T3ddyBearL0ve-I love stealth Jim and honestly wished we got more of it in the show! And yes I do indeed miss Anton Yelchin voicing Jim he will always be Jim for me. Hehe thank you I try to add some comedy in all the angst! Ahhh thank you for your concerns with the rott rewrite! It's gonna be a lot of work. And you are right Jim is not in sunlight, like, at ALL, so at least that won't be an inconvenience to work around. (Yet they still sent Nomura into the light whyyyyy.) Don't worry, you'll see your action soon enough! It's been a while since we got some good fighting in here.

M3rr13-Your patience has paid off! I hope you enjoy this chapter and like my rott rewrite just as much :)

XxShadowluvxX-Thank you so much! I'm glad you were patient with me!

Nightspyder-We do indeed, and I will give it to you!

merendinoemiliano-Thank you so much!

Sirri-Why thank you! It is now canon that Vardan likes cake, specifically some kind of lemon cake.

WyldClaw-He did indeed! Now it's time to kick some changeling ass!

"J-Jim? Is that really you?"

Jim froze in his tracks. That voice. That beautiful, sweet voice. Deep inside, he had feared he would never hear that voice again. But he had heard it; it was no figment of his imagination or some horrible nightmare. It meant she was here, alive.

He needed to see her.

"Claire," he whispered, his mouth dry. He sprinted over to the voice, heart pounding in his chest. This was it, after weeks and weeks he was finally going to be with her-

And there she was.

Hair disheveled and bags under her eyes, but in that moment Jim thought she had never looked so beautiful.

Her eyes lit up with pure joy. "Jim!"

"Claire!" They ran to the glass that separated them and gazed longingly at one another. Jim pressed his hand to the glass, wishing more than anything that it wasn't there-

Suddenly the glass disappeared, and Claire was falling into his arms. Even with his troll durability, she hugged him so tight he winced. He burrowed his head in her shoulder, eyes watering. Despite the situation they were in, he could feel his fear melting away. As long as he had her by his side, he knew he would be okay.

But if she was by your side, would she be safe? a nasty voice whispered in the back of his mind.

Before he could go down that train of thought, Claire spoke. "I was so, so worried…" she said, her voice trembling. "Especially after that-that incident, I wasn't sure I would ever see you again…"

Jim's heart cracked. "Oh, Claire…" He tilted her chin up so she looked him in the eyes. "You know I'd always find a way to save you. To be with you."

She gave him a watery grin. "I know."

"Master Jim!" Two pairs of arms wrapped around Jim and lifted him into the air. "You came for us!"

Jim laughed and returned Blinky's hug. "Of course I did, Blink. A Trollhunter answers every call, right?"

Blinky chuckled. "I taught you well!"

"Sorry to interrupt," the changeling said nervously, "but can you please keep it down? We're trying to escape without the Janus Order noticing."

"So you finally came around," Nomura remarked, hopping out of the white-walled cell. She gazed at the changeling with pride. "I'm proud of you, Vardan."

Jim blinked. "Wait. This changeling…he's on our side?"

Vardan huffed. "See? I was telling the truth!"

"Yeah…my bad, man. Thank you."

Vardan's face softened. "Don't worry about it. I'm just…I'm just happy I finally realized I'm worth more than what the Order says I am."

He abruptly shook his head. "But enough about me! We gotta break your other friends out." He displayed the key card and flashed a mischievous grin. "And I have the key."

And so they raced about the Order headquarters, releasing the other trolls. As it turns out, Claire, Blinky, and Nomura had been separated from the rest of the trolls, so they had to dash from room to room, avoiding changelings left and right. Luckily, Vardan knew where most of them were, since he delivered food to most of the prisoners here. Even better, he knew hallways that changelings rarely visited. They had also found Nomura's scythes in a spare room, and Jim swore he saw tears in her eyes when she picked them up.

Jim was happy. After all, he was back with his friends and freeing all the other trolls in his care. He was doing what a Trollhunter should do.

But deep inside, he was still wracked with guilt. He had hurt the ones closest to him. Claire held his hand as they dashed through the halls, positively beaming now that they were back together, but Jim still remembered how terrified she had been of him. And who could blame her?

Helgar's words rang through his head: You area berserker troll. Even if, by some miracle, you managed to save them, it would only be a matter of time before you hurt them again, without gravesand.

Jim squeezed Claire's hand. He had to enjoy every minute he had with her, because as soon as the trolls were safe…he was going to leave.

"Hey," Claire said, staring up at him. Her brow was pinched with concern. "You okay?"

Nope. Jim forced a grin. "Uh, yeah! Just, um, you know-"

"I think that's the last of them," Vardan said, shutting the closet door behind him.

Bagdwella, naturally, had complained that climbing down a ladder was too much work and insisted on someone carrying her down. Nomura had promptly slapped her and snarled at her to suck it up. Other than that, the rescue operation had gone relatively peacefully. Jim had only needed to kill a handful of changelings that had spotted them.

Jim mulled the list of trolls in his head. Vardan was right; they had pretty much gotten everyone-

He sighed. "No, we don't. We still need to save Merlin."

Everyone groaned.

"Must we really fetch that old coot?" Nomura growled.

"Yes," Jim said, exasperated. "Look, I don't want to save him either, but we can't just leave him here."

"I mean, we technically could," Claire muttered.

"Claire!"

"Fine, fine," she said grumpily. "Have it your way."

Vardan nodded. "Okay, I've never been there myself, but I do know where it is. Follow me!"

They turned around and left the safety of the closet once more. Jim noticed they were travelling deeper into the Order's headquarters than they had for the other trolls. Unfortunately, that also meant more changelings. It was getting harder to avoid them, and Jim found himself disposing more and more of them.

Jim panted as he wrenched Daylight from a changeling's heart. The changeling exploded into a cloud of dust, and he coughed as it went into his lungs. Oh God it was the gravesand all over again-but it wasn't gravesand, just the remains of a changeling. Gross, but it wasn't going to change him in any way.

He forced himself to take a deep breath before turning to Vardan. "Are we almost there? Someone's got to have noticed all the piles of dust we've left behind by now."

"Actually…" the young changeling poked his head around the corner of a hallway and grinned. "Yes, we are."

"Really?" Jim checked around the corner himself. It definitely looked like it. Two guards, the first Jim had seen, stood outside a shiny metal door. Long swords hung at their sides.

"It's weird, though," Vardan mused. "Usually there's a lot more changelings in this level…"

"Lucky for us, then," Jim said and glanced back at the others. "Okay, you guys stay here while I-"

He blinked as a flash of purple flew by him. There was a muffled yelp, then silence. Jim and the others disbelievingly left their hiding place.

The guards were gone. Their remnants were on Nomura, who was coated with dust. She sheathed her scythes and smirked. "What?"

"Really?" Jim hissed.

"Come on," she said, swiping the guard's card across the panel. "I can't let you have all the fun, now can I?"

The metal door opened, and they all gasped. Merlin looked horrible. His face was bloody and bruised. His armor was scorched-probably from moving too much and being electrocuted from his restraints. For the first time, Jim felt pity for the old man.

He didn't even raise his head to look at them. "What…" he rasped, "do you want with me now?"

"It's us," Jim said. "Jim, Claire, we're all here. We're going to get you out of here."

"Oh, I don't think so."

The dark room flooded with light. Jim, Blinky, and Nomura hissed and covered their eyes. Once his eyesight adjusted, Jim lowered his hand. His heart jumped in his throat.

Dozens of changelings stood behind Merlin. The light gleamed off the deadly sharp weapons in their clawed hands. Their glowing eyes stared at them hungrily, but they didn't attack.

"It's not too late, Trollhunter," the voice called. Jim whirled around to face it. Up on the balcony, it was the same woman from Merlin's message! Eunice Helgar. The woman who made him hurt everyone he loved. He glared at her, but this only seemed to delight her.

"If you surrender now, I'll let your friends go. That is, everyone except the wizard and that traitor," she hissed, narrowing her eyes at Nomura. Just as fast, her sickly sweet demeanor returned. "But that's a fair deal, is it not? So, Trollhunter, what will it be?"

Jim snarled and summoned Daylight. Blue flames flickered angrily across the blade. "How about I kill you all instead?"

"Very well." In a flash of blue, Helgar transformed into her changeling form. She smiled down at them, her fangs flashing in the light.

"Attack."

A/N: You got the reunion in this chapter, but no troll Jim kicking changeling ass! Don't worry, that'll be the next update :). It's been a while since we've had a fight scene in this fic, am I right? And Jim really you should've expected this she literally said there were security cameras smh.

Also I gotta start working on the rott rewrite. I have the first hundred words or so but I just moved into my college dorm so that's been happening. So expect a Secundo Ire update for the movie before the update for this fic! Until then, see you in the next update!
