The bright light burns his eyes as he faintly sees a figure in the doorway. Immediately he goes to close the curtains and spare his corneas any more damage and plops back on the bed. "Hey, you're finally awake." Immediately recognizing the voice as Gwen, the events of the last day come spiraling back to his brain.

"What time is it? I hope I didn't sleep all day." he asks, curious.

"You didn't and it's only about 10." she says while coming near him. The second she's close enough to him, he pulls her down to the bed. "Hey, don't forget about the promise you made to our little spider, Peter."

The only thing he heard was "our" and happy fuzzy feelings filled him. "Oh, I didn't, I'm just trying to lay in bed with my perfect wife."

There's those fuzzy feelings again.

"Oh, really?" Gwen questions, teasing. She plays with his hair laying her head on his shoulders. He really missed these moments with her over these past 9 years. "I think you're just trying to avoid the little toddler strength she has. She may even be stronger than you, Peter."

"I don't doubt that with you as her mother. And the stronger she is, the more cleaning and replacing we'll have to do." he tells her as he turns to look at her, Gwen falling a bit after losing her balance.

"Yes, but I don't have to train her. And we should be quiet unless we want to deal with her now." Gwen says in a hushed voice.

"Too late" is what he was about to say until his Spidey Senses alerting him of the young child coming his way.

The little squeals are heard as May sees her parents. "Daddy, you are training me?" she says with almost identical brown eyes to his own.

Damn, I can't possibly say no.

"Yeah, of course my little Mayday." Peter grabs May and tickles her. The giggles are the only validation he needs to know he's doing good.

Gwen, after hearing the name he used, looks at Peter with widened eyes. All he can do is mouth "I remembered it." Gwen didn't realize how happy that made her, until she felt small, happy tears running down her face.

"Don't cry mommy, it's okay." "Mayday" tells her mother.

"Yeah, it's okay." Gwen responds and gives Peter a little smile to let him know she's fine.

In the kitchen, later, they all sat eating breakfast. Peter, having his plate covered in so much food, Gwen eating some toast and egg, and finally May, eating a bowl of cereal, with chocolate milk as her father gave in quickly, having no problems with the situation. Gwen, however, did.

"Why do you have some much food, Daddy?" The four-year-old asks, in-between bites of "Frosted Flakes".

Slightly shocked by the question, Peter answers simply with, "I'm just really hungry."

"Oh."

Watching the conversation, Gwen quietly laughs. Afterwards she gets a look from Peter that could only be described as amusement and embarrassment simultaneously.

After they have finished eating, Gwen comes up behind Peter as he puts their dirty dishes in the sink.

"You know even after what 12 years of us not only knowing each other and being together, your metabolism still seems impossible. I mean I know basically, everything you can do is impossible, but I don't know how to exactly explain."

"Yeah, I guess from an outside perspective it's pretty weird. When I first was bitten, I came home and took all the food from the fridge and confused May and Ben. I couldn't explain what was happening because I didn't know either. In retrospect, I shouldn't have gone into a restricted area in a lab."

"What was even go through your mind at the point? I mean it did have some really good side effects and it only could have worked on you."

"Yeah, if it weren't for Spiderman, we probably wouldn't be together and what kind of world would that be?" Peter casually leans in closer to her as Gwen rolls her eyes.

"Peter do you even realize how corny that sounds?" Gwen asks as she dodges him and heads toward the living room.

"Gwen!" Peter whines as he follows her like a lost puppy.

Peter finds Gwen and May on the couch both laughing at him. Gwen smirks at the sight in front of her.

Peter deciding "if you can't beat them, join them" and plops down next to them. And as he lays his head down, he looks at his family and thinks about how lucky he truly is. For so long he's been expecting to be alone for the rest of his life and here they are. His family. And while he looks up at them, he begins to have some memories come to him.

"Peter, I have I something to show you."

"What is it?"

She pulls out a stick from her nightstand and hands it to him. He doesn't quite get it at first.

"Peter?"

"Gwen, are we having a baby?" Tears fill his eyes as he speaks.

All she does is nod her head as she gets tackled by Peter's hug.

All Peter can do is smile as he knows more about this life. Gwen, noticing his smile decides to ask, "What's with this? Did you do something?" He shakes his head and continues to smile up at her.

"No, just remembered something." He grins at her.

"Oh, and?" She smirks backs.

"I'll tell you later tonight."

"Okay"

He glances back at Gwen and then looks down to May, giggling at whatever she's playing with. "Hey, why don't we go and show you how to control your strength?" Peter says as he jumps off the couch.

"Really?" May's face lights up.

"Yeah, if you want to"

"Yes, yes, yes, yes!" She continues to squeal as she runs off.

"You have fun with that, I'll be here" Gwen says clearly amused.

"Or...you could come, and watch?"

"I could"

"Please?"

"Fine, I'm going to enjoy watching you deal with her, especially while she uses her powers." She smiles and walks past Peter. "By the way, last time you did this, you ended up with some broken bones" She smirks at him.

"Really? Gwen, did that actually happen?" Peter chases after Gwen.

Peter crouches down in front of May and instructs her on how to punch. "So, just hit me. Hit me right here." Peter motions to the pads on his hands.

"Right there?" May points.

"Yeah, just take your tim-" He is cut off by a punch to his nose. "Okay that's blood, let's take a break so I can clean up."

"Are you okay, Daddy?" She looks at him.

"Yeah, yeah, just going to get your mom to watch for a minute or two"

"Okay"

"Better not let her hit near my face this time" He adds a mental note. "
