Monsuno of the Magic Kingdom: Chapter 1

Chapter 1: Another Time, Another World Part 1
"Mm-mmm!" A 15-year old young man with messy black hair, blue eyes and wearing a thin short-sleeved black V-neck T-shirt and tight brown pants, with a blue hoodless jacket happily moaned "Mom, these are the best.". He was tucking into a delicious breakfast of pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon and orange juice with his parents and two of his best friends.
This young man is Chase Suno, son of Jeredy and Sofia Suno and leader of Team Core-Tech. It has been two years after they defeated Digby Droog and sent Dr Emmanuel Eklipse and his son, Six to prison. Now, he and his friends have merged with the organization S.T.O.R.M under the command of Marshall Jon Ace and continue their mission help Monsuno and humans to live in peace and harmony.
Sofia Suno, a woman with short silky brown hair and green eyes giggled. "Don't rush yourself, Chase." she gently reminded. "You don't want to choke." "Sorry, mom." Chase replied. "It's just your cooking never fails to amaze me." Jeredy Suno, Chase's father; a slightly built man with messy black hair grinned. "Well, your mother has always been a better cook than me."
"So, Professor Suno," another boy spoke up excitedly, slightly scrawny, short with frazzled brown hair and wearing a cyan t-shirt, grey shorts with pockets and a pair of spectacles. "do you think you can upgrade the rest of our Monsuno?" That was Bren, one of Chase's best friends.
Jeredy chuckled. "I'm almost done with that." he explained. "I still need to fine-tune the Cores, but I'm sure I'm almost there." Jinja, a young woman with long brown hair, cyan eyes and wearing a light-colored jacket and black baggy pants; another one of Chase's closest friends, chuckled.
"Well, you can't blame the nerd, Professor Suno." She reminded. "I mean, some of our stronger Monsuno have been given those new upgrades and the results were far beyond incredible." Jeredy smiled. "I know, Jinja." he replied. "I find it hard to believe it myself; I never would have thought how it would affect them."
The three friends smiled. A few weeks ago, Jeredy had surprised team Core-Tech by evolving some of their stronger Monsuno Cores. He wanted to test out some new upgrades that he had been working on so Chase and his friends offered their Cores for him use. Amazingly, it turned out much better than they had expected.
(Three weeks ago...)
"So, what's the old man got in store for us?" A brown man with dreadlocks asked; he was wearing a blue beanie, black hooded jacket, a red T-shirt with blue stripe and dark green trousers. He wore a necklace with metal tags and spoke in a British accent.
"Oh, Dad has just finished adding new upgrades on some of our Cores, Dax." Chase replied, as he and his friends made their way to Jeredy's lab in the S.T.O.R.M vessel. "He wants us to test them out." "I don't why your dad would want to upgrade our Cores." Jinja added. "Our Monsuno already have their hyper forms."
"Come on, Jinja" Bren pointed out. "Aren't you the least bit curious to what the professor has planned?" Jinja shrugged. "To be honest, I don't really see the point in this." "I, for one, am wishing to know what upgrades Mr Suno has for our Cores." A young man with white hair spoke in a soft tone; he wore a white shirt, dark-blue trousers and a beige hood jacket.
"Well, Beyal." Chase spoke up. "We're about to find out." Soon, they entered a large laboratory where Chase's parents were waiting for them. "Mom!" Chase exclaimed. "What are you doing here?" Sofia smiled. "Oh, I came to see the new upgrades to your Cores." She replied.
"Well, you all don't have to wait for long." Jeredy spoke up. "Allow me to present your new and improved Cores!" He pressed a button, and, on a platform, metal tubes emerged to reveal most of the team's Cores. "Thanks, professor." Bren replied as they took a few of their Cores. "So, what's the surprise?" he asked.
Jeredy smiled as he stood up. "Well, do you find anything different?" he asked. Chase looked at one of his Cores in confusion, turning it around in his hand. "It looks the same to me, Dad." he replied. "What did you do?" Jeredy grinned. "Try launching Lok out, and you will see for yourself."
Confused, Chase gave in. He raised his Core and cried "Lok, Launch!" With that, he threw across the room; it spun along the floor until it hit the wall. A great flash of white light emerged, and a towering creature appeared before them and let out a loud "GGGGRRRRROOOOOOAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!".
It looked like an enormous polar bear; its white fur glistened in the light and its broad, blue chest shone brightly. Large blueish crystals ran along its back, arms and legs like spikes and blue stripes shone on its shoulders and the side of its face. This was Lok, Chase's first Monsuno and his closet friend.
"GGGGGGGRRRRROOOOOOOAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!" Lok raised his head and roared again, causing the whole lab to shake. Chase grinned. "It's good to see you again, buddy." he replied. "I'm glad you're doing alright." It was then, that something amazing happened.
"It's good to see you too, my brother." A complete silence fell on the lab as team Core-Tech blinked in shock for a while. "Uh., C-C-Chase, m-mate..." Dax stammered, his eyes wide. "Am I dreaming, or did Lok just talk to you?" Chase was also stunned. "Lok, d-did you just speak?" He asked, in shock.
The giant White Bear grinned, showing his sharp, white fangs. "Well, brother." he replied, his voice was a deep growling sound like a real bear. "Do you really expect me to roar and growl all the time?"
3...2...1...
"HOLY CRAG!" Team Core-Tech screamed in shock, their jaws dropping in astonishment. "YOU ARE TALKING?!" Lok let out a low rumbling laughing sound. "Dad!" Chase turned to his parents. "How is this possible?!"
Jeredy chuckled while Sofia giggled. "That's one of the new upgrades to the Monsuno." he replied. "Most of your Monsuno have been given the ability to speak and higher intelligence." "I also removed the 8-minute duration so now your Monsuno can stay outside their Cores for as long as they want." he added, grinning.
Team Core-Tech were amazed, this really was a surprise. "So, you're saying all of our Monsuno can talk?!" Jinja asked in excitement. Jeredy nodded. "Most of your stronger Monsuno can but I still haven't done the rest yet." he replied. "Your father wanted it to be a surprise." Sofia added, smiling. "He wanted it to something special for everything you and your team has done."
"Dad, Mom, this is incredible!" Chase exclaimed, grinning wildly. "Indeed." Beyal added, his eyes shining. "This could change everything about human's relationship with Monsuno." Chase turned to Lok. "So, buddy, how do you feel?"
The White Bear grinned and bend low, his great head and muzzle inches away from Chase. "I always believed that I didn't need a voice as our thoughts alone was enough to connect our strong bonds." he spoke, breathing softly. "But hearing me speak to you for the first time..." He paused. "I have so much to tell you, so much I want to know."
Chase smiled. "Believe me, buddy." he replied, stroking Lok on the nose. "We have a lot to catch up on."
(Flashback end...)
This excited the team. The thought of all their Monsuno being able to talk was beyond everything they believed in. So far, all of Chase's Monsuno could talk; Lok, Evo, Nitestone, Deepsix, Babeon and Batteram. For Jinja and Bren, Neo-Quickforce, Longfang, Charger and Skyfall were given the new upgrades as well.
Dax and Beyal left early due to their excitement of training their Monsuno. For them, Boost, Clubber, Glowblade and Mysticblade could now speak as well. "Well, guys!" Chase exclaimed, as he devoured the last of his breakfast. "What are we waiting for, Lok and the others are waiting for us!"
Little did the friends realize that something extraordinary would happen to their Monsuno and it just so happened to be taking place in another time, in another world.
