"Huh, but that's not what happened." Tohru
"Then what did happen?" Sakuya
"How do you know?" Hana
"Yeah! It's not like you were even out there with us yesterday to see how things went down." Uo
Tohru gets an extremely confused look on her face, leans over, and whispers in Sakuya's ear.
"I was there when Uo was attacked by a Vampire." Tohru
Sakuya whispers back saying.
"Attacked by a Vampire, but Uo just said she was in a car accident. Do you think they are lieing to us?" Sakuya
"Not intentionally. I think that something weird is going on with their memories." Tohru
"So your saying that somebody erased their memories of the attack, and replaced them with something else." Sakuya
"Yes. That explains what is going on here perfectly." Tohru
"Ok, but what I don't get is why they would erase the fact that you were with them when it happened." Sakuya
"I'll tell you why after school, but I don't think that Uo and Hana should be there." Tohru
"Why not? They deserve to know what happened too." Sakuya
"It's to dangerous. What if something happens to them. I can't bare the thought of either of them getting hurt. It's just to much; I want to cry just thinking about it." Tohru
"Don't cry. Fine I won't say anything, but we have to tell them something about our little talk after school." Sakuya
"We'll tell them that I'm going over to your place for studying and dinner." Tohru
"Is that what we're doing, because you know how I feel about lieing?" Sakuya
"Yes, I'll tell you what's going on over dinner." Tohru
"Ok, See you then." Sakuya
Tohru nods to Sakuya, turns to Uo, and says.
"I'm glad you're feeling better, but you should still go home and get some rest." Tohru
"Fine. Hana Tohru want to come over to my place to study?" Uo
"Sure. When should I be there?" Hana
"An hour after school ends." Uo
"Sorry Uo, but I already have plans." Tohru
"Really?" Hana
"Yeah, I'm going over to Sakuya's place to study." Tohru
"And then we are going to have some of Tohru's delicious cooking afterwards." Sakuya
"Well then have fun you two." Uo
"We will." Tohru
The four friends sit in their seats with happy smiles on their faces.
After school Tohru follows Sakuya back to his house with Kuro asleep on her head. When they get there the two of them begin digging into their homework. It takes awhile, but they manage to get through all of it. When all the work is done Tohru goes to the kitchen to make dinner. It took a little time, but Tohru cooks a very delicious super for the three of them. With all the food laid out on the table Tohru calls everyone to the table saying.
"Sakuya, Kuro, dinner is ready. Come and get it." Tohru
Sakuya and Kuro come, and sit on opposite sides of the table. Tohru sits next to Kuro to make it easier to explain things to Sakuya. They eat the meal peacefully enough, before Sakuya can't take anymore suspense, and says.
"Are you going to tell me what in the world is going on or what?" Sakuya
Tohru nods to Sakuya, looks at Kuro, and says.
"Kuro could you open your mouth please?" Tohru
"This is going to be so troublesome I could just die." Kuro
Kuro opens his mouth, and is surprised when Tohru jams her bare arm in his mouth. Figuring out what she is up to Kuro drinks his fill. As soon as he is done Tohru removes her arm, and the chain appears along with Kuro's weapon. Tohru sees this, and says.
"Kuro you can put away the weapon there is no danger here." Tohru
Kuro nods, and the weapon disappears from his hands. Meanwhile Sakuya has a very shocked look on his face. He manages to collect himself, and says.
"So you're a Servamps Eve. In that case there is something I need to tell you too." Sakuya
"What is it? You know you can tell me anything." Tohru
"I'm a Vampire like Belkia." Sakuya
"How did you know the name of the Vampire that attacked Uo?" Tohru
"You work for Tsubaki don't you." Kuro
"Yeah, I knew he was in the area, but I had no idea that you guys would get caught up in this. I especially didn't know that he would attack Uo. Belkia is going to pay dearly for that the next time I see him. I warned him that there would be severe consequences if he hurt my friends." Sakuya
Tohru smiles at Sakuya, and says.
"Sakuya do you think there is any way for you to remain uninvolved in this fight that Tsubaki started?" Tohru
"Huh?" Sakuya
"You know become a neutral party so that way everything can stay just like it is now." Tohru
"Not sure, but I could ask." Sakuya
"Thanks Sakuya. It would be horrible if you got hurt." Tohru
"It would be equally horrible if I was forced to hurt you." Sakuya
The two friends nod to each other, and go back to eating their dinner.
Tohru leaves for work happy that everything went so well with Sakuya. When she gets there Tohru changes into her work clothes, and places a sleeping Kuro on her head. Kuro snuggles into her bandanna, and continues to doze off peacefully. As she is working Tohru begins wondering just how much things have changed for her in the space of a few days. Tohru continues working hard occasionally reaching up to pet Kuro when no one is looking. Tohru continues working until her shift ends, and then goes home for the night. As Tohru and Kuro are settling down Kuro watches Tohru stare out the window with her mothers picture next to her. Kuro could tell that Tohru is thinking about the painful things that have happened to her recently, Kuro wants Tohru to be happy, but he realizes that it will take awhile for her to lift herself up under the weight of her grief. After awhile Tohru dries her eyes, and turns around to go to bed. This time Tohru picks Kuro up from his cat bed, and crawls into her own with Kuro held firmly, but gently in the girls quivering arms. It doesn't take long for Tohru to drift off into a peaceful slumber. Kuro doesn't mind being cuddled by Tohru, and says.
"Be soothed by my cuteness Tohru." Kuro
Tohru stirs in her sleep giggling a little bit when those words register in her sleeping brain. Kuro drifts off to sleep after that with a happy smile on his face.
The next morning Tohru and Kuro wake up like they do every morning, and go about their morning as usual. Tohru and Kuro go to school after they eat breakfast, and when the school day ends they are going home when it starts to rain even though the sun is shining. Everything goes red around them, and they hear the click click of wooden sandals on the pavement. A man in a kimono walks up to them, and says.
"Oh hey you. Why don't you tell me a story. Something good; I want to know the most interesting thing that has happened to you." ?
"Tell him how your kitty turned out to be a Vampire, or maybe how you used him to try and murder a brilliant street magician who was just putting on a good show." Belkia
"I have a feeling that this is going to be a real pain." Kuro
"That's not true Belkia. I didn't try to kill you. I just wanted to stop you from hurting people, and find out what is going on; So I had Kuro beat you up enough that you couldn't hurt anyone, but could still be interrogated." Tohru
The man in the kimono gets an annoyed look on his face, and waits for me to say something. Tohru notices his red eyes and fangs then says.
"Wait so is he a Vampire too?" Tohru
The man laughs maniacally for awhile, gets a bored look on his face, and says.
"I'm already bored." ?
Kuro moves around on Tohru's shoulder, she looks at him, and says.
"Why are you trying to hide from him? Wait do you know this guy Kuro?" Tohru
"Not a clue, but he has a really crazy look in his eyes." Kuro
"Wonderful I've been looking for this tiny fiend. Thanks for picking him up for me." ?
Tohru looks around for her bag only to find it gone. Belkia moves his arms around, and says.
"Ugh, it was so cramped in there. Your very late my precious Tsu-Tsu." Belkia
Tohru and Kuro get funny looks on their faces, and Tohru says.
"Precious Tsu-Tsu..." Tohru
"But you did come for me. I'll forgive you Tsu-Tsu." Belkia
"And you thought it was a good idea to lie to your master." ?
"Belkia's Master; Tsubaki. You must be him. That was fast. Why are you here?" Tohru
"Now might not be the best time to ask questions. We should get out of here while we can." Kuro
"Yes; I am the one called Tsubaki so what. I'm the one whose chosen to challenge the both of you so what. And I'm also the one who wants to massacre lots of Vampires and humans so what." Tsubaki
Tsubaki grabs Kuro off Tohru's shoulder by the head, and throws him to the ground. He transformed as soon as he hit the ground. Tsubaki puts his arm down, and says.
"I'm feeling a bit bored and depressed today. You know what would help Sleepy Ash of Sloth. You could tell me a really interesting story. If you don't I'll have no choice. I'll just have to go to war." Tsubaki
"Huh what are you talking about?" Tohru
"Come on Big Brother." Tsubaki
"Big Brother? Your Kuro's little brother?" Tohru
"No he must be off his rocker. I've never met him before." Kuro
He laughs maniacally, and says.
"Terrible, heartbreaking. So you don't know who I am either. None of my Servamp siblings know I existed. Can you imagine?" Tsubaki
More maniacal laughter pours from his mouth, and then he says.
"Say; Do you know how many Servamps there are kid?" Tsubaki
"There's seven of us." Kuro
"Sure it's Seven: 1. Sloth, 2. Pride, 3. Envy, 4. Wrath, 5. Greed, 6. Gluttony, 7. Lust. You might think these Seven are the only true Vampires in the world, but there is actually one more in the family. I'm the Servamp of Melancholy. The eighth true Vampire in our line. My nick name is 'Who is Coming', and I am the youngest of the Servamps." Tsubaki
"Kuro you have so many siblings. Is it cause you are a cat?" Tohru
"No, and besides I'm the only cat of the litter." Kuro
"He's right this is what I can transform into." Tsubaki
"Can you please get off of me if you are going to chase each other." Tohru
"So your a dog; How cute." Tohru
"Don't insult me by calling me that. My form is a fox." Tsubaki
"Oh right; I'm sorry!" Tohru
Tsubaki looks at Tohru with an incredulous look on his face, and then begins to maniacally laugh again. When he is finished he says.
"Not interesting at all." Tsubaki
Belkia crawls up his back, and says.
"Tsu-Tsu; These two idiots stopped me from murdering those people like you ordered me to. They ruined everything." Belkia
Tohru starts crying as soon as he finished saying that. The very thought of all those people dieing breaks her heart making her sob. Tsubaki sees Tohru, and figures out why she is crying all of a sudden. He lifts his head from his sleeve, and says.
"Why are you crying over something like this? After all you attacked this Vampire because you didn't like him it's the same thing. Tell me do you know how many people died in this town yesterday. No idea right? Then does it really matter how many of them we killed? Does it make a difference? No I think not." Tsubaki
"Of course it matters think of all those families whose loved ones won't be coming home ever again." Tohru
Shock displays itself on his face, and he says.
"That is a valid point, but they'd all be more interesting if they could only realize they're an integral part of my big plans for the future; Especially you. My dear brother, little Sleepy Ash." Tsubaki
While he is saying this Tsubaki kicks Kuro off Tohru's shoulder, and steps down hard on his chest. He takes a sword out of his sleeve, and says.
"Hey don't just lie there. Now that we're together why don't we play. All of you have forgotten about me. No you want to forget. I won't let you. I want us to reunite in a great big party. Why don't you call the rest of our siblings here for me brother. My teacher would be so happy you could gather together in one place. Then I could make this world regret everything; It's entire worthless existence." Tsubaki
Tsubaki tries to attack Tohru, and Kuro blocks the attack knocking Tsubaki back. He goes in for another attack which is also blocked. Tohru says.
"Kuro drink my blood." Tohru
"No thanks." Kuro
"Please don't attack him anymore Tsubaki. Why do you want to start a war to begin with?" Tohru
Tsubaki throws Kuro to the ground, and Tohru says.
"Kuro!" Tohru
Tsubaki picks Tohru up by the throat, and says.
"Because it would be interesting. I don't really care who lives or dies. The only thing that matters to me is that it is entertaining to witness. A kid like you has no idea how I feel. Not just you nobody gets me. No one in the world truly understands how I yearn." Tsubaki
Tohru looks down at Tsubaki, and understands what is causing him so much pain. She cups his hand with her own hands, and says.
"It must be so lonely to have no one in the world that you can relate to, but this is not the way to express your pain. Bringing more pain into this world will not soothe the painful loneliness in your own heart." Tohru
It astounds Tsubaki that such a seemingly unintelligent girl could be so insightful about other people's feelings. It makes him think that maybe just maybe there is someone in this world that can be made to understand him. To thank her for this startling realization Tsubaki sets her on her feet, puts the sword he was going to use to murder her in her hand, and says.
"Your insightfulness is very interesting. To thank you for what you have done for me today I give you this sword made of camellia flowers. It is now your weapon to kill or protect anyone you want to. It will be passed down to your descendants until the end of time." Tsubaki
Tsubaki, Tohru, and Kuro watch as the sword turns into a flash of red light, and attaches itself onto the back of Tohru's hand in the form of a tattoo of a camellia flower. As Tohru is looking at the tattoo on her hand she and Kuro disappear in a pink mist before Tsubaki's very eyes.
