Chapter 12 Kings and Pawns
Xionas and Aristo came to a halt at a nearby cave "You think the Professor left Relics in here?" Said Xionas "well he did say at the Northern edge of the forest, this is technically the Northern edge"
"Wait! Something doesn't feel right" Xionas said as he pointed to some footprints leading into the cave "Someone was here recently, yet I feel some Aura Inside still, if the relic was in here then wouldn't they have already found it?"
"Not really this is a-" then they heard a scream coming from the cave
"Poor girl, sounds like she's in trouble" Said Xionas walking away, slowly, from the cave with Aristo.
Moments later Xionas was running from a Beowulf Alpha screaming at Aristo. "Why did you think that the branch in It's mouth was a Relic? It's a freaking stick!!"
"Well isn't this further from the cave?i figured this is northern enough"
"Screw this, let's take this down like Dad would have wanted" Xionas glanced at Aristo as they nodded in unison as Xionas drew his katana and crossed paths with Aristo as she drew her halberd, the two weapons clashed sent sparks into the air "Earth Breaker!" Aristo shouted as the edge of her halberd glowed red and she slammed it into the ground as the familiar 5 pillars of stone sprouted from the ground but this time something was different, instead of electricity sparking from the rock like last time Xionas used it, this time it was fire. Xionas raised his hand into the air as a ball of water formed in his hand and started to grow bigger, the same with Aristo except it was fire and they launched them from opposite sides of the Beowulf as Xionas shouted "Aoi!" and Aristo shouted "Kurenai!". The elements collided making a veil of steam and Xionas dashed into the fog and an Azure star formed in the fog as Xionas appeared from the fog "Omae wa mou shindeiru" said Xionas as the Beowulf lunged at him and turned to ash. Xionas and Aristo sheathed their weapons in unison and said "Azure Star Technique: Sirius"
Moments later the siblings came to a clearing with chess pieces on pedestals. "Ok these have got to be them" sighed Xionas picking up a Black Rook, Xionas flashed back to a day when he and his father were playing chess in Menagerie "Life is like chess son," his father said "their are Pawns and Kings, the choice is ultimately whether or not your want to be promoted, some think the Queen is the most powerful, but it's in reality the Pawn" those words echoed in Xionas' head as he snapped to reality " you've been spacing a lot lately, are you going to be okay?" Aristo said. "Let's just get back to beacon" said Xionas as they disappeared into the woods "the Pawn falls into position, but our King is ready" said a male voice in a black cloak with blue lining and a giant's face on a mask, "this time we won't fail, Got it memorized?" Said a man in a monkey mask and similar cloak but yellow lining.
