The fear in her eyes is all he can see.

He can't let this happen to his little brother, like it did him.

As he jumps down, she seems to look more like Gwen falling to her death in the clock tower. He grabs her and all he can think is that Gwen would be proud of him.

The sight begins to fade and suddenly all he sees is Gwen's limp body after her neck snapped on impact. "Gwen, No, Gwen," he cries. The fear and grief sink in again as he knows he's all alone.

The laughter of Goblin stops him as rage fuels his next actions. And then as quickly as it started, the scene is over.

Peter wakes up in a sweat, his heart beating incredibly fast as it can. He sees blonde hair next to him and it seems to slow a bit. She jumps up ready to sprint out and get May.

Then she sees Peter and worry covers her face, "Bad dream?" she worriedly asks him. All he can do is nod while making sure she is real. "Hey, I'm here. Everything is okay. Wanna talk about it?"

He thinks about letting it off his chest and the weight that would be released. He takes a long, deep breath thinking it over. He sees genuine worry and concern on her face. "Well, I haven't really told anyone what happened, so what the hell," He thinks. Of course, he can't think about the event that he does not like to name, without seeing or hearing her fall.

Settling his breathing he prepares to talk about the most traumatic period in his life. "After you died, in the old timeline, I fell apart. I had so much rage and grief I didn't know what to do. Harry went to prison with bruises that'll never fade. And I was so alone and confused, so Spider-Man disappeared for a while. I didn't come back until the Rhino appeared. I was so angry and sad at the same time and bear to try to help people. People even considered me a murderer after what I did to so many criminals. Nothing is ever enough, especially for Jameson. I did try, I really tried. It was just so hard. I even told younger me I didn't want him to end like me, angry, bitter, and filled with so much pain," Peter tells her as he recalls the past 9 years.

"Peter, you had lost so much by that point, no wonder you broke down. Just like everyone else, you can struggle after loss, no matter what the world wants from you. And for the people calling you a murderer, I can't change what you did then, but guess what, it never happened in this timeline. Only you remember and you can overcome the guilt eventually. I'm here for you through it all," Gwen comforts him while he leans his head on her shoulder. He begins to play with her hair as she glances at him. "Why don't we head back to sleep, or are you awake for the rest of the night?" She asks him while getting up.

"I mean I'm still tired, but I can't see that twice in one night," Peter responds while the young child from the other room comes in, visibly tired, still rubbing her eyes adjusting to the light.

"Hey, what are you doing awake? You have to sleep if your dad is going to train you," Gwen says to May to coax her back to her room.

"But you and daddy are awake, so why can't I be?" May questions back to her mom. Gwen looks at Peter for him to take over as he mouths "She's stubborn like you." Gwen's response to that is rolling her eyes and leads May back to bed.

Still laughing, Peter decides to be productive and begins to research how much has really changed after the past day's event, and falls into an endless hole by the time Gwen comes back in. "Really? You just said you were tired. Why can't we just relax and not Google "Doctor Otto Octavius"? Who is that anyway?" Gwen asks, basically talking to a wall as she gets no response from him. In her displeasure, she closes the laptop and glares at him.

"What? Sorry did you ask me something, Gwen?" Peter tries to not anger his incredible girlfriend, no, wife, his incredible wife. She looks at him, unable to get angry at his big brown eyes that scream innocence.

"Come back to bed, please. I don't care if you sleep, just that you are there with me. And the fact that if May hears us talking again, you'll have to deal with her," Gwen threatens Peter with the fact of dealing with their stubborn, curious daughter.

Peter, not wanting to deal with that, hops into bed with Gwen. He decides just to focus on her, his world, his everything, his lost love. A thought comes to his mind, and he decides to say it. "Hey, in this timeline do you know anything about my dad?" he casually asks.

"All I know is that he died in that plane crash with your mom. Why do you ask?" Gwen responds as she looks at Peter to see his reaction.

"Because one time when I was at your grave, he came behind and told me he had to hide to keep me safe. At the time I was upset about everything, so I yelled at him. After I calmed down, we talked, and he told me that I had to keep you in my heart to continue. I didn't see him much after that, and I don't even know where he is in this timeline," Peter lets her in on one more thing he's been keeping in.

"We could look for him if that's what you want, or do whatever you think is best," Gwen states as she rubs circles on his back, "But please don't get back on the laptop. We can do that in the morning, not now, okay?"

He chuckles their conversation distracting him from the 27 different he already has in his mind. One of his thoughts comes to him and suddenly all he thinks about is his little brother and how everything is, especially due to the fact of everyone has forgotten him.

Seeing the worry and concern wash over his face, Gwen asks, "What's wrong? And don't say nothing."

"I'm just thinking about the younger Peter and how things are going for him. I mean everyone does not remember him, not his girlfriend, not his best friend, not the magic doctor. The kid is just 17, he shouldn't have to sacrifice this much so young." Peter rants about his younger brother.
