"Thanks Sakuya." Tohru
Tohru hangs up, and they wait for Kyo to get back. After awhile Kyo and Sakuya walk up, and Kuro jumps onto Tohru's head then settles down to finish his nap. Everybody walks home in the manner that Haru suggested with only minor grumbling from Licht.
When they get home Shigurae starts laughing while saying.
"So you came home looking like that did you." Shigurae
"It's not funny." Kyo
They put Yuki to bed, and Shigurae says.
"There we'll let him sleep for while. Looks like it was just a mild attack he still has a slight fever, but he'll be alright." Shigurae
"Thank goodness." Tohru
"Sorry for the scare Tohru, but it's really ok. You can go back to school now if you want." Shigurae
"If you think she's going to do that you obviously don't know The Saint that well do you." Hyde
"Oh Hyde you're still here, and you're right. I just wouldn't feel right going back knowing that he's lying here sick. I'm sure Mom'll understand If I miss a day, besides I feel a little bit responsible. I should have asked him to stay home today. His cold might not have gotten this bad." Tohru
"I'll tell you what. How about I go to the school, and pick up your things for you." Shigurae
"You really don't have to go to all that trouble." Tohru
"No, no, no trouble at all. In the mean time Kyo why don't you call Hatori?" Shigurae
"Why do I got to do it?" Kyo
"Watch yourself though Hatori's pretty over worked these days so he's probably not in the best of moods. From what I hear practically the entire family has come down with the flu." Shigurae
Haru transforms, and says.
"I'll call him. Where's the phone again?" Haru
"Dammit put some clothes on first." Kyo
Shigurae leaves to get Tohru's homework while asking Tohru to look after Yuki while he's gone. Meanwhile Haru is calling the doctor with Kyo there waiting to hear what going on. When Haru gets off the phone Kyo says.
"So what's Hatori got to say?" Kyo
"He sounded mad at me for some reason. Strange huh." Haru
"That's what happens when you disappear for three days. So what now? I guess we got that damn rat taken care of. You ready to finish our fight?" Kyo
"Nah forget it. You really have gotten stronger Kyo. I think I need more training." Haru
"Hold it right there. You think you can pick a fight, and Just walk away when ever you feel like it huh? Just cause you changed back to White Haru doesn't mean you can..." Kyo
"So you're not Black Haru anymore." Tohru
"Ah no." Haru
"I'm sorry it's just you seem like a completely different person." Tohru
"Hows Yuki?" Haru
"He's still sleeping. Don't attack him while he's passed out Kyo." Haru
"Shut-up! What good does it do me if I beat him with a cheap trick like that? The day I knock that damn rat on his tail it's going to be fair and square. Hell with it I'm going back to school." Kyo
"Yuki and Kyo do they still get in fist fights everyday?" Haru
"No, but they argue just about every time they see each other." Tohru
"Huh, well that means they're getting along a little better at least. It wasn't long ago that the idea would've seemed pretty hopeless." Haru
"No, hopeless?" Tohru
"That's how it seemed, but I can tell they've both changed since then. There used to be so much tension between them that if they were in the same room you could feel it in the air. Things seem much more relaxed now. It could be because you're here." Haru
"No I doubt I could've made that much of a difference." Tohru
"He's right Tohru. You have that effect on people." Licht
"You think so Jekyll?" Tohru
"I do. Have you finished getting the ice ready Yuki's fever is concerning?" Licht
"It's right here. I'll go give it to him." Tohru
Tohru rushes out the door, and Haru moves to follow her, but Licht gets in the way saying.
"Where do you think you're going?" Licht
"To check on Yuki." Haru
"Not while Tohru's in there you're not." Licht
"'What do you think I'm going to do hurt her?" Haru
"After what you said earlier the thought had crossed my mind." Licht
"Well don't I'm fine now." Haru
Licht thinks about this, and says.
"Fine, but I have to be in the room." Licht
"I want to be friends with Tohru, and I promise she is in no danger from me. Please believe me Licht?" Haru
"We'll see." Licht
As they are going to Yuki's room Haru tells Tohru why he likes Yuki so much, and then the conversation continues saying.
"That's a wonderful story." Tohru
"I was surprised today too. Seeing Yuki next to you with that little smile on his face. That was a first for me. He never smiled like that when he lived at the main house. That's why I was thinking maybe it was your influence that's helped him to soften up a bit." Haru
Tohru looks at Licht who smirks, then back at Haru, and says.
"Could be." Tohru
Yuki wakes up, and sees Tohru and Haru standing over him.
Yuki rubs the sleep from his eyes, and says.
"Miss Honda." Yuki
"Hi welcome back." Tohru
"That's right I was...I hope I wasn't any trouble?" Yuki
"No it's alright." Tohru
"But how, how did I get here?" Yuki
"Hatsuharu transformed and carried you on his back." Tohru
"Well thank you. It must've been a sight." Yuki
"No I didn't mind at all. You were asleep by the time we got home, and since then I've been telling Tohru the story about why I like you." Haru
"What is that the only thing you can think of to talk about? I at least hope you didn't bore her with to many details." Yuki
"She seemed interested." Haru
"Hmm." Yuki
"It's ok it was a very nice story." Tohru
"Well don't pay attention to Haru he..." Yuki
The stress on Yuki's body makes him transform before he finishes his sentence. By the time the evening was over the rest of Tohru's family had come down with the cold, and Haru says.
"That's what happens when you sit out in the freezing air for hours playing Old Maid." Haru
Hatori spends the required time looking out for them with Tohru helping where she can.
Before Hatori has the chance to leave he looks at Tohru holding hands with another Eve, and he can't help but think that they belong together. When he's walking out the Tohru rushes out, and trips falls on top of him, but instead of the embarrassing form he is used to he looks at his reflection, and sees a mighty Dragon. Hatori looks at Tohru, and says.
"How did this happen?" Hatori
"At the New Years party Kyo, Kuro, and I went to I talked to All Of Love who is an extremely powerful psychic about our meeting, and he told me that your previous Zodiac form was not the one you were supposed to have. So I asked him if he could fix it, and he told me that he could, but I had to be certain that this is what I wanted him to do, because it is irreversible. I told him that such a kind man does not deserve to be embarrassed by himself after everything that he's been through, and then All Of Love asked me for the address to the main Soma estate. I gave it to him, and he said he would take care of it. That is how this happened." Tohru
"Thank you so much Tohru for the amazing gift you have given me, and if you are ever ill call on me immediately. I will come without delay." Hatori
"I will. I wish you happiness Hatori." Tohru
Hatori transforms with a smile on his face, and Tohru makes sure to close her eyes before she sees anything. Hatori dresses, and leaves to return home happy that things have gotten a little bit better.
What Tohru doesn't know is that her family, and Haru were watching the whole thing. Shigurae goes in the house, and calls his other best friend. Shigurae tells his friend everything knowing full well that everyone in the Soma family will know about it within the week. That being said they are amazed by Tohru's kindness toward their family despite all the darkness and pain that exists within the House of Soma. Shigurae comes up to Tohru, and says.
"Tohru could you come inside for a moment before you go out with your boyfriend, and buy the groceries on the way back?" Shigurae
"Yes Shigurae I'm coming." Tohru
A few minutes later everyone is sitting around the table, and Shigurae says.
"After the incident with your grandfather Kuro came to me telling me that Tohru needs a more permanent position in the household than being a live-in a maid. So it was decided that I would adopt Tohru as my daughter, but we would wait to tell anyone until the papers were finalized." Shigurae
"So the papers have been finalized then?" Yuki
"Yes they have been. This means that Tohru is now your cousin by adoption. Kyo why don't you look surprised by the news." Shigurae
"Because Kuro used this information to make sure I was allowed to go to the New Years party. Apparently being related to Tohru in any way gets you a lot of respect from vampires." Kyo
The rest of Tohru's family and friend takes the time to absorb what they just heard. Tohru hugs Shigurae, and then goes on her date with Licht.
While they are out Tohru and Licht do fun stuff around town, and the Prince Yuki fan club comes up to Tohru, and begins pestering her about being seen with some guy. Licht steps in between them, and says.
"Tohru is my girlfriend, and she can be seen with me anytime she likes." Licht
"Oh yeah since when?" Fan Club Girls
Licht goes on to tell those annoying girls the exact date that he started dating Tohru, and the Fan Club Girls are surprised that they got everything so wrong when they assumed that Tohru and Yuki were dating. The Prince Yuki Fan Club girls leave, and the couple continue on with their date. At the time Tohru usually does her shopping Tohru and Licht start doing the shopping, and by the time they are done Tohru has gotten everything she needs to make dinner. Licht smiles as Tohru, and Kuro are discussing what they are going to be having for dinner. Licht knows that he will ask Tohru to marry him as soon as she has graduated from high school, and then the two of them will go back to Vienna, and raise a family. Although the amount of time in between the two events will be discussed after the wedding. While he was thinking these things they arrive at the door of Tohru's home, and they say their goodbyes then Licht leaves to go back to his apartment.
Tohru is happy to legally be a member of the family, but she is still having a hard time adjusting to everything that she just found out. Tohru knows that she loves Shigurae as if he was the father she never got to have, but to have him actually be he father is something that she will have to adjust to. Tohru hopes that Shigurae will give her the time she needs to adjust to the fact that she has a family now, but Tohru is also very happy that this has happened. Tohru hopes that this doesn't cause them any problems with the main house. While Tohru is thinking about these things she is fixing dinner for her family. They are eating dinner in a relatively comfortable silence when Yuki puts his chop sticks down, and says.
"So Tohru what do you think of these developments?" Yuki
"It's going to takes some time to adjust, but I'll be alright." Tohru
"Then what's bothering you Tohru?" Yuki
"I don't remember having a father how am I supposed to know what it's like to have one?" Tohru
They can all tell that Tohru is having a harder time with this than they thought she would, but as her family they are determined to help her get through it.
Tohru goes to her mothers grave hoping that it will help her get through the things that are happening in her life, and while she is there she sees Who's Coming of Melancholy walking through the temple looking wistful and lost, but she has a feeling that she has helped him as much as she can. Tohru goes back to her contemplation, and when she looks at her reflection those words Melancholy spoke to her that day are more true than she could have imagined. Tohru really is the girl with the sad smile who gazes at people picking apart their problems, and trying to help them the best that she can. Tohru hopes that she will be able to be as cheerful as she usually is by the time she goes home to her family. Tohru says her goodbyes to her mom, and heads to White Water Hot Springs to see if a little relaxation will help her deal with everything. When she gets there Tohru calls home, and tells them that she will be home tomorrow after school. Tetsu takes her to her room, and Lilac comes into the room with a gift. When Tohru opens it she finds the key to this room, and enough clothes to fill the dresser. Tohru looks at Lilac, and says.
"What's this Lilac?" Tohru
"Tetsu and I talked to his father, and he has agreed to give this room to you for your very own. That way when ever you need to relax there will be a place ready and waiting." Lilac
Tohru gives Lilac a hug, and says.
"Thank you so much Lilac. This means more to me than you could imagine." Tohru
Tohru sobs out her frustration on Lilacs shoulder, and when she is done she is feeling much better. Tohru stands up, and goes to take a bath so she can soak away the rest of her anxiety.
Lilac tells Tetsu what happened with Tohru, and he instantly worried about her. Tetsu is glad that Tohru came here to recover from whatever has happened to cause her so much stress. Lilac is very happy that he can see his friend again, and that Tohru came to them when she needed help. Tetsu goes to the kitchen, and makes sure that they are serving all of Tohru's favorite foods for dinner. Lilac hopes that Tohru is happy and cheerful again by the time she leaves tomorrow. Both of them are worried about what has happened to Tohru, but they are encouraged by the improvement she has made in just the time she has been here.
Tohru gets out of the bath, and goes to her room to put on some of those nice clothes Lilac gave her. Tohru spends some time holding Kuro close to her, and petting him much more relaxed than she was before. Tohru knows that by tomorrow morning she will be ready to face everything that was stressing her out. Tohru will go home after school tomorrow, and continue living life with her new family. Tohru knows that they are probably very worried about her, but she will face everything the same way she has faced all the challenges that have come her way by never giving up. At dinner Tohru is very happy to find that they are serving all her favorites, and after dinner Tohru goes to bed with Kuro in her arms. Kuro snuggles into Tohru glad that his cuteness is helping Tohru just like it always has since the day that they met, and Kuro goes to sleep with a happy smile on his face.
