Loud House: Flash!

5th Flash: Her Portrait

"I've waited for this day for so long!"

Girlish giggles were soon followed by full on joyous laughter, the sounds echoing throughout the lonely house nearer the edge of town.

"Loud, you have no idea how grateful I'll be to you once you're done."

Now the ring of footsteps followed, a rhythmic clapping sound as their owner twirled and swayed in a too old way for one so young in appearance, her dance one of times long past and nations now a distant memory's memory. When she could hold it in no longer, she once more began laughing, falling to the ground in happiness while she kicked her booted feet in the air and upon the floor.

"GJ, I could kiss you right now, you're just as much an angel!" the girl came to a rest, her chest rising and falling as she caught her breath once again. "It's all thanks to you I've finally found my savior!"

"Hey, Mols, you wanna go to the school's art exhibit with me?"

'I dunno. Why?'

"I heard Lincoln's got a piece being shown and I thought he'd like some support."

'Loud? That's just…'

"Just what?"

'...just what he'd need, huh? Sure, GJ, I'll go. Who knows, maybe his piece will be best in show.'

"Mollie, it's an art exhibit, not a contest."

"Who cares?" Mollie shook her head of those thoughts, still chafing slightly that she'd made such a mistake. "Besides, if I hadn't gone, I'd never have known that it finally happened. After so long, that doofus's family produced a successor! Soon I'll be free of this Stygian existence!"

"Hey Girl Jordan, Mollie! Glad you could make it!"

"Hey yourself, Lincoln… Whoa, this your work?"

"Yeah, what do you think—Mollie? I-is something wrong?"

'Huh? Why do you ask, Loud?'

"W-well, you almost looked like you, uh…"

'"Uh," what?'

"Um, like you were, well… crying."

'What can I say? It's a pretty moving piece in my opinion.'

"Huh, never thought I'd see Mols crying over a gazebo with your sisters under it. Jelly much?"

'Oh, hush, GJ… hey, Loud?'

"Yeah, Mollie?"

'If I paid you, think you could paint my portrait?'

"P-paid? Me? Paint your portrait-"

"Nude, maybe?"

'GJ! I wasn't thinking like that!'

"Y-you don't have to pay me, Mollie, I'd be glad to… if you don't mind maybe showcasing it sometime? You know, as part of my portfolio?"

"Like I'd say no to my savior?" Mollie grinned as she laid upon her back, arms crossed over her stomach as she stared up at the wall. "Thank you, Loud. You don't know how much this means to me! What your ancestor did, cursed me to, you'll soon undo and give me my final repose. Thank you, thank you, thank you…"

Mollie drifted off to sleep, repeating those two words even in her slumber as, above and and upon the wall, a portrait of a far too strikingly similar but immensely older female gazed unhappily down upon her.

End of 5th Flash

A/N: Yes, I'm a fan of The Portrait of Dorian Gray, does it show? That said, the idea was based entirely off the movie's Mollie mistake if you couldn't tell.
