*knocks away the dust and cobwebs* Hey everyone, I've returned at last.

And given how the world is unfortunately going (which I hope you and your love ones are all doing alright and safe during these scary times), I have more free time to get back into writing. So, do forgive if my style isn't up to par as it used to be. I can't begin to tell how many times I ended up rewriting/revising because of how unsatisfying or not right it seemed to be for me. But, hey, you are your own worse critic, haha.

This chapter is basically the kicking off point to soon revealing what/who Cyan Warren is and vise versa for her with Edward. So, once again, pay close attention reading because I've dropped a bunch of little hints that once the truth is out, will end up coming all together!

As always, thanks for being around. Stay safe and wash your hands, my awesome readers! And I hope y'all enjoy this chapter from the required six feet distance, haha. -xoxo, Lovely

Chapter Seven:

"'Cause I Got Secrets, but You Got 'em Too"

(Chapter Song: Secrets by P!NK)

Silence.

Cyan was all too familiar with silence.

Sometimes it was good to have around, other times it was suffocating.

And at the moment, it was unfortunately the latter of the two.

The young woman currently lagged a few steps behind Cullen's causal stride as he led them to..wherever. Neither spoke as they walked along the awning-covered walkway. He was most likely saving whatever had to be said for when they eventually got there. Probably gotten wise now that she wasn't one for small talk either. Well, at least not with him. And while grateful he was being reserved, she kinda secretly wished he wasn't. Being left alone in her head after the tumultuous day she went through wasn't exactly ideal. However, that didn't mean she would be the one to break first and start up the most likely awkward conversation early.

She instead tried distracting herself with their surroundings. Dark browns leisurely drifted to the right, falling onto the vast forest bordering one side of the school. To the locals, they weren't seen as much to take in. Just the same abundant of wet greenery in all four directions that encompassed the sleepy town.

But not to her.

No, they felt like home..

Murmuring to her in soft rustling tones, coaxing her weary soul towards the tall ancient trees. To run towards and through them..becoming lost yet one with them. Shedding earthly troubles off her like almost a second skin. Maybe, she'd get lucky and stumble across a gathering of Fae to lure her within one of their fairy circles. Where she could dance wildly amongst them, slowly being driven to euphoric madness. Her lips quirked up into a small smile from the tempting but unlikely thought.

Edward's voice unfortunately brought her back to reality with a simple, "We're here." The smile was replaced with a low sigh as she reluctantly peered back at her classmate..only for them to widen.

"..No," Raven-haired head shaking in refusal the second her eyes landed on the spot. "Absolutely not."

A dark brow against alabaster skin raised in question, stopping in front of a padlocked door. "What?" Cyan gave an 'are you kidding me right now' expression towards her clueless companion. His so-called secluded spot turned out to be a small former classroom building in the back of the school grounds. Now, only ever used for storing dilapidated desks and other discarded school-related items.

"Have you never seen a horror film before? This place literally gives off 'perfect place to hid a dead body' vibes!" she exclaimed, wildly waving her hand in the seemingly ominous building's general direction for emphasis. In all honesty, she'd been somewhat serious about her murdering comment; unable for one second to forget about his unnatural abilities. So the idea of being alone inside the abandoned place with him didn't quiet her already frazzled nerves.

Though unwilling to enter, she wasn't backing out from fulfilling his request. Again, Cyan owed him and she utterly hated owing people for long. She could only cross her fingers with hope their inevitable conversation wouldn't turn sour. Because if it did, she wouldn't be able to run or scream in time to alert someone, given his super speed, before snapping her neck.

"Once again foolishly dancing with death." the voice in her head whispered disapprovingly.

Edward had the nerve to roll his amber eyes at her paranoid words. "You've watched far too many scary movies." Shaking the lingering gruesome imagery from her head, she shrugged off her heavy backpack before squatting; leaning her back against one of the metal support beams for balance.

"That's rich coming from the guy who can put a dent in a freakin' car unscathed." the young woman muttered under her breath, knowing damn well he could hear. He shot her an exasperated look which she elected to ignore. She then proposed, "Anyway, let's just talk out here. It's stopped pouring, so we're safe from getting soaked again for the time being."

A heavy sigh came from the peculiar teen as if this simple revision of where they talked was inconveniencing him, but complied nonetheless.

"..Wouldn't you be more comfortable seated directly on the walkway?" he inquired, moving away from the door to stand across from her instead. Resting his shoulder effortlessly against the opposite pole with crossed arms, appearing as if he were posing for some photo shoot. Cy resisted the strong urge to roll her eyes at the sight.

"Probably." Her shoulder lifted with indifference; a smirk forming on burgundy lips. "But though they may not look like it, these pants costed a pretty penny."

That wasn't completely true, they both knew. She hadn't cared about damaging them earlier while sitting in the pouring rain on concrete steps. However..she wasn't exactly in the right state of mind then. No, the real reason was just in case he tried anything, she would be at strike-level with the sensitive place between his legs.

"Super powers or not, he's still a dude where it hurts." she mentally grinned.

Unaware of the actual truth, Cullen hummed with understanding. Thanks to the many forced upon lessons by Alice on fashion over the passing decades, he knew instantly they were indeed expensive—pocket-less pants made of black leather. Surely not an item one could easily find in the average retail store with such high quality.

Back in the cafeteria while subtly observing her lunch table, he couldn't help but take great notice in her outfit of choice that Friday. The sherpa-lined blue denim jacket thrown over top a plain white crew-neck tshirt tucked into those..snug..pants.

His beast's suggestive choice of wording, most definitely not his.

With brown low-heeled ankle boots finishing the ensemble. It hadn't been as overly 'trendy' as the one worn her first day; more fitting towards Fork's climate and blend-able. Now, due to the rain and 'incident', a dark grey 'Spartans' hoodie replaced both the shirt and jacket.

He then remembered the psychic gushing about the new girl's mother a few weeks back after she'd arrived. A very famous designer apparently, whose clothing she owned and absolutely adored. And since her arrival, it was clearly evident the young woman inherited an eye for favorable clothing trends.

The vampire inwardly frowned. Alice was excited about the prospect of long shopping trips together once they became close as well. There was no 'ifs', 'ands', or 'buts' when she spoke fondly of their future friendship; just absolute certainty. He—and his 'beast'—secretly hoped that remained true. It all depended on their current interaction continuing on the right path towards her vision. So far, given their surroundings and positions, it thankfully was.

Silence again fell between them afterwards; neither seemed willing or knew actually how to start. Instead, Cyan played the part of being too busy rummaging through her bag for something, once more waiting for him to speak. But all he did was quietly observe, much to her discomfort. She tried ignoring the itchy feeling of being watched by finally eating the protein bar Mike gave as a distraction. Glad for placing the snack in her backpack's pocket instead of her ruined jacket's because she was starving!

"And who wouldn't be after puking your guts out on not only yourself, but classmate as well?" She humorlessly laughed inside her head at the self-deprecating jab. Gosh..that was definitely gonna be placed into the large mental box named 'embarrassing and awkward past mistakes' her brain reluctantly held. The young woman just couldn't wait to be minding her own business one day and get unexpectedly hit like a freight train with the memory to reliving every tortuous second.

A reserved smile grew on said classmate's face as he looked on, turning full-blown once she took a big bite and happily swayed from side to side. At the movement, something shiny hanging low on her chest suddenly caught his sharp eye—her silver pendant necklace. Due to her borrowed clothing and hasty redressing, Cyan's intriguing jewelry was on full-display instead of tucked away or hidden by multiple clothed layers as usual.

His auburn-haired head tilted a tad, surveying. The locket was dated but well taken care of; a cherished heirloom no doubt. The tree symbol and the runes intricately etched onto the front peaked his curiosity though. Briefly wondering if, much like with his own coven, it was perhaps her family's crest? Was it also considered to be a well-known one? Because it felt strangely familiar to him, having possibly come across such an intriguing image before somewhere in passing during his long years.

"You know.." Warren's deadpan voice snapped his inquisitive gaze away from the trinket and pondering of the tree's origins. Her face as expressionless as her tone when meeting her dark eyes. "I really hope you don't have x-ray vision to go along with that super strength and speed of yours."

Tawny orbs blinked owlishly for a moment before growing almost comically wide with realization.

She thought—!

She thought he had been—!

If human, Edward's whole face would've turned as bright red as a ripe tomato. His 'beast' roared with manic laughter at his embarrassment; remarking to her statement with a lecherous 'I wish'! If he wasn't so mortified, he would've snapped at it to shut the hell up.

Recollecting himself, he mimicked a cough and awkwardly averted his gaze down towards the pavement. Reassuring that he did not and also apologizing to her for his unrefined manners; all the while stumbling over his words as if reciting tricky tongue twisters.

Dark browns narrowed, only humming an unconvinced 'uh-huh' in response. Secretly, she took wicked glee seeing the normally aloof Cullen boy squirm like a child caught in the cookie jar. Cyan held her gaze on him for a few more uncomfortable seconds before looking away, hiding an amused smirk by taking another bite of her snack.

He sighed quietly in relief before explaining his actions further. "I was simply looking at the locket around your neck." A pale hand gestured towards said trinket, unable not to ask about it now. "That symbol..it seems familiar. Does it mean anything?" It was Warren's turn to become wide-eyed and blink fast. To warily avert her eyes but instead of being embarrassed, grew uneasy. "Ah..touchy subject, duly noted."

"N-Not really." she answered; muffled, thanks to the food in her mouth. She struggled to swallow it which felt like soggy cardboard in her suddenly dry mouth. The once delicious chocolate flavor now tasting stale. The vampire quickly noticed, brows furrowed as he reached inside his coat for something.

"Here." She glanced up, only to come face to face instead..with a can of Coke.

A nicely shaped brow lifted, silently inquiring. "I figured having something you enjoy may cheer you up." was simply told. After a moment of staring in disbelief at his kind gesture, the young woman slowly accepted the offered beverage. Edward took extra care that their fingers didn't make direct contact during the exchange. The startling difference between their temperatures would surely cause her to drop it.

"How long were you holding onto that?" was inquired of Edward, noticing the strong lack of condensation. "It's still pretty cold."

He gave a tight smile that certainly didn't read as 'odd' at all. "Not long." Her head tilted to the side, a tad confused before something suddenly clicked. He must've dashed away to grab one for her with his handy enhanced speed just before she stepped out into the hall, she assumed. Because there was no way he'd actually hold onto the earlier one..

"Even so..that can should be sweating a little.." couldn't help but note that pesky little inner voice of hers.

Ignoring the logical observation, the can was raised in a 'cheers' motion. "Well..thanks a bunch, Barry Allen."

Wasting no further time, Cy cracked it open and took a long swig. Chugging it halfway down as if the soda was instead golden nectar given from the gods. A satisfied sigh left her once done, crumpling the empty wrapper in her other hand. She was glad the bit stuck in her mouth had been the last of Mike's protein bar. She would've felt bad throwing out the rest. Edward tried not to stare as she chose to lick her lips clean instead of using the sleeve of the borrowed hoodie. Strongly ignoring the way the pink muscle trace along the seam of crimson lips..

He also resisted the urge to groan dramatically at the superhero reference. She was just as bad, if not worse, than Emmett. He was a known consumer of all things pop and nerd culture-related. Needing to compare a real-life situation to some commonly used tv trope or randomly bring up whatever his hyper-fixation of the week was into pretty much every conversation. Even when it didn't seem to apply at all, the bear of a vampire would find a way. He knew already that when those two properly met, they'd be an annoying but at times comical pair.

The 'beast' purred loudly at the thought, causing Cullen to cringe upon realizing why.

He thought of 'when', instead of 'if'.

His classmate watched curiously as he shifted uncomfortably across from her, believing dubbing him after the Flash bothered him. He soon settled back into his ever cool, standoffish persona and leaned against a beam, arms crossing over his chest before getting to the point of their meeting at long last.

"So, this..has been roaming around in my head for awhile—"

"Uh-huh.." Cyan encouraged in a nonchalant tone, playing with the soda tab while inwardly begging, "Please don't ask me about what happen earlier. Hell, I'd prefer you asking me to Prom before talking about that!"

"But what's the honest reason for heading all the way to Los Angeles?" Browns orbs blinked, left momentarily speechless but utterly relieved. What a complete 180 from the direction she originally thought this conversation was headed.

So much so, she felt compelled to say aloud her honest reaction. "Oh..that..that wasn't what I was expecting."

With or without his gift, Cullen figured as much.

If he was anyone else, they'd questioned Cyan about her breakdown for their supposed care but persistent need to know everything about someone. And while the ever stubbornly curious part of himself along with his beast longed to know the full truth as well, the vampire knew it wasn't his place. No matter that time and effort was taken from his day to assist her which gave the false pretenses that she so-called 'owe him as much'.

It wasn't how he was raised. His real mother took much effort in teaching him to be a proper gentleman since he had lacked a father figure during his human years. And though he didn't enact on every moral and proper etiquette learned, there were still an important few he held true even in the days of the twenty-first century in respect to his deceased parent.

Also..the instant he found her, he knew what he witnessed was a side of her which very rarely saw the light of day. A heavy-laden sadness..kept locked behind 'closed doors' and blinding fake happy smiles. Something far too personal for a still-deemed stranger like him to know nor question. But seeing it allowed him to understand the inscrutable girl an inch better. For one, it explained her wary and guarded nature. That her trust was something very hard to acquire too, thanks to whatever past demons haunted her.

"I won't ask about earlier." he reassured softly, "It's honestly none of my business.." His voice trailed off then. Cyan watched him peer at her; a contemplating look taking over the handsome features of his pale face. As his tawny eyes observed her now, he suddenly wondered—and hoped—if there was at least one person she trusted completely to bare her troubled soul with. Unable to let discussing her problems slip by now with the lingering thought of no one possibly being there closely for her. "Worth a try asking.." And even so, she'd still have the option to refuse.

"But..did you..actually want to talk about it?" Not replying, her dark eyes instead moved to glare down at the pathway as if it was the one to offend her by offering such counsel.

Did she want to talk about what happen? Hell no.

Would it do her some good if she finally did? Even just a little bit? Yeah, maybe but—

"..Not with you." Messy auburn-haired head gave a brisk accepting nod, even though the movement..and the hurt which flitted across golden orbs went unseen.

"I understand." Warren couldn't help but flinch a tad at the soft empathizing tone the boy across her used. Oddly ashamed for shutting him out like always. Was it because of what he did for her of his own free will? That part of her brain where her conscience resided was now guilting her for do so?

"You can't always shut people completely out, darlin'." Advice from so long ago given by the deep timber of her father's once soothing voice suddenly filled her head. "A little give and take goes a long way."

"..Great," She bit her lip, feeling her eyes well up as they tended to automatically do whenever a memory of her dad was involved. "Two times in one day my mind conjures up Dad..At least this one is better than the previous."

A resigned sigh escaped; her free hand coming up to rub the back of her neck as discomfort grew at what she was about to say. "Give and take." she briefly thought before saying aloud, "Look, don't take it personally, okay? I shut out pretty much everyone when it comes to my issues if I can allow it."

"Again, I—"

"No, you don't." she interrupted in a quiet voice, shaking her head. The soul -deepening sorrow that clung to her like tar came forth then. The vampire's hand started to involuntarily twitch. The urge to reach out and brush away the strands that had fallen into her face from doing so grew strong. To provide her some bit of silence comfort so the sadness would leave and hopefully not return for a long while. But he held fast, curling his fist so tight if he was human, his nails digging in would've caused his skin to bleed. "If you knew..I wouldn't be surprise if it ended up being all Greek to you."

"Oh, well..Tha ekplageíte me aftó pou xéro." he causally replied in fluent Greek as if it was his first language. Having understood, Cyan gaped up at him for a moment, both amazed and greatly impressed. He just stood there, grinning smugly and secretly prideful at catching her off-guard. Until it was his turn to be taken aback.

Because she laughed.

A small snicker she tried hiding behind her drink that held such pure child-like mirth. Where she had to turn away from him, eyes closing and crinkling at the corners cutely.

Once composing herself, she smirked. "Well, color me impressed then, Eddie boy. Because your Greek is impeccable." Tawny eyes shined with blatant satisfaction, head canting forward in thanks. It took everything in him to keep the dopey smile that threaten to slip out from appearing on his face. Didn't help either he could practically picture his beast's chest puffed out in pride from her rarely-given praise like some showy bird after finally winning the attention of a potential mate, wanting to also physically display the same feeling.

"We should try seducing her with Greek again!" the monster inside suggested excitedly, "She understood and seemed to like it very much!"

"Hmm, that's right.." His brow furrowed slightly, now realizing she knew what he said. Consumed with curiosity to know how and why she did; a billion more questions joined the massive pile of others listed only towards the enigma, Cyan Warren. Such as did she have Greek in her bloodline from one of her parents' side? Or was it required to learn because of how international her mother's business was?

"Anyway, to answer your first question," the young woman continued, moving the conversation back on topic and unaware of the many circling Cullen's head that very second. Time was a-wasting. It wouldn't be too long before the end-of-school bell rung. "I am going to a concert..just it isn't on the day of the Prom though."

He raised a brow. "Then what are you actually planning to do that day?" was then asked of her, "Surely not wasting it at home instead." A displeased grimace formed on Warren's lips. Why the hell did it matter to him if she did anyway? And again, was this really what his whole 'could I speak with you privately' request was about?!

"Which there is nothing wrong with that, I thank you very much!" she sternly interjected, "But no, I'm not. I'll get out of town, maybe cruise up to Portland and spend most of the day there. I heard they have some pretty neat shops. Also there's this awesome doughnut place—"

An incredulous expression marred handsome features, "Wait. You're going to drive there?"

She stared at him blankly. "Uh, yes."

"With your truck?" he emphasized as if she just confessed to secretly owning a two-headed dragon.

"Again, yes!" she exclaimed, overly annoyed now. But then again, when wasn't she with him? The guy just seemed to love pushing all her buttons. Oddly wanting to see every single reaction she had to give. "Why does that matter?"

"Will it make it that far and back?" Concern coated his expression and tone.

Her nose scrunched up cutely as she became offended. "Excuse you! Do not doubt my lovely Martha." Cullen raised a brow. She actually named her vehicle? Another interesting tidbit to add to the mental folder belonging to her alone. "She's a very reliable lady, unlike your puny Volvo."

"Sure." He gave a light doubtful chuckle. "Well, 'my puny Volvo' is willing to offer you a ride if anything happens to dear Martha before then."

A moment of silence passed between them. "..I feel like you just jinxed my car by saying that now." his classmate noted blandly. He let out a genuine laugh that time..which she dare not admit gave her pleasant little tingles. "So, because of that, I'm gonna have to decline." Her voice suddenly turned sharp with her next words. "And besides, I wouldn't want to burden you with anything else anyway. It's not like we're friends or anything since you yourself said it was best that we aren't." Harsh, she knew. Especially after the light banter the two were having. But Cyan couldn't help it. The always bitter part of herself had to rear its ugly head and remind him of what he said back on the field trip. To continuing dishing out the same hurt she didn't understand why she keep holding thanks to him but at ten-folds. As if that would make her feel less like shit..

A soft sigh fell from pale lips then; his happy feeling short-lived. "I only said it'd be better if we weren't friends," the vampire stated, meeting her gaze with such a strong seriousness in his. "Not that I didn't wanna be."

"Really? Could have damn sure fooled me." she deadpanned into her drink, rolling her eyes. "And what the hell does that even mean?"

"It means if you were smart, you'd stay away from me." Cyan's eyes narrowed into a harsh glare before looking away with a short shake of her head. She wanted so much to snap back, reminding him that was exactly what she'd been doing since finding out about his peculiar gift. That it was him that just wouldn't take the hint and buzz off. But she was tired—tired of talking in endless circles about the same shit just on a different day. Tired of pretty much everything, to be honest. And it showed on her face. Edward watched as the anger in her gaze melted away to a dull resign, that tucked away exhaustion seeping out of her weary soul to stick to her outward appearance instead.

Even her voice took on a sort of 'I give up' kinda tone as she informed, "Edward, you know what? I'm not doing this again. This never-ending conversation. So either start talking about something else—like the real reason for coming out here—" A pointed, knowing glance was directed towards him. He looked away, caught. "Or I'm gonna send my sweet ass walkin'."

A heavy sigh left him after a tense minute. He wasn't ready, but knew there was no choice now but to approach the true subject. "Alright..the reason I wanted to speak was to discuss your emotions—"

"My emotions?" Warren repeated, confused and suddenly wary of the direction this might be headed. "Look, I thought you said you wouldn't ask about what went down earlier."

"I assure you this isn't about that." Edward firmly promised. She stared before nodding, giving permission for him to continue. "Thank you..In the cafeteria, they were incredibly strong." Her mouth started to open to interrupt again, causing him to rush out. "Forgive me, I'll explain better."

"You see..I'm not the only one in my family with abilities." he stated, hoping if Alice saw this discussion beforehand she'd let Jasper know how sorry he was giving away his gift. But it had to be done; a chance he couldn't let slip through his fingers. He needed to know even an inkling of the truth about the new girl. It could also quite possibly benefit their entire family in someway. Such as a new unlikely ally.. "My brother, Jasper, for example."

"Ah, that's one that looks like he's constantly suffering from bowel pains, right?" Cyan remarked in an offhand way. Her classmate faked a cough to cover up the short laugh that escaped at the crude accuracy when describing the newly-christen vegetarian's facial expressions.

"Ahem, yes. As you oh-so kindly identified." he confirmed smoothly once composed, telling further. "He's an empath. Meaning he not only senses people's emotions but can manipulate them to his liking as well if he desired."

"Jesus..is your family like the Incredibles or something?" she couldn't help but blurt out. When he began discussing his brother, it was clear to hear the hidden meaning in the 'For example'. That those two might not be the only two with extraordinary powers in their bizarre family. Coming down to whether it was all of them or not. And that very frighting prospect made the unease sat in the bottom of her stomach stir violently. If this did end up going south—"No." she promptly shove the thought away. She wasn't gonna get herself worked up. "Just bide your time, Cy. Play it cool."

Waving a hand dismissively, Warren said hurriedly, "Never mind, sorry. Anyway, your point is?"

"So when you were happy and laughing with your friends, they were so intense," he told, "They began to slip into his and over take the rest flooding the room. Something that's never been done in the many years I've known him or before from what he's told me."

"Again, I don't get what—"

"You're not actually 'normal' either..are you?" he proposed softly, watching her closely.

She stiffen. "..I have no idea what you're talking about, Eddie." was strained out of clenched teeth; her fight or flight running on high now.

"Judging by your suddenly defensive change of attitude, I say you do." The vampire pushed off the metal beam then, taking a single step forward on the stone pavement. An ample predator starting to corner their slowly panicking prey. 'Too close. He's too close!' the primal part of her brain screamed in her head like a fire alarm, alerting the young woman to move or do something. But Cyan just stared up at his alluring but looming form, frozen stiff and trapped with dread pooling into her doe-like brown eyes. Squeezing them shut when his golden irises flashed that sicking red in her wild mind. Voice stuck in her throat and struggling to breathe; on the verge of yet another full blown panic attack. And just when it felt like there was no escape this time, the Fates for once blessed her with an out—

The bell at last rang.

The sound startled them both, causing her to dropped the half-empty soda can now crushed in her hand. It clanked loudly to the floor and splashed carbonated brown liquid onto Cullen's Converses-covered feet. Making him jump back and distracted enough to provide her space to breathe. And for her to also take a more cowardice route—by scrambling quickly to her feet, frantically grabbing her bag, and getting the hell out of Dodge.

Screw saving face with Mr. Molina today!

And she had made good distance before being the persistent yet contradicting jerk that he was, Edward called after her retreating back.

"Wait! You can't drive in your condition!"

Her boots skidded to a stop before she whipped around on her heels, bewildered. "What?!"

"You're full of adrenaline due to panic." explained Edward in a soft, calming voice; arms stretched out, palms up and in front as a display of peace. As if Cyan was some feral cat that needed gentle coaxing so he wouldn't be clawed by piercing nails and snarling teeth. And if she was one, her back would be arched and bristled in not only warning but offense. "The roads are still slick with rain and your 'Martha' isn't in the best shape to floor it all the way home."

She stared in disbelief at what had been said, breathing heavily. "..Oh..my..Goddess!" the young woman shouted, squatting down again while her hands grabbed her head, eyes squeezed shut in anger. Pulling hard at her hair as she continued to yell out her frustration, "You are the most bi-polar person next to my own psychotic mother that I fucking know! You annoy me and bug me! Act like you want nothing to do with me and then start asking me crazy but personal questions the next second! Ugh!"

She'd been right. He was no better than everyone else prying into her business, if not worse!

And Cyan wanted him gone! She couldn't take this anymore! Plus, he—his whole family, in fact—were now an official threat to her living 'normally' in Forks. Just like she had with them, they too were observing and spying her usually well-hidden tells. And today was unfortunately chock full of them! She didn't want this place where she started to love and finally gave the feeling of a home become another 'Boston'. But how? How could it be done? What could she possibly do to get the Cullens the hell away from her and out of Forks for good?

"Why..with a little give and take, my dear." the little voice in her head purred her late father's old advice in the most wicked and tempting tone she had ever heard it speak. A brilliant idea flickered into existent like kindling set aflame in the center of her mind right then.

She dropped her hands and rose back to her full height, eyes remaining closed. "..You know what? You're right." Edward tensed, sensing the sudden change in the air. It became charged, electrified. Similar to the warning signs before lightning struck in the very spot someone happen to stood. Left captivated as the young woman no longer held the demeanor of a trapped prey but a fierce predator as well. His 'beast' whined with anticipation, pressed firmly against its' steel bars. Holding fast to her next words like a humble follower to a certain holy figure. "I'm not..normal. I've got plenty of skeletons buried in my closet too. But knowing my secrets don't come cheap or easy. You'll have to rightfully earn them.."

Dark browns slowly opened; mischief gleaming in her once terrified eyes. "So, Eddie, if you're really dying to know about me.." Cyan took one step in a rare beam of sunlight, causing him to gasp. Hypnotic feline green flashed quickly by as a devilish burgundy-colored grin was given.

"Shall we play a game then?"

"Tha ekplageíte me aftó pou xéro" - "You'll be amazed at what I know." (Sorry to any Greek readers if that's totally wrong. Ya girl had to use google translate, haha.)
