"Oh no. I just went out back to my secret base." Yuki
"What you have a secret base? You mean like a fort, or an underground hideout? That sounds so exciting." Tohru
"I don't think it's quite as elaborate as what you're thinking, but I'll tell you what next time I'll take you with me." Yuki
"What do you really mean it? I'm going to a secret base I've always wanted to see one in person. The neighbourhood boys had one when I was a kid, but they told me girls weren't allowed. I can't wait to see..." Tohru
Shigurae and Kyo return home at that exact moment. Kyo slams the door open, and Shigurae says.
"Kyo just listen to me." Shigurae
"I don't want to hear it. You think it's fun jerking me around like that." Kyo
"Now hold on. Ok it was a little bit fun, but that was not why I did it. It was for your own good, and don't forget it was Akito's decision." Shigurae
"Shut-up I don't give a damn about Akito." Kyo
"Oh. Are you hungry? I made you some lunch." Tohru
"Shut-up." Kyo
"Kyo don't take this out on Tohru, and use the front door next time, and take off your shoes." Shigurae
"You're setting a fine example." Yuki
"This is the first time I've seen you in a suit. It looks good on you." Tohru
"Hm you don't say." Shigurae
"You look like a butler." Yuki
"Ah, lunch is ready." Shigurae
"Yes, but shouldn't we see about Kyo?" Tohru
"Oh him he just needs to let off some steam. He's angry I made him take an entrance exam." Shigurae
"An entrance exam? For what?" Tohru
"Funny you should ask. As of today Kyo is officially the newest student at your school, and he is going to be living with us from now on." Shigurae
"Don't you take a single bite. Get out!" Yuki
"Well I had a feeling you'd be upset. You see Kyo pulled a bit of a vanishing act on us. Just up and disappeared on us for four months. Do you know where he disappeared to? He was up on a mountain top training." Shigurae
"What kind of training?" Tohru
"Let me guess he's been meditating under waterfalls, and fighting bears." Yuki
"I'm not so sure about that part. The point is Kyo really wants to beat Yuki." Shigurae
Kuro yawns, and jumps on Tohru's head to take a nap. Yuki frowns, and says.
"Stupid cat." Yuki
'So Kyo spent all that time trying to beat Yuki, and Yuki doesn't really seem to like Kyo at all either. This is just like the old story. After the rat tricked the cat; The cat must have been angry for a long long time. Maybe that's why Yuki and Kyo don't get along. I don't know, and somehow I get the feeling that he wouldn't want to talk about it with me.' Tohru
The next morning is Kyo's first day of school. Before class all of the girls mob him with questions. Tohru sees Kyo's hair stand on end from fear, and says.
"Poor Kyo he looks so scared." Tohru
"There the same. His electric signals are exactly the same as Yuki's. I don't know, but there is something about them that is almost inhuman." Hana
When Hana says this Tohru internally freaks out, and Uo says.
"Hana that's just rude. Uh hey question so this new guy is he really your cousin or what?" Uo
"That's a very good question Yuki Soma. So you got an answer." Sakuya
"Yes that is the rumour going around. I'd prefer to leave it at that." Yuki
After Yuki says this Kyo try's to ditch the mob of girls, and one of the fan club girls says.
"Hey I thought we were talking. Wait come back ." fan club girls
The second of the fan club girls in their class grabs his arm, and Kyo removes her arm forcefully. The girl starts crying, and says.
"What are you doing?" fan club girl
"Kyo I don't think that is a good idea." Tohru
The girls begin objecting, and Kyo shouts.
"Leave me alone." Kyo
"Amazing that proves it he's definitely related to prince Yuki. I can't believe he jumped. Hey aren't you forgetting about me I did just get my arm ripped off." fan club girls
"That was hysterical. He looked like a cat trying to get out of a bath." Uo
"Poor Kyo." Tohru
'He really is like the cat from the old story mom. He must feel so alone right now, but who knows maybe one day we can be friends.' Tohru
Yuki finds Kyo outside the school building panting from all the pent up anxiety, and says.
"Hey! What were you trying to prove pulling a stunt like that? Think if you act like an idiot I'm the one that's going to hear about it." Yuki
"It serves you right. Why do you want to go to a school with all these crazy giggling girls anyway?" Kyo
"I suppose you'd prefer I live my life in fear of being transformed. You sound like Akito he thought I should attend an all boys academy too. Which is why I came here to get away from him, and out of that house." Yuki
"What do you know? You're a spoiled little rat. You want out fine, but as for me I'm going to prove it once and for all that I'm better than you. And then I'm going to take my place as a true member of this family. I'm not going to be left out anymore. Do you hear me rat boy?" Yuki
"No! I am so sorry, but I saw what was going on, and I guess I just panicked. I'm sorry that you're angry, but fighting at school isn't a good idea. You'll get into huge trouble if they catch you, and on your first..." Tohru
"Shut-up. Who do you think you are? This is between me, and him it's got nothing to do with you. You stupid little girl from now on just stay the hell away from me." Kyo
"Ok that was maximum rage. He hates me that's all there is to it he really hates me." Tohru
"You are truly an idiot." Yuki
"So what you're gonna hit me now?" Kyo
"And wouldn't it hurt more if I didn't." Yuki
Yuki turns, and walks away.
Tohru is sitting in the hall thinking.
'I remember when I first heard the story of the Zodiac animals all I could think about was the poor cat. While all the other animals were having a wonderful time at the banquet the cat was still lying in it's bed dreaming of a party that would never come. 'I know I won't be a dog anymore I'll be a cat too.' And I really meant it I wanted to show the cat that no matter what he had a friend. I like cats so much. I know I would've been the first to join a year of the cat fan club. If there was such a thing, and now he hates me. I'm such a fool mom a real fool.' Tohru
Tohru's friends show up, and Hana says.
"Incoming Tohru's electric signals." Hana
"There she is." Uo
"Huh?" Tohru
"Hey What are you doing kneeling in the hall?" Uo
Tohru bangs her head, and says.
"I can't believe I did it again. I bumped my head that almost hurt as much as the first time. Look I'm crying it hurt so bad." Tohru
"I would worry, but I don't think her brain damage could get any worse." Uo
Back at the house Shigurae says.
"So you're home had enough school for one day huh?" Shigurae
"I don't want to live in this house anymore." Kyo
"If you can train on a mountain top for four months I think you can endure more than three days here." Shigurae
"I said such terrible things to her, terrible." Kyo
"And by her I take it you mean Tohru? Let me guess you lost your temper and yelled at her again right? You know you shouldn't do that if you're just going to regret it. Not to bright now is it." Shigurae
"Save your breath I'm just not meant to get along with other people period end of story." Kyo
"Oh sure some people just aren't, but you're not one of them. You lack experience that's all. For example I'm sure you could smash this table to bits with your bare hands, but I'm equally sure you could punch the table without breaking it, and why is that because your training has taught you to control your fists. At least I should hope so after four months of fighting bears..." Shigurae
"I didn't fight bears!" Kyo
"My point is it takes as much training to get along with people. Only training by yourself in the mountains won't do you any good. You need to surround yourself with others as you get to know them you'll take the chance that you'll end up hurting them, or they'll end up hurting you one of those things might very well happen. That's the only way we learn about others, and about ourselves. You're a black belt in martial arts, but I guess you still got a white belt in social skills. Some day you're going to meet someone who genuinely wants to be your friend, and you be theirs, but if you don't keep training you won't be ready when that happens." Shigurae
"It'll never happen anyway." Kyo
"Ah-ah. Never say never." Shigurae
"Ok fine maybe if I meet somebody with brain damage or something." Kyo
"That's the spirit." Shigurae
After school Tohru leaves with her friends, Licht walks up to her, and says.
"Hey Tohru. Want me walk you to work?" Licht
"Hey Jekyll. Sure that sounds like fun." Tohru
Licht nods, and the two of them walk away from the group. What none of them realized was that Yuki Soma saw the whole thing, and thought that Tohru might be being kidnapped by a strange man. Licht and Tohru are walking down the street toward the building Tohru works in thoroughly enjoying their time together. Licht and Tohru arrive at Tohru's job with minutes to spare. Tohru turns to face Licht, and says.
"Well we're here. I'll see you tomorrow bye Jekyll." Tohru
"See you tomorrow Tohru." Licht
Licht turns, and walks away while Tohru goes into the building to get to work.
Right after Shigurae says this Yuki opens his office door, and says.
"I'm home." Yuki
"Ah, so you are. Is Tohru not with you?" Shigurae
"She had to work this evening, but she should be done by 11:00pm. I'm thinking about picking her up." Yuki
"That's probably a good idea. There are some real weirdos around here." Shigurae
"Speaking of weirdos I saw Miss Honda leave school with some strange guy." Yuki
"Hmm I wonder who it could be, and if we should be worried about her." Shigurae
Yuki shrugs, and walks away trying once again not to be worried.
Licht picks Tohru up from work, and walks her to the path that leads to the home Tohru is staying in, and says.
"Are you sure you don't want me to walk you the rest of the way home?" Licht
"I'm sure Jekyll. I'll be fine from here." Tohru
"Ok. If you need anything just call, and I'll fly right over." Licht
Tohru giggles, and says.
"Bye Jekyll." Tohru
"Bye Tohru." Licht
Licht walks away, and Tohru walks down the path that leads home.
As she is walking Tohru thinks.
'Another days work over and done, but it's late I wonder if anyone's still awake. I hope Kyo at least got some dinner tonight if he wasn't to angry to eat again. Maybe I could...Oh but I'm probably the last person he wants to see.'Just stay the hell away from me.' No one's ever hated me before I don't know what to do.'Just be yourself you'll be fine'."Yes you're right mom." I just have to keep trying.' Tohru
Some bushes rattle, and Tohru thinks.
'Huh? What was that?Is there somebody else here."Oh no." What if it's one of those weirdos Shigurae warned me about.' Tohru
Tohru swings her bag, and hits the person behind her on the head. Tohru see's it's Kyo, and thinks.
'Kyo he's going to think I thought he was a stocker. Oh but I guess he did. Oh but I can't tell him that him that.' Tohru
Kyo turns around, and Tohru says.
"Oh wait sorry it was an accident. I was just stretching my arm, and whoops funny how things like that happen huh. But hey it's nice to see you." Tohru
"Quite Babbling. If you got something to say say it." Kyo
"Kyo?" Tohru
"What?" Kyo
"Uh I don't know what to say." Tohru
"Then don't say anything." Kyo
"I'm sorry." Tohru
"No don't be. Say or don't say whatever you want, and you don't have to you know stay away. Ah just hit me again if your angry." Kyo
'I think is he? He's trying to apologize for this morning isn't he. Maybe that's why he came out here to meet me. So does that mean the other day after school I think he was trying to apologize to me then too.' Tohru
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry if I gave you the wrong idea. I only hit you, because I thought you were a stocker." Tohru
"Oh great." Kyo
"So you see it wasn't, because I'm mad at you. That's not it at all in fact I really like you. I've always liked the cat from the Zodiac. What I mean is I hope maybe we can be friends." Tohru
'Some day you're going to meet someone who truly wants to be your friend.' Shigurae
"What are you supposed to be some year of the cat fan club? Come on lets go back." Kyo
'I think I understand Kyo a little better now. He doesn't always mean to get angry. Sometimes it's hard for him to say how he really feels. Deep down I believe he truly is a nice person. Even though he tries to hide it most of the time.' Tohru
The next morning comes, and everybody is eating breakfast. Shiguray starts the conversation by saying.
"Kyo I heard you gave Tohru a little scare while you were out prowling around last night. Kyo-ho's a stocker, Kyo-ho's a stocker." Shigurae
"You are so full of it, and you next time you need someone to walk you home don't look at me." Kyo
"That's ok. Anyway I'd much rather see you here at the table like this more often. I'm glad you're eating. How do you like the food?" Tohru
