, and Seamus is picking peppers with Mere. "There's my baby bird. Your parents told me I could find you here." Blaise chuckles looking up at me. I give a little shriek and nearly lose my footing. I safely climb down and launch myself into his arms. "I missed you too." He whispers when I get done kissing him.

He helps me pick some more fruit then follows me into the kitchen. I wash and prep my ingredients while he leans against the wall watching me. "Your parents said you had some things to talk to me about. Some thing about your shutdowns?" Blaise whispers. I sigh and tilt my head back. I motion for him to sit down and fix us some freshly squeezed juice with honey. I start with my very first memories including even the horrors I shielded Meredith from. When I'm done, he pulls me into his lap. "It couldn't have been easy to tell me that Cassie but thank you." He whispers. I place my head in the crook of his neck. "If I ever push you away, will you stay?" I murmur.

He lifts my chin and kisses me softly. "Little bird I'm staying with you regardless of how many times you push me away. You're stuck with me for life." He smirks. I groan. "Is there a shorter or less annoying option?" I pout. "I'm glad you like the idea too." He laughs. "I don't like the idea. I hate the idea. It makes me want to retch." I insist. Blaise kisses the top of my head as I pout. "Are you planning on pushing me away any time soon?" he wonders. "Why of course! Any time I have a major test or exam and some other occasions but they're a surprise!" I giggle sliding off his lap. I walk around making trial and error dishes while Blaise pouts and every now and then gives advice.

I round the island and put my hands on his shoulder. "Since you have so much advice can I use you as my testing dummy?!" I ask innocently. Blaise growls low in his throat at the word dummy. "Are you two done flirting?" Harry asks from the stairs. "Big brother!" I cheer running over and jumping on his back. "You can be my food testing dummy too!" I smile. Harry's smile drops. "No, no way. You've been using anchovies and brussels sprouts, and vegemite." Harry gags. "Oh, please they're no worse than Bertie Botts Every Flavor Bean you stubborn child!" I drag Harry into the kitchen. "I'm stubborn?!" Harry scoffs. I serve the two my trial dishes and wait patiently.

Blaise looks uncertain and I smirk. "Something wrong Mr. Italy. Did I put pineapple on pizza? Break pasta noodles before cooking them? Add canned tuna to carbonara? Did I use ketchup as a tomato sauce? Cut pasta with scissors? Put peanut butter on pizza? Did I use salad dressing as a substitute for tomato sauce even though I have an entire garden outside?" I tease. Blaise growls and mutters something in Italian I don't quite catch and tries a bite. His eyebrows shoot up. In seconds both their bowls are empty. "You know now would be a good time for feedback." I say hopefully. They tap their bowls and I sigh and give them another serving.

Blaise clears his throat but harry holds up a hand. "Two teenage boys both on a Quidditch team and going through puberty. Does this seem like enough?" Harry frowns. I ladle more food into their bowls, and they have the nerve, the sheer audacity, to smile gratefully at me. I go to the pantry and grab my candied peppers to snack on. they end up eating the entire pot in an hour. "Thanks for the food. It was great!" Harry smiles and ruffles my hair before heading up the stairs.

Harry has truly excelled at being a waiter and no longer makes any mistakes. It's on Harry's last day with us that Dumbledore and McGonagall walk in dressed in their muggle attire. Harry is stunned but leads them to a table as Lupin, Snape, and 'Sirius' walk in. The five newcomers sit at a table and Harry takes their drink orders. I'm on desserts with Mere today and we watch from the sweets counter as they try the new summer berry refresher juice we just finished working on. "I was totally right. They all look refreshed and years younger!" I whisper excitedly.

Some kids from the orphanage come to the counter with their allowance that they've saved up. I smile and walk around the counter lowering myself to their height. "Hey there. We have some new flavors. Or do you want your regular haul?" I ask smiling sweetly. Mere fills bags with the sweets they've picked out. I notice a new little girl who's hovering near the back. I wave her over. "Hey, do you guys want to eat before you leave?" I ask. The kids nod and I lead them to the nearest booth. "Who are you? I haven't met you yet?" I ask the new little girl. "Daisy." She mumbles.

The booth is full so I pull up a chair to the counter so she can eat there. I have dad fix her up something special. Mum fixes dinner for the orphanage and packs a few boxes of macaroons and these fudge bites that I came up with that have ice cream bananas inside. I can't take my eyes off the little girl. She still hasn't relaxed yet. "One of the boys said her family went missing. She lived deep in the countryside, so no one knew until recently. The neighbors found her wandering with deep scratches on her arms and legs." Mere sighs quietly as we take the dessert to our headmaster's table.

"Her family just disappeared?!" Sirius gasps. Mere nods. "It's been a few weeks since she's been at the orphanage poor thing. She told me she saw the same thing. A giant grey wolf. No one believes her though." I frown. Lupin chokes on his drink. "A giant grey wolf?" he coughs. "Yes, lots of children have reported it but no one believes them. Daisy over there is just one of the victims in the past month." I sigh sadly. Daisy looks over and frowns. I tilt my head and she waves me over. I excuse myself from the conversation and head over.

It turns out she just ran out of juice and was too shy to ask anyone. "Do you want to meet someone really cool?" I ask. Daisy's eyes light up. "Ness, come meet my new friend." I call into the kitchen. Vanessa comes out dusting powdered sugar off her hands. "Who's this?!" she asks with a smile. "Hi, I'm Daisy." The little girl whispers shyly. "Hi there. I'm Vanessa. Did you like your food?" Vanessa wonders. Daisy nods a small smile gracing her face. Vanessa starts to point out a few sweets and Daisy slowly begins to relax and opens up. It turns out she a fan of candied peppers too.

When the kids leave Vanessa frowns. "She reminds me a lot of myself back when I was at the orphanage." Vanessa sighs leaning against the counter. I've never personally asked about Vanessa's time as an orphan, but I know she had a harder time than most since she was a teenager when she was taken from her abusive family. She pats my shoulder before going back to the kitchen. I sigh one last time before restocking the sweets and wrapping up some sweets for the Order to take back with them. Sirius, Snape, and Lupin frown in confusion. "I'm friends with Ginny. You're going to have to be sneakier than that especially with Fred and George there." I smirk.

I wave as they depart. Harry is frowning and I pop a candied pepper piece of saltwater taffy into his mouth. His face goes red, and I apologize when I realize it was a ghost pepper one. Mum makes him a mango and peach milkshake to help with the heat of the sweet. Some of the regulars laugh. "You're suppose to warn people first Cassie!" one of the regulars yells. I blush in embarrassment. It takes seven milkshakes to calm Harry down. I fidget nervously. Harry chases me around the counter and outside. I run down the street right into a wolfish looking man with grey hair. He snarls at me, and I put my hands on my hips and growl. "So rude! I was just about to apologize but I don't think I should now." I snap.

"Just watch where you're going!" he snaps before lumbering down the street. I scoff and roll my eyes. a few seconds later Lupin comes running down the alleyway that the man had emerged from. "He went that way." I point down the street the man is still walking down. Lupin nods his thanks and takes off running again. Sirius and Snape appear soon too. I point them in the right direction. "He's injured and looking for his victims. I suggest you pick up the pace gentlemen." I sigh. The direction he was going is the same direction as the orphanage. They take off and I run my fingers through my hair. Harry catches up and sees my expression.

I explain what happened on the way back to the restaurant and he listens without interrupting. "I'll send Ginny a quick letter with Lilith." I mumble as we enter the restaurant. I make sure to get Mere's permission first. She doesn't reject it, but I know I'll have to explain at home. I send the quickly scribbled note and Lilith goes flying into the sky. The door chimes and Dumbledore and McGonagall reenter. They go into the office with mum, dad, Vanessa, and John. It shocked the hell out of me to learn that Vanessa and John were a wizard and witch. Then again, having them around made it ten times easier to explain things to our parents.

Harry gets picked up early by the Dursleys and I receive a note from Ginny when he's safe at his new residence until the start of term. It turns out the wolfish man was Fenrir Greyback. Once the Ministry got wind, he was attacking children they sent Aurors after him. Daisy's family and many others were found brutally murdered. Vanessa ended up adopting Daisy after taking a liking to her. Daisy's family were part of the Wizarding community, so she understood immediately what happened to her and her family. Sometimes Ness brings her by, and Meredith and I teach her how to cook and bake.

She's slowly getting better, and I sometimes think she truly is. She promises to take good care of Elizabeth and my family's farm while we're at school. I smile and ruffle her hair. I pack slowly while Mere runs around like a mad woman. I received a letter from Cho saying that the previous captain of the Quidditch team wants me to be one of the Chasers. I bought a broom based on recommendations from everyone I know. I hug my parents goodbye at the station and climb aboard the train.

Mere is snatched up by Seamus as soon as we step foot onto the train, and I laugh as she calls for my help as he carries her down the train. "There you are baby bird! I've been looking all over for you." Blaise whispers in my ear. I push him into an empty compartment and climb into his lap. "What happened? I heard some rumors and some whispers, but I want to it hear it from you." He mumbles pulling me close. I tell him about Daisy and my run in with Fenrir. I'm shaking a little by the time I'm done. "I leave you alone for a little while and you go and run into one of the worst criminals in the Wizarding World." He sighs.

I straddle his lap getting as close as I can. "Aww, baby bird." He murmurs softly. I wrap my arms around him hiding my face in his neck. I can't stop shaking though. All my pent-up emotions and trying not worry my family coming pouring out and soon I'm crying. He holds me tight and lets me cry until my tears cease. "I got your shirt wet." I sniffle. "It's ok. It's just a shirt. It doesn't mean anything as long as you're ok." he rubs circles on my arms which is strangely calming. The only time I leave his arms is when the trolley comes around and he makes me eat a chocolate bar. I nibble on it until he tsks.

I stuff a piece into his mouth and go back to nibbling. "That's not what I meant Cassie!" he growls softly and stuffs a piece into my mouth. I pout up at him, but he isn't having it and stuffs another piece in my mouth. I grumble at him, and he smiles. "Love you too." He chuckles kissing the top of my head. I yank away from him and move to the other side of the compartment. I lie down and take a little nap. When I wake Blaise is carrying me up to the castle. I nuzzle his neck to show I'm awake. "You've got to stop letting it get this bad baby bird." He whispers.

I groan and he sets me down. "I don't know what you're talking about." I huff and storm inside. I plop down in my seat pouting. Mere and Luna join and smirk. "Is Cassie pouting? Why? Did you get scolded?" Mere teases. "No, but apparently you got marked up." I smirk tapping her neck. she lets out a little yelp and yanks her collar up. "Why don't you have any marks?" Luna wonders searching my neck. "I have self-restraint." I smile sassily. "Too much self-restraint." Mere mutters. The sorting begins before I can say anything else and Luna laughs.

At the end of dinner Luna tugs on my sleeve. I frown and turn to her, and she points at the wall. Blaise leans against it watching me. I make my way over but stay out of arm's reach. He raises an eyebrow and waves me closer. I take a step backwards and lean against the wall too. "Are you pouting?" he asks. "Are you being clingy?" I counter. "Are you hiding something from me?" he asks. "No, I have nothing to hide. Why? Did you hear something?" I smirk. Blaise narrows his eyes at me. He starts walking towards the dungeons and I shrug and walk up the stairs.

"Did you say something to Blaise last night to make him mad?" Astoria asks sitting down next to me at breakfast the next morning. I shrug and look behind me. Blaise is undeniably upset about something. "I have no idea. I asked him if something was wrong, but he never answered. He just left. Why? Did he throw a fit or something?" I wonder as I butter some toast. She nods. I whisper in her ear, and she sighs before rejoining the Slytherin table. Blaise starts rambling and I hear some Italian slip out here and there. by the time he's done he's full-on ranting in Italian and Theodore and Draco are trying to calm him down.

"If this turns out to be something really trivial, I'm going to throw a fit." I laugh. Meredith shakes her head but she's laughing too. Blaise is still going so Snape walks over and escorts him out of the hall. Everyone can still hear him. Astoria comes over and sits down. "Did you fall asleep yesterday on the train?" she asks. I drop my toast. I was so tired yesterday from crying that for the first time in the past year I didn't dream about him. I burst out laughing making her give me a worried look. I get up and go outside and find Blaise sitting on the floor pouting, ranting, and Snape looking very irritated.

"Sorry professor. I'll handle it from here." I smile trying not to laugh. Snape hurries back inside rubbing his head. Blaise is still ranting but hasn't looked up yet. I don't think he realizes I've traded places with Snape. I crouch down beside him and kiss his cheek. "I was tired, and I didn't dream of you. I didn't dream anything actually." I whisper in his ear. The ranting comes to a screeching halt. I can hear the relieved sighs of several students. I pull him down to the dungeons and frown at him.

"It was just shocking and then you just laughed it off." He mutters refusing to look at me. I force him to look at me. "Stop it." I order. His arms snake around me pulling me closer. "Are you done pouting?" I ask. He kisses me in response. I wrap my arms around him and smile. "I'm missing breakfast because of you. Why would you throw a fit in the middle of breakfast when I told Astoria to tell you that I wanted to talk to you after breakfast?" I ask. Blaise freezes and pulls back enough to look into my eyes. He groans and looks up. "She did not tell me that. She told me you didn't want to talk to me today and that you wanted me to think about the consequences of my actions." he chuckles humorlessly.

I roll my eyes making a note to have words with Astoria later. "I have to get back. She's probably looking for me." I sigh. I turn to leave, and Blaise pulls me back. "She who?" he asks. "It's a secret. You'll find out in about a month." I whisper teasingly.
