RWBY: Chosen King and Queen

Alright now that we are finally here, this is the end of what I would call the introduction arc. This is where I started to diverge from canon a little. How much I diverge from canon is for me to know and your guys to find out. So here is where things will pick up quickly.

Chapter 7: Invincible vs Unbeatable

In the arena of combat class there was an explosion from fire dust. From the dust came Drayce as he backflipped out of the cloud with what seemed like a new weapon. This weapon was akin to Cardin's new weapon but different. It was a double glaive with the polearm being black stainless steel. On the blades had a line that looked like fire, its color being red with the back being black. However unlike a regular double glaive before the blade could be connected to the pole, there was a circular handle that connected the blade to the staff. Lastly on the backside of the blade were these three cut out as if something rectangular was supposed to protrude from it.

"Ahhhhhhh!" Someone yelled as Drayce jumped back. Leaving the spot where he would have been hit if he didnt move. There was Cardin with his new weapon. It was a huge weapon, a glaive in itself, with a blade at the back relative to a spear and an axe like weapon in the front. The weapon handle was wrapped in a white cloth but the most noticeable feature of the weapon was that from the bottom spear up to the axe-like blade at the top was a blade that connected them with a red outline. "I won't let you get away!" Cardin swung the blade through the air and from it came a fire arc strike headed towards Drayce as he jumped in the air to avoid it.

'He is getting really good with that glaive these days.' Drayce thought.

"Don't forget about me," someone behind Drayce said as he quickly turned to block a heavy attack from Russel sending him to the ground. Before he hit the ground he righted himself and landed safely on his feet.

In the stands everyone watched as Drayce was put on the defensive, "With Rainier's help those CRDL guys are much better than previously," Ren said.

"Yeah it will be a little more difficult for even me to defeat one of them," Yang said, "It looks like the prince bit off more than he could chew."

"Yang you're just upset that he beat you last time you guys fought," Blake said, making Yang pout.

Ruby giggled at this and returned her attention to the fight.

Drayce now stood with Cardin and Russell opposing him. "Damn you guys are much better than I thought. I think it's time to turn it up a notch." With that saying Drayce's weapon started to shift as the pole separated and receded into the circular grip but left behind was one long chain that connected the now two blades. Lastly the cut outs from the back of the blades opened and from them was a steel like exhaust coming out slightly. "Lets dance."

Ruby in the stands squealed at the reveal. "So that's his last weapon huh," Weiss said seemingly unimpressed.

"Yep," said Zyaire, "But his fighting style with it is the most interesting and annoying in my opinion."

Drayce launched himself at Cardin and swung down at him with Cardin blocking with his weapon. Cardin began to push him back with him being the stronger of the two. However from the exhaust points came something that caught Cardin off guard. It wasn't fire or smoke but it was water and began to push back against him. 'Oh shit,' Cardin thought. As Drayce cut at him causing Cardin to be hit back. Russell came at Drayce but then Drayce, surprisingly to Russell, threw his other blade at him. Russell however was able to dodge it in time, but unfortunately was unable to realize quickly that the blades were connected by a chain. With the element of surprise, Drayce pulled back the sword and slashed against his back and kicked him towards Cardin.

Cardin finally recovered and silently communicated with Russell and they both charged at him. Drayce threw one sword at them only for them to avoid it and keep moving. Cardin used his spear tip and shoved it into the ground to propel himself up into the air and over Drayce so that they could both attack him. Drayce threw his other weapon at Cardin only for him to deflect it away. Cardin and Russell smirked thinking they had him.

Zyaire sighed at this, "And this is why I hate it when I have to fight him while using that thing."

Everyone in the stands looked at him with curiosity then back to the fight as Drayce smirked and took a hold on the chain and pulled them making the blades come back. Although with just the speed they were going, they were not going to make it to Drayce in time. With that being said Drayce ran his aura through the chains to the blades to activate the dust making water come out of the exhaust again and speed towards his opponents making them duck as Drayce had his weapons back but instead of holding them by the handle held it by the chain as he began to twirl them around as they attacked both Cardin and Russell in a fury. They were able to dodge most of it but were scrapped sometimes as they made their way to Drayce.

"Sorry guys but this is where you fall." He began to twirl the faster as his arms began to blur and to add insult to injury he fed his aura into the blades making water to again spew out of the blades making them even faster. The blades were too fast for either of them to see as they cut thousands of times depleting their auras. Drayce stopped feeding his weapon and slowly stopped spinning them. The floors had millions of scratch marks on them to which Glynda had to fix. "The winner is Drayce," Glynda said.

Drayce smiled slightly, "Yeah but CRDL were good. I didn't really want to use that but they forced me to."

"I hate that weapon so much," Cardin said, making all the students laugh and Zyaire grimaced as he knew how it felt and hated the weapon too.

Later in the cafeteria

"Well that was a good fight and I finally got to see what all of your weapons can do," Ruby said.

"Tell that to my sore muscles," Cardin said.

Drayce chuckled as he sipped his tea, "Come on Cardin it was a good fight though." Cardin just turned away, pouting. Cardin and Russell after some time started hanging out with everyone else at times. Of course it wasn't immediate as multiple people had problems with letting them in but after proving themselves over and over most of them were okay with it. "Anyway yeah I can confidently say that you all have seen all the weapons I have."

"So which is your favorite?" Yang asked.

Drayce thought about it for a second then came up with an answer, "Honestly, I don't know but the ones I use the most are Dragon's Heir and Solar Eclipse. While Leviathan, as you all saw, gives me range and Lunar Eclipse lets me control mid range combat with precision. I just like the simplicity of both swords more."

"So if you were to fight Pyrrha, which would you use?" Nora asked.

"Nora-" started the rest of team JNPR but Drayce stopped them with a raised hand.

"It's fine and I'm sure Pyrrha wants to know too," everyone now listens, very curious to his answer and after pondering he had his answer. "I'd probably have to use both and only those two. Leviathan won't do much because of her shield. Lunar alone would have a hard time getting through her defenses and I can't dual wield it because it's a big target that screams, 'knock me away'. So I just have to beat her with my own swordsmanship and techniques. There is little that can be done, her defenses are solid." Pyrrha blushed at the praise. "With that said."

Drayce stood up and looked at Pyrrha. Argus and Zyaire were smiling like crazy with the latter saying, "Finally. We get to see this."

"I wanted to see if you could defeat Argus before I asked," Argus shrugged his shoulders his fight with Ms. Invincible Girl was a marvel but in the end, she was able to withstand his semblance onslaught with the help of her semblance and won with an aura 30-0. "I would like to fight you, next combat class. I want to know what you're made of." Unbeknownst to Drayce, he made that statement in front of everyone in the cafeteria as they were all listening when he stood up.

Pyrrha was very surprised by this but wore a confident and genuinely happy smile on her face, "I would love to have the honor of fighting you Drayce."

Ruby for some reason or another was so happy and giddy about the fight, "Yay!"

Jaune also looked at Pyrrha and noticed that she was genuinely happy about this and smiled at this. In the midst of this the bell rang signaling the next set of classes: however the rumor of the fight between the Prince and Nikos was the talk of the school for the remainder of the school. Ozpin, being the headmaster, caught wind of this and was also very curious of the outcome of this fight. Ozpin decided this would be a great way to boost the morale of many students as well as show the other Headmasters. "I wonder what your son has in store when he's pushed to his limits."

Ozpin decided to make the necessary arrangements along with letting the headmaster of other schools know as well as Glynda Goodwitch.

Day of the fight

Drayce was up early in the forge of Beacon sharpening both of the blades he would use today. "I thought you would be in the gym practicing," someone said from behind him. Drayce turned around to find Ruby there.

"Hey Rubes, why are you up so early?"

"Got up early because I was too excited about the fight today honestly. The rest of the girls are up too, so I decided to come find you to see what you were up to."

Drayce, now done with Heir, pulled Solar up to his lap and began sharpening it with the whetstone. "Ah I see," Drayce said.

A comfortable silence enveloped the forge. "You better not lose Drayce." The white haired young man's eyes widened and looked towards the red reaper, "Because I am the one to give you your first loss in this school you hear me."

Drayce was surprised because Ruby wasn't one to go pick fights, but here she was telling him that she would beat him. This put a full smile on his face, something that was rare, and a warmth to his heart, "We'll see about that."

"Alright class," Glynda addressed her morning class, "Now I know you've all heard the rumors as have I so let's not waste any time. Mr. Regulus and Ms. Nikos please enter the stage."

Pyrrha and Drayce both got up and went to the locker room to get their stuff for this match. As they left a large number of students came into the stands, confusing teams RWBY, JNPR, and CRDL. "What's going on?" Weiss question.

"Well all the teachers decided to let all the students in Beacon watch this fight." Team CFVY arrived and sat next to the three teams, "Not only that but they wanted to see this as well. Think of this as a school wide spectacle of two prodigies going at it," Coco explained.

The three teams looked around to see all the teachers as well as Headmaster Ozpin silently present from the back.

"Wow," Jaune said, not even able to express how surprised he was at that.

"This is insane," Blake said.

"Shh, here they come," Rainier said.

Drayce and Pyrrha both walked out together to be introduced with many students in the crowd. "Well this is a full house."

"Yeah," Pyrrha said feeling slightly nervous, "All of our peers are going to be watching us."

"Don't get cold feet now Nikos," Drayce said with a smirk, "Let's give them a show that they can remember."

Pyrrha nodded, "Of course."

As they made their way to the middle of the stadium they stood, across from each other, and off came the smiles as they trained their sights on each other.

"Alright then are you both ready." Nothing came from them as they were too focused to hear anyone and were just waiting on one word. Glynda smiled briefly with pride and returned to her stoic expression. "Let the match...Begin!"

With that they immediately rushed at each other with break neck speed. Midway, Drayce materialized both Heir and Solar and clashed it with Pyrrha's Akouo, creating sparks. Drayce immediately disengaged and then reengaged and slashed at her head to which she blocked with her shield and counter attacked for his own head only for him to deflect it with Heir and counterattack himself feigning to go for her chest but redirected to her legs. Pyrrha; however was quick and lifted her leg up making him miss his attack. She then went to bash him with her shield only for him to jump on it and jump back gaining distance from Pyrrha. Pyrrha then took this time to transform her weapon, Milo, to a rifle and took shots at Drayce. His highness saw this coming and sheathed Solar on his hip for later use and began deflecting shots from Pyrrha. After seconds Drayce started moving towards Pyrrha as he deflected one shot, flipped over another, sidestep one and sliced another. He then began to cut and flip around all in one as he made his way closer to Pyrrha. Nikos, finding this endeavor useless, took her shield and threw it at him. Drayce saw it coming and slid under it and jumped into the air and clashed and swung down at Pyrrha with the champion meeting him with her own sword. With Drayce stuck in the air she used her semblance to make her shield head towards his back. Drayce saw this and decided to do something crazy, as he pushed more to Pyrrha and at the last second pushed off of her with his sword and flipped over her narrowly missing the shield. Before the shield got away; however, he kicked it back to her. Pyrrha was unprepared for this maneuver but acted quickly and used her semblance just slightly so that she could catch it back to her forearm. Although this also made her wide open which Drayce had full intention to exploit, dropping his sword Heir to be quicker and once he was on her he unsheathe Solar and attacked Pyrrha. Pyrrha by instinct alone moved her shield in the way but was not ready for the force of the attack as it knocked her back and on her ass. Still standing, Drayce called back Heir to his hand as the crowd roared.

"Looks like Drayce takes the first hit," Yatsuhashi said.

"That was an interesting move he pulled," Weiss said.

"But Pyrrha's not out yet," Nora pointed out.

Back at the Arena, Pyrrha gets up off the floor and addresses the prince, "I didn't expect for you to kick my shield back at me. That was much different than what I'm used to."

"Well I have no true Semblance that can be applicable in a fight so what I lack in semblance power I make up for in technique and diversity."

Pyrrha nodded, "I see but I won't go down so easily."

Drayce readied himself for what Pyrrha had to offer. Pyrrha readied herself then threw her shield as hard as she could, as it went flying towards Drayce. The prince, having limited time to react, sidestepped it but as soon as he moved a gunshot rang and on instinct raised his sword and deflected the gunshot. "Clink!" Drayce heard but it wasn't a gunshot. He turned to the noise to see the shield already back and had its sights on him. Drayce thought quickly and jumped over it only for his instincts screaming at him to move. He looked behind him with Pyrrha already on him with her weapon in its spear configuration. 'Shit!' He thought and took Heir and raised it behind him to block Pyrrha's poke but was sent flying from having no balance in the air. He landed on the floor with a thud but before he could have a chance to gather himself her shield was again coming for him. He quickly rolled to the side dodging it and then off the floor to see the shield returning to Pyrrha.

"And there goes the problem with fighting Pyrrha," Coco said, "That damn semblance of hers is something that is fierce and should not be messed with."

Ren nodded, "She has such control over it that she didn't even lose much from that assault. With both things, her shield and Pyrrha herself, being fast it is going to be hard for Drayce to overcome this."

Ruby looked on, and for some reason was so eager to jump in and fight with him. Not to save him or anything like that, but just to fight with him. 'Why do I-'

Ruby was thrusted out of her thoughts as Yang called out, "Here she goes again."

Pyrrha, like last time, threw her shield as hard as she could again and immediately went to attack Drayce with her lance. Drayce calmed himself and dodged it immediately went to meet Pyrrha head on and clashed with her. The shield hitting the wall rang out as everyone saw it heading towards Drayce. Drayce, knowing this, lifted up and slashed at her only for her to dodge. With Pyrrha out of the picture, Drayce turned towards the shield and was going to deflect it, until it was enveloped in a black aura and snaked its way past Drayce as it went under him and into Pyrrha's hands. With her shield in hand she was about to shield bash him to which Drayce put up his two swords to block only for it to be proven ineffective and knocked him away once again.

"Looks like not even the prince himself can get past the invincible girl."

"Dang I thought this was going to be a good watch not a stomp."

"This is a little disappointing."

Ruby and her friends all heard the multiple whispers, and for most they ignored them as they knew they didn't know how good Drayce truly was. With that being said for Ruby it was something that irritated her greatly; however she didn't show it. 'You all don't know a thing about Drayce. He'll win. I know it.'

Drayce slowly got up and stood again against his opponent as Pyrrha stood slightly disappointed as she thought the prince was going to be the one person to challenge her greater than anyone. 'I guess I was too hopeful.'

Drayce just stood there with his head held low. Pyrrha decided to end this and threw her shield one last time as she charged Drayce with her spear. Drayce however didn't move an inch as he stood with the shield approaching.

In the stands, Weiss noticed this and said, "It looks like this match is over."

Ruby was going to instantly retort but was beaten by Rainier, as he chuckled at the comment, "I wouldn't say that." Everyone looked at the rest of team RRZA and they each weren't worried at all. "As we said he is not a prince just for show."

As the shield was literal inches from him Drayce dodged it by side stepping it only for Pyrrha to be on him the instant he dodged it ready to strike. However Drayce didn't pull out his blade to block, he just simply dodged again by hopping back. When he jumped back Pyrrha looked up at him to find that he had his eyes closed. Drayce decided he couldn't just use his eyes but he needed to use his other senses. The shield bounced off the wall and towards Drayce, only for him to dodge it again by ducking under it at the last second. Pyrrha then swiped against the ground where he was and again at the last second he dodged by leaping into the air and over Pyrrha. His work wasn't done however as the shield came back for another round. Pyrrha was in front of him and the shield was behind him. Again with incredible speed and excellent reflexes he spun on his heels and rotated around the spinning shield. Pyrrha caught the shield and went for a stab; however Drayce moved slightly to the side, allowing it to pass him. Although this time it was his turn to go on the offensive as he quickly grabbed the lance before she could retract it and pulled, making Pyrrha stumble forward. With Pyrrha coming forward he again turned on his heels and with his eyes opened once again, unleashed a devastating elbow in her stomach sending her flying back.

Many people in the stands gasped at such a switch in momentum of the battle. Pyrrha got up from the attack and questioned him, "How did you do that? Without even seeing no less."

The fact that Drayce did all of that without even being able to see, shocked almost everyone in the stands. "I was relying on my eyes too much and not using all of my senses. I needed to hear the shield coming my way while also feeling you step and cut through the wind with that lance of yours. Having my eyesight was making those things more difficult and was a hindrance, so I cut them off," Drayce simply answered. "But enough chit chat," he then began to draw his weapon, Heir, "It's my turn."

And in almost an instant Drayce was gone and upon Pyrrha who quickly put up her shield to block the attack. Drayce attacked the shield but was gone in an instant just as fast as before. Pyrrha quickly turned around and parried his strike with him, once again, disappearing in a flurry of speed. This time Pyrrha was too slow to move and was cut on the thigh as Drayce disappeared again. The mistral champion knew she wasn't faster than Drayce with him being almost as fast as Ruby so she decided to use her semblance on his weapon to make up for the difference. When he appeared he saw her semblance to have his blade slightly resist his swing allowing her to parry him. Drayce saw that this endeavor was going to tire him out before she did, so he decided to try to beat her in swordplay.

Pyrrha lifted her blade to heave his blade up and quickly struck out with her shield. Drayce used the momentum of her forcing his sword hand up to flip and kick the shield off her arm. She recovered quickly and went to attack Drayce as they both clashed dancing around each other as they continued to hit sword against sword.

"Wow look at them go," Jaune said.

"Yeah this is awesome," Yang said.

"This seems like an even match," Ren commented.

Ruby again for the second time today wanted to jump in and fight too but disregarded that feeling and just enjoyed the fight, "Go Drayce!" She cheered.

"You can do it Pyrrha!" Nora yelled.

Drayce and Pyrrha began to attack harder and stronger trying to one up or overpower the other as they both began exchanging blows going back and forth. A well placed kick here, a slash there, a punch there. However; the advantage was still with Pyrrha as she still had her powerful semblance to give her an edge and this showed as she used it to pull Drayce's blade making him over extend, getting him a slash in the gut. Drayce tried to power through the attack only for him to miss his next strike and get kicked away. The aura score was 35% to 30% with Pyrrha winning.

"I think this is Pyrrha's win guys," Blake said, startling everyone, especially team RWBY. "Don't get me wrong I feel like Drayce is a superior fighter than Pyrrha but her semblance is still something to be feared. She can control his weapon however she feels."

"And you are correct Blake," Rainier said pushing up his glasses, "The fact of the matter is that Drayce truly doesn't have anything that can truly counter that at least that I know of. His only chance would be to rely on an aura based attack; however he doesn't have enough aura to truly finish Pyrrha with one without losing himself."

"It's a gamble," Zyaire said.

"But it's his only option and by now he knows that," Argus said.

"He will win," everyone looked to Ruby who was so fixated on the fight that she was gripping her hands to which they started to slightly bleed. "He promised that he would and Drayce doesn't break promises. He has something up his sleeves. I know it."

Everyone nodded to this and began to quiet down to witness the end of this spectacular fight of two titans.

Drayce let go of Dragon's Heir and let it go back to his vault with a golden glow, as he sighed, "Well Pyrrha, you are certainly tough. I've had more trouble with you than I honestly care to admit."

Pyrrha nodded, "You as well. You are without a doubt the strongest opponent I have ever had the chance to fight, and for that I thank you."

Drayce looked confused, "Thank you? For what?"

Pyrrha smiled, "For letting me test my full capabilities. For pushing me so hard in this fight. And to, for the first time in a long time, allow me to truly enjoy fighting."

Drayce smirked, "Heh no problem," Drayce then got into a stance as his right foot went forward, his body in a crouch position, and his hand an inch from his blade.

Blake knew of this style very well, "No way," she whispered to herself which Yang caught but decided to not address.

"I think it's time we end this," Drayce said as his aura flared and was actually visible to everyone as it was a mix of red and blue and was huge. Unbeknownst to Drayce, his eyes like the time with Ruby, changed color as now his left eye was now blue. "Pyrrha," he called out, "This blade is my trump card against you, I made it with my very soul to which no one knew, So my question is," Drayce's aura began to rise and Pyrrha was honestly very worried at the implications but didn't think it was what he meant. "Do you think," Drayce then placed his hand on his blade, "You can stop my soul?!"

Drayce in an instant was on Pyrrha poised to strike, Pyrrha quickly by instinct used her semblance as a sort of shield to move any metal when it came into contact. Then it happened as Drayce unleashed the full fury of Solar Eclipse and struck the force field.

In a spectacular show, red flames of the sword collided with the black force field as sparks began to fly all around the stadium. Multiple students had to cover and hold onto their seats to avoid being blown away, but even so everyone watched and marveled at the display.

Ozpin and the other teachers smiled as they felt incredibly proud of their students as they continued to watch. Teams RWBY, JNR, CRDL, and RZA were watching, able to take their eyes off of them.

"I will defeat you!" Drayce yelled.

"I won't let you!" Pyrrha yelled back.

Their friends looked amazed as they felt their passion resonate with them as they began to cheer both of them on. RZA were cheering for Drayce, while JNR for Pyrrha and WBY for both. Ruby unbeknownst to the others had the red tips of her hair glow very slightly, she wanted to fight. She wanted to be there with them. She craved it. Her body however would not allow her to interfere so her heart then decided to just express its need to be there with Drayce by yelling, "You can do it Drayce!"

"AHHHHHHHH!" They both yelled as they struggled more and more against each other.

Then there it was. A small unnoticeable crack from the inside of the blade formed as an explosion rocked the arena. Everyone waited in silence for the dust to clear and when it did there was Pyrrha standing strong with her aura at 16%, just enough for her not to be eliminated. Now with a small cloud in the center of the stadium everyone waited to see if Drayce was also standing or if he was defeated. When the dust settled, they were shown nothing but a sword, Solar Eclipse, and Drayce's jacket.

Everyone was confused and then looked at the aura meter to see Drayce at 16% as well. Pyrrha's eyes widened and looked behind her to find Drayce behind her with Dragon's Heir poised to strike. She quickly tried to put up her shield quickly but it was too late so she went for a strike as well. All that anyone could see was Drayce passing Pyrrha and after sometime they had a winner. The invincible girl had finally fallen.

"THE WINNER IS DRAYCE REGULUS!"

Alright now that this chapter is done and this fight is done I'm going to give a last of how strong everyone is in the group in order.

Now with this list there are multiple people tied which are Zyaire, Blake, and Weiss. Now the reason why Ruby isn't with them is because Ruby had a sort of buff when it came to her resolve by the end of Drayce's fight with her and leads by example. Also her leadership is much better here than canon as shown in the last chapter. Not only that there is an unknown factor which will be explored and answered in the next arc.

Also the only reason why Rainier is under Yang is that she hits like a truck. As smart as Rainier is she will hit him and when she does it's going to hurt.

So the next arc is named The Opposite Arc. You'll understand why I called it that later and then the last arc in Beacon. Until then you all have a damned good one.
