Loud House: Flash!

9th Flash: Quid Pro Quo

"Apprentice!"

"Yes, Master Flip?"

The familiar blue bowed head popped through the doorway to find her master practically snuffling about on the floor. "Is something… wrong?"

Twitching his mustache, Flip grumbled as he looked over his shoulder, his hand holding the rug in his study up. "Yeah, the gold and jewels I was paid to rescue that dang kidnapped princess whatshername from that black dragon went missing! Also," he pointed to her, "you and whatshisname get her back while I stay and continue the search!"

Girl Jordan gaped. "B-but Jordan and I aren't-"

"Eh, you can handle it," he waved his hand, shooing her off. "Just take her ring and an amulet or two and hurry! Not only did I lose the money, but if we don't follow through I'll owe that dang king out of my pocket!"

"B-but how-"

"Take the dang teleporter!"

"Jordan's not-"

"You'll do just fine on your own, now hurry!"

Realizing she wasn't getting anywhere, Girl Jordan audibly gulped and turned to leave.

Hurrying, she rushed to her room and grabbed her traveler's pack, then stopped off at Flip's artifact room where she lifted more than just two amulets, stuffing them inside her bag. Then she grabbed her own wizard's staff and, in a rush, hurried down the stairs to the teleportation room.

"Hey, Jordan, what's-"

"No time, Jordan! Important mission!" and with that, the girl burst into the teleportation room and, with a quick palming of the ring, thrust it through first before jumping in herself.

Before she knew it, she was as close as the magic could bring her to her quarry.

Within sight of both the tower in which the princess was held, and the black dragon who judiciously guarded her.

"Halt!" the dragon bellowed as soon as Girl Jordan came within sight. "Who dares trespass on the territory of the great Clydius!"

Reaching for the first amulet, Girl Jordan declared ruthlessly, "Why bother giving names, foul beast!" and, after a chant, threw it at her target.

The amulet turned quickly to a red orb which the dragon deftly dodged. It impacted the tower's wall with a deafening crack before flying back to the girl.

"Ha! You think that'll work?" and with that, the dragon let loose a torrent of blue flame.

Girl Jordan barely had time to take hold of the second amulet, casting its ward of protection just as the flame licked the ground before her. But she was safe, and soon she tried another volley, only to miss as the two traded blows, never hitting and never being hit, equally matched as they were.

The fight continued for far longer than either combatant had anticipated, and both were panting after an hour.

"G-give her back, beast!" Girl Jordan panted, bending over to catch her breath.

But Clydius refused. "Never! She's to be a part of my horde now!"

Standing to her full height once more, Girl Jordan retorted, "Your horde? That's what you want?"

"All dragons-"

Girl Jordan held up her hands, "Wait a minute, maybe we can trade?"

Clydius looked confused. "Why?"

"Well," Girl Jordan started as she dropped her pack and rummaged through it, "see, if you keep a princess, she'll have to be fed, which costs money. And there's no telling whether you'll get money or not, right?" seeing he could understand her reasoning, Girl Jordan risked a peek at her bag's contents before speaking again. "But if you had treasure already, and rumor got out about your treasure horde, then-"

"Then I'd be making money without losing any!" Clydius punched one claw into the other. "My dads'll be impressed with that!"

Ignoring what she just heard, Girl Jordan pulled out what looked to Clydius like a princess's ransom in gold and treasure. "I'll trade you this for the princess. Deal?"

With only a few minutes' thought, Clydius bent down and extended his claw, shaking Girl Jordan's outstretched hand as he said, "Deal. Pleasure doing business with you."

This done, Girl Jordan rushed along as Clydius took his treasure and prepared to leave, skipping up to the tower, inside, up the staircase, and to the bedroom where-

"GJ! You really rescued me!"

"Of course, Mollie!" both girls squealed and hugged the moment they laid eyes on the other.

Once reunited, the girls hurried down the stairs, both laden with packs. "So," Mollie asked as they started walking the opposite way Girl Jordan had come from, "you did say you'd escort me wherever I wanted to go before I was kidnapped, right?"

Fighting to hide the blush forming on her cheeks, Girl Jordan reigned herself in from nodding too eagerly as she said, "Yeah, Mols! Wherever! You just lead, and I'll protect you no matter what!"

Happy, Mollie took the lead while Girl Jordan practically swooned when the other girl's hand grasped hers.

Later that day, Clydius sat before his fathers, showcasing his treasures and retelling his epic duel.

"My boy!" the red dragon sniffled, tearing up, "Barely out of the nest and he's already kidnapped his first princess, battled his first wizard and got his first treasure horde!"

"You're a real smart worker, Clydius!" the older black dragon hugged his son hard.

Clydius couldn't help the mischievous smile crossing his face, "Yeah, I am, aren't I?"

It was a pleasure doing business with you, Jordan!

A/N: I've now given the world a MolliexGirl Jordan story. Yep. Also, I'm a sucker for writing anything with Clyde in it. If only I had more time to write, he'd be getting more work...
