…Father is Home?…

I'm sitting in the corner of the common room doing my homework quietly. The others are talking about the escaped murderer, but I don't find it interesting or worth my time. I lean against the cool stone and watch the Giant Squid swim by. I return to my studies until Astoria interrupts. "Ellie! You've been studying all day. come play with me." she whines in a childish tone as she tugs on my shirt.

I smile and nod to my homework. "Then I'm guessing you already finished the 20-page report Snape assigned." I smirk. Her face falls and she shakes her head. She goes to retrieve her homework and sits across from me muttering while she works. I point every mistake in her paper out as she works which increases the muttering. "Ellie, maybe you should take a study break." Draco chuckles from where he's taking a break.

I hop to my feet and make my way over reading his paper. I start pointing out mistakes and he starts pouting. Blaise and Theo back me up. Draco gets up and pouts in the corner. "How on earth do you two deal with the spoiled brat every day?" I ask loud enough for Draco to hear. "One second at a time." Theo smirks. "One millisecond at a time on a really irritating day." Blaise groans.

I giggle softly and Draco growls. "Are you done pouting?" I ask as he stops next to me. "No, but I'm not going to leave my cousin around such bad influences." He mutters glaring at Theo and Blaise. They smile innocently and I pinch Draco. "You have absolutely no room to talk mister." I point to the discarded sling for his arm. Draco clutches his heart pretending to be hurt.

"You know if provoke something or someone enough it'll attack. Maybe you'll learn from this maybe not." I pat his head. "Why is your cousin smarter than you?" Theo asks. Draco opens his mouth, but I smack his back so hard he goes flying over the couch. "Time to get back to studying." I announce dropping his book into his lap. He curls into himself groaning as I walk back over to Astoria.

Astoria abandoned me after class to go study in the library, so I wander the castle by my lonesome. Something tells me I should continue around the corner, and I follow without a hint of doubt. My instincts lead me to a confused looking man who looks like he's been camping in the woods for over a decade. "Are you lost?" I ask. The man turns to me and there's something familiar about his eyes.

He takes in my appearance then his eyes go to my necklace. he tenses taking several steps back. I tuck my necklace into my shirt and try again. "Hi, I'm Eleanor Brown. Do you need help?" I ask taking a step forward. The man has walked so far back he's up against the wall. I frown saddened by his actions for some reason. I fall back a bit.

His eyes focus on mine and my frown deepens. Something about his eyes. I've seen them before. "Your eyes. They look just like uncle Regulus'." I gasp when it hits me. This confuses the strange man further. I clap my hands in amusement. "You don't look it right now, but you remind me of a picture f young man that was in grandma Black's house." I pause and frown again. "But mum and grandma never talked about him much." I sigh.

The man stares at me blankly then focuses on something behind me. "Miss Brown what are you doing?" professor Lupin chuckles. His eyes follow mine. "I was talking professor. I think he's lost and doesn't know it. I thought he might be a muggle or a squib that got through the enchantments." I whisper to the professor, so I don't alarm the strange man.

Professor Lupin moves me behind him. "I'll take it from here miss Brown. Go on back to your dorm now." he nudges me down the hall and I wave to both men as I leave. I skip down to the dungeons. Everyone is talking about something but I'm still thinking about the strange man. "I thought you were roaming the castle." Draco sneers but there's worry in his eyes. "I was but then I ran into this strange man in the hall." I shrug.

The conversations come to a screeching halt. "What strange man?" Draco sits up a bit. "I don't know. He had eyes like uncle Regulus and even though he looked like he'd been in the woods a while he looked a bit like a picture of this guy, I saw in grandma Black's house." I whisper conspiratorially. Draco pulls me over to something pinned to the bulletin board and smacks the top of my head. "Did he look like this guy?" he asks pointing to a clipping of the escaped prisoner everyone's been blabbering on about.

I take a closer look rubbing my head where he hit me. "Oh, yeah he definitely looked exactly like him and… oh, oh, oooh…" I trail off. "That explains Lupin's reaction a bit. Yeah, I just thought he was a muggle or something that got through the protection spells." I giggle. Draco stares at me the worry much more obvious. He puts his hands on my shoulders and starts shaking me.

"I need you to take this serious Ellie." Draco growls. "But he seemed really nice. Like every time I took a step forward, he took a step back and when he saw my necklace, he looked really confused so I told him he had eyes just like my uncle's." I smile. Draco stops shaking me and groans rubbing his face. "Ugh, I can't. Someone else try talking some sense into her." Draco flops into a chair dramatically.

I pout and cross my arms. "If I was actually in danger, I wouldn't be talking to you right now dumbass!" I stick my tongue out and hurry to my dorm before he can react. I'm still not talking to Draco at dinner. "Oh, come on Ellie! Draco said he was sorry multiple times." Astoria tries to get me to talk to Draco. I continue eating and completely ignore her.

"He can go get thrown into outer space by a Chinese Fireball for all I care." I mutter. Astoria pinches my cheek painfully hard, and I wince. "Talk to your cousin Ellie." She orders. "Fine!" I get out of my seat and go to the Gryffindor table. I put my head on Lavender's shoulder and pout. "Are you fighting with Draco again?" she whispers. I nod taking a cookie from her plate.

I can feel Draco staring but I shake it off and focus on the conversation around me. "What'd you do to upset Draco?" Lavender asks as dinner ends. "Nothing. I was just wandering the castle." I give as little information as possible knowing that Lavender will freak out more than Draco did. She side eyes me and I smile. "What?" I ask. "Is that the entire truth Ellie?" she speaks slow and slow.

I wave my hand in a 'no, not really' fashion and she raises an eyebrow. "Oh, just spill it already." Parvati urges. I tell her with obvious reluctance, and she sighs. "First apologize for being such an airhead when it comes to your personal safety then get him some sweets, so he forgets about it quickly. Knowing you your apology is not going to cut it." Lavender laughs. I tap the table with my fingers.

"But I wasn't in danger!" I complain. Lavender whacks the top of my head. I wince and rub the spot. She hit precisely the same spot Draco did earlier. "Oh, sorry!" she hands me a cookie. "No, that was just evil Lav. You hit the exact same spot on purpose, didn't you?" I frown. She shakes her head but there's a faint trace of a smile there.

I apologize to Draco then send a quick owl home to mum so Draco will have his sweets by breakfast. I organize my things and crawl yawning under my sheets. I curl up my mind going back to the strange man as I drift off. I feel very well rested when I wake. I sit up and stretch looking around. It doesn't seem to be dawn, so I go back to sleep.

I'm woken by Astoria and Pansy shaking me awake. I groan and slide under the covers. "Ellie wake up! you've been asleep for three days!" Astoria yells. This gets my attention. I know I've been tired lately, but I didn't think I was that tired. I glance at the clock on my table and sure enough it's been three days.

I bolt out of bed and shower and dress for the day. "Why didn't you wake me sooner!" I groan. "I didn't realize until an hour ago." Astoria mumbles rubbing her cheek where I accidentally slapped her when I was getting up. My stomach grumbles in complaint and I abandon the idea of putting my socks and shoes on in favor of getting something to eat.

Astoria follows after me as I follow the scent of food. She makes me start off light and pick her brains about any and all homework I missed. One of my hands works on homework and the other helps me eat. Draco ruffles my hair as he passes. "Overslept?" he teases. "Ellie, would you please put your socks and shoes on!" Pansy pinches my cheek as she sits down. "But I'm comfortable. It's rather nice." I smile swinging my feet back and forth.

Draco frowns and I immediately turn back to my food. There's a tap on my shoulder. I turn and see Kreacher who probably had to jump just to get my attention. "Mistress sent you a letter. You shouldn't read it here though. Too many eyes watching." Kreacher warns. I nod in understanding and Kreacher walks over to Draco. "Keep an eye on her. That's an order from both your mother and my mistress." Kreacher growls.

Draco nods and Kreacher slips him a letter too. "Hey Kreacher!" I call. Kreacher turns back to me. I wave him over. "I found some more of grandma's and uncle Regulus' things. There under my bed if you want them." I whisper in his ear. Kreacher brightens considerably before disappearing.

"How do you do that?" Draco mumbles. "What? I'm naturally likeable. You just have to work harder." I tease turning back to my breakfast, but something catches my eye. Kreacher left a box of sweets in my bag. I smile and finish my breakfast quickly so I can read mum's letter. I walk around in circles and retracing my steps in case someone is following me.

The letter is more of a note. 'Come home for the holidays. Your dad is home. Burn this as soon as you've finished reading it, love mum.' I reread it several times in shock then crumple it and burn it in one of lamps on the wall. I wait until it has been reduced to ash and even reburn those too just in case.

I'm silent in my classes only speaking when spoken to. I turn in my missing work and apologize profusely for my unplanned absence from class. McGonagall and Snape are the only ones who lecture me. I keep my head down and take the lecture without a word of complaint. "I'll also be speaking to miss Greengrass and miss Parkinson about why they waited so long to wake you. Don't let it happen again miss Brown." Snape waves me out of the Teacher's Lounge.

I hurry to the common room. I drop my bag beside the couch and flop onto it with a heavy sigh. I rub my eyes tiredly and roll onto my side and jump. Draco, Theo, and Blaise are staring at me and when I roll over, they're mere inches from my faces. "Not nice!" I pout and push them away. "Come on. You need a break from being inside." Draco pulls me off the couch while Blaise grabs my bag. Theo walks ahead talking about something that happened in one of their classes.

They drag me to the lake, and I sit down on a tree root. "Why did you drag me out here?" I yawn. "Wha part of you need a break from being inside did you not understand Ellie?" Theo smirks as he skips rocks with Blaise. "Does this mean I'm going to get dragged toy our Quidditch practice too now?" I groan. Draco smiles patiently and turn and put my head down. "I don't want to be babysat though!" I whine.

Draco leans back against the tree opposite me with my bag in his lap. He starts rifling through it and I wince internally. "You don't need all these books Ellie!" he chuckles. I hold my breath as he starts pulling more and more things out. "Merlin's beard Ellie!" Theo gapes as Draco pulls out my broom and a broom care kit. Blaise bursts out laughing when Draco pulls out my Wizard's chess set, Gobstones, and a deck of cards.

Draco gasps and pulls out my cd player, headphones, and cd case. "Eleanor this is ridiculous!" Draco groans. I'm completely frozen by the time he reaches the bottom of my bag. I'm not even blinking. Draco begins to pull out handfuls of love letters from my admirers. I begin to scoot around the tree slowly, so I don't alert the three of them.

"Ellie, who sent these to you?" Theo asks calmly. I shrug. "Classmates, a few upperclassmen, and some Slytherins but I just chalked everyone of them up to them being nice." I laugh. They stare at me with a look I've never seen before. "They are jut being nice right?" I fidget uncomfortably. "No, they are not!" all three growl at the same time.

"Now who sent these and don't bother trying hide information Ellie." Draco waves me over. I sit down and begin pointing out which note, or letter, came from which student. Draco is getting angrier and angrier the more we go through my bag. Draco points to one I received recently. "Second year Gryffindor, Colin Creevey. Sent a week ago via a floating feather." I mumble. "A floating feather?" Theo tilts his head in confusion.

"Yes, McGonagall had made some remarks about my brain being feather light when I'm distracted, and I think he was trying to make me feel better." I whisper. Blaise doubles over and pretends to gag. "Oh my… for fuck's sake. Please tell me you're joking right now?" Blaise pleads. "I honestly wish I was but I'm not." I run my fingers over some rocks before picking the best one. I twirl the smooth rock in between my fingers.

"Aww, don't worry, you could just date me or Blaise if you want." Theo smirks ruffling my hair. I blush and Draco smacks Theo's arm. "Like hell I'm letting my cousin date either of you." Draco mutters. I stop twirling the rock and spin it out onto the water. "Look what you did Draco. You upset her." Blaise teases. I roll my eyes and lean against Draco. "Then I'll change it. Ellie you're not allowed to date until you finish school." He shrugs.

Now I'm upset. I start hitting his arm and whining. Theo and Blaise have to pull me off of him. "That's absolutely absurd. You can't make that kind of decision for me." I complain. Draco shakes his head. "Don't be unreasonable." He scoffs. I stick my tongue out at him and kick the ground. "You're so goddamn irritating!" I yell and sit on the other side of the tree.

I ignore them and pout undisturbed on my side of the tree. It starts to get chilly, so I go for a walk. It takes me a while to realize I'm lost. I take deep breaths trying not to panic when I see the big black dog walking towards me. I slowly walk backwards refusing to break eye contact. The dog stops and tilts its head in amusement.

I bump into a tree and slide slowly to the ground. The dog is huge, and the growing shadow of the forest isn't helping. I don't have my bag or my wand on me. the dog stops in front of me and lays down watching me carefully. "Are you lost? I'm lost?" I whisper. I look up towards the sky trying to figure out what time it is. The dog nudges my hand and I look down.

I quickly gather from the nudging that I'm to follow the dog. "Where are we going?" I ask doing my best to keep up. The dog speeds up and I shut my mouth and hurry. I lose the dog in the near darkness, but my ears pick something up. Someone's calling me and I hurry in the direction of the voice. I spot Blaise calling for me at the forests edge. With one last burst of speed, I launch myself into his arms.

"I got lost!" I cry burying my head in his neck. He chuckles and wraps his arms around me. "You had us all worried." he whispers as the tears run down my face. "I'm sorry." I sniffle. His arms tighten around me, and I resume crying as he walks us back up to the castle. I'm completely cried out by the time we reach the castle. "Are you ok to go in to dinner or do you want to go to bed?" Blaise asks. "I want to go to bed." I sniffle.

He carries me down into the dungeons. I've entirely calmed down by the time we get into the common room. His first attempt to unlock my arms fails and he chuckles softly. "Go to bed Ellie. I'll tell Draco you're ok." Blaise puts me down and gives me a little nudge. I stumble to my dorm and crawl into bed. It takes a little while, but I finally fall asleep.

I wake to find Astoria curled up next to me in bed. I sit up and look at the clock. Breakfast is fast approaching, and I wake Astoria. We head to the showers to wake up. I frown at the state of my hair and wash the tiny leaves and twigs that somehow made their way deep into the ponytail I had my hair in. Once I'm clean I go back to the dorm and grab my things and dress in my uniform.

Astoria leads the way up to the Great Hall. I'm nibbling on buttered toast when Draco shows up. I wave with my free hand, and he smacks the top of my head. "No more wandering by yourself!" he orders. I nod and he pulls me into a hug. "I didn't mean to get lost. Really, I didn't, but then there was this giant dog that came from the shadows and helped me find my way back." I mumble.

Draco closes his eyes and sighs. "How is it that you're always going on little adventures?" he smiles. "I don't know. When I told the dog, I was lost it kind of laughed at me." I grumble. "Ellie, I'd laugh at you too. According to Blaise the direction you came from wasn't that far away from the lake and it was a well-worn path. If you'd just paid attention, you would've been fine." Draco laughs. I blush all the way to my roots.

"It's not that simple. I was upset so I went for a walk. Why was I upset? Because you were being unreasonable!" I huff. Draco ruffles my hair. I groan and put my hair into a low ponytail. "She was crying like a baby." Blaise smirks. I frown and chuck a piece of fruit at him. He catches it in his mouth and raises an eyebrow in a sort of challenge.

I chuck a piece of bread at him when he turns to talk to Theo. He catches it and sighs. "Draco tell Ellie to behave." Blaise scoffs. I roll my eyes. "I am behaving. I just didn't want everyone to know I cried asshole." I grumble. Draco pops my mouth with the back of his hand. "Where did you learn those words?" he demands. I point at Theo, Pansy, Crabbe, and Goyle.

Draco growls low in his throat and they look down at their plates. "We've been trying to avoid using that kind of language around Ellie." He spits out through gritted teeth. I poke him until he smiles. "I've never seen a dog that big before. Have you? It was taller than me with long black shaggy hair." I gesture with my hands so he can he see how big the dog was.

Draco frowns and push the corners of his mouth into a smile. "You'll age faster if you frown too much and then you'll look like your father." I gag and shiver making Draco laugh. I finish eating breakfast and wait for Astoria. I can tell Draco's waiting for us to leave so he can scold his friends.

I skip down the hall with Astoria close behind me. Snape is having me come in after class to do some make up work for the classes I missed when I was sleeping. I knock shyly and he tells me to enter. I gather the potion ingredients I need and set to work while Astoria helps him with papers, cleaning, and reorganizing the supply closet.

Snape judges my potions while I clean up. "Well done. 15 points to Slytherin and an extra 20 for being smart and resourceful enough to brew several potions at once. I'll be showing your potions as an example to the other students so you can leave when you're done cleaning up." he nods thoughtfully while examining the potions. I nod and continue cleaning.

Lupin comes in and starts talking to Snape and I tug on Astoria's shirt signaling we should probably hurry. "I overheard Mr. Malfoy and his friends talking about how you got lost in the forest last night. Are you ok?" Lupin turns suddenly to me. "Yes sir. I was a bit upset and wasn't paying attention to where I was going, but then this giant black dog helped me find my way back." I fidget with my fingers.

"A giant black dog?" Snape questions. I nod. "About this tall." I gesture about a half foot taller than me and both professors share a look. "We're done cleaning professor. See you in class tomorrow." I smile and wave as Astoria grabs my hand, and we leave. She doesn't let go until we're safely in the common room. "For two men that hate each other, for a moment they were on the same page." Astoria shivers.

The train ride home is uneventful and boring since Draco won't let me out of his sight. I sit on the compartment floor pouting and ignoring Draco's attempts to improve my mood. I start grumbling and poking at the floor when something flashes by. I look up and find that we're pulling into the station. I jump up and grab my things.

I bolt out onto the platform just as the train slows to a stop. "FREEDOM!" I cheer with my hands in the air. People stare but ignore them and start looking for my mum. I find her and run straight into her welcoming arms. "I heard your cheer, Ellie. I take it Draco has been keeping a close eye on you like I asked." mum smiles and I groan in answer. She leads me through the barrier with an arm wrapped protectively around me.

We stop by the store to get groceries before we head home. I take a deep breath and walk inside. Mum normally has Kreacher cooking most of the time, but I can tell even from outside she baked gingerbread cookies. I carry as much inside as I can and then Kreacher and mum shoo me away. I sit on the counter and tell them about school.

I munch on some decorated cookies and swing my feet. "Ellie, try not to cause too many problems next term, ok?" mum laughs. I grumble but nod. She sets up the gingerbread decorations and we stat to build and decorate a gingerbread mansion. Kreacher grumbles about the mess we're making but he's smiling. "Mum, the strange man I met in the halls, his eyes looked just like uncle Regulus'." I mumble after a while. Her hands stop moving and Kreacher's smile falters.

There's a knock at the door that makes us all jump. "Kreacher stay here with Ellie." Mum orders. I watch her hurry to the door then the sounds of muffled conversations. Kreacher starts to grumble, and I wonder why. "Did you get uncle Regulus' things from under my bed Kreacher?" I ask. Kreacher's eyes go wide, and he vanishes. I continue decorating until mum calls me.

"Ellie come here." she calls loudly. I groan and get up. The strange man is at the door. I freeze and tilt my head in confusion. "I know you. You're the confused man who was walking around the school." I gasp. He chuckles and looks at mum. "Ellie this is your father, Sirius Black." Mum sighs. I gape in shock and fall flat on the ground.

They both gasp in shock. "Ellie, are you ok?" mum bends down. I nod barely aware of the pain. They help me to my feet. "I need a drink." I mutter. Dad chuckles earning a hit from mum. We go into the kitchen and mum makes me a cup of hot cocoa. I poke dad's face. "Something about you seems familiar." I mumble. "Show her Sirius." mum smiles leaning against the wall. Dad gets up from the table and walks to the middle of the room where there's more space.

He takes a deep breath and transforms just like McGonagall does, but he turns into a giant dog with shaggy black hair. I gasp and fall out of my seat. "You're the dog that helped me when I was lost in the forest!" I shriek. He transforms back rubbing his ears. "Sensitive hearing Ellie." He winces. I apologize profusely. "Your mum can do it too." Dad smirks.

Mum walks to the center of the room as dad sits down. She smirks and transforms into a Slow Loris. "Cute but deadly." Dad chuckles. Mum transforms back. "I want to try!" I gasp. Mum puts her head in her hands. "Ellie it's not exactly something you can try. It's really dangerous." Dad has a note of concern in his voice. I pout and return to my gingerbread mansion. Mum sits in dad's lap, and they have a whispered conversation.

Kreacher returns and stares at dad. I put the finishing touches on my mansion and smile. Dad tries to sneak a bite and I knock his hand away. "Not until I take pictures." I scold. I hurry up to my room to grab my camera. I jump down the stairs in my hurry to get back. "She's back!" dad cheers. I take several photos before allowing dad to eat.

"Yummy!" he mumbles through a mouthful of sweets. I take pictures of mum and dad eating the sweet construction and Kreacher scolding them for making a mess. I turn the camera enough for me to be in the frame and take a few pictures of me rolling my eyes at the way the three of them interact.

I wake early the next morning and head downstairs. No one is awake and Kreacher is in the garden. I stumble sleepily into the living room and click the tv on. The early morning cartoons are just beginning, and I grab a candy cane from the tree we put up yesterday. Dad comes downstairs an hour later. I pat the spot next to me on the couch and we settle in to watch tv together.

I wake up back in my bed and yawn. It's past noon and my stomach is growling like crazy. I toss and turn not wanting to leave the warmth of my bed. "Ellie, are you awake? Do you want lunch?" mum calls. I run down to the kitchen so fast I can't stop myself and run smack into the wall falling to the floor with a thump. I whimper as the pain hits me.

Mum helps me to my feet while dad stares in shock. "What are you, a baby fox?" dad laughs. I rub my face and shake my head to make sure I'm ok. Kreacher made a winter vegetable chowder with fresh bread. It's so delicious I start dancing in my seat my pain completely forgotten.

Christmas morning I'm woken by the feeling of people in my bed. "Time to wake up sleepy head!" mum and dad yell simultaneously. I wince and cover my head with the pillow and roll over. "Phase two?" mum asks. "Phase two!" dad chuckles. Their weight leaves my bed and I fall back asleep until I feel something licking my face. My eyes flutter open to see a kitten right next to me.

It's white as snow with a black heart shaped nose and piercing blue eyes. I gasp and the kitten jumps backwards in surprise. I sit up and the kitten crawls into my lap mewling softly. I start shaking and mum puts a hand on my shoulder. "What do you want to name her Ellie?" she asks. I think it over for a minute. "Serenity." I pet the kitten who's now purring contentedly in my lap.

I pick the kitten up and take her downstairs with us where the smells of dinner being prepared fill the morning air. I play with the kitten all morning until mum makes me shower. Much to mother's displeasure dad bought me a motorbike and spends the afternoon teaching me how to ride.

I have a natural instinct that takes over and I am riding just fine by myself by the end of the day. Dad helps me take the bike to the shed and we head inside where dinner is ready. I fill dad in on my first year and mum sprinkles in stories of me growing up.

I don't want to return to school. I want to stay at home with my parents and Kreacher. Dad stays home with Kreacher while mum takes me to the station. I cling to her crying like a baby. "Ellie, you have to go to school. Come on before you miss the train." mum tries to pull me towards the train.

She spots Draco and waves him over to help. With his help she manages to pry me off of her faster and Draco pulls me onto the train. I lay on the compartment floor crying my eyes out. I sniffle and rub my eyes when I'm done. "Really now Ellie. Are you going to be like this every time?" Draco scoffs. The sound of Serenity meowing gets my attention and I climb onto the seat to let her out.

She curls up in my lap purring softly. I stroke her soft fur and slowly calm down. I end up lying down on the seat with Serenity and falling asleep. Draco nudges me awake and I yawn. "Aww, you cried again." Blaise teases. Serenity wakes up next to me and stares curiously at the boys who are now in the compartment. "Time to go Serenity." I murmur. I gather my things and Serenity walks behind me keeping pace despite the fact she's so tiny.

I have to scoop her up inside because she starts a fight with Mrs. Norris. "Now, now Serenity." I whisper. I wait until Mrs. Norris streaks around the corner before letting Serenity down. She follows me down to the dorm and jumps on my bed before I can. I set up her cage and things while she gets used to the room. I change into my pajamas and go back to sleep.

Pansy wakes me for dinner and follow her tiredly. "Blaise said you cried earlier." She smirks. I groan and stomp my feet. "It wasn't even like that!" I grumble as the smell if food reaches us. We hurry into the hall and take a seat on either side of Draco. "Someone has a follower." Theo chuckles. I look behind me and see Serenity sitting patiently at my feet. I pat my lap and she jumps onto the bench and onto my lap curling up but keeping a watchful eye.

Lessons begin again and I have to make Serenity stay in the room and not follow me. I'm returning from charms when the kitten bolts down the corridor towards me. She leaps into my arms purring. "She's got quite a knack for finding you." Astoria giggles. Serenity perches on my shoulder as we walk talking about the homework and today's lesson.

Serenity spots Mrs. Norris in the Entrance Hall and bounds towards the other cat starting a fight. Mrs. Norris hisses and runs off yowling. Blaise who's just coming up from the dungeons grabs Serenity before she can chase Mrs. Norris. I run over and Serenity leaps into my arms. I start scolding her and she meows back like she understands but I don't think she cares. "Why does your cat have beef with Mrs. Norris?" Blaise asks.

"How should I now?!" I scoff. Serenity starts meowing and jumps out of my arms onto Blaise. An orange lion looking cat comes streaking down the stairs after a rat and I jump. Serenity starts meowing at Blaise like she's having a full-on conversation. I smile and shift my bag. "I'll pick her up later. You two keep on talking." I scratch the top of Serenity's head then leave. Blaise stands there watching me and Astoria go in open mouth shock.
